    When I first bought this game I was 12. I played it for about 15 hours just rushing from main mission to main mission and obviously hated it. after coming back to it a year later it was and still is one of my favourite games of all time. I think it is on par with games of the likes of The Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy 15. As you can see I'm impartial to fantasy RPG's but that doesn't takeWhen I first bought this game I was 12. I liked the combat a lot as it was something I could customize specifically to me, and the simple crafting system was very endearing to me and I sunk countless hours into it. The story was also very interesting and made me want to look deeper into the lore of this universe. Some of my fondest memories come from this game and I think it earns the score I've given it.… Expand

    No he jugado a las otras entregas, pero si te gustan los juegos de Rol sin duda este juego te puede llegar a encantar.
    Mundo abierto con una historia de mas de 40 horas (mas de 100 con las secundarias) y con toma de decisiones.
    Los personajes son carismáticos que junto a los paisajes te sumergen de lleno en la historia.
    Sin duda es mi juego de Rol favorito.

    Dragon Age Inquisition es posiblemente el mejor juego de su estilo. Tiene una historia perfecta, donde las decisiones que hay que tomar son super importantes y muy entrañables a tal punto de tardar una hora en decidir cuando tuve que elegir que personaje moría y quien no. Se siente el progreso del personaje, de la inquisición y de tus compañeros. El combate si bien puede hacerse repetitivoDragon Age Inquisition es posiblemente el mejor juego de su estilo. Tiene una historia perfecta, donde las decisiones que hay que tomar son super importantes y muy entrañables a tal punto de tardar una hora en decidir cuando tuve que elegir que personaje moría y quien no. Se siente el progreso del personaje, de la inquisición y de tus compañeros. El combate si bien puede hacerse repetitivo a la larga lo encuentro super entretenido y con habilidades muy divertidas. El lore y referencias sensacionales como siempre. El mapa y los enemigos excelente. Mesa de operaciones, requerimientos, agentes, los JUICIOS, todo es perfecto en este juego.
    Me lo pase en PS3 y rejugarlo en PS4 es revivir todo lo que me había impresionado este juego. 10/10    … Expand

    A great RPG experience. The deepest character customization and creation system in the series. I visually enthralling world, that really made me care for the characters and lore. The side quests range from fetch quests to some surprisingly good and rewarding quests. I started my first playthrough as a Dwarven Rogue, and I am currently in my second as an Elven Necromancer.     The story and characters are good, not great, but still good. And it managed to keep me intrigued throughout the game. The world also had a good variety with a lot of different places to explore.     The combat is like a mix between an action game and a strategic game but it’s not a good mix in my opinion. I feel like it should choose to either go back to the way Dragon age Origins handles combat and make it more strategic or make it a full-fledged action game. At the moment it’s like the game has an identity crisis and don’t know what it is which gives combat a weird and unsatisfying feeling.

    And a lot of things in this game is simply boring, unfortunately. Even getting new loot is often boring. The main problem in that area is that most armor look the same, except for color variation. And to top it off the armor that you get don’t look epic in the slightest and in a fantasy game that is a big mistake.

    But the main problem I have with this game is how it somehow feels like a single player MMO. There is a lot of quests to do but most of them are boring and repetitive and they lack variety and you don’t get invested in them. It simply has a massive quantity over quality approach which makes a lot of the content boring. If I compare it to Dragon age Origins there were not as many quests in that game but the quests were much better and much more enjoyable. You could ask the quest giver questions concerning the quests and you got involved in it before you even started the quest. But in this one it’s almost as if someone just says “Find my lost brother in this area, I beg you” and that’s it.

    In the end this game gives you some of that grind feeling that an MMO provides, and I don’t mean that in a good way. It lacks focus and gives you content just for content sake with no real thought behind it. But I love the dragon age universe and the story and characters kept me going and that is what saved this game for me. Overall it was an enjoyable experience but it could be MUCH better.    … Expand

    Between about 1987 and 2009, I played most PC RPGs. I remember having a fairly good time with the original Bard's tale and the slew of Forgotten realms PC games. One of the last games I played was the original Dragon Age before I switched over to console gaming and JRPGs almost exclusively.    I like strategic gameplay and great stories in my games and this one left me a bit disappointed.

    Between about 1987 and 2009, I played most PC RPGs. I remember having a fairly good time with the original Bard's tale and the slew of Forgotten realms PC games. One of the last games I played was the original Dragon Age before I switched over to console gaming and JRPGs almost exclusively. As far as storytelling goes, you can't beat a good JRPG (although there's a bunch of crap JRPGs out there), and their turn-based combat systems gave me my strategy fix.

    So I picked up Inquisition in a bargain bin and thought I'd give it a try. As everyone says, Bioware has great stories and amazing writing, so I was looking forward to some good fun.

    And the result is that I have finally experienced "open world fatigue" like everyone else has, who has continued to play western games.

    Let me get the good out of the way first. The game looks great. There's lots of pretty areas to look at and explore. There's an immense amount of dialogue (all adequately voiced) and dialog options. And even though most dialogue options don't lead to a different outcome, at least they make you feel like they do. There's also no major holes in the story, which is good, because plot-hole-ridden stories have become common in cheap console RPGs.

    As for open world fatigue, this game has it. It's chock full of unimportant side quests, which aren't related directly or by theme to the main story. And it seems like at least half of them have you running around to points on the map picking up various things from the ground. If you can spend 80 hours picking up shinies or cleaning up trash, you might get some enjoyment out of this. After about 25 hours of doing this, I realized that it wasn't fun for me and then focused on completing the main story, which I assumed must be amazing.

    And I was wrong there. The story is your standard by-the-book evil bad guy wanting to take over the world. His motivations for doing so are a bit silly. His motivations might have been expanded upon in some of the sidequest materials, but I wasn't keen on putting myself though more of that and there were no indications or hints in the main story that there was more to uncover about it.

