    Gonna be straight-up.
I personally am quite fond of this game. It's not complicated, not Need for Speed and not The Crew. And I love that.
The controls are awesome, I like how the drift physics work. Races are rewarding, I often feel accomplished after successfully wielding a Ferrari F430 through the crazy streets of India. Graphics are really, really crisp. The mere fact that this is

The mere fact that this is the first racing game I've liked after Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (The latest one, of course) is surprising, even for me.
The club system needs work though, there isn't incentive enough for players to actively participate in club activities. Give out new cars, or something like that as rewards.
Content-rich updates and free DLCs could strengthen the game even more.

    Thank you.

This game is very good. It has very good graphics, a nice variety of cars and races and I like the club system as well. I think Forza however is better at the looks of it.

The start-up problems have not been forgotten but have been left behind as new tracks, cars, effects and online difficulties have been patched, augmented and tweeked. The handling has developed over time, with the cars being more responsive, and varying with the delightful weather changes that come about . The amount of cars available is crazy, and although this game may not be to the car development fans likes, there are enough cars and varied performances to keep any racing fan interested.
The online racing is fast and frantic, with different types of event for variety, and although any racing game will attract the hoonatic who likes to crash, some penalties for their actions tend to nullify their worst excesses. Saying this more balance to these penalties could be developed to make the ardent racers experience better and for them to feel less aggrieved when one of these hoonatics hits them into a corner and the less respectful racer comes off best. The club aspect is also a good feature allowing like minded friends to work together with a shared goal, not often seen in any game other than co-op shootem-ups. overall a good game which has developed well.

It has ups and downs...One of the best graphics in a racing game ive ever seen..The world and cars look so real...The game is fun to play online...Now about the bad things...You cant modify your car,you get penalties with every collission,or when you get 2 meters off road..It is a nice experience to play with your friends..

It really is a shame that this game was released unfinished. Now that the most problems are fixed and several updates are made, this game has still a bad rating but driveclub has become a really great game.

Stunning visuals, great sound, awesome speed and feeling, fixed servers, collision and controls and many new events, cars and even bikes make this game a must buy now for every racing Fan!

Driveclub is a true to it's name racer no powerups, open world areas or cops to get in the way. Driveclub is a professional racing game but not a racing simulator. Driveclub is a good experience either way if you love cars and the thrill of racing like I do. Driveclub isn't perfect though it has it's fair share of issues such as aggressive AI (sometimes) and confusing tracks, but the graphics and sound effects are perfect and well implemented. Driveclub is a good game for racing fans chances are if you enjoy games like the Crew this game will feel more complex but familial. If you are into action packed highway battles then turn away! This game is not for you! I guess I am the rare breed of gamer who can respect Need For Speed's action packed gameplay as well as Driveclubs realistic gameplay and races. The music in the main menu are exhilarating and get me in the mood to race. Driveclub also has a good leveling system while based on how you drive you earn fame that will go to you leveling up and unlocking more vehicles and challenges. Driveclub is a cup of tea that's not for everyone the hardcore racing fans might be turned of by lacking features and easier gameplay compared to the bigger titles out there. While as the arcade racing fans might be turned of by a lack of excitement and nitrous. Casual gamer may simply find the game to boring to play. I say it is a good game to pick up and play because it is as close to a racer you will get without having to buy a simulator and the complex and expensive equipment needed to play with said game. Driveclub can get difficult at times but the game can be learned by almost anyone if just a few games. That does not mean necessarily that Driveclub is a bad game but it is a unique experience.

Additionally, each of the many cars available are beautifully rendered both inside and out. To play, I personally feel this is leaning very heavily towards arcade, the narrow roads on some tracks/routes offer an incredible sense of speed but do also lead to multiple collisions with other cars but at least this is not just restricted to the players as AI controlled vehicles can be equally aggressive with each other as well, so it never feels unfair.
All in all a great game for the less serious racer who just likes to have a blast down a road or round a track but likes to be dazzled by spectacular graphics and effects. At the price this can now be picked up for, it's a no brainer!

