    good graphics, but gameplay is MEH. player AI is trash. makes no fun at all. if KONAMI improves AI and gameplay, it would be a much better game. but they dumbed it down for the masses.

    Game full of script, akward player movement and poor passing. When you have more than 500 online games at the start of the match you can notice if you will win or lose

    I brought PES2020 since Fifa 20 had bad reviews and PES 2020 had really good ones. I was bitterly disappointed, the game play is about on par with Fifa 2004 on the PS2 that I played last week. Graphics are good, buyer gameplay poor, the whole game feels rushed out and cheap throughout. Online matchmaking takes forever. I have asked PSN for a refund but don't hold my breath...

    A major dissapointment ...the demo was amazing but the released version was as usual a disaster.
    there's no freedom in dribbling, it's feels clunky, there's no atmosfere, the commentary is horrendous.

Weaker teams get a boost to play like world champions and often even when you have 65% posession and many chances the ball magically decides nope i'm going just past the goal shot after shot chance after chance. oh and did i mention that sometimes the controls become either unresponsive or the player does what he wants regardless of your button input all just so the AI can gain an advantage? sounds like fun right? scripting, scripting and more scripting

    i could go on but i think you understand why all of this is a problem and takes away all the fun which otherwise could have been a great game. good thing i bought this travesty of a game on the recent psn sale for 5 euros but believe me if i could get a refund i would gladly have them give me back my money.    … Expand

    Veo a muy poca gente indignada con este juego y, sinceramente, no lo entiendo. Después de muchos partidos jugados en liga master, puedo confirmar lo siguiente:

    - Los árbitros son pésimos, descaradamente manipulados por la I.A. - Faltas inventadas constantemente que cortan el ritmo de juego. - Tarjetas amarillas a tutiplén sin, ni si quiera, llegar a tocar al jugador rival.     - Los árbitros son pésimos, descaradamente manipulados por la I.A.

    - Tarjetas amarillas a tutiplén sin, ni si quiera, llegar a tocar al jugador rival. Incluso tocando la pelota, la mitad de las veces o más, te sacan tarjeta amarilla.
    - Fueras de juego que se generan por arte de magia.
    - Empanadas de muchos jugadores: unas veces no disputan la pelota, otras veces se generan conflictos cuando la pelota está entre varios de ellos, etc.

    Empecé a jugar a este juego hace muchísimos años (PES 4) y le tenía cierto cariño a la saga pero después de tantos días tilteado con esta versión, lo odio a un nivel bestial y me obliga, muy a mi pesar, a reemplazarlo por FIFA.

    Konami, tu juego es una auténtica porquería. La gestión de fichajes es muy deficiente y, visualmente, no aporta nada desde hace muchos tiempo. Las nuevas animaciones de las ruedas de prensa del entrenador o las charlas con el equipo son de risa.

    Había pensado prenderle fuego y grabarlo, para después enviar el vídeo a Konami y publicarlo en las redes. Pero al final no, me he decantado por ponerlo a la venta a un precio de risa.

    Espero que algún día aparezca una nueva franquicia que le dé una patada a EA Sports y Konami. Una compañía que sepa sacar lo mejor de ambos juegos, que cuiden la I.A., mimen los modos offline y no se olviden de actualizar las frase de los comentaristas de los partidos.

    En cuanto a los modos online, meteros por el ano eso del PAY TO WIN.    … Expand

    Worst game in the franchise. It started very well but over time it was showing that it would be the worst game in the franchise with excessive bugs, exaggerated handcap, lack of content in my club mode, updates without improvements in gameplay and total neglect of the konami.