    And the final confrontation with the evil bad guy was also disappointing. It's one of those where I told myself, "what was stopping me from doing this 20 hours ago?" The apparent answer is the leveling system. Because you must be at least XX level and have XX power to do the final battle. Well, that really breaks the immersion..

    The combat has also evolved to become more action-oriented and less strategic. I was happy to see the inclusion of a combat pause function and the ability to see everything from a top-down view, but it's not as good as the oldies. You can't see nearly as much as you need to in the top-down view and assigning commands is more tedious than it needs to be, so I stopped using it and switched over to using the real-time combat. It's obvious that the real-time combat mode was the main focus by the developers.

    So yeah, the game isn't really for me. I'm glad it exists though. It's nice to have some contrasting games now and then.    … Expand

    A very long and fun game! Not everyone's type of game but this is right up my alley! An amazing game! There are so much bugs and glitches in this game though, some are unfortunately game-breaking glitch.

    I would give 11/10 if I could. I have played countless RPGs over almost 2 decades and this is the best RPG since Baldur's Gate 2. It has all of the same qualities as that transcendent masterpiece. A sprawling open world with gorgeous, immersive environments. A brilliant narrative with fabulously developed characters, the best villain BioWare has written since Jon Irenicus. And mostI would give 11/10 if I could. I have played countless RPGs over almost 2 decades and this is the best RPG since Baldur's Gate 2. It has all of the same qualities as that transcendent masterpiece. A sprawling open world with gorgeous, immersive environments. A brilliant narrative with fabulously developed characters, the best villain BioWare has written since Jon Irenicus. And most importantly, Deep, tactician, fast-paced combat that combines everything I liked about Dragon Age 2 and Origins together. And last but not least, the best soundtrack in gaming since the Neverwinter Nights series.

    The gameplay appeals to all gamers. You can play casually in normal or easy without the need for much planning or pouring over skill trees. Or you can bring it to the epic level of party-based combat that I haven't seen since Throne of Bhaal. Turn on all the trials, put the slider on "Nightmare" and you will have epic fights that will end brutally for you unless you plan a great party comp from hours of pouring over the many skill trees and brilliant crafting system (the best I have ever seen in a video-game) that will give you the edge you need to overcome the great difficulty this game can have.

    Still the most beautiful game world ever, it's artistry rivals Dark Souls and the texture detail is far beyond The Witcher 3.

    Probably the most underrated video-game of this generation, this is one of the very, very best experiences there is. And the best RPG of this generation, with Dark Souls 3 being the only close 2nd.    … Expand

Stronger difficulty means same AI but tons of hp and dmg for your enemies, lol, also your enemies same level as you, no clue why they making games. Such **** animations, shoulders forward on females, weapons in hands in fly. Omg, just fail.     One of my most favorite games. One of its unique features is - Dragon Age keep, when choices that you made in previous games changes the world of DAI.

    Dragon Age: Inquisition is AWESOME!. It deserves a 10, but i thought it was too short. The soundtrack is amazing, it has gorgeous graphics, the fight system is great, the mechanichs are great. You should play Dragon Age Inquisition, you won't regret.

    A good story, amazing gameplay, nice graphics, so many builds and quests, this is a remarkable RPG. Bad: No choices, some quests are very boring.

    Piece of crap. Huge letdown. No significant improvement from the previous games. I played DAO and DA2, they even had better AI configuration. I need my team to be aggressive towards approaching enemies when I put them on hold position, and guess what, my team just standing there, let the enemies pass, and won't attack until I attack. Seriously. Now those maps with **** tons of hills andPiece of crap. Huge letdown. No significant improvement from the previous games. I played DAO and DA2, they even had better AI configuration. Sollte es in den letzten zwanzig Jahren Fortschritte hinsichtlich des Figurenverhaltens gegeben haben, wird man sie hier nicht finden. Die wenigen wirklich guten Quests gehen im überstrapazierten Holen und Bringen unter. Aufgrund der Widersprüche zwischen dem Erzählten und dem Erlebten entsteht zudem sehr früh eine Distanz zur Spielwelt und ihren Akteuren. Warum soll ich als Herold der Inquisition Eisen sammeln oder Widder jagen? Der eigene Held? Moralisch kaum formbar! Es gibt nur wenig dramatische Momente, in denen das alte BioWare aufblitzt, denn Drehbuch und Story gehen während der Schnitzeljagd immer wieder unter. Ja, man kann man sich für 30 bis 80 Stunden in einem schier endlosen Freischalt- und Vervollständigungsfluss treiben lassen: Es gibt so viel zu bekämpfen, zu befreien, zu pflücken, zu basteln und auch zu entscheiden – nur dass sich dabei wenig auf die Geschichte auswirkt. Die potenziellen Erkundungsreize der schönen Landschaften werden früh von der Spoilerkarte erstickt und vieles wird schrecklich offensichtlich für Sammler verteilt - das Auffinden von Geheimnissen per Richtungsimpuls ist das Dämlichste, was die Kanadier bisher entwickelt haben. Das Kampfsystem schließlich ist nichts Halbes für Actionfreunde und nichts Ganzes für Pausetaktiker, aber bietet immerhin Komboreize in fulminanten Gefechten. Man wird letztlich in eine vollgestopfte Fantasywelt entführt, die einen für Wochen mit all ihrem Klimbim zum Surfen an der Oberfläche animiert. Da noch eine Scherbe, hier noch eine Sehenswürdigkeit und vielleicht noch einen Riss schließen. Die wirklich guten Rollenspiele sind wie Tauchgänge. Aber BioWare will diese Tiefe gar nicht mehr erforschen - da schwimmt zu wenig Zielgruppe.… Expand

    nothing ground breaking here, to sum up the whole game would be millions of fetch quests which are all the same with a different coat of paint. Combat is okay is pretty boring though, doesn't feel tactical like origin or flashy like 2, instead its sort of somewhere in the middle so it ends up being not very tactical and looking pretty boring while you stand there!     It took me 105hrs to complete DA:I GOTY edition with all DLCs done. What a journey!