The game is missing a lot of content. It has no variety,it has no split screen,it has no car modification and has a lack of single player fun.But you can see that developer worked hard on this and because of that,it's 8.

It's one of the best driving games I have played in a long time. It's very well balanced, it's not too "Arcady" bit just the right amount. I would compare the driving style with Forza. The reason why it only get an 8 on the ratings is because they charge extra for a lot of the cars in the game. Speaking of cars I think the game in general just need some more cars.

This is the best looking car racing game I have played. Cars and weather is done beautifully here. If you are into driving simulators you probably won't like this one because Driveclub is more an arcade game. It is a shame that you cannot customise and buy cars. You can only change car paint. That's a shame but despite that this game is seriously fun to play.

While Driveclub had its problems with the online servers at launch it still holds up as a good racing game. I had many hours of fun driving around the tracks. A nice variety of tracks, cars, acheivements and challenges can keep you going. However I think the lack of customization was a disappointment and the fact they seemed to split up the game into different DLC.

Controls: This is where people will argue a bit about. It's aracade like. The drifting and driving mechanics are forgiving, if you like racing sims this won't be your cup of tea. If you like casual racing like Need for Speed Shift then this might be up your alley.

Sound: vehicles sound great and depending on whether your in the drivers perspective or not the sound changes. Tires screech wonderfully when drifting. However the music, which is pretty good (being a mix of techno and rock), is OFF as a default setting. Why?!

Gameplay: The tours, single events and challenges are fun and addictive. Winning stars unlocks cars, it's almost like a FPS progression system (or maybe I just don't play enough racing games. However, one of the most intriguing things about Driveclub is the clubs and the social aspect. Unfortunately for the past two days ONLINE FEATURES HAVE BEEN OFF, meaning I haven't been able to enjoy the game as developers have been touting about for so long.

Conclusion: great game for gamers looking to drop in and out of races. Racing through Norway, India, Chile, and other places is great fun. But cars feel limited at 50, and the possibility of more cars only through PAID DLC rubs me the wrong way. It's a beautiful racing game, but NOT A RACE SIM, that sounds great and has a "social" identity. But I can NOT forgive the servers being down and a huge aspect of the game not being accessible. I would have scored it an 8 depending on multiplayer but can't until I try it.

A somewhat arcade style racing game, with uninspired track design and not enough cars out of the box. With free and paid for DLC, the car count has climbed to a reasonable level, but it's clear there was a plan to milk Driveclub from the start.

To be fair, the game has got progressively better since its troublesome launch, and a few tracks have been added too (though as of yet not integrated into the rather short Tour mode). The promise of realism is largely broken – cars all feel the same to drive, and have ratings bars to replace actual critical stats such as acceleration, power and top speed. The online aspect was nowhere near as "social" as I'd hoped, and most challenges sent by friends were left unanswered as there was no real incentive to complete them.

However, Driveclub does look amazing. Both the cars and the surroundings are gorgeous, and can be captured brilliantly with the game's photo mode. It's a shame the game wasn't as good as I'd hoped, because it looks like no other game I've seen. It's also a shame there are no licences tracks, as the developers would have done a fantastic job recreating them.

However, the most disappointing thing of all is the lack of variation in cars. No Japanese models at all, no American cars until a few updates ago. The good thing is you can pick this game up for virtually nothing now, so it's worth a gamble. It gets a seven as it has improved remarkably since launch, but it's no GT or Forza.

Raming from behind for no reason whatsoever, overtaking and slowing down for no apparent reason.

No aside from technical pros of the game, there isn't that much to do, the connection is still bad, loading times for online features are extraordinary. If you somehow lose the connection then your point wont be added to club points. The whole levelling system looks fun, and is addictive, but iv'e completed all the events and collected all the stars in just few days. And what now? Multiplayer? It does not work. Repeating the same tracks? Maybe that's all you can do.

