Mar 26, 2014The added content is not a reason to repurchase this game if you've already played it, but if you don't, it's a great opportunity to do so.
-
Mar 25, 2014Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is the warm arrival of the musou genre on Playstation 4, since the game doesn't make use of the hardware's full potential, and has the same visuals lacking from the Playstation 3.
-
games(TM)Jun 3, 2014The jump to a new console hasn't done all that much for visuals in general, but the game is undoubtedly neater and smoother than it once was. [Issue#148, p.115]

Playstation Official Magazine UKMay 23, 2014If you're new to Warriors, this is the place to start. [June 2014, p.92]

Apr 1, 2014No, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is not a deeply cerebral experience, but in its defence, it never purports to be. If you're not a fan of chopping stuff up, DW8 is unlikely to change your mind but if you enjoy a little hack 'n slash every now and then, you could do a lot worse than Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition. Unless you already have the original Dynasty Warriors 8 version, of course. In which case you're probably better off hanging onto your cash.
-
Mar 31, 2014Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is exactly what we expected from an extended version of the last episode in the series: some new characters, a new campaign and a few minor changes to the gameplay.
-
Mar 31, 2014If you go into Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition knowing that it’s just a slightly better looking port, you’ll have a blast with its addictive mindless button mashing mechanics.
-
Mar 28, 2014If you’re eyeing up the PlayStation 3 version of Xtreme Legends then I can’t strongly recommend it. New characters are always great, as are new stages, but the lack of thought put into the addition to Ambition Mode is disappointing to say the least.
-
Apr 15, 2014This Next-Gen version of the last Tecmo-Koei's musou adds few scenarios and game modes, and shows a crisper graphics. But it doesn't change the substance of the game.
-
Apr 11, 2014This Edition is probably the best package you can expect from musou genre. Although the game has a lot of contents, the formula is the same, and the technical upgrade is far from the excellence.
-
Apr 8, 2014Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is best suited for newcomers to the franchise. If you keep your expectations reasonable before you jump in, then you can easily enjoy yourself.
-
Mar 27, 2014You really don’t want to pick this up if you already picked up the original.
-
Mar 25, 2014Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition has as much content as its name implies, and it’s the most stable the series has ever been. While it provides some mindless, button-mashing fun, it's still incredibly repetitive.
-
Games Master UKMay 4, 2014Repetition is the order of the day. [June 2014, p.79]
-
Apr 4, 2014Maybe Tecmo Koei should rethink the core design in the next game as, at this point, they are getting stale.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaApr 27, 2014A handful of extra content and a bit of a spit-shine do not a great next-gen package make. [May 2014, p75]
-
Apr 17, 2014Even if it's just a port, Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition deserved more. We could talk about enhanced visuals but the game is really far from beautiful. The battles are dynamic and the cast is huge. But it's not enough to see it as a gathering episode.
-
Apr 28, 2014A classic Dynasty Warriors game with a lot of content and a lot of repetitive fights... This series really needs to evolve.
