Dragon Age: Origins is still one of my all time favourite games. It had the best characters and voice acting of any game I had previously played, superb story and atmosphere and really packed an emotional punch at times. Dragon Age II was a shinier, dumbed down version. Admittedly a game I still enjoyed, but it was a shadow of it's former self. This one is a mixture of the two. Let's start with the good. It is HUGE. Far bigger than the previous games. Just the core game itself took me well over a 100 hours to complete, and the DLC will add many more. The characters are good, the crafting second to none. It looks beautiful: every time I play it, I forget how nice it looks. On to the not-so-good: it lacks the soul of the original. There is a moment when you move to a different area in the first quarter of the game, and that is beautifully done and packs a real emotional punch, but i never quite surpasses that. The graphics, whilst beautifully detailed are more like the shinier Dragon Age II, whereas I was very fond of the earthy watercolour palette of the original. Overall, this is a superb RPG, and whilst Witcher 3 has come along and crushed it, if you haven't played it there is much to enjoy here. Crafting is still the most detailed of any game out there, and the companions are superb- just sit back and listen to the banter between them! Expand

The dialogue and combat is a mix of KOTOR and Dark Souls, with top notch voice acting from the main characters to the side characters.
I love that this game has so much lore especially for newcomers to the series, for example dialogue options can be expanded to learn more about a history or an event that conspired good or bad, to certain characters from the past or present and how they have influenced the current setting, or even to a place that shows a fallout of years of past and present if you so choose to listen of course which me myself did.

Graphics aren't exactly next gen but the lighting effects most definitely are to level of Infamous Second Son lighting next gen lighting effects at it's best, combat is effective each hit to a foe weather it's a hammer or a sword you can feel the punch.
The open world and environments are as interesting as if i were exploring Tamriel in Skyrim,

Some disadvantages is the War Table for one this is the place you go to set your objectives open up new areas basically progress in the game,

The war table is pretty confusing i didn't feel I was making any progress with it, I instead felt I was just pointing my finger randomly on a map that I knew nothing off,
The menu screen is another fault it consists of character level progression to character customization to your map navigation (which you will use frequently, the layout of all these combined are as bad as Dark Souls menu screen Interface.
Graphics aren't exactly next gen either but for a game of this scale I can forgive this.

My final thought's on Dragon Age Inquisition is that if your a fan of RPG's with a mix of Darks Souls, Game of Thrones Politics and KOTOR styled dialogue and combat plus have the patience and time to commit alot of hours into Inquisition is the game for you.

First Dragon Age game I play, bought it at 20€ on the PS Store, after claiming everywhere I would never give anymore money to EA. Well.

I would recommend this game to players who like spending time chatting with NPC's, making decisions having an impact on the story, it's a perfect occasion to do some RP with your inquisitor, judge people, make allies, construct relationships.

Graphics are good enough, stop being a spoiled child if you judge only on that. I prefer when the devs spend more time creating a backstory, and a game system that allows different play styles. I had fun playing this game, from the first to the last minute

I regret that they weren't more RP possibilities, like sitting everywhere, talking to companions during the missions, something to actually do in your huge bedroom instead of just changing clothes. That's why I don't give it a 10

I recommend this game to people who like putting time and investment into a game, you'll be rewarded. It is a bit slow to start and to understand what this game actually is, but it opens up after the first big battle. I suggest you follow the main quest until you reach Skyhold, and then spend time explore the regions.

Very close call. I think it should have been a full 10/10, but some minor issues leave a tiny room for improvement. It is a huge game. Truly impressive content, that the frostbite engine manages well. Not sure of the playable races. Dwarves? The character cards artwork are amazing. For me this is in the top three for ps4 atm, along with black flag and shadow of mordor.

The story and characters were put together very well, but the pacing is poorly executed. You can find yourself over leveling if you're a completionist like myself, causing later areas to become too easy. All together I think it was a really great game that I got around 100 hours playtime out of but I think this game gets a better rep simply because of the lack of quality titles that came out around it's release date. 8.5/10 but I lean more towards 9 than 8. This won a few game of the year awards for a reason. It is packed with content and brimming with epic quests. I never liked the way previous Dragon Age games were made and some elements of story and gameplay were shoddy. This game changed my opinion of the franchise by pushing the bar and creating compelling gameplay to complement and enrich the vast amount of lore.

Overview: Dragon Age inquisition is a better than Dragon Age 2 but still doesn't live up to Dragon Age Origins.
The visuals are the best in the series with characters actually looking human (even though they always look like they've been in the rain) and each person you meet has a little personality which is brought on by the stellar voice acting and facial expressions.

Gameplay: The gameplay is quite varied this time round, you can either play it like DA2 with the hack n slash approach or play it tactically with the new battle menu system which gives you a birds eye view so you can micromanage your units. I personally play both, I use the battle menu to plan my initial attack such as my mage will drop a barrier and my archer will target long range and then I go headlong into the fray making battles quick and easy. The mage class suffers from the new battle system though, one of the things that DA2 got right was mage combat it was fun and you felt powerful. In DAI it's boring as hell, if you want to have fun I suggest being a warrior or a rouge.