Muchos alaban su "jugabilidad" que con cada actualización va de mal en peor, no se puede dar un solo pase decente, movimientos lentos de los jugadores, minuto 80 y tu rival corre como si nada mientras los tuyos jamás llegan. Skipped 18 and 19 and came back this year buying 20 at lauch. Despite buying it at launch and having loads of the best players I've still hardly played it as the gameplay is so bad. I don't know what happened since 17 but sometimes it feels like the devs don't even play football. Things like the CBs not being in the penalty area to defend corner kicks. You'll have your small full back matching up against the opp centre forward for an easy headed goal, feels very cheap. The AI feels really bad. It's sluggish and has gone backwards from 17. Often feels very scripted and you may aswell go and play FIFA as whatever made PES different and unique is gone. And of course no changes to the offline modes as usual. Stop releasing yearly games if this is the trash you come out with clearly you need more time.… Expand

    Aside from good graphics, player response as opposed to Cpu controlled is terrible. Also, the refereeing is absolutely laughable, I have played the master league for 5 seasons and i have been fowled in the 18 yard box countless times and i have never been given a penalty. 5 seasons and not a single penalty awarded.

    Konami's greed and lack of care for the fans has reached new lows. This is nothing more than an introduction to gambling, where the objective is to take control of the game away from the players and make them spend money. Should be banned. Don't buy this, and boycott future PES games. It's the only way they will listen.

    Big step down for Konami. Game is unfinished, AI is awful, passing is awful. Scripting is big part of gameplay and that is so sad.

    I hope Konami will sell licencse to someone with motives and ambitions because it is sad to watch how they are destroying something so good.

    Sure it might be slightly better than FIFA, but still deserves a 0. This game is *shockingly* bad. AI is reminiscent of a PS1 game, whether that's your teammates or the opposition. Win lose or draw it simply isn't fun. Do not buy.

    Last year & this year were Konami's GOLDEN CHANCES to finally take back the mantle of Top Footy Game from FIFA!...but you fluffed your lines Konami....So very very badly.

    In fact, somehow - I feel that in many ways PES has never been further behind FIFA...And given how rubbish FIFA has been the past few years...that has GOT to be a worry for Konami, surelyi?!

    If they were smart. Their ONLY answer from here is to tear this game apart - raze it to the ground. And then throw everything in the bin...and start again. Rebuild EVERYTHING from the ground up.

    Else it seems PES will be forever living in FIFA's stinking shadow, feeding off their scraps...

    PLEASE???...We want...no, we DESERVE a game that will slap EA' back into place!

    The sprint speed is uncontrollable. After playing a few games, you will eventually know when your player is going to run outside of the field if you are sprinting. It becomes predictable how the speed management work in this game. This game needs to add multiple sprint levels.

    The dribbling control does not make sense. The defenders easily suffocate you.

    You can’t effectively customize your controller settings. Somehow, defense and offense control buttons have an interlocking relationship. You can often kick the ball and hit the opponent in front of you where the interaction seems pretty unrealistic.

    The pass/clear power does not accurately work. Alot of times where I want to clear the ball with my goalie, he doesn't put power behind the ball.

    The defenders sometimes wonder off and move around to open up for the opponent.

    The passing in some cases is just too off.

    The game feels ok but they have a lot of work to do. The updates they come up with doesn't fix any of these issues. There are many more issues with the game and I hope other people can cover them.    … Expand

    Master league: a poor showing once again with no improvements barring a select few cutscenes that bring nothing and a new poorly made main menu. Same mode since 2016 otherwise

    BAL: no improvements

    Myclub: no improvements, no content, paywalled players, just pure cancer

    UI: the same poor user interface as iterations going back years. This game is stuck in 2003 in terms of design and usability. This year they added a new main menu and that's it. All sub menus, squads, game plan, help menus are all the same and of course have grammar and spelling mistakes. Just a joke.

    Gameplay - offline: on the lower difficulties it can be fun to play, there are some nice touches in terms of ball physics etc. but the game really starts to show its flaws when you ramp up the difficulty. You cannot dribble past a player or execute a skill move no matter how perfect the timing. Free kicks are a certain goal for the AI unless you manually override the keeper and the referees are programmed to favour the AI.

    Gameplay - online: The worst football game I have ever played online in my life. There are no servers, relying on p2p. The game isn't responsive enough to do anything, your own teammates will bug out gifting opponent's opportunities, fouls are not awarded resulting in rugby tackling matches, finesse dribbling is useless, cancerous tactics are abused such as kick off goals, playing 4 or 5 centre backs with no midfield but a front 4 to rely on 1-2 spam (who can blame people, the game has been designed to suit this meta), extremely long pause menus where your opponent can keep you waiting for upto 2 minutes and no chance to be able to see your goal in replays as it can be skipped, as well as not being able to see specific replays post match but having to cycle through every single one like I did when I first played pes 3.

