First I need to say: never play SONY Gran Turismo 7 in "Ray Tracing enabled" mode, because the quality is terrible, it seems to be playing on a SONY PS3, the image resolution at the time of rendering seems to be reduced to 720p and it seems to be just stretched to 1080p/2160p.

And even in Performance mode, which will present the best graphics quality and resolution (it appears to be rendered at 1080p) still the graphics quality of the SONY Gran Turismo 7 game is absolutely disappointing, considering the 9.2 TFLOPs of graphics capacity promised by SONY for the SONY PS5.

Just to give you an idea, the Take-Two GTA5 (SONY PS4 Pro version) looks better graphically than the SONY GT7 on the SONY PS5 console.

In fact, running SONY Drive Club game (SONY PS4 version as it was never remastered even for SONY PS4 Pro), through Backward Compatibility mode on SONY PS5, SONY Drive Club still looks better graphically than GT7 on SONY PS5.

When I say GRAPHICALLY, I'm referring to how real (close to reality) the image looks, I'm not referring to frames per second or resolution.

Honestly, my disappointment is such that I would rather pay this price for the SONY Drive Club game remastered for SONY PS5 than this SONY Gran Turismo 7 game that disappointed me horribly in terms of Graphics Quality.

SONY, forget about Ray Tracing, we want Quality Graphics!

When it comes to gameplay, I still prefer SONY Drive Club. The only things I like about Gran Turismo 7 are the Museum, the Car Mall, and the fact that it's the same Car Simulator that follows the pattern of the Gran Turismo series, in addition to keeping the same Tracks from the series, as I did.

But Graphically, the picture is so disappointing that I feel that I was assaulted by the high price charged by SONY for this SONY GT 7 game with these graphics that when playing on SONY PS5, it looks like they are actually being run by SONY PS4 Pro when it is running. in "Performance mode", and appears to run on a SONY PS3 when running in "Ray Tracing mode enabled".

But the worst thing about a game, which is marketed in physical media, is the internet connection required to play, especially Career and/or Single Player mode.
In fact, I really liked being able to play with split screen, me and 03 friends competing, with the screen divided into 04, using the same Console.

That's why it's not worth buying the SONY PS5 or the SONY PS4... oh, how much regret.... The best is GT 6 on SONY PS3, there's no way... Besides, I have a 3D Projector with Active 3D glasses, and I have many Blu-ray Disc 3D movies, but only SONY PlayStation 3 supports 3D.

SONY PS5 and SONY PS4/PS4 Pro will have an advantage over SONY PS3 only in the fact that it supports SONY PS VR, but the graphics quality on SONY PS5 should be much better than SONY PS4/PS4 Pro on VR.

Anyway, the best game for SONY PS4/PS4 Pro & SONY PS5 is without a doubt the game: SONY Drive Club.
The last best SONY Gran Turismo was GT6 for Career mode, and GT Sport for graphics.

But between GT Sport and Drive Club, I prefer Drive Club, especially since Drive Club's graphics are better even than GT7's graphics (which are already better than GT Sport's graphics).
That is, Drive Club is better than all games in the Gran Turismo series, including Gran Turismo 7, Drive Club is better, especially in graphics quality.

GT7 is better than GT Sport in graphics quality, but in gameplay, GT7 is the worst game in the history of the Gran Turismo series.
GT Sport is better than GT6 in graphics quality, but in gameplay, GT Sport is the second worst game in the history of the Gran Turismo series.

GT6 is the best game in the history of the Gran Turismo series.
On SONY PS3, there is no better racing game than GT6.
On SONY PS4/PS4 PRO, PS5 there is no better racing game than SONY Drive Club, although it has not been remastered even for the PS4 Pro, so there will never be a remastered version for the PS5.

The studio that produced SONY Drive Club was shut down by SONY for making the game stupidly better (in graphic quality) and better looking than any other racing game, humiliating the Gran Turismo series games in such a way that SONY shut it down. the Studio that produced Drive Club, in addition, SONY forbade the remastering of the Drive Club game for SONY PS4 Pro and SONY PS5, as the game was so graphically beautiful that it would make people repulse spending money and play Gran Turismo games.

Gran Turismo Sport was released to try to make people forget about Drive Club, but the failure of "advance in graphics quality" between GT Sport and GT7 is so massive that it's impossible not to compare it to Drive Club and note that both, GT Sport and GT7, are inferior to the Drive Club, graphically.

I recommend your last GT game to be GT6, only available for SONY PS3. If you have a SONY PS4/PS4 Pro/PS5, I strongly recommend, just play Drive Club & Drive Club VR. Stop wasting time with Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7!

While there are no real world tracks, the tracks they've made are among the best layouts I've played. There's also a few that get too twisty for their own good.....the AI is not afraid to run you over.

This game should have instant replay. That's a major detraction. I also wish there was a way to assign paint to a single car instead of 4 paints to apply to all cars.