    Pros: Immersive environments and setting Beautiful landscapes. A number of memorable characters Interesting twists Cool loot and gear Engaging RPG mechanics, leveling up is addictive! Exploration is fun Lore intensive Epic story if you take the time to read all codex entries and pay attention.    It took me 105hrs to complete DA:I GOTY edition with all DLCs done. What a journey!

    Absolute value for your money. I bought this for $6.99 on a sale. Wouldn't have regretted it even at full price.
    Really got attached to the main character and main party members. Classic Bioware at work, brilliant!

    Cons:
    Too many unused squad mates. Would've preferred less party options but well-written and fleshed out characters. I only used Solas, Cassandra, Blackwall, Dorian mainly. Kept hearing about Iron Bull but man he sucks, died too easily.

    Boring and repetitive fetch quests

    Side quests aren't as engaging. General quest design and story/plot mechanics could be improved.

    Too many uninteresting codex entries, which spoil the pace of the game.

    Dated character models, time to upgrade your engine Bioware.

    Boring combat. Either go all action or full RPG, this feels like an over the shoulder Diablo, which some might like to be fair.

    Overpowered too easily.

    DA: origins was by far my favorite game. DA2 was a step back, but DA: inquisition moved the game forward. The game had great character development and the relationships are great, very nice gfx, and the battle mechanics were flawless. Armor and weapon crafting was very enjoyable. The vast areas were beautiful. The main quest and side quest were all well done. Having horses to span the areaDA: origins was by far my favorite game. DA2 was a step back, but DA: inquisition moved the game forward. The game had great character development and the relationships are great, very nice gfx, and the battle mechanics were flawless. Armor and weapon crafting was very enjoyable. The vast areas were beautiful. The main quest and side quest were all well done. Having horses to span the area was a very nice upgrade. A few suggestions for the developers, bring back armor/weapon collections, part of the fun of DA:O was finding a complete armor set. Another make the characters not so ugly.… Expand

    Awesome game, put more than 150 hours into this, so much to do, great combat, great characters, great story, I know a lot of people have a lot of hate for bioware nowadays but this to me is proof that they still have what it takes to make an awesome game. Can't wait for the next instalment! Plus the game is huge!

The result was a quality game that offered a decent plot, a good deal of customization and play styles, and plenty of content. Much of the content was not exactly above and beyond, though.     Very slow start as most of the good stuff in this game is kinda buried under the massive amounts of generic quests and collectibles, but once you actually get to the good stuff - main story, companions and their quests, exploring varied and beautiful locations and building your inquisition, the game becomes really good. All 3 additional DLC's are nice with atmospheric Descent dungeon crawl and reunion with your companions in Trespasser being one of the highlights of the entire game. Overall, fantastic RPG, almost 200 hours worth of fun (mostly). 9/10… Expand

    I love the series however, the game stoped working after several weeks of play on my PS3 and wouldn't load. I contacted electronic arts and ps store who told me I couldn't have a refund even though the game doesn't work. What a rip off! No time for this. I also have a ps4 and could have played it on there but if course you have to buy the game a second time to do this.     An overall good game with good Dlc's

    It has most thing other Dragon age had but this time MOAR dragons-killings, luv it.
    Foe people that played previous games , they will see a lot of familiar faces.
    Story was well written, a good fantasy game.
    Can't wait for DA4

    Dragon Age games have always been bad. The first one was extremely generic with lackluster combat and a boring story. The second was worse due to the removal of auto-attack. Somebody should put this franchise out of its misery.

    Not to bad. It is a bit like Skrim (if it were way more linear.) This game is mainly pulled down by having to do pointless missions to advance. However it has it's strong suits(eg. Combat)

    The only downside I've seen is the multiplayer, it feels tacked on as to simply have a multiplayer regardless of quality.

After my distaste with DA2, I was hoping this game would bring the series back to the standard Origins set. I was wrong.

    The main story is decent at best. But first, in order to understand what is going on, you need to have played a DLC for Dragon Age 2. Now, the game is set up with standard go here and do this. But each quest is plagued with some questionable writing (Here Lies the Abyss is dreadful in its writing). Choices often don't matter much by the end of the game. You end up succeeding in most cases against the antagonist, who is not fleshed out, and never feels like an actual threat most of the game, and doesn't really drive the plot.

    The cast. BioWare is known for having strong characters. And some are truly good. Varric makes a return, and his life is expanded upon beyond his role in DA2. Cassandra appears again this time as a companion, and is often brash, but supportive. Solas, an Elven apostate, is a character I have to give praise to as one of BioWares most complex and well written characters. I don't want to go into each character, but the companions and advisers are pretty good on a whole, with a few exceptions (Blackwall and Sera). Already mentioned was the antagonist, who is Corypheus, the antagonist from the Legacy DLC of DA2. With a cool back story, he really could have been crafted into a fine villain, but now remains completely forgettable.

    Side quests are often boring, context less, and a chore to complete. NPCs have no real depth to them, no sort of backstory for us to piece together really. A lot of the content is collecting stuff to fill out or just finding objects, all of which is dull. Not only that, but in order to progress through the main story, you have to do some of this. Power is required to do main quests, so players at some point have to deal with this garbage, most of which is not good, thoughtful, engaging content. Some cool areas and some interesting bits of lore can be found, but not much else.