    No word on the devs on fixes, they're done with the game it seems. Poor poor entry and I have limited faith the next iteration will be any better    … Expand

    The HANDICAP makes the game a TRASH. All game modes have handicap, and the game is very manipulated. Konami has to do a better game next year

    I have created an account just to give this **** game a good 0. I have been playing this game for over 100 hours now. I only play offline since online football games give cancer. But, today I deleted it. There were many patches for this game, where none of them addressed the issues described here (i.e. too many fouls, scripted games, etc.).     Free kicks are easier to score than penalties.

    Finally I bought the game because of the demo but the final release is a totally different game. Konamis response was that they changed the demo because of customer demands. That's just wrong. A demo is a demonstration of how the final product will be so we can decide if we like it or not and buy it.

    If you wanted to beta test release a beta version months back and ask for feedback and then release a demo that represents the final release.

Such a shame as the game has so much potential but the greed is overpowering. Lack of content and any effort from the devs to actually deliver an enjoyable game.

    After more and more days of playing this horrendous excuse for a pes game i think it's time I wrote you a perspective from a player who had played your franchise since the beginning.

    I know you dont give a **** that's been made very clear by now but here it goes anyways. Pes was once the diamond of sports games and was made by a team who loves what they did, aspired to be the best they could be and always wished for customers to be happy and content with the game you created.

    The current team is not only making a mockery of this classic franchise but they are doing it with zero love, care or energy. 5 months now into yet another iteration of pes and still to this day the game is littered with bugs from players stopping mid animation, goalkeepers refusing to ever save a tapped ground shot, free kicks made so easy that stevie wonder is a specialist, none existent defensive system that exists of running into a player to tackle being the only viable option, world class players feeling no different to league 2 nobody's, defenders catching players 20 yards in front of them due to catch up mechanics still present, skills absolutely unusable and defunct due to superb slow animations and players simply running into you as mentioned, through balls that float like balloons and and always land on defenders head ( zero difference very animation). I could go on but paragraphs getting a bit long.

    A menu system designed to be as unintuitive as possible. Having to go back menu upon menu simply to change controls, loading of every single screen in game, bland menu and color design that a first year design student could improve upon. Every single aspect of pes 20 (now called efootball which is funny) is poor. Onto the name of efootball as you chose so hilariously. How in 2020 can you possibly market your game as an esport yet have servers that can't even offer a stable game maybe 2 in 10. Its almost as if your calling it e football as a joke. I can't possibly think of any other reason unless the guy behind the decision of game title is really that silly.

    Now onto content. The content on the game is so lacking it makes the ps2 versions look like massive rpgs. Literally nothing on myclub apart from a couple tournaments per week and new players to milk cash from people. The amount of plain laziness behind the online aspect of pes is enough to win an award its almost comical to think a company such as Konami hires a team of such incompetence.

    99 percent of the playerbase literally only play 2 way, hold speed burst to tackle, tap x to reach box then tap shoot. There is no other way to play if wanting to be effective because the game is simply to broken with bugs to Warrant playing actually football hence why 99 percent of players play in the same way.

    You clearly have no love for the actuslly disc version that's blatantly obvious when pes lite is released so quickly. You care about cash on myclub a mode which even though u want the cash you wish to put zero passion into. Your an embarressment to the franchise, customers, the gaming industry and every game designer out there.

    I guarentee on behalf of every single player that your next release will be not only refunded by every single player but you as a company will be facing so many lawsuits if the game is again in an unfit state that you won't want to release another one.

    And please do not think I'm just an angry redditor with no experience. I am a long time customer as stated, a passionate gamer and a very very clever man.