So I've played it for a bit more and now I understand what this game is. As a realistic driving game, it doesn't do a very good job because the way the cars handle is far from how they would handle in real life. As a fun racing game it does the job well for more casual racers.

It does this because it is much easier to get into, learn how to throw the car around the track and have a fun racing experience that does not involve staring at a holographic racing line waiting for it to turn red. This is thanks to the short braking distances, so you don't have to spend half an hour learning the brake points of each track so you don't go blundering into a gravel pit if you brake 50m too close to a turn (which isn't even possible in DC, thanks to invisible walls). So in DriveClub you would learn a track and have fun with it in 4 minutes, while in say F1 2013 you'd have to spend up to an hour to learn the track and tweak your car before you can really set some lap times.

So for a game to get casual gamers a taste of the thrill of racing, this game succeeds... initially.

Unfortunately the single player mode is really poor for a racing game - you basically either do races, drift events and time trials and complete objectives to get 3 stars in each event. Compared to Codemasters racing games, this career mode is just rubbish. In TOCA you race multiple championships, each a different racing series - V8 supercars, street racing, open wheelers, rally, German touring cars (DTM) and classic cars to name a few. In Dirt 3 there are also different types of events - Rally stages in Finland, Norway, Kenya, Monaco, Michigan, rallycross, Trailblazer events with insanely fast and dangerous cars, Buggies, Trophy trucks and Gymkhana, and the tracks are challenging and extremely rewarding when you do a run without a mistake. In F1 there's a full season career mode where for each race you have practice sessions to learn the track, tweak your car and drive until your lap times are on par with the AI's. Then there are the qualifying sessions where you have to drive your best to get a good grid spot which could mean the difference between a race result of 15th or 1st. Then you have the actual race that could last from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours which is a test of endurance not to make a mistake and consistently drive fast, and there's pit stops so you have to manage your tyres. Then there's DriveClub's career mode, where you drive similar tracks in either a hot hatch, a sports car or a supercar, and there's three objectives to do. And you'd have finished it in 10 or so hours.

For a racing game focussing on non-racing cars, its car list very small, which is made much worse because it is not diverse at all.

For the few multiplayer races I did, every race I was spun out, and in the end I didn't have a good impression from it.

Doing the face-off challenges are fun, but it kinda feels like i'm wasting time driving the same stretch of road repeatedly, while I could be doing so much more in other racing games I have.

I'll give it a 7/10, because that's what it would probably feel like for the people this game is suited for. However I'm not going to play this game much because it made me realise I can have a better experience in other racing games that I already have.

Well it may be ok, but I want game in which when I hit other car driving 200 mph the cars should... just react like they should. See the example Burnout made years ago. I want to drive fast and feel it. Well... I really would love to see another Burnout instead of "Driveclub" "GTurismo" "Forza" tank-car "simulation"...

Seven, Seven is not a bad score... Just not a great score. The main negative points have been highlighted in most other reviews the overly aggressive AI competitors and server delays. In its current state this game is still good, a few tweaks to the AI and handling and i think it would be with an extra point at least.

its a solid racer and no where near as bad as some would suggest, yes there are some teething troubles with the on-line side of things but i am sure this will be sorted out soon enough.

Driveclub is comprehensively the best looking racing game I've ever played. Evolution Studios should be praised for the mind blowing consistency across the cars and the tracks. It always appears photo realistic, and anyone who's in denial of this needs to have their eyes tested. This is an opinion of course, but I have reason to consider this more of a fact.

It always appears photo realistic, and anyone who's in denial of this needs to have their eyes tested. This is an opinion of course, but I have reason to consider this more of a fact.

HOWEVER, Driveclub, in essence is a conventional arcade racer, that attempts to divide itself from other racing titles (with mini challenges within races such as average speed face offs and drifting, not to mention clubs) but none of these features have ever ensured its individuality. Much like the studio's last title, Motorstorm, it's nothing particularly special, but it's by no means a bad game.