If you buy the full game and the season pass, there is a ton of content to be enjoyed. Lots of new events, cars, and tracks which expand on the already pretty lengthy tour event of the main game. So far, I have had no problems with multiplayer, and there have been no lag spikes for me. The game itself is beautiful in terms of the PS4's capabilities. Recommended if you are looking for a racing game that is semi serious. This is not a simulation, nor is it an arcade game, it lies somewhere in the middle; Which is exactly what I was hoping for. There are so many things to consider, such as how the night, rain etc. affect the view up ahead and whether someone will bash into your bumper. These all add to the tension, just as you can bump someone off the road too.

The most recent patch brought weather to the game. As much as I would say its not a game changer and I would of liked to of seen this at launch, it is defiantly a very welcomed addition. While whizzing down the course at 150mph with the rain on your windscreen you will drive differently so its defiantly not just a new coat of paint but a lot more than that.

Over all I am very happy with the game.

Being someone who's got this game after a few patches and a recent content update I can tell you it's one of the best games on the PS4 right now and one of the best console racers I've played.

Let's take a step back from all of the reviews here and get this clear - Driveclub IS an arcade racer, that is immediately apparent on your first drive so if you're expecting a sim then wait for Project Cars or GT. If you want a casual racer that looks beautiful, has been built around an online experience and you aren't bothered that this game isn't trying to be a serious racer then you'll enjoy yourself - very much so.

Driving physics are relatively simple, cars brake quickly and turn very responsively. You can easily handle when it goes into a slide and you're rarely see yourself arse wrong way on the track. They don't feel heavy, it's like a mix between Ridge Racer and GRID.

The graphics, especially weather visuals are amazing - in this sense Driveclub is in a league of it's own and I think this has distorted peoples views on what this game was trying to be, despite is achieving a stunning realistic look it is still trying to be arcade at the core.

There are two points that lose the perfect 10 from me though and it has been mentioned a few times; the online racing is dirty and there is no motivation to try and take the corners properly. To give you a normal scenario, someone can just use you as a brake and usually come out of top to your frustration and it's something I sincerely hope is patched.

The online experience isn't bad now from a technical point; I've been kicked out of my session a few times but not often, but this for it's still shaky stability loses it a point. I'm impressed by how easy it is to use though and this does give it massive scope to improve.

Graphics are awesome, and the game plays great. Driveclub probably deserved the horrible reviews when it released, but now they have to come from trolls or those that suck at driving games.

Expand

Well as many complaints go they're along the lines of no customization (which was never promised of shown off so that was the fault of those who thought that), there's no weather that was promised (that will be in a future update that will be coming something next month), and how it's not FH2 (really? apples to oranges people. That's like saying Star Wars Rogue Squadron is identical to Battlefront 2). Anyways getting back on track (pun intended), this game offers everything that was promised and shown so if you're looking for something that wasn't shown, you best look elsewhere for a racing game.

The driving and handling feels like somewhere between a sim and an arcade racer which is great for those that want a semi realistic yet fast paced racing game. The graphics are stunning and probably are the best on any next-gen console. However, some maps don't particularly look "stunning" during certain times of day where they might look ravishing at another time of day. This game really is all about the little details though. When I was driving in a race when the other cars went past some leaves on the ground they actually flew upwards and back. The headlights and taillights also are very impressive as they capture so much detail. The cars are arguably the best looking feature of this game but the environments are also gorgeous, especially around sunset. The AI in the offline mode is also very fascinating. In the Forza entries that I've played (Forza 3 & 4) the AI was very weak and the other drivers never seemed to be trying all too hard or they were psychotic at times. Here with Driveclub, the AI is very consistent yet unpredictable. Many times in a race I would find myself having cars trying to get ahead of me but not in a programmed way, almost as if it were another player playing as them making human-like decisions.

The soundtrack is lackluster since it's not diverse and it is solely performed by the electronic artist "Hybrid" who have created some of breakbeats best albums. The soundtrack isn't bad by any means but if you're looking for a multitude of genres and artists, you're not in luck here. The presentation to the game is good, not great, but good. I wish to see more models for your characters and I hope they'll add more American and Japanese cars as future DLC. The only major problem I have with this game is that the controls aren't explained very well. They're self informative but I wish they would've added some sort of training or practice mode that would you become better at the game instead of using trial and error to learn new techniques to better your driving. I also wish the courses were more diverse blending city and countryside versus it being all countryside. I hope to see in future DLC a United States or United Kingdom location to race in offering cities and countryside. Other than that, those are my only problems with the game that actually make me not enjoy the game as much. The hype level wasn't high so it wasn't disappointing for me as I knew what I was getting into days beforehand. This game is meant for more of a casual racer and those who just want to have some fun while racing.

For those of you who are worried about no split-screen, worry not because the developer said they would add that feature if enough people asked for it, so just keep your voice heard. The menus are slick and easy to control and the interference and loading times are quick and responsive. Many of the complaints here that give it 0 stars are reviews that I wouldn't trust since they seem to not be putting any thought into their reviews so I'd take theirs with a grain of salt. Despite that it not being for everyone, I would recommend testing out the free version if you're even slightly interested and judge for yourself, because who's opinion matters more on what you think of something, yours or everyone else's? I hope you enjoy it as much as I do if you try it out in the free version. I give Driveclub a strong 8 to light 9. Y'all just know this is my opinion, right?