    Gameplay. You have your traditional three classes; Warrior, Rouge, and Mage. Each offer different ways of playing the game. Tactics are almost nonexistent (despite BioWare saying this would be a more tactical game), and most fights require you to just spam you talents or spells (which you can only have a loadout of 8 instead of everything you have unlocked) without actually coming up with a plan. Most talent/spell trees don't really add new exciting abilities, instead just increasing damage or providing a larger range. The Ice and Fire spell trees are extremely similar, just as different elements. Healing spells has been completely removed (save for one spell from one specialization tree), as has the entire Entropy tree, which makes zero sense lore wise and it just taking away features for no real reason. You no longer have control over your attributes, with them being assigned by the game. Skills are yet again absent, but have a form of replacement in Inquisition perks and recipes. The established system from Origins has slowly been moved away from, with RPG elements being removed for a more streamlined game. I absolutely hate this.

    Dialogue. The dialogue wheel makes a return, and things remain the same. Top is typically nice, middle a more funny or charming, and bottom is direct or aggressive. I know a lot of people like this, but limiting players to the usual three responses and telling you exactly how things come across feels like spoon feeding to me. You can unlock special options depending on your race and any dialogue perks you have unlocked. Often times, however, the options you pick don't have very meaningful results.

    The Map. No longer do we have the exact same maps of DA2. Now, we have large ones, some completely massive. They look great, absolutely. But the are often empty, devoid of any real meaning. This goes back to the side quest problem. Often times, the maps offer nothing in good content to actually be worth your time exploring. One area is a massive desert that doesn't have anything going on in most of it.

    Of course, there are positive aspects to this game. The cast is for the most part strong, with voice acting being solid, and in some cases great. The game looks great as well, and BioWare deserves credit for that. But when you start to examine areas beyond that, things get worse. Inquisition looks like a good game, but the deeper you dig, the more disappointment you find.    … Expand

    Brilliant game. The banter between characters that accompany you is pure entertainment. Be sure to recruit Sera as her one-liners are great. Can't fault it. 10/10

    Good game. The story was pretty good with interesting twists and turns. The combat is better than ever. But there is just so much to do and not everything is utilized well.

    Definitely one of the best RPG games of this generation. I've played the rest of DA games, and Bioware did their best to make this gem. I don't really understand bad reviews, I really enjoyed playing this game and it's hilarious, so for those who love RPG, here you have 100+ hours of a 10/10 videogame.

The characters are phenomenally written, the soundtrack is gorgeous, the landscapes only pale in comparison to the new Mass effect, the combat is simple, but what youd expect from the franchise, and the storytelling is gripping and had me very invested. The game retains all of the bioware charm, and quirks, but presents you with many new and exciting features, especially like the new ginormous map locations! The graphics are surprisingly pleasant for a transitional era game, and the environments will suck you in until youve discovered every corner of every area! The many many side quests, and inner circle/party member quests will keep you invested in your allies and spending plenty of time questing from beginning to end, and though the dlc's for this game were a bit lackluster in scope compared to DA: Origins, the game really doesnt feel like it needs anything beyond what you have in base. The class system and combat was the same stripped down experience you'd expect from dragon age, but rebalanced and really making each of the 3 classes feel unique and purposeful. The Ai did leave a little to be improved as they have a difficult time making use of more complex classes, but throw an Ai tank or barrier spam mage out and your team will never go down, and besides you should be saving the more fun complex stuff for your character anyway. overall I love this game, and I have to say it is probably in my top 5 favorite games of all time at this point, and i definitely the best entry in the franchise.… Expand

    Also, the visuals are stunning, many of the areas rival The Witcher 3's scenery.

Coming from XBOX 360, DA:I was my introduction to what next-gen graphics were like and what an introduction it was! There were moments in the game in which I could just stop and lose myself in the scenery. You don't have to get to know every NPC, including the major ones. You get to pick. After 4 playing through 4 times I knew which NPCs I enjoyed and which ones I didn't care to follow. Not only that but in cases like Liliana, you get to help her find herself again(if you pick the right choices).

    So this game is for people who like to immerse themselves in a different world, for people who enjoy reading codex and getting to know NPCs. I cannot say enough good things about this game. It has high replay value. The combat is fun but also easy on Normal so if you want a challenge I'd start with a higher difficulty.

    People are real quick to forget this was game of the year for 2014. Rightfully so. Was 2014 a "weak" year? Maybe. What game was better? Shadow of Mordor? Really don't think so. Anyone who rates the game lower than an 8 are sour grapes.

    It's like somebody made a "paint by numbers" RPG that looks like it's covered in some sore of shiny goo. Played about 10 hours then got incredibly bored. Annoying characters, AWFUL combat and AI, MUH DIVERSITY, rancid controls etc. The last time I buy a game in this series. Just awful.

    Technically the game is top notch with great graphics that offers impressive light effects and detailed environments, there's also very few glitches which is impressive for a world this big. In the other hand the loading times are a bit long for my taste, specially when you need to go back to your HQ so much.

    Concerning the gameplay it's clearly closer to Origins, you can pause time anytime and give your instructions, you don't have the ability to parry or dodge (some classes may unlock those but they come with a cooldown like any other class abilities.). It works well and it's easy to learn, but in the end the fights all look alike (except for the bosses) which is a bit boring after 50 hours and hundreds of fights. The RPG mechanics are very well done and you'll encounter everything you expect in a fantasy RPG (alchemy, forge, runes) you even get to do a bit of management as head of the inquisition and of course Bioware trademark you have to deal with your relationships with the rest of your gang.