If you have a PS4 and love cars, I do recommend picking this up just so you can drool over the beauty of the mostly European models, but this is no adequate substitute for Gran Turismo. You'll be much better off buying this game cheap. It has some promising DLC coming up, with both payed and free DLC packs released on a monthly basis until June 2015, but only buy the DLC if you think the game itself is good enough.

You know what they say... never judge a book by its cover.

I wasn't expecting any sim style game, but I was hoping for a better arcade game than GRID 2, and it is. The cars I've raced feel different on handling (using a controller), the single player is similar to other games but it's good with the friends leader-board for each event challenging you to go one better than your friends. If you join a club you can unlock additional cars and challenge other clubs with your good times. It has a very fast feel to it, so I'm not sure how it would be on a wheel with FFB....it might just be a bit too quick.

Graphics are alright, nothing spectacular compared to PC racing games. Better than anything I've seen on the PS3 as you'd expect, but I was expecting a bit more.

Audio is alright, again nothing spectacular but good enough.

Multiplayer even worked when trying it which I didn't expect after all the server issues on release. It is slow to start a race though, and there is a bug if you join a friends session and then start a single player race (it doesn't join the MP session and stops your SP race).

I probably wouldn't pay £40+ for the game, but a pre-owned one isn't bad value for money.

I bought the PS4 mainly for this game. The game isn't as bad as people say it is, and it's not as good as it should be. Visuals are great, sound is a little disappointing mainly when you drift and all the cars do the same annoying noise. Gameplay isn't bad, but it isn't great too. Forza Horizon 2 is way better than this, but this is still a nice game to have if you own a PS4.

Definitely not a bad racing game by any stretch of the imagination, especially considering the relatively low amount of racing games on the PS4 alongside it, such as The Crew, Ride and NFS: Rivals. Honestly I wasn't expecting much from it based on things I heard about it in the past, but once I played it, I put that outlook behind me, What I found was a very solid racing game as a whole. The driving is tight and challenging, encouraging lift-off to aid going around corners, the detail and textures, particularly in vehicles and particle effects are stunningly photorealistic, particularly the rain effects (the best I've seen in a game so far), and personally I loved playing in the first person camera. It felt dynamic, like every little input you made had an effect.
On the negative side though, my one major complaint regards the Tour mode. I've played a lot of racing game careers, and Driveclub, I thought had one of the most shallow career modes I have ever experienced. The progress you make in career is tangential to the leveling system, the latter which measures "Fame" (think PGR's Kudos but in Driveclub) in all game modes, which you earn to unlock cars and liveries mainly. Because of that I felt that there was no reason to play the Career, but just continue racing and drifting again and again. I mean, what are the career stars materially earning me?
Other complaints, the driving can get TOO challenging in extreme conditions, the soundtrack could be more inspired, the damage, while incorporating detailed scratches is generally weak and the events are too strict, deducting Fame for veering off-road and hitting the track or other cars.
Overall thought, if you're looking for a pure social racing experience, I'd recommend getting it at a lower price, maybe €30 or so. Don't expect much from the game though, the single-player experience is shallow at best, play multiplayer for the best Driveclub experience.

I bought it on Amazon for $30 bucks and I rather enjoyed it. It did more right than wrong unlike The Crew. It has nice graphics, decent physics engine, good online interface and a nice variety of race modes. However limiting the vehicle roster to only European Marquees was a little disappointing (I knew this going in) but the vehicles are represented very well in their rendering. Also the online club, modes and challenges are excellent.

This game has 1 major problem though, Mobile Racing games. Yes, Your cell phone probably has access to a better racing game. I refer more specifically to Real Racing 3. While the graphics won't match up for obvious reasons the physics model is just as good and offers a better variety of cars and more of them (50 vs 109) with time shunted multi-player. Also it offers real racing damage that degrades the cars performance offer incentive to drive better and not crash about. Also you can mod and tune (in a limited fashion) almost every vehicle.