    Anyway, as if these stupid mistakes were not enough, artificial intelligence always seems to have control of us, when it wants to win a game, it will win, no matter if your team is superior or you know how to play well, and always when you miss something that is to say, a goal comes from the opponent, no matter how, they always score after any miserable mistake.
    When you are losing, any move created or any kick insists on hitting the post or miraculously going out, it may even hit the two posts that it will not enter, in addition to that your players never rebound, they are always displaced or follow the ball and don't kick!
    Certainly the worst of the franchise I played, it was the last chance I gave Konami, it looks like a worse PES2019.    … Expand

Today I managed to sign Lionel Messi for 20M and and Lingard too. This is a far cry from the "realistic transfers" we were promised.

    Players will never be taken out on loan, you can build super teams far to quickly, and the pre season tournaments are just a joke as Rotherham will never play in the ICC Champions Cup, it's just utterly ridiculous and gimmicky that this is the only major license they have to flaunt.

    If you're thinking of making the change from FIFA don't, this series now is as bad as FIFA, if not even worse    … Expand

    Player mobility = retirement home. Firstly, they fixed the problem with player speed. When your player is clearly quicker you can out run the odd player. Unlike 2019, even the slowest player could catch the quickest. As for reactions, terrible. Feels like your player is reacting while surrounded by molasses. So slow. The game hasn't got the enjoyment factor that all previous versions had all the way back to superstar. Feels like they have tried to make a game that's as terrible as FIFA!! Not quite FIFA bad but even saying they are comparable!!!!

    The greatest addition this year are the scripted games. If your team is lower rated than the opponent's one, then the game will do everything for you to lose. Your player won't run, will have lag in their actions and so on... this shot they took from fifa...

    Secondly, gameplay wise, refereeing is probably the worst in any sports game ever made - it feels that after couple of murders on the pitch referee blows the whistle randomly just to remind you he exists. Usually this happens right after a clear tackle you've made. And lots of times you're going to concede a goal from this made-up free kick. Also don't get me started about offsides...

    Is it worth playing? With friends occasionally just for fun? Sure. But if you're looking for a real football simulator, you'll have to keep waiting, cause you won't find it here.    … Expand

    - Disastrous online match: defenders are like retarded drunkers, your hard-earned Viera or Kante will ignore the ball even if it drifted very slowly before them. No need to mention crazy swiching mechanism. What is more funny is you will feel like you are playing shooting game, rather than football, as you will end up "firing" the ball from CB to CF (so does the opponent) , as midfielders will not react fast enough to the ball (well, career ending for De Bruyne, Modric, Kroos .etc). Whoever more lucky during the firing game will win (e.g the ball bounces off some CB and go straight to your, or opponent's,s feet.)
    Don't understand why this issue has already been complained since PES19 and it seemed Konami do not care about their customers.

    A decent game if you are to play offline only. For me, the suffering it caused in online mode deserve my rating of 1.

    Here are some advice if you decide to play the game:
    -Play offline only
    - If you really want to play online:
    1/ Don't expect skills will get you wins all the time: although skills can help you to gain higher rank, they cannot help you overcome Konami god. If they decide that you will lose the game, you lose, full stop.
    2/ Buy some extra controllers: you may need some reserve controllers, in case you get too pissed off and...(you know what I mean)
    3/ Don't let Konami coax you into buying coins: it will not worth it, coz if your team is stronger, Konami will balance you down. So, what's the point of building a strong team?

    P/S: it pains to say these as I am a fan from Winning Eleven to now. Why Konami, why can't you let us enjoy the game, especially online mode? If you cannot ensure your product quality for online mode, then why you still release it?    … Expand

    There are so many negative things that make this game the worst PES I ever played and I play since PES 5. I'll only write the 3 biggest flaws:

    1. We are in 2019 and they still don't have proper servers, and there is an insane amount of input lag, many times you can't enjoy the game anymore as you press a button now and the action comes tomorrow.

    2. The game is not responsive and that comes extra to the input lag, you can feel it even when playing offline- which means is in the games code and not from connection, sometimes you try to trap the ball, shoot or pass and the player takes 1-2 extra touches before performing your action. There are some frames in between on which you have no control.

