Thank you EA for adding ads to UFC 4 Which is a 60$ game and even though you have said sorry because you didn’t think it would disrupt gameplay, we aren’t fools. First Madden and now this.I’m not blaming the game developers ,it’s the corporate executives that ruin it. Kicking EA even more while its down? Hell yeah. Like my Madden review, no I haven't played the game. However my review is still valid as I have played EA titles in the past.

Again, call it a "Surprise Delayed Review"

Making us watch Ads in a $60 game that we bough just TWO WEEKS after launch? This is absolutely ridiculous. I feel sorry for the people who actually put months of effort into the game only to have its reputation destroyed by EA’s scummy, penny pinching decision. Congratulations on losing yet another regular buyer.

EA just keep surprising us with disgusting business decisions..

So you charge us full price for video games then shove down real world advertisements down our throats? I dont think so. Bye bye EA.

I paid 60 bucks for ads. The game looks like UFC 3. Go and get a refund if it is not too late. Don’t buy this game.

This game sucks. It’s incomplete, it has glitchy animations, recycled fighter models, terrible design throughout, and even has ads. Not to mention our favorite staple of EA gaming, micro transactions. And this is all coming from someone who hasn’t even fought a competitive match online yet. And this is all coming from someone who hasn’t even fought a competitive match online yet. The gripes I’ve heard from the community who plays online the heaviest are just as bad. EA isn’t a gaming company anymore, they just pump out the least amount possible to convince us all that it’s actually a video game, only to realize underneath it’s nothing but a cash generator. I have never played a game where I felt like the people who made had no passion for what they were making more than this one. I honestly doubt there’s too many people involved in the process at EA that even know anything about MMA. And I would say Dana should be ashamed but he’s only about money the same way EA is. Damn shame for the rest of us who just want a game made by people as passionate about MMA and the UFC as the people who will be playing it. Expand

I wasn’t exactly enjoying the game at launch with the amount of micro-transactions making it feel like the free-to-play mobile version. I am disgusted at the addition of advertisements in game which were not present at launch or in reviews. This is a cheap cash grab by EA and I will endeavour to get a refund as this was not in the product I initially purchased.

Typical EA cut and paste. The last game came out in January of 2018 and all you could add is 15-20 new fighters? There are top ranked guys in their weight classes that are not in the game. UFC undisputed 3 came out 8 years ago and EA still can’t make a game that beats the game play. The gameplay sucks on this one. The one positive is the clinch system has been improved significantly in this version. All EA does is disappoint fans of simulation sports games, see Madden 21, NHL 20 and EA UFC 4. I played the last game religiously but I touch this one about once a week just to see if an update has came out to nerf the overpowered takedowns. Expand

    Worst game ever!

All bad. EA gamse Just killed ufc series. Career is just clicking buttons. You cannot make a face avatar. Now it is not possible to create a player with his own set of techniques. The ping and response in the game is terrible. The graphics are worse than the 3rd part. The realism of the game has disappeared altogether, it has become an arcade game. Added unnecessary

Same game with a worse skin. And the only changes they made are not only cosmetic but have managed to make the graphics far worse than the last installment. The "improved" grappling is a glitch orgy and EA should be ashamed of this abomination

Weakest game of the franchise yet. Let someone else make the game. It’s a piss poor follow up to UFC 3, which also was a pretty terrible MMA simulation game. Instead of improving controls, graphics, etc., they added tiger heads and gargantuan necklaces all with terrible physics. The game is just a dumpster fire and should be worth $5 instead of the ridiculous $60 price tag. The game is notWeakest game of the franchise yet. Let someone else make the game. In spite of sporadic issues with the controls and the monetization model, UFC 4 is a great fighter, even if one bases it solely on the expansive career mode. As I currently celebrate my first championship title and defending it, I wholeheartedly recommend this one, not only to fans of the sport, but to anyone looking for their next fighting game fix.

Long-time players will be disappointed at Joe Rogan’s absence from the commentary booth this time around, even if Daniel Cormier and John Anik’s excitable tones are perfectly serviceable. And that’s a phrase which perfectly sums up UFC 4 in general. It won’t surprise MMA fans, but it should delight. [Issue#180, p.72]