Graphics of the game is what makes it appealing mostly. The driving is actually pretty responsive and the handling for each car is different which makes the game actually fun when unlocking new cars. Wish it was open world but its track offer different styles of play whether you want to speed up on straight aways or test your turning skills.

racing games are all very different. i have long since lost trust in the idea that what i am controlling feels like the real thing. but driveclub feels good. feels like im throwing a giant piece of metal along the asphalt at some ludicrous speed. then i get better at it, and am satisfied. the game facilitates this.

many are slamming the difficulty, but this bar is set by the player. i have never had more fun playing a racing game when i am trying to break some ridiculously low threshold on my lap / track times in driveculb. and the time i spend in this game is NOT in the tour modes, because getting gold stars just doesn't do that much for me. finding the right racing line does. not for hours at a time, but as a relaxation tool (usually listening to some new music while i play - ingame music is, ahhh, repetitive).

if you currently own, and are whiny about, this game, i recommend turning off the minimap, setting the event crowd size to none (removes turn warning flags), changing the gear type to manual, and seeing how well you can do against yourself. you just might find some combo of track and car that satisfies in a big way, however subtly.

so, ahm, yeah. rant done. go chase some ghosts ;p

This game is not the broken game that we saw on release. It's come a long way, and it is fantastic. If you're into racing games, I highly recommend it. There are a ton of tracks, and a decent amount of customization for your cars, some of which are based on your club.

Season pass adds a lot (Cars, tracks, single player races) and is definitely worth the money unlike a lot of other season passes.

Multiplayer runs okay, could be better but it's pretty much the same to a lot of other racing games.

Cons: Lacking cars(Although they add a free car every month plus a bunch of DLC) lacking music, only 30 fps (Which surprisingly isn't horrible) Aliasing can be pretty in your face sometimes but it's not too bad, could do with some more race tracks though. AI can be pretty goofy. More paint and visual customisation would be nice.

Now, after several hours in the game, I can fullheartedly say that DriveClub now, after all those patches and DLCs, has become what it should have been at his release - the ultimative PS4 racing game so far.
The graphics are simply put stunning, the weather effects and cars just look breathtakingly aweseome, so is the soundtrack and sound effects. The overall presentation is extremely stylish and polished, menus look very good and are well organised, very short loading times too.
Controls are smooth but need some practise, very good sense of speed overall.
For me, DriveClub is the predecessor of my beloved Project Gotham Racing Series - it plays and rewards exactly the same (no Kudos here though, but something quite same ^^).
The only real downside and complaint I have is the difficulty - DriveClub is very very hard, sometimes unforgiving, the AI is mostly flawless and AI drivers stick together like glued (hello NeedForSpeed) - this leads to some frustration, although I heard a rumor that an "easy difficulty" might be added in soon.
The variety of cars is good, so are the tracks, although there is a real lack of "city"-tracks.
Cant say a thing about the multiplayer though, I dont play games online anymore, so my rating is just for the single player!
All in all, at such a low price, theres hardly any better choice for PS4 racing fans - and DriveClub looks and plays so stunning that it also appeals to people that are not so into racing games. It belongs to the PS4 library!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. We all know about the problems Driveclub had a launch I mean the game was slated by all the media but since its launch it a completely different racer. With the constant support from Evolution Studios it has evolved into what it was meant to be at launch a pure beast of an Simcade racer. Note that I said Simcade and not simulator or arcade because it's a fine balance of both. You can slide your car like in NFS or simply drive like a pro its your chose. First off Driveclub is visually the best racer you'll ever see, the rain drops on the windscreen to the heavy snow falling as you drive at over 200 mph in a La Ferrari is simple stunning. The dynamic weather makes racing exciting knowing that at any time a race can go from being sunny to a rain storm in minutes, it changes your perception of the track and how you drive your car. The night racing is fantastic and challenging, I found myself immersed in the challenge of keeping my car on the track. The car roster at the start of Driveclub was 50 cars but with the constant DLC support it has grown with manufacturers such as Lamborghini and Nissan being added as well as cars like the Viper and Corvette. Racing is fun, fast, and fluid, the quick challenges that are available while you race keep things fresh, challenges such as drifting around a corner to get the highest points or beating another opponents top speed through a specific sector make racing exciting. All the cars sound spectacular and look amazing inside and out from a Golf Gti to a Ferrari FXX I haven't seen a level of detail that has come close to Driveclubs. photo mode is also a fantastic feature with lots of options of how you would like to take your pictures with various tints and glares that make the cars and environments look photo realistic. Driveclub Bikes witch is a new expansion to the Driveclub universe is very good, it can be bought as an add-on or as a standalone download. There are a good selection of bikes from Honda to BMW to Kawasaki there is plenty to choose from, with more bikes and cars being added as free downloads each month. The bikes look stunning and the sense of speed you get when racing is unrivalled, it adds a whole new dimension to the game and makes the game even more fun. You can also customise the colours of your riders leathers so your rider looks unique. The career mode is challenging to, each event has a certain number of challenges you must complete in order to collect all of the stars and complete that event. There are more new events being added to Driveclub and at the moment there is plenty of racing to be done both on and offline. Online racing can be difficult with some racers preferring to ram others rather then race clean but thankfully you can set up a private room were you and your friends can race in peace, chose your own settings, what cars to race in, how many laps etc.Overall Driveclub is a fantastic game that's accessible to all yet challenging even to the best of racers and provides countless hours of replay-ability and fun. As of writing this review Driveclub is €12:99 for the full game and season pass combined. If you were on the fence about buying Driveclub I recommend you buy it without hesitation, it's a steal at that price for such a good game. Expand