    3. The game is too much AI assisted, it is not skill based anymore. it happens many time that the game does what it wants and not what you press. In all the PES versions until PES 2017 included if you were way better than opponent you could win with a 1 star team against a 5 star team, hard but you could. Now you can't beat with a 3 star team a 5 star team no matter how weak is the opponent as his players position alone, defend alone, intercept alone, even strikers do great runs. And AI plays fantastic with players above 85-86 rating.    … Expand

    Graphics is good. MyClub mod need better AI in defense. Players don't want to take ball. The players collide with each other. The ball is bounced from the player directly to the opponent in the legs. Passes are often wrong. MyClub need more competitions.

    USA online players beware! This game has serious problems with control response. If you are new to soccer gaming do yourself a favor and avoid this game. I have been playing this game series since 2003 and, with the exception of the 2007 release, this game is the worst online. Other reviews are not based on online play. Trust me. There is no excuse for this in 2019.

In my opinion, every other thing can be overlooked or shrugged off but absolutely 100% not game-play. "The Pitch Is Ours" stopped at PES 19 for me. I didn't get to tryout the demo, but from the reviews I've been reading it must have been way better than this crap.
    In truth, eFootball PES 2020 for me is the same PES 19 game but with the passing mechanics tweaked wrong, goal keepers nerfed to PES 16-17 versions, and updated graphics, menus and player models. If Konami wanted to make something even more closer to real soccer than PES 19, they went about it in the worst possible way with eFootball PES 2020.    … Expand

    FIFA is better in every way - UEFA Champions league, more real team names, street soccer Volta. No one plays PES online. What a waste of money.

    nice graphics but - Lack of licenses and Robotic gameplay is really annoying. Online Section is awfull. So I think FIFA is really really better( I'm not a FIFA fan )

    So disappointed to have the same thing every year. A demo that the fans respond too and then a full release which bears no resemblance. Finesse dribbling, shielding, pace had all been improved and stood out yet they've all been removed from the main game. Who do Konami take feed back from? Time for a change at the top of the franchise is to progress.

    Same game every year, same game which only can love fan of it. Worst player movement i have ever seen, worst ball control and worst finishing. Goalkeepers are story for itself.. So many 10 ratings from fans of it, don't be scamed, if u have pes 16 u don't need upgrade except new rosters.

    Attention: I'm not a PES hater and/or FIFA fan.

    Based on Demo version:
    Great graphics.
    The most annoying thing is whistling for every contact. Every little contact between 2 players are fouls and referee stops the game for nothing and ridiculously every foul can cause yellow or red card.

    A weak game with only new colors and master league very boring because ALWAYS have The same scenes for All teams and coach. You cannot make a coach on ML and that os horrível. The game faces are from STARAMBA and not from KONAMI equipment.

    Played Pro Evo since 2002 and If you plan to play online, can confirm this is highway robbery. 3 years ago division 1 level title 950+ past 2 seasons division 6to10 with 350-550 rating due to online lag cheats 80% (*that's been generous to these rat bastards at Konami). A terrible unplayable game online.

Ahora se volvió 7-8 años atrás, jugadores torpisimo, pases que salen en cualquier dirección, etc... que mal, pes2019 me había reencantado con el genero (fifa es aun peor en agilidad de jugadores), pero este juego es injugable.     Fix the passing system. remake it. When i click pas button th player passes sometimes 3 seconds after. 3 seconds is very important in this kind of games.

    Cada año menos novedades, ligas y equipos, pero te siguen cobrando 60 dolares. Lo peor es que anuncian movimientos como cosas nuevas en esta version cuando la competencia ya tiene todo eso hace varias versiones atras. Otro año que PES te da un rompecabezas por 60 dolares y el usuario tiene que completarlo con mods para que quede un juego decente