Character Customisation: Character customisation is the best it's ever been will the addition of sliders meaning you can make a work of art or a bloody monster as you wish, my only problem is the hair styles still suck with none looking like they belong to a living creature.
Selecting your race is also back and a welcome addition, you can be a Human, Elf, Dwarf and even a Qunari this time round, although the addition of the Qunari is a good thing I feel the development was underdone, the armour available sucks especially helmet wise with those awful "vitars" and the movements in cut scenes and combat feels awkward, I believe the addition of the Qunari was a last minute thing for fan service.

Voice acting: The main character speaks like in DA2 and this is a massive pitfall in the character creation because you can choose between two voices for all races, either the American voice actor (who is terrible) or a really posh sounding English actor, The English actor is the better voice actor but his voice only suits the Human and maybe the Elf, While neither the American or the British voice actors suit the Dwarves or the Qunari. Every other dwarf in the DA series has most been Scottish sounding while all the Qunari had really deep voices that sound powerful and cool. Instead of choosing between two they should have had one for each race which actually suited the race. (Take note that I don't know what the females sound like)

The World: The world of Thedas is absolutely beautiful, I would live there war and all, the wild life looks and feels like it belongs, the wind rustles the trees and varied pallet of colours soothes the senses, but it feels empty, there isn't much to see in most areas besides wilderness as far as the eye can see broken up with the odd town or two. I think they chose the wrong areas for the game to take place, Orlais was my last choice for a place I wanted to visit, I wanted to see Tervinter or Antiva because there isn't much difference between Ferelden and Orlais and those god awful accents (Jesus Christ!). I would also like to see places I've been in previous games, you see Redcliff and that's about it, where's Orzamar or Denerim or even Kirkwall, big things happened in those places because of your actions in the previous games and I would like to see the result but alas we are restricted to hanging around with the bloody French.

Companions: The companions and supporting cast of DAI are all different and for the most part good characters, unfortunately like DA2 quite a few of your companions are terrible characters, the two I hate the most are Vivienne and Sera (Sera by far being the worst character ever) those two must have been designed to annoy you because they suffer from a rare and debilitating illness called **** syndrome.
The other characters though: Dorian, Iron Bull, Cassandra, Solas, Cole,Varric and Blackwall are all highly interesting and likeable characters with their own quirks like real people. Bioware outdid themselves with the character personalities making them feel real.

Things to do: The world of DAI is vast and there is no shortage of things to do, you can do the main quest, hunt dragons, spread your armies influence or even explore, but the side quests are almost always menial fetch quests, there are fetch quests bloody everywhere. And which developer do I have to punch in the face for that Drufalo quest!

Dragon Age Keep: The keep is one of the best ideas they had, people want to see how their choices affect Thedas but the games are long so most people wont bother, this allows you to change things quick and easy if a bit arduous at times.

Summary: Dragon Age Inquisition is a game I recommend playing for the story and the characters and if your a fan, I love it but I have to take it with a pinch of salt and I still play it today on my 3rd playthrough now.

4 skill trees, crafting weapon and potion is good as well And at higher difficulties you will have to make use of it as merchant selling weapons and even weapons found arent that powerful.
    5. Main quest is awesome with a nice story and world changes around you with each main mission But its sad that main quest doesnt have too many quests.
6 side quests are plenty in the games but thats where developers have seriously messed it up. It feels like that side quests have been just put just because they had to.. 99 percent are damn boring, with only thing u gain from them is power( which is required for main quests) and few things for your inventory ofcourse but no fun at all.
7 combat is fun, and better is u can try each and every type of skill with so many players availaible in your party, you wont feel missed in combat for sure.
    8. Exploration is fun.. but lack of interesting side quests makes you feel that why am i exploring. Even interesting places are less, which give you feeling, wow now thats interesting..except for dragons though which you will find when you explore and a very few places. places are just beautiful with nothing intersting to do.
    9. Enemies arent very great, and are repeated. With only slight varitations, interesting demons etc are very limited.
    10. Even secrets in the game are very less and npc are very badly designed.. with many just sitting or standing like statues with no movement whatsoever.
so verdict is.. its more interesting when u r playing it linearly with concentration on main quest, dont expect much from side quests, there are few companion quest which ar bit better but dey usually start with collectiin etc which is too boring, combat is wonderful and infact one of best thing in the game, enemies not that great, weapons armor etc are normal. there is also one more feature where you send your allies for some tasks using maps which also i think is interesting but again more interesting for main plot then for side quests. So overall good game with nice combat, nice areas, good amount of dragons to kill, nice main story but poor side quests.

The story itself is really nice. I miss the Dragon age: Origins where you had different start for each character but that is fine. Companions are again their own interesting characters, each with different personality and agenda. Combat is a bit lacking, I don't mind hack and slash/action RPGs but this comming from Bioware was a weird take esp. after so many games where stopping time was essential, so here is almost no reason to use tactical map even on nightmare difficulty.
Shard hunting was/is/will be a boring choice. They could have made something different with it, but instead you are stuck with some doors that give you neglectable bonuses.