I am glad I was not an early adopter and missed its tumultuous release. However it is an enjoyable and beautiful game to play if you want something that isnt too serious simulation like. I recommend it but, again, not for more than 30 bucks.

While the game looks pretty and works on a technical level (after months of getting the online patched), the cars are not fun to control and I personally feel that this game's take on simulation is not fun in the least bit. I found making simple turns to be absolutely frustrating and I found the online mechanics included with the ps plus edition to be pointless leaderboard esque challenges that I could care less about.

The ps plus edition is pretty barebones and gives access to 2 basic cars at the start plus one car only available in a specific starter race. If you don't care enough about racing games to buy one, this might be your best bet at the moment of scratching that itch on a ps4 for free.

Unfortunately, I've had the game for 3 days and I haven't been able to get online even once as yet. The single player mode is short by driving game standards and horribly repetitive given that there are only 3 event types: Race, Time Trial and Drift. While it has some nice tracks, there are only 2 types of those. There are Country Roads, and Circuit Tracks. No town or city tracks, no real world tracks, just boring proprietary country roads and circuit tracks. Driveclub also lacks the ability to customize or tune your vehicle, lacks splitscreen and lacks much of a reason to care once you've finished the Tour mode. Another issue is the AI, they have very little awareness of where the driver is on the track, and will quite happily drive straight through you if you're in their way. Amusingly, the game will penalize YOU for this as well. Driveclub's problem is that it lacks so many things fans of racing games would expect it to have, and while it's far from a bad game, it's not one I see myself playing in a months time Expand

It's not a bad game by any means but it would be hard to recommend it wholeheartedly. There is a lot of fun here for those who like the sim approach but don't like to be bogged down with tuning menus, and for arcade racing fans who perhaps want something a little more real, but this list of people is perhaps a very short one and this game I feel probably slips between the cracks. The game isn't awful, but it's not great. It's one of the best looking games I've ever seen, but, sadly, there's really not much content. It is disappointing because, given the extra time they had to work with it, I thought it would be great. It feels like a tech demo for the PlayStation 4's power, but rarely evokes a higher feeling.

After being delayed over a year now i expected a much more polished game. Weather effects being delayed post launch is a sign that still after this long delay they still didn't have time to polish and finish the game.

In summary, if your a car enthusiast and you want the best bang for your buck. Consider Forza horizon 2 or Project cars later this year.

Driveclub has many problems. Even when the game is working properly it's both bland and solid.

The in-game sound reminds me a lot of the original playstation. it's there, but it isn't great. music is fast paced electric genre. there doesn't seem to be many songs though. most engines don't have a personality and the off-track noises sound ripped out of ps1. it's quite awkward. that word really sums this game up. it's not bad or good. it's awkward.

The handling isn't like any other racer i've played. it does what you don't expect it do it. it's pretty easy to drive yet you never really know if the wheels will lose grip or not.

The AI is odd too. sometimes they all follow each other in a line. other times they will give you a ram. there's a little bit of 'catch up' if you fall behind. but you won't generally get 3 seconds ahead.

The car list is the biggest problem with the game. (except for online still struggling to work a week after launch) it's ALL euro cars. yet there's no lamborghini. there's also no true american cars or japanese cars. but there's some hot hatches which are each very boring to race with. again, awkward is the key word.

there's not many modes. there's drift (which is actually powersliding because you don't really drift. there's assists that you can't turn off which prevents you from drifting) then there's standard races. that's it. so single player is pretty vanilla. the tracks are okay. not professionally designed but some are pretty good. others are just there...

The graphics are nice and the clubs are a decent feature. it's a very accessible game but there's not a lot to do. this game has awkwardness that just left me confused which has never happened to me before.

The physics are pure arcade, but work pretty well. The handling is direct and it doesn't feel floaty like many other arcade racers from the recent years.