My first experience of Driveclub was only three weeks ago, and after the initial stories of a game woefully unfinished, disgruntled gamers trading it back early and warnings that it really was not very good at all, I couldn't help but wander what I had let myself in for?

Well, thankfully, these fears were all unfounded, and I will come back to them I promise. Driveclub is the latest title from Evolution, the people who gave us the wonderful chaos of Motorstorm and the sequel, Apocalypse. Both of those titles still stand out not only to myself, but anyone who wanted something different from their racers.

Starting off, I have to go to the presentation. Menus are clean and fast, you really don't get lost anywhere, and this is a major plus. Perhaps in some of the more complex gameplay options they can be a little limiting, but for the most part they're designed so that you can go back to the most important part (the racing!!) as soon as.

Graphically, the game is probably the best-looking racer out there (certainly it is the best looking racer I've ever seen) - at any point in the game there are endless racers hammering it around the track, complex textures on cars and the track, with sublime lighting - and it doesn't ever jitter ONCE. If you wanted one graphical reference title for our PS4, something to make your friends jealous, make it this one.

The sound is disappointing though, and perhaps made all the more disappointing by the wonderful graphics. The engines sound meaty, and the sound effects are good, but there isn't anything that involves you. If you doubt my opinion in any way, go and play Need For Speed Shift on either the PS3 or XBOX 360, and drive the Ford Escort Cosworth - THAT is WHAT a racing game should sound like!! The music is okay, but its not there really for incident, and is just as part of the presentation, to fill in a necessary space, and immediately forgettable.

So onto the gameplay then - Driveclub's car feel is odd, and the somewhat chunky handling that merges just a little arcade with a good portion of sim (similar to Need for Speed Pro Street) really does take a while to get the hang of, but once you're there, then the really annoying nature of some of the tracks (designed to really involve might I add!!) changes to compulsion to master them, to beautiful effect. Its to the games benefit that it plays differently from say Codemaster's GRID series, and in kind of a way the game feels influenced from say Sega and Namco's later racers, in that they concentrated on the one pure thing, and avoided the gimmicks. There is no upgrading cars as such, the main meat of the game is purely on the racing, and later the social ascent of the racing. In a way, Evolution should be congratulated - this game cannot compare to the Gran Turismo's and the Forza's of this world and if you did, you'd be missing the point entirely. This is a racer not only built for veterans, but for newcomers after a change too.

Of the modes in the game then, it has to be said that the campaign mode is woefully short, so thankfully the online modes (now fully working by the way may I add) compensate, and also prove remarkably involving, but with one major stumbling block - to actually play an online race you require a PSN+ subscription, which I think quite honestly is a bit of a con. This game for the most part costs £50 on average, and the campaign's short length eventually forces you to try the game online for some racing, and then you have to pay - what gives? Still, provided you pay, the online stuff is now solid and really unmissable.

For my gripes though, I have to give massive kudos to Evolution for their constant updates on the game (the weather patch, released last week, really makes for some stunning racing through harsh weather!!), and releasing a lot of the early game packs for free as an apology for all the early issues is a good deed.

Overall, Driveclub is by no means the the ultimate driving game, and if you look at the separate components, then you're going to question whether this is worth playing. However, if you look past the flaws, and play it for what it is, and enjoy it the way its meant to be enjoyed, then you are going to have a lot of fun.

A different and slightly flawed racer, but all the better because it is different.

I bought the game at launch at it sat on my shelf until now. I tried to play it but so many better games came out and I simply didn't have the time. Now the weather patch has hit, online issues have been fixed and the game is generally more stable. So I decided to give it another go after seeing all the hype for the new weather system. I was quite surprised to see that I spend a whole evening just marvelling at the effects. I also gave the campaign another go and am now at around half way through.

It has been a bumpy start for Evolution studios for this generation. Driveclub still isn't as fun as say Forza in my opinion, but it's a nice racing game fix with some truly spectacular graphics. During launch I wouldn't have recommended Driveclub, now I'm beginning to think it might not be that bad. It still isn't a Forza-killer, but it's worth a shot. Now if only that PS+ version would be released as well....more people could appreciate Evolution's effort.

