Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour doesn't enhance the titular protagonist's classic FPS ride in any massive ways. That said, it's a whole lot of fun, and it's perfect for people who want to revisit the game and for those who are fans of old school shooters.

Apart from the new levels and Duke’s great sense of humour, this anniversary edition doesn’t do enough to drag you away from the wealth of current FPS titles.

While not without some issues, Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour is absolutely a worthwhile release of an absolute classic. It is admittedly better played on a keyboard as designed, but the original title is given a clean representation with this version.

Although it's nowhere near the mess that Duke Nukem Forever was, this massive heap of fan service will fail to resonate with those unaccustomed to the breed of shooter found back in the 90s.

While it looks and sounds better than the original and even the Megaton Edition, there isn't really enough new here to warrant a purchase.

Old episodes play just how I remember. True 3D rendering makes the game look a bit more modern, looks nice. The new episode is really fun, classic Duke Nukem alien ass kicking. Nice new feature allowing you to continue after death wherever you please (from beginning of your playthrough, to the moment right before your death). Trophies, including a pretty easy platinum are a nice bonus. The sound effects are not very good honestly, seem to have no notable improvements. I also wished they could have remastered or just remade entirely those little cutscenes at the end of each episode. Looks terrible after completing a level in true 3D rendering. There is also a multiplayer mode which I haven't really tried yet. Just a quick game of deathmatch at Hollywood Holocaust.

Pretty cool package all together. Will probably be playing this version whenever the Duke 3D fever hits me again.

The new 3D rendering, sound FX and music, designer commentary, and other features like new Duke talk are all just added bonuses on top of what is easily the greatest possible version of this already historical game. You cannot go wrong with picking this game up. They also somehow managed to make playing the game with a controller work just as flawlessly as they did with a keyboard and mouse 20 years ago.