    About that let's talk about the writing in general the main quest is rather satisfactory and fits very well with the previous games (specially if you enter your choices in the website), it wasn't intense but well written, the same goes for the personal quest of your companions and I think it's important to give so much personality for the PNJ it gives life to the world. But I was very disappointed by the (numerous) side quest you'll encounter in each zone, they're way too simple (in the writing department I mean) and there's clearly no incentive to do them apart for the rewards, like a job in real life, it's not what I want in a videogame. Concerning the length of the game if you want to complete it at 100% you can expect around 80 hours of gameplay which is very good for the genre.

    So in conclusion Dragon Age Inquisition is a solid RPG fairly enjoyable and quite generous in its content but the monotonous fighting and poor writing of the side quests is disappointing and can keep you from enjoying every minute of the game. Advisable for all RPG lovers that have already completed The Witcher 3 (if not it should be your priority).    … Expand

    This game is really fun, it goes really in depth and allows you to make fun conversations, and will make you want to explore. The game really has a lot to offer and will take several hours to complete if you are willing to do the side quests. The game is beautiful, and the characters are filled with personality.

It has amazing art, graphics, the gameplay is fluid..you can tell that the devs have put a lot of time, effort and love into making this game. I love it. Also, the online is still alive and well.     I regret that they weren't more RP possibilities, like sitting everywhere, talking to companions during the missions, something to actually do in your huge bedroom instead of just changing clothes. That's why I don't give it a 10

    I recommend this game to people who like putting time and investment into a game, you'll be rewarded. It is a bit slow to start and to understand what this game actually is, but it opens up after the first big battle. I suggest you follow the main quest until you reach Skyhold, and then spend time explore the regions.    … Expand

There is a moment when you move to a different area in the first quarter of the game, and that is beautifully done and packs a real emotional punch, but i never quite surpasses that. The graphics, whilst beautifully detailed are more like the shinier Dragon Age II, whereas I was very fond of the earthy watercolour palette of the original. Overall, this is a superb RPG, and whilst Witcher 3 has come along and crushed it, if you haven't played it there is much to enjoy here. Crafting is still the most detailed of any game out there, and the companions are superb- just sit back and listen to the banter between them!… Expand

But i think it wasn't very well implemented, the game is incredibly repetitive, getting really boring after 4+ hours, with a handful of good skills and powers, a lot of side-quests, but almost all of them with no depth at all (kill 10 sheep... great,I really didn't see much of what people said about this game... The graphics are good and the soundtrack is good too, and the lore is GREAT! But i think it wasn't very well implemented, the game is incredibly repetitive, getting really boring after 4+ hours, with a handful of good skills and powers, a lot of side-quests, but almost all of them with no depth at all (kill 10 sheep... great, now... kill 10 wolves... nice, now, kill 10 [x]), the horse physics is painful. Besides all of that, the "freedom" of the game is just bad, getting a lot of players lost in the first couple of hours after the introduction!

    So Inquisition is BIOWARE at it's absolute best,there are some minor flaws in the game witch keep it from achieving the top however,like some quests are too boring and without any meaningful purpose witch is realy a shame,but still this game is a great rpg, and one that remains true to it's roots and ancestors as a beautiful and respectable rpg.

I found they brought back what made me enjoy Dragon Age 1 so much and I really enjoyed the various characters and the individual back story and depth each one had. I clocked in about 120 hours on the first play through as I did a lot of exploring. I still plan on going back and doing aI thought Dragon Age Inquisition was a nice bounce back from Dragon Age 2 which I wasn't very fond of. I found they brought back what made me enjoy Dragon Age 1 so much and I really enjoyed the various characters and the individual back story and depth each one had.     Vast world, great combat mechanics, and great character. Main mission is a bit short but the side missions are abundant and fun. However, this game doesn't intrigue me as much as Skyrim or Witcher. The reason lies in the kind of boring combat system and not-so-fun world roaming.

The real draw of this game is Character customization, choices, and discovery. I always love creating a female character and this game doesn't disappoint in that respect unlike Fallout 4 for example. Inquisition still has the best dialogue system and the most decisions out of modern games. So the only competition in that respect is between well, previous Bioware titles and Telltale Games. However, most choices don't have a big enough impact. No matter who you choose, Templars or Mages, you'll still have to defend Haven from the forgettable villain. I understand that part is critical to the story but Bioware has given much more weight to choices in the Mass Effect series
    . But Skyhold really is a big improvement over the Normandy. The world is plenty big and the highlights visually are the houses in the Emerald Graves, the Eleven temple in the end, and the sand dunes of the Western Approach(beat Elder Scrolls to the punch). Due to the leveling and weapon damage system, enemies had to have large health bars to make the former mechanics work. There is no point in getting a better weapon if the Red Templars succumb to one or two hits. This makes encounters long and less fun. Dragons take so long to kill.
    Only at the end does the story get intriguing. This is mostly thanks to Morigan(who I kept thinking was the villain due to the reveal trailer) and the Elvin lore.Since that I was eager to make progress in the game, I skipped most of the cutscenes, dialogue, and books;something I usually don't do.It ended up cutting my playthrough in half(about 50 hours instead of the average 100+)
    In a world where Gods and magic exist, religion stills gets thing wrong. Something I only realized towards the end. Not that they were morally wrong(the chantry is clearly the old christian church and a lot of it draws inspiration from the real world) but that it's not certain who these gods were as Mythal turns out not to be an Elvin god but Morigan's Immortal human mother. And there isn't proof of the maker or the Old Gods existence. The only interesting part of Coryriphius (spelled wrong) was when he mentions that the thrones in the heavens were empty. That mystery definitely will be explained in future games.
    The end seems to point towards a Grey Warden civil war being a plot point for DAV. It really sucks that EA most likely took the real ending and released it as the Trespasser DLC only for current-gen. That will probably stop me from playing it as I played it on the 360 and will likely get a PS4.
    So the near future for Bioware is Andromeda. Something that is taking far too long to make. Is it going through development hell? Almost. Bioware is trying to make a far more ambitious game than Mass Effect 3. But here's the problem. This is in terms of content, not substance. Clearly the scale of this game is whats being built upon. And in my opinion thats a bad thing. Inquisition would have been significantly better in terms of story, pacing, and level design if Bioware didn't try to compete with the sheer size of Skyrim. Either way, I'm almost certain that Andromeda will be a great game:)    … Expand