You basically hop in a car, race, complete challenges, progress and unlock. There is no difficulty setting, you just have to start at the bottom in the amateur races and work you way up through the pros. So it becomes harder the further you progress. This makes it a very challenging game once you start to get half way through the ranks in the single player career mode. I've been gaming since 1985 and even i'm finding the pro ranks a real challenge. The challenges are varied and appear on their own, or within races. For example, you have standard racing, time trial, drift races etc. Then you have challenges WITHIN races. For instance, during a standard race against other cars, you may have to try and get the most drift points on one specific corner, or follow and try and keep on a driving line for a short period of time during a race. It doesn't matter if you don't complete these challenges during a race, and you can totally ignore them and just try and win the race, but completing them will help boost your points and unlock more cars. And if you fail these challenges on the first lap it will allow you to attempt them again on lap 2, 3 or 4, so you get a few chances. So not only do you have the fun challenge of trying to win a race, you have the challenge of trying to complete the challenges within the race. Then there are other challenges on top of that which consist of, Place 1st, Place within the top 3, Hit a top speed, achieve a clean lap, complete a race or lap under a ceratin time and so on. It constantly challenges you, which is fun for both hardcore and casual race fans. You can even create your own challenges for others or try and take on others self made challenges. You can play solo career mode, single races, or create your own crew with friends and challenge the world to become the no1 crew. The graphics are brilliant and the whole game looks impressive. There is a lot of detail and a lot going on every track, each track feels alive. The tracks are also very varied and a lot fun. You have lap races, or sprint races. There are 6 camera angles, including one i've never seen in a racing game before which is dashboard cam. But the game is at its best in cockpit in car view. The handling is a nice mix and sits somewhere between the PGR games and Forza. Its locked at 30 FPS and feels smooth and VERY fast, especially when you reach the hyper cars like the Venom and Mclaren etc. There are also a lot of new free cars, tracks and a weather system update on the way to download too. So, if you liked old challenging racers from back in the day like the Colin Mcrae/DIRT series, or Project Gotham Racing series, then you will like Driveclub. Expand

It kinda reminds me of the very first Burnout game or the Project Gotham Racing series. The original Burnout only had 4 cars and zero customization, it was all about the racing. It kept you coming back for that one more race. Driveclub has 50 cars and another 38 on the way. Some people complain that it doesn't have 200+ cars and lacks customization, but i'm ok with it as my favourite racing franchise Project Gotham Racing had under 100 cars and zero customization and i still play Project Gotham Racing 4 seven years on. Like the Project Gotham Racing series Driveclub has a ton of beautiful tracks across various locations. The handling is a mix between Project Gotham Racing and Forza (simcade) and easy to pick up and play. It is 1080p and locked at 30FPS which is very fast, fluid and gives you a great sense of speed. The graphics are the best around and there is a lot going on the screen. There are balloons, fireworks, confetti, plastic bags blow across the track, colourful butterflies zipping by the windscreen, birds and more. It is more alive than other racers. If you play the career races in order like i am you will find the game becomes more and more prettier as you progress through the game. The lighting effects and scenery are impressive. This game will appeal to both casual fans and hardcore racer fans who just like to pick up and race. So if you like a good solid racer, or just want to show off what your Playstation 4 can do, then give it a whirl. I'm happy with it. Expand

If you like plain and simple racing then this is for you. There is no fuss or messing around, just get straight in and race solo or create your own club with friends and challenge each other or the world. The gameplay and A.I are solid, the handling is a good mix of sim/arcade and the graphics are the best in town. I can't wait to download the weather system update, it already looks incredible.

The AI is stupid in a human way. It will hold the line like their car will explode if they stray from it, but they will also harass you if you're in their line and will aggressively pass you up if you're not at speed. You may lose magical fame points this way, but fame points are unimportant on a per-race basis unless you're in a drift challenge. I know i'm taking a turn too slow when the AI wrecks me with prejudice from behind. Getting 1st in events is actually a challenge, which is refreshing. Predictably, once you learn the tracks the aggressive AI is less of an issue since you're (hopefully) not holding them back anymore.

The online is broken right now. I paid $50, so it irritates me, but not much. The leaderboards don't matter and the only real drawback for me is I can't unlock the club cars just yet. I'm still sold on the potential of the game based on what I've seen so far, and dinking around with the singleplayer events is entertaining enough to keep me interested for now.

Now to my review. Driveclub is a very stunning racing game. Without a doubt the best looking racing game on consoles for the moment. The tracks are very detailed and so are the cars. The weather system and the day/night cycle adds to the overall experience.

The handling of the cars are terrific. A great mix of simulator and arcade. And the audio is awesome.

The only bad thing I have to say about this game is that the servers are overloaded, a very common problem these days, but NOT acceptable nonetheless. This is however a server problem and not the game itself, so I'm not gonna let this affect my score as this is something that can happen to every online game.

I'm giving it an 8, for all its detail on the tracks, the cars and the handling of the cars. It would have been a solid 10 if there were more content and car customization. 50 cars and 55 tracks are okey, but not great.

More content are sure to come in the future in the form of DLC, but that doesn't help the game now. It's a good thing that the tracks however are dynamic in terms of time of day and weather to give a little variation.