I must say the game itself is somewhere between 7.5-8 for me. But what makes it even better are the DLCs. Yes, I am not a big fan of DLC content but this one is a must. I believe if the Trespasser DLC was in game since launch it would make one of the best story games out there. I have to call it 9 with DLCs.

Oh.. and did I talked about how you can export saves from previous games? And if you didn't play them you can customize almost everything that happened in the prior games. Oh boy and those thing have an impact (some are minor tho).

After misteps with DA II and Mass Effect 3, BioWare learned their lesson and got back to their true RPG roots.

Dragon Age Inquisition has gorgeous set pieces, great combat and a great cast of characters. One of the best RPG's this gen

Very huge game. With some many choices, so many options you can easily be lost in the plot and go only on your own trail. The combat is pretty good and has depth. Some puzzles were a pleasant surprise.

Third part of a cool series! Inquisition was a joy to play even later in 2020 when I got to it. My choices effected the storyline there were many things to discover and learn. It had diversity and representation abound including poc and trans npcs. It's a great game for the story and the personality of the characters. Gameplay wise- it's not as great. Finding roads to trek up are sometimes hard and the game will not just let me climb up rocks. It's a micromanagers dream though with all the crafting and inventory management work that you can do.

    Takeaways
Pros: real RPG where your choices affect the game, great for micromanaging looters like me who want to pocket everything, your character can be in a relationship. LGBTQ+ representation
Cons: appearing very open world but having limitations on gameplay (like not being able to access some areas/climb rocks).

O jogo é incrível! A variedade de coisas que nos oferece, a questão das escolhas, toda a historia gigantesca por trás, muito bem construída desde o primeiro game, na minha opinião tem tudo que um RPG deve ter!

It’s really amazing and a huge step up from Dragon Age 2’s failure, I’ve enjoyed it a lot the mechanics feel better and it’s a lot more challenging. I love the way how they changed the progressive system that makes me sink so many hours in.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My first game by Bioware, bought this on PS4 as a Christmas present for my brother but ended up playing and loving it myself. The game introduced me to the Dragon Age series and eventually Mass Effect trilogy and I loved every minute of it.

    Positive:
    • Graphics - not realistic but perfect for a fantasy game, colours are vibrant, colours well used in different places. Takes you to the perfect fantasy world. UI and colours are simply marvellous, landscape and design was breathtaking especially in the Trespasser DLC.
    • Meaningful choices - Dragon Age keep allows players to transfer or create their own story with or without playing through previous games, your choices then will affect who appears or the history of characters and the world. However, Hawke will always appear as default Hawke, though you get the option to change them.
    • Customization - sliders and colour wheels are always an A+ in my book, however, there's limited and ugly hairstyles. Eyes always looks about 5mm inside their skulls with their thick and really defined underlids.
    • Romance - Great number and options (specifically for female elf), multiple pathways, affects the story to a degree, satisfying.
    • Companions - Diverse from race to colour to ideologies, they are their own characters and it's obvious that the developers were not bias towards any particular group/views.
    • Great replay-ability

    Negative:
    • Slow at the start
    • Some characters have degenerated in terms of appearance such as Sera and Queen Anora
    • Combat mechanics is not revolutionary (except bard in multiplayer), it stuck to its roots of holding M1 or R2 and press the occasional trigger buttons once cool-down has finished.

    Final Verdict:
Enjoyable for players that loves the fantasy genre and strategy games, otherwise players will find it over the top or too difficult unless they lower the difficulty settings.
    • Definitely Play only if you're interested
    • Game sometimes pokes fun of itself so play with an open mind
    • Linear story so don't expect to become the villain or the inquisition to be strong or alive at the end

Simply amazing. In terms of presentation, the maps are still beautiful seven years later, the character models are mostly good and the soundtrack perfectly fits the tone of the game. A flawed, but still brilliant game.

The replay value of this game is incredible. I can’t remember the last time I finished a game and immediately created a new character and started over after spending ~100 hours in my first play through. I’ve read many of the really negative comments and they all have one thing in common: they haven’t played much of the game. I’ll admit that DAI starts off a little slow. But as the story progresses and we get to know the characters a little better, it becomes one of the best action RPGs I’ve ever played. Your choices REALLY matter. Few games have made me care about the characters the way that this game does. Everything about Inquisition is great. The variety of enemies, different levels, combat, & customization are everything I want out of a fantasy action RPG. A beautiful and epic RPG that will hook you for months. It does have a lot of padding that just shouldn't be there at all, but still, it's one impressive journey.

Surely a great game, yet not so free from technical mistakes. Especially on PS4 random crashes can happen, even after years after its release
Said this, the GDR component took a step forward compared to the previous game, but cannot be compared at all with those of the very first Dragon Age. Also the technical aspects during fights are mostly not sophisticated: at low levels of difficulty

Also the technical aspects during fights are mostly not sophisticated: at low levels of difficulty it is not perceived while it will be a major problem when playing at the highest difficulties due to the impossibility to give detailed instruction to the party.
However the game has a very good plot, good interactions between members of the party and dialogues are surely good.
Also the mechanic for crafting is very good and clear, giving the possibility to better personalize your party members equipment to better suit your playing style. Same thing can be applied to the ability three