With regards to its content being optional, yeah, its optional but damn LARGE if you try to achieve them all that you will lose 100+ hours of you life. All in all, this game is great and is one of the two best games of the year (shadow of mordor is the other) that deserves the credit they get.     This is not an open world game and I have contacted the Federal Trade Commission to alert them of the fact that Electronic Arts is engaging in false advertising regarding this product. The character creator is adequate and the classes available are feasible, but as soon as you begin the game and are put on a bloody unilineal rail it becomes obvious that this not an open world game, this is not something you can explore and enjoy at your leisure, going your own way and doing your own thing, creating your own story with your own character.

    The essence of open world games is freedom to go where you want and do as you please. This is a crappy, bog standard 3D action-adventure game with some RPG elements that some soulless corporate executive decided to call an Open World game after Grand Theft Auto made a billion dollars. But you can’t just call a hamburger a steak and demand reviewers and gamers and players eat it like a steak. This is not a steak. This is a disgusting, rotten hamburger made up of entrails and snouts and filth vacuumed up off of the slaughterhouse floor. It’s a disgusting fast food hot dog made by an absolutely ill-managed and persistently incompetent game company, Electronic Arts.

    This is also brainless, mindless trash written and designed by people who hate fantasy, do not understand swords & sorcery, do not apparently even like or play open world games, and if you met them in person are probably overgrown hipster man-children without a clue. This conception is a bowel movement, the byproduct of a lifeless, corporate nine-to-fiver hack who thinks beard-less dwarves and glowing green goo is somehow innovating the fantasy genre. It’s not.

    Anyone involved in designing, producing and approving this farce should never be given a multi-million budget to make a creative product ever again. That is not an indictment of the programmers, artists, sound designers, voice actors or anyone else. But the creative, production and management team must be held accountable for their blathering incompetence. At the end of the day, I’m glad I only spent $10 to buy this game used at Wal-Mart, a serious lapse in judgment I will never make again.

    This won a few game of the year awards for a reason. It is packed with content and brimming with epic quests. I never liked the way previous Dragon Age games were made and some elements of story and gameplay were shoddy. This game changed my opinion of the franchise by pushing the bar and creating compelling gameplay to complement and enrich the vast amount of lore.

    I enjoyed this game. The combat's not great, but fun, you can really chose the type of fighting style that suits you. The story is interesting and the voice acting is outstanding. The graphics are crisp and the controls are smooth. Overall, I really liked this game.

    Great characters & writing. Graphics are decent (thought some occasional flicker). But combat is too easy. Many quests are shallow and repetitive. The dreaded inventory lag makes maintaining your party's gear needlessly painful.

    Contender for game of the year. It's been a long wait, but man has it been worth it. Great battle mechanics, much to do (with purpose) and guess what? It doesn't fee grindy (say what?). This is because Bioware, does what it does well and offers solid STORIES. Not just a good main story, but hundreds of good side stories (so far). Thank you, Bioware!

    9. Enemies arent very great, and are repeated. With only slight varitations, interesting demons etc are very limited.
    10. Even secrets in the game are very less and npc are very badly designed.. with many just sitting or standing like statues with no movement whatsoever.
    so verdict is.. its more interesting when u r playing it linearly with concentration on main quest, dont expect much from side quests, there are few companion quest which ar bit better but dey usually start with collectiin etc which is too boring, combat is wonderful and infact one of best thing in the game, enemies not that great, weapons armor etc are normal. there is also one more feature where you send your allies for some tasks using maps which also i think is interesting but again more interesting for main plot then for side quests.     +++ The storytelling. I can't put enough plusses on that one. The cutscenes are just great, until now I wasn't even aware that computer games could express such a variety of expressions and emotions. Also the way the cameras are set during the cutscenes - like watching a movie, not at all like the static-expression-and-emotionless-statues you meet in Skyrim. The characters in DAI have a depth I have never encountered before. They are authentic, they have a personality and the game really makes you care about them, wanting to know more of their past, of their opinions and such. I have finished several playthroughs and each time there were new things to discover, new angles and perspectives from which the story could be seen. A character I loathed on my first playthrough really grew on me the second time as I overcame my opinion of her and actually started to learn more about her. This is just a great story, that draws you in, that captivates you and that actually has a lot of references to our modern day society. The game confronts you with religion in numerous ways, and no matter what your opinion is on that, the characters you meet will make you start to think. The parallels to the catholic church are there, and they are displayed in a well differentiated fashion. I am not a religious person, yet some talks with Mother Giselle, Cassandra or Leliana really made me question my so far rather negative view of the church. And this is just an example of how this story creates parallels to real issues without judging, but showing many perspectives on the topic and leaving it up to the player to make up his opinion. There simply is a depth and subtext to this game that goes beyond what one might expect from a video game. That's why I like this game so much. Not sooo much for the gameplay, but for the way it is an interactive story telling medium between a good novel and a good movie.
    ++ The setting: I just love the way you build up your inquisition and get the feel of ruling a powerful organization
    +++ have ot mention them again: your party members - just a bunch of great non-cliche party members. From the eloquent front warrior to the witty and overconfident and gay wizard to the mysterious elf - they are all well written characters.