The cockpit view is stellar and all of the social aspects that integrate leaderboards and challenges is quite nice for competitive players. This game brings me back to PGR which was a great game in its own right.

Driveclub seems to capture what some more sterile racing games haven't, the social aspect. The graphics are incredible. There are some flaws though. There are only 51 cars which isn't many. The car selection is great though from street cars to supers. There are no official tracks from the real world but locals are quite vibrant, detailed and interesting enough. I give this game an 8/10 because it was really hyped up and was delayed. It really should have been available at launch but this game rivals Forza. Forza is more realistic but this game is more fun.

A common misconception it that DC is a sim, probably because of it's beautiful realistic visuals when in fact it's a drift style arcade racer with bonus points given for racing without running into other racers, hitting walls, cornering well (Think PGR Kudos system). If you arn't into drift type racing games you'll want to pick cars with low drift capabilities. That's just means that they will grip the road better and you won't have to slide into turns so much (think Ridge Racers Drift cars vs Grip cars) As of this writing the games online feature wasn't available but unless they really drop the ball with online I don't see why did wouldn't add to the replayability in spades. Any fanboys who want to rip on this game is kind of funny because if this was called PGR 5 (exclusive) for Xbox one they would be universally praising it as a great alternative for people who don't care for Forza Horizons 2 ( another great game) Open world racing. It's a shame that the weather and photo mode will be patched in later but at least it's free, this is a solid new IP who's extra year of development was well spent. Solid 8/10 Expand

There are things missing, though. No replay, no photomode (both to be patched in later), no showroom for your cars, limited car selection, tracks feeling a bit same-ish. Very little in terms of personality.

Concerning the pro reviews: Seems like some reviewers are staying on the surface - GiantBomb e.g. complained about there only being one colour for the cars (the "factory" setting). That is not the case, but the paint options are buried in the menus - you need to actively look for them.

So, with more cars coming, more features coming and maybe a new setting or two, there is potential for more than a 7 or 8 - if you like arcade racers. Right now, it's a bit short on features.

I will start by saying I own both a Xbox One and a PS4 because I want the best of both worlds. I love Forza and played the Demo of Forza Horizon 2 and was blown away by the graphics. I am not a huge open world racing fan so despite how amazing it looked and played it just didn't really interest me. I have played iRacing for years and am looking forward to project cars.

This game had me sick in the stomach when I loaded it up. Nothing felt quite right it seemed old in the way it looked and handled and coming from Forza alone it seemed like a bridge too far. But I gave it some more time. Changed the TV I was playing on and adjusted some settings and all of a sudden I was blown away. I don't think I have seen the kind of lighting and shadow effects used on a console racer before, that this game offers. The tracks are beautiful and the handling is akin to PGR which was one of my all time favourite racing games. The car list seems bleak in comparison to so many of today's racers but somehow as you dig deeper it doesn't feel like 50 cars is a limitation. Because you have to drive the cars as they are it becomes a game of skill as all things are equal, which was a huge positive back in the PGR games and never ever seemed like a hindrance then.

Since PGR so many racing games have become bloated and somehow confused the driving experience with so many mechanical possibilities you get lost in doing cars up rather than enjoying driving them. This game takes you back to driving. Driving cars that are for most of us an unobtainable wish. Driving them on tracks that leave you breathless. I am glad I gave the game a chance because in a genre that is flooded with games that are all about upgrades and modifications this is all about driving. It isn't a simulation and it isn't an arcade racer. It is somewhere in between that allows you to enjoy yourself and if you really want to you can challenge yourself almost endlessly across the different locations.

I have one gripe about the game thus far and that is the sound quality. It is beyond an annoyance. It is almost akin to watching a movie that is ever so slightly out of sync with the audio and you find yourself watching the lips of the actors instead of watching the movie. The sound is mundane and should be rectified it has no place alongside the calibre of visuals this game offers and is an insult to both the game and to the consumers who purchase the game.

I have not played the game online as at the time of writing the servers were down which is pretty poor for release. This has not had an impact on my view of the game as I enjoy racing games for the challenge of driving against the clock rather than people.

I hope this helps people who are looking for an honest opinion about the game and what to expect. It isn't a masterpiece by any means and can be very clinical and almost cold and lonely at times but for me I have found that giving it the time has paid off and I can look past the flaws and enjoy the game for what it is.

Does it deserve a 10/10 not by any means that would be utterly ridiculous considering the type of game and the fact that it doesn't really bring anything new. Is it a 4 or 5/10 not by a mile as if it is measured against racing games rather than games in general it does what it is meant to well enough. I think in reality a score of 7/10 would be the most accurate but my personal opinion based on my love for racing games pushes that to an 8/10 personally.

Giving a game like this is a 0/10 is simply unfair and childish. Regardless of whether you like a game or not at least judge it on its merits.

The handling is spot on and you feel like you're on the road, not gliding or pivoting, also Motion Control works amazingly well. It's so nice to see this feature being used again as for me, it negates the need to use a wheel.