The offline career mode is a little underwhelming. The amount of events the tour mode comes with is simply not enough, and it's appalling that they keep 176 (!) events aside as paid DLC. You can get them for €20 with the season pass, but for a game going for the full retail price, they should have been included. Some of the DLC will be provided for free, but it doesn't make up for the stuff they make you pay extra for.

Online, the game was a disaster on release but is gradually improving. Still a lot of bugs though with what should have been the core of this game.

To date, Driveclub STILL sets the example for how Season Passes SHOULD be done, with one year's seasons pass adding over 10 new tours, multiple livery packs, and a whole host of new cars.

Yet I feel compelled to drop the game BACK down to a 5 because, over the last few updates, whatever they've done to the AI and physics has made the game completely not fun. I played this game a LOT without problems but after the last two updates and tour pack additions the AI is now extremely aggressive to the point where they'll purposely ram you, knocking you from a top three finish to a bottom three finish - and YOU get penalized for the contact even though the AI initiated it. Front Wheel Drive supercars now have the same physics as a plane which is to say good luck navigating corners.

Whatever they did with the last few patches has taken a game that had become very good and reverted it back into a mess. I'm so very disappointed. It still looks great and still sets the benchmark for how to do DLC but be prepared to be angry at a whole lot of physics and AI cheese.

Driveclub follows what became a very worrying trend in 2014. Games constantly over promising and constantly under delivering. The true problem with this trend is that it immediately sets a game up for failure which is sad because most games which underperform still have many elements which are worth praising. Whether it be AAA titles such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Assassin'sDriveclub follows what became a very worrying trend in 2014. Games constantly over promising and constantly under delivering. The true problem with this trend is that it immediately sets a game up for failure which is sad because most games which underperform still have many elements which are worth praising. Whether it be AAA titles such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Assassin's Creed Unity or even other driving games such as Ubisoft's The Crew, 2014 was a rocky year which saw many fan expectations go up in flames mainly due to the unrelenting power of the HYPE train. 2014 saw many underperformers and Driveclub is certainly amongst them.

Driveclub looked to be this amazing next generation online driving game that would push the boundaries of a virtual driving experience. The graphics looked close to reality and the gameplay smooth and enjoyable. However this wasn't to be. The graphics whilst good underdelivered and the gameplay feels clunky and not quite complete. The driving mechanics are poor and personally I believe they can't even compete with Forza 4, a last generation title. It is so easy to lose control of the car that drifting becomes a massive challenge and a rare sight when done properly. Don't mistake this for being an enjoyable challenge. This is poor development and the fact that Driveclub was delayed so that the game could be polished makes it even more of an embarrassment that it is more fun to drive on a last generation xbox exclusive title than on the system seller racer that Driveclub was supposed to be.

I could criticise Driveclub all day, believe me. However as with most things these days, there are things that it gets right. The progression system is particularly satisfying and gives reason to keep playing. I have a fond memory of unlocking a Maserati at level 5. The sense of achievement you get with every unlock is one of the big things Driveclub does well. The tracks are also very good. The simple variety you get from just reversing the circuit is often more than enough to ensure Driveclub doesn't become tedious, however it far from makes up for poor driving mechanics in a DRIVING game. The driving really is poor and shockingly unrealistic. It feels like your driving a box on wheels.

In conclusion Driveclub is a mediocre driving game. The satisfying progression system along with good track variety and good graphics, all encourage replay value. However the good graphics are not as good as we expected and are undermined by the gameplay anyway. The gameplay is clunky and in no way does it feel like your driving an ACTUAL car, you can easily tell it's a game is what I'm saying. Mainly though all of Driveclub's negatives emphasise one thing clearly. Even as a hardcore do or die driving game fan, you don't have to or even need to buy it. There are much better driving games about. Funnily enough a lot are on last gen. Go and pick up any Forza game and you'll be happier. If you want to stay on next gen though, just buy Project Cars or wait for the new Need for Speed because in a driving game, driving mechanics are everything.