    As I said - this is my personal view, others value a well balanced gameplay above a good story and will therefore give a different score. Speaking of the gameplay, lets get to some negative points:

    - the gameplay: Dragon Age Origins (not Inquisition) started out as a somewhat modern adaption of the famous baldurs gate that was known for its tactical depth. Dragon Age Inquisition has left that noble path behind and leaves me missing the tactical depth as it has more of an mediocre action oriented gameplay.
    - the inventory: is a mess." I wanna switch my armor. now I have to run to the smith, dismantle the shoes and gauntlets from my armor and put them to the new one, so I can wear it." - In other game switching equipment is just the matter of pressing a button in DAI you have fiddle through a hundred menus to get it done. Dealing with my inventory is no fun at all.
    - Elves look like starved, sick people you usually only see on their deathbeds, only bones and skin. I know this a harsh critic , but whenever I tried to start out as an elf and saw my inquisitor wearing robes or the (horrible) stronghold pyjama I got that image of a starved out sick person in my mind and couldn't play any more. Maybe its just me, and I know elves have to be somewhat slim, but I couldn't stand to look at an elven male inquisitor... sorry.
    - the big areas - yes they are seen as a big asset to the game, but really they aren't necessary for that great story they are telling, they are rather hindering. This would have been a great game, even with smaller areas.
    - side quests are pathetic - while the main story and the character quests are great, the side quests are useless. "I am the mighty inquisitor, but unless I go out and collect 150 daisy flowers, three pickles and two dozen pebbles the inquisition will fall to ruin because among my entire army there is no one who could do that except me...." less, but more meaningfull sidequests would have been the wiser choice.
    - the assortment of enemies is very small. There could have been more types of demons and stuff

    I know I stated a lot of negative points, but none of those can dampen my enthusiasm when I think of the great story this game can tell. No game is perfect, neither is this one, but for someone who loves a well written and well displayed story this is the game you wanna get    … Expand

    The problem with this game is that sooner or later you get bored of exploring maps and not having a real opened world, I've tried to finish the main story on three different occasions and I haven't been able yet because I like to explore and achieve 100% before I leave the zone.

    I feel that I enjoy it when I'm playing, the personal problem I have with it is that I get bored and pass to an other thing.

    Someday I will finish it for sure, but no clue when will that be!

    I also tried out the PvP... didn't like it at all, I'd rather play TESO for that, it was much more fun. The PvE combat feels a little bit repetitive and you stay there waiting your skills to cooldown, auto-attack sucks.

    The crafting system is soooooo confusing, I don't know who did it, but Good Lord! It's awful! And the skill trees are a no brainer, it makes nonsense that you can upgrade everything...

    Regardless of all the problems and bad things it has, you'll enjoy playing it, PvE! Seriously, don't play PvP in this game.

    1) Lore and script. With high production values, full voice acting and brilliant animation, this is still a game where you can clock in a good amount of hours reading the entire Codex. The lore is very detailed and imaginative because it spins things around a bit regarding the traditional roles in fantasy. For newcomers it's easy to get into the story and memorize who's who given the parallels with real world institutions (god and church, nations, power groups, etc).
    Also the decisions you're asked to make as the Inquisitor influence the story in meaningful ways. Combine that with the fact you can choose from 12 different companions, and you have more than enough content to grant a second and maybe third play-through. Bioware at its best.

    2) Combat. You can approach combat in much the same way you'd do in one of those old school RPGs: pause and micro-manage your team. But this is 2014, so you can also program your team's AI with confidence and control just a single character, or switch between them, in real time. The higher the difficulty level, the more management it requires to be successful. It is possible to vanquish foes of a higher level than your own with careful planing, positioning and use of inter-class ability combos. While paused you can move the camera freely around the scene, most of the times just admiring the poses of your characters and the flashy details of spells. Pure porn. Overall combat feels very satisfying. I just wish there was an accessible text log to review the encounters.

    3) Loot. Inquisition is actually a drug dealer in disguise. It knows loot is an addiction. It's the shady bloke in overcoat calling you from the street corner. "Hey friend, wanna try some loot?" Of course you do.
    And not only equipment loot. Picking those flowers and rocks will help you craft powerful stuff and improve your gear in meaningful ways. There's a very strong MMO scent in the air here. And you'll love that scent, you'll snort that **** and revel in it. At times I found that even mission structure reminded me of traditional MMO quests. Go find this guy, now pick 5 of those items, then bait the dragon... here, have some loot!

    This was my most disappointing game last year. The world is expansive and there are a lot of things to do, however they don't really feel meaningful. It felt like checking the off a box whenever I closed a portal. The game is big but not focused. A Jack of all trades and master of none.

    First, the story is just great, the voice acting is great and the charters are brilliant. I rarely spent more than 150 hours of time in the game, but this game was so much to explore, different challenges and i was able to develop friendships and romances. The environment was very nicely done and I was really surprised that this game was this good.     Improvement over DA2 but i still miss power combination of DAO
    The best part of Inquisition is its caharacter interaction.Story and gameplay is good not great. And yes the dragon are fun to fight.

    Beautiful world, interesting characters, great details, good adventures. However, bad game design and mechanics, why keep pressing the button to find item every step I go? Story is so poor, and doesn't make sense. Crafting and micro manage each team member is a put off. Not fun and not enjoyable after a while of playing.