The PS+ version limits you to the India Tracks only and a handful of cars, but it delivers 100% of the fun.

Give it a go, even if only to decide if you need to spend money to see the rest.

DriveClub is great racing game with fun gameplay, great controls and stunninf visuals. Almost every race is very intense, sense of speed is very well done and you will swap cars faster than you can handle ( literaly ).

Unfortunately driveclub is full of small annoying problems along with some big ones, which keeps it from truly great racing game. First of all single player game will take you around 8 hours to finish all races and tournaments and unlock majority of cars, thats kind of troubling for racing game i would say. Majority of game is rather easy, you will finish most of them at first place on first try. Also the ones which are challenging, are not challenging but are rather unfair. Later, there are races where will be one or two much better cars than you have, which makes it basicly impossible to win, so you have to play for the 3rd position, which is ok because you usualy need to be at top 3 position to get the star you need, but this is simply unfair gameplay where its obviously made so that you have to return to the race when 10 levels later you will unlock some car which will make it possible for you to finish race at first place ( you unlock lower tier cars at higher levels as well ).

Then there is whole slew of small problems. Such as, why in the hell cant i change color of my car ? i dont think i played any racing game in my recent memory where you cant change basic color of your car. Perhaps one year dealy wasnt enough to add color picker, i dont know.
There is also this club you can make, you can make your logo, yet you have to take one of the 4 most uglies liveries world ever saw and you cant make any of your own. So whast the point ?
Music, usualy its ok, but its extremely repetetive, do you remember that annoying song from trailers ? "How fast do you wanna go ? " if you didnt like it in trailers, you will hate in the game, get ready to hear it 3 or 4 times in a row on occasions.
There is system which penalizes you for cutting corners or hitting ai cars, so that playing bumpy cars doesnt pay out too much, thats all nice and dandy, except you get penalized when ai car hits you !!! Every time ai screws up and hits you from behind you get that annoying red flash bar annoying you and letting you know how poorly implemented it is. I guess thats why it is red, so that you dont overlook how badly its done. To be honest, in this case you just get your score lowered in this case, no speed limit as if you cut curner, so its no such big deal. But its still very annoying and can pull you out of the game a bit.

Instead of racing trail you have these flags to help you know if turn is easy or hard. Thats cool, except sometimes green ones should be yellow, yellow should be green, or greens shouldnt be there or they should be red. You simple cant rely on them, again, just poor execution of something which should be simply working well.

Also when they spent so much time on making these beatiful cars with these amazing graphics why there is on inspection of the cars ? why there is no replay ? how could they delay game for an year, yet miss out on replay feature ??? Right now servers are down and i wont rate that for that reason, i am expecting it will add more fun to the game, but game feels right now like there is lack of stuff to do. Also its a pity there isnt any kind of stuff to do beyond racing, like customizing your cars or anything along those lines. This game with its visuals screams for some kind of obsessive car mode, let me polish that hood or at least some engine parts.
So all in all, Driveclub has amazing core gameplay, which is realy beyond most regular racing games. At least in my opinion. I enjoyed even time trials and drifting races which i never before did, more so i enjoyed actual races, which are usualy very intense and you will just get that pure enjoyment from driving fast, overtaking and the overall rush of the race. Driveclub features of course amazing visuals and is just joy to look at. But it also feels very unfinished and its lacking very basic features. As of right now Driveclub for me stands at solid 8 out of 10. There is huge potentional to get much better when the game will be complete with more features.

Also, the computer AI doesn't ram you all the time like everyone says, it's not perfect, but the computer racers are decent to provide a challenge and are not overly annoying.I've played the game since launch and, yes, it does have it's fair share of issues with it's servers, but besides those this is a very solid racing game without absolutely gorgeous graphics and silky smooth gameplay. The user reviews on here are overly dramatic and laughable and in no way does this game deserve a 1 or a 0. The game has its faults but it's a blast to play and has 50 cars and a ton of tracks in a variety of locales. Yes, it could have more cars but the ones in the game are all fun to drive and handle differently. The game play is fun and fast yet not too far off in realism.

Once the server's are fully restored, which as of a week after launch they are still experiencing connectivity issues, the game will truly shine. If you're looking for a fun racing game I don't think you'll find a better one on the PS4. It's not a masterpiece, but if you like arcade style racing games this offers plenty to keep you busy.

Try it for yourself and see how fun it is to race in these truly jaw-dropping environments.

Firstly, let me say, aside from the severe networking issues Sony and Evolution have been experiencing the actual game is solid. The game is very similar to the PGR/MSR series only it's racing circuits and fictitious roads with breathtaking scenery. The racing and physics model is so satisfying that it is hard to put down.

Sure there have been some severe networking issues plaguing the game since launch, but they're almost fixed now, much to our relief. There is a hugely competitive game here with oodles of content promised over the next nine months. Really looking forward to seeing what else Evo bring to the table.

Anyone that gives this a subpar score doesn't appreciate the actual work that goes into a game. No game deserves a zero or 1.