However, they basically scrapped all the good work they did and released Pes 2019 again. I don't play much offline but online is an absolute disgrace. The game has continued its scripted nonsense, where if you go on a fewPes showed what a great game it can be when the demo came out. Amazing dribbling, a lot more skill-based, and this showed online playing an opponent. Better players won. However, they basically scrapped all the good work they did and released Pes 2019 again. I don't play much offline but online is an absolute disgrace. The game has continued its scripted nonsense, where if you go on a few wins, your players become unresponsive and fail to do any of the basics correct. Massive delays in passing and shooting, also much weaker, this results in you having to cheese exploits in the game to get to high ranks. You will find yourself frustrated and throwing you controller at your window as your 94 rated defender decides he wants to go for a wander somewhere for no reason leaving their striker for a tap in. Their new addition Matchday is this nonsense on steroids. Granted I've only played the mode a few times as they decided to release it between 3-6 pm every day when most adult humans have to work. Another massive KON. The games feel forced if you score then all the scripted nonsense is notched up 500% to try and support your opponent equalise. I'm not a pro but I'm currently ranked in the top 1000 in my region ( out of about 110000 ) so I'm not bad. But my patience has run out with Konami, this will be the last Pes I buy. They teased so so much with the demo, and then basically destroyed the game. The people who write good reviews online are either lying or are not good players as no human in their right mind can enjoy this crap.… Expand

I believed that PES 2020 will actually be a better game, but it looks like It does not even matter how bad EA Sports make FIFA, FIFA will still be better. At the moment FIFA is way beyond broken and Career Mode is unplayable but I would rather go through a year of FIFA with all those huge problems than play another single match of this broken-gameplayed PES. I have no idea why so many people praise PES’s gameplay. I guess because they like the few things they do better than FIFA, and for the fact it’s the alternative to FIFA. In all honesty PES 2020 is a broken game and way too frustrating. Even when winning I get annoyed. AI is so handicapped. They respond extremely quick to dead balls, are all great at dribbling, fast, detect runs all the time, GK making super saves every game, and can tackle perfectly from behind etc. on top of that they are also stupid as ****, running into my goalie with the ball intead of shooting, missing open net 7/10 times. My own players avoid defending, can not tackle properly and gets tired so quickly. The skillstick is beyond embarrassing. So unresponsive and slow to execute, even with great dribblers like Messi or Neymar. Also why can’t Mbappe run faster than an average defender from Chinese League? Fix the game! Right now certain player types are useless, and there is only one way to attack and just a few formations that are effective. I do not even want to start and talk about collisions are so broken that sometimes game feels like WWE Pro Evolution Wrestling. When you are not playing the game when you are in menu and master league I must admit and say that It feels amazing, but as soon as you enter the football match and want to play a match you encounter all this huge problems that make game unplayable. And everyone said that there will be the most realistic "ball physics" ever, and there is right? Wrong! The ball movement is so broken that every shot you have and every pass you make; the ball will hit at least 2 players before reaching the final destination… Game graphics are very good but at what cost? I would rather have the worst graphics in the world but have a game where players do not look like uncharged robots. If you are new to football games, I recommend you to play anything instead of PES 2020, even New Star Soccer would be a million times better option than this piece of work. Now I will just name couple of things that are also broken in this game: penalty system (you can apply so little power and push it slight to the side and It will go miles away from the goal), online (It takes forever to find somebody that you can play with and when you finally do the game is so laggy that you lose your nervs), running (I did not see that every time Mbappe starts running he pushes the ball forward like 5-10 meters and keeps runing, It is so broken that If you even try running somewhere in the midfield you will just lose the ball, you do not even have to worry about that)… There are million problems here and licensing is the smallest problem of PES 2020, you can not even call it a problem when you see the gameplay on the pitch. There are also some positives but very few: free kicks (are still nice and much better than in FIFA), master league (better than career mode in general, but still some transfers that happen are really unrealistic) but everything else is actually broken. And do not make me even start about goalkeepers that try to box the ball and are just not capable of doing that and the ball ends in 6/10 times right in their 16 yards… I do not like to give a zero since the master league looks nice off the pitch and coach mode is pretty neat, so I am thinking between 1 and 2, but since the game was over-hyped and we were promised the revolutionary changing football game It is 1 for me! My recommendation: Do not buy this game...… Expand

    The 2020 edition is the most realistic virtual football I have ever encountered. After learning the gameplay’s basics you get a lot of fun and each passing hour makes it even better. Shame that after finishing the career, checking out the multiplayer and playing a few exhibition matches there is nothing left to do here. [12/2019, p.64]