    If you love RPG's or fantasy this is the game for you. Despite not playing the other games in the franchise, I immediately got hooked and fascinated with the world characters and story. I have completed this game twice now, and each experience was quite different due to the choices I made. Very well written dialogue and voice acting. Wonderful visuals and a far more refined combat system, which is exactly what I was hoping for. What I didn't expect, on the other hand, is that almost none of my choices would actually make a difference until about half way through the game. I didn't buy Inquisition for the combat or the visuals. I love that they've been improved, but I bought this game for dynamic storytelling, something which Origins handled with such care. Something I thought would be stronger than ever in this game by default, but so far I don't think a single choice that I've made, aside from maybe choosing my species, has affected anything at all. I've played through to where I am multiple times and everything that I do leads to the the same dialogue and outcome. The changes are so slight. So... Has it been disappointing? Yes, of course. Origins introduced me to the actual role playing elements from the very get go and they were subtle, handled with care and I actually felt like I could change something. I guess that's my main problem with Inquisition. Not once through my fifty or eighty hour playtime did I feel like my character was truly mine or that the world was mine to mold or shift. It doesn't feel like much of a role playing game to me. Its awfully strange to pick up the box of the game that I just purchased and think "I... I'm seriously unsure if I want to play it again". The game has a good combat system that provides action whilst also allowing tactical combat if that is your preferred route.     2) Окружающий мир 10 из 10. Куча пещер, погодных явлений и разнообразных локаций делают игру поистине увлекательной и заставляют игрока не откидывать в сторону геймпад. Побережье, пустыня, горы и все населяющие их - всё выполнено восхитительно.

    3) Хороший сюжет, ради которого я и проходил игру. Нет, увлекательным его не назовешь, это как книга, которая нудная, но очень интересная,которую читаешь по страничке в день. Клише занимают большую часть сюжета. Неоч.

    1. Why won't my party members drink their potions? Why does Solas not drink lyrium potion? 2. Why won't my party members use their bombs? 3. Why won't the mages stay out of melee range? I haven't played prev. dragon age games. So, was not sure what it was going to be like. Didn't like the combat at all.    Big MEH! A time sink. Too much configuration required yet missing soo much:

    DA:I is overwhelmingly ok. The characters and story are bland. The combat lacks any bite or real hook to it. I found myself wandering aimlessly through the (beautifully rendered but generic) world, spamming spells and attacks. I never got invested in what I was doing and at times it was unclear what I was SUPPOSED to be doing. Ten hours in and I was really missing the gripping story or interesting characters of something like Mass Effect or KOTOR.

    The game is serviceable but it's void of any personality or life. I think the combat would work better on PC because controlling a bunch of characters and powers is not all that intuitive on a controller.    … Expand

    Probably the best high fantasy RPG I've ever played. The game is simply beautiful and surreal, a joy to look at. The gameplay is satisfying in both tactical and action combat fronts. The story is beautifully told with emotional, funny and empowering moments. The ice on the cake is the huge amount of side content. Must play for any western RPG fan.

    Great game, great story and a wonderful game play. This game is a must have for all the fan of the saga, and for people who love fantasy. The first 2 dlcs do not add much to the game (The descent and Jaws of Hakkon) apart few more hours of game play but "trespasser" is the DLC to have, it is amazing and beautifully done, with more hours to play and story ending content. Thumbs up!

    This game is amazing. A solid 9 without pause. The graphics (at least on the PS4 to a 50" Plasma) are stunning. The graphics are awesome, character customization options are plenty, combat mode different of what you are known from other RPGs

One of the many gripes about DA2 was the constant reuse of areas and how overly small the whole game was, so they decided to make vast open spaces and then.... fill it with awful fetch quests. Collect x amount of shards, collect x amount of stuff for party members. It was like playing an mmo on your own.
    I didn't finish the game, it bored me to tears. I got quite far into it, I think I was near the end but simply couldn't be bothered with the rest of it. I found the side quest "The Bloody Baron" in The Witcher 3 far more engaging and better written than the main plotline in DA:I.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Dragon Age Inquisition is a good game! It has all the components it needs to be a great one with minor tweaks. The Dragon Age games best feature, has for me, always been the story and Inquisition doesn't fall short here. To be able to see Morrigan again, AND MY KID, was the best moment of the game for me! Never had a strong connection to Varric, so to have him on my team wasn't as cool.
    Now, I said a few tweaks could make this a great game, and I'm thinking of three things in particular. Firstly, the tactical camera SUCKS! One of the best things of the first two games has been broken and burned. It's more or less useless here, but then again, you don't need to use it at all. The game is very easy to play through without any trouble, and that's another of the game's flaws. Origins was hard! Even on normal it was hard. Spells and abilities had a bigger impact on how battle would go. Crowd control was also a lot better in Origins and DA2, but Inquisition battle has a flow to it that the other games don't. This might be because you don't need tactical camera and pause the battle to know you'll win.
    Second big flaw to me is that the numbers are simply too big! When I an enemy archer takes longer to kill than the enemy tank, something isn't right! The first ten levels in the game doesn't have this problem as much as the late game. Then having two enemy archers can be annoying as f*ck! They simply won't die. As some of the other reviewers have pointed out, it's like a MMO, where the numbers get so huge after a while it seems just silly!
    Third flaw is the tactics option... You know, being able to chose what spells to use when and such? Not in this game! The AI for your team is really bad in my opinion. They run in circles, don't use their abilities, chug their potions like alcoholics and don't have a clue what to do. In the tactics menu, you get the choice of attack who the PC/any other party member is attacking or defend PC/any other party member. That's it.

    As bad as these three things are for the player experience, the rest makes up for it! The world is fantastic! I'm a lore freak, so to read all the lore in this world makes my head spin. And where the previous games had four dragon fights in total, this one has 13 or 14! And they are fuuuuun!
    I wish they had more choices though... The ones that I do, especially during the main quest-line, doesn't matter to me. If you don't like Hawke, you won't care if he/she dies in the fade. BUT Dragon Age Keep fixes this with some handy tricks from your world state, so it kind of works out for the best.

    Total score: A strong 7! The three things that I mentioned, pisses me off while I play, but you'll make it through the game anyway. And you'll want to. The story is so damn good! And don't hate on Solas! He's cool.    … Expand