Besides it not working when i have played online it seemed to cater to players that are not particular good at the game. Breaking around a corner correctly means nothing when a player far behind you comes at full speed and rams in the side of your car. Letting them and other get in front of you. Even though it is fun at first seeing the carnage it gets old and frustrating. The score would be lower for this fact but its not because i still have a blast playing the game. Expand

The graphics are the best in a racing game I have seen and I think the handling is spot on for the cars. The only gripe is online players constant ramming to get in front which sometimes goes unpunished but overall online is fun. The slight negative is a lack of cars in the game but I guess more may be released in DLC and it's not that much of a big deal for me. I'm not bothered by lack of customization as this is more a pure arcade racer then a sim. In summary it's a game that you can pick up and play quite easily, looks amazing and I found it a fun experience. Expand

This game is way better than I expected. I don’t usually play/like racing games but this is a decent one. Strengths:
    - The graphics
    - Easy to pick up but hard to master
    - The variety of tracks
    - Free cars and DLC
    - A good progression system

    Weaknesses:
    - DLC (too pricey)
    - No dynamic weather in the tours without paying
    - The clubs, I feel that I barely did anything for my club, and yet I got so many new cars because of the other club members. (I have 2 million points, and my club 30 millions, only 3 members…)

Driveclub may suffer from severe and constant connection problems, but apart from that, Driveclub is a great racing game that mixes Simulation and Arcade types very well, being suitable for both casual and hardcore players. Even though it doesn't bring anything new to racing games, it's really fun to play and the graphics are great. It has everything to be the best new-gen racing game of 2014.

This is an enjoyable racing game, it is a bummer that the online component had issues but it is getting fixed. The game looks fantastic and the dynamic weather update made it even more so. I like the different country s that the tracks are set in but a few more would've been great. The game is load of fun to play, I had no interest until I played a retail demo. Soon after that I bought the game.

The game is fun and is challenging, and will have you hooked. Though, sometimes, the game can be a bit too controlling, too challenging to the point where it feels impossible (though it has a great accomplishment factor), and somewhat unfinished. You don't have the freedom to switch your traction off or to switch your stability control off, and I will get to that in a second. Some hot lap events will ask for a bit too much out of you in terms of lap times, and the same thing goes for the drifting events, which I will also get to in a second as well. Simply touching the wall will nearly completely drain your speed. I like to call it "velcro." The drifting -- though I'm pretty decent at it -- is beyond awful. In regards to the assists mentioned earlier, how is Evolution Studios going to have drift events with drift mechanics more broken than a shattered iPhone, not to mention that the stability and traction controls are locked on? Come on. Anyhow, the assists are just nitpicks, though do make life a bit more difficult during drift events. The game, again, is fun and addicting. I play it on a daily basis, and I love it. By the way, there are plenty of cars missing; you don't get the SRT Viper GTS, the Bugatti Veyron (neither the standard or Super Sport version), the Nissan GTR (or any Skyline at all), 370Z, the Ferrari LaFerrari, Enzo, F50, nor is there a single Lamborghini at all. At least there are brand-new cars like the McLaren P1, the Mercedes-AMG GTS, the Ferrari F12berlinetta, and a few others like the BMW M4 and the BMW M5 F10 update, but -- aside from some more cars -- that's about it. I personally enjoy it despite its flaws. Expand

However, the game does stand on it's own two feet as a solid racer. I think the problem was that Evolution Studios was untruthful with the premise for this game. It most certainly is an arcade racer, however, prior to release we were led to believe it would be a simulator comparable to that for Forza Motorsport, Gran Turismo or the recently released Project Cars and so many people felt cheated and disappointed with the end result. The game is stunning to look at, the choice of cars is adequate although there is a serious lack of American muscle cars and the online and club services work well enough at this stage. All in all it is worth a look at a discount if you're a fan of socially driven arcade racing games. Expand

I have barely touched on the multiplayer aspects of the game but it is a lot of fun trying to beat the goals set by others. The game looks great especially as day turns to night and with that the adrenaline goes up. This game is the sort I will play when I need a bit of a breather from more intensive games like Bloodborne. Expand

Curti muito o jogo, bem divertido e graficos muito bonito. tem um modo carreira bem legal e multiplayer também, não é o melhor jogo de corrida, mas passa longe de ser o pior.

Driveclub is a must-have for any PS4 racing fan. It’s ideal for anyone who enjoys a good arcade racer. It’s challenging, but teaches you how to overcome every single one. Because of this, Driveclub is far more rewarding than its peers. This coupled with fantastic graphical fidelity, impressive sound design, and adrenaline-inducing sense of speed makes Driveclub one of the best racing games available on current-gen systems.

When you're on the track Driveclub is stunning to behold, but it's held back by a lack of event types. [Christmas 2014, p.74]

The sense of speed offered by Driveclub reminded me of the brilliant first GRID and I was having a lot of fun until I realized that cars are indestructible. Whether you stroke a wooden fence or smash into another vehicle at 300 km/h your car drives exactly the same afterwards. [Dec 2014, p.66]
