    This game is awesome. The storyline is great with amazing graphic. Although the fps is quite low but still looking smooth. A must have if you are a DA fans, this version is really a nice breakthrough.

    I will start by saying it has been a very long time since I have purchased an EA tittle as I feel EA is a very dishonest company, however, this game was a gift from a good friend, and I am very thankful Dragon Age:Inquisition found its way to my PS4.

    I am loving my time in Ferelden.     I am loving my time in Ferelden. The combat is challenging at first (however I would like a few more tactical choices), the world is absolutely magical, so much to explore and take in, the story is well done as well (and I say that encompassing ass dialogue,side quests, lore and main plot). Overall, DA:I is a wonderful game, and I feel dirty saying that because it has EA on the logo.....

    I recommend getting used to the system of DA:I, and then turning every assist feature off (pause during AoE, spells not hitting friendlies etc) and put the game on hard. Also, turn off any HUD and explore the world with your eyes. I feel this is the best way to engage yourself in the game and truly take in the experience. This also points tot he flaws I have with the game. Even with HUD off, I should be able to quickly check party health (especially during non combat) without having to open the tactics menu, I should also be able to gauge my controlled characters health (verbal comments, red screen etc). Also, the search function should give some kind of visualization towards the direction an item was pinged (similar to when locating key items).

    Overall I would definitely recommend DA:I to any person looking for an RPG experience. Well done Bioware.    … Expand

    The fighting mechanics and fighting are gratifying if you're the kind of person who likes damage counters, life bars, and a third person perspective, but as I said before, depending on who you are this may be a turn off.

    The menu system can be a bit unapproachable at first, but as the game progresses, one becomes more familiar with it, but that's not to say that things could not be simplified, but the bad UI doesn't detract from the experience.

    Overall, I think it's a great game with a great story with especial nods to those who've experienced the previous entries. Item crafting was a new feature introduced in this installment. It becomes more satisfying as you gather more schematics and crafting materials. The customization options in the game go beyond just weapons and armors, but extend to your story, your main character and your base of operations at well.

    At the same time it's not without its faults like the aforementioned menu system. There is also the "white noise" that is too common with large scale RPGs, you know, collect these, go here, do that. I enjoy exploring the map as much as the next gamer, probably more as I consider myself a conpletionist, but even I got tired of scouring the terrain for a single item that has no effect on the story or the gameplay at large.

    Before I conclude, the maps are gorgeous and huge and immersive. The world of Dragon Age came to life for me in this sequel, but it's not a true "open world" game because the world is broken up into explorable regions. But yes, I would definitely recommend this game.    … Expand

    I just finished a over 100 hour campaign and loved every bit of it. By far one of the best RPGS i have ever played and one of the best games I have ever played. It tells a great story with interesting characters. Faces you with hard decisions. The combat is fun and exciting, it looks great and you feel like your accomplishing something with each mission your growing your inquisition orI just finished a over 100 hour campaign and loved every bit of it.     This is my first time playing a Dragon Age game, so I have come at it with a completely fresh and unbiased view based on any history within the series. Having spent over 42 hours playing it so far I can honestly say that it is a bewildering and engrossing universe that Bioware have created.

    The sheer amount of things to do, explore and lore behind the series is almost too much - you just dont know where to begin! But once you get past that, it is ridiculously engrossing and enjoyable to play. I have really enjoyed the environments within the game, though not all connected as one huge open world, they are none the less huge within themselves. Everything looks nice and the attention to detail is quite impressive.

    The storyline from my viewpoint is good, though I was a bit confused at the very beginning and did not understand how I came to have the powers that I had. Character creation is undoubtedly the most impressive thing I have ever seen - you can TRULY make your character yours....

    The only negative things I have to say are that the character animations can be quite rigid at times and when your character jumps he looks like he/she is constipated.. and mine makes the weirdest sounds. I have also found, at least in my copy, that during cut scenes the camera focuses on background objects a lot of the time which leaves the character out of focus... aside from that, I really don't have anything bad to say. It could be contender for game of the year 2014.

    IF you enjoy RPG's and want to spend days and days and days engrossed in a massive world with a lot to do - this is for you. It's a great game.    … Expand

    I felt as though I was a hero and the characters were my friends. In my recollection I have never become tearfully inspired while playing a videogame, as I did several times while playing Dragon Age: Inquisition. The story was compelling; I became invested in the lives of my companions. In the past I have glossed over or become annoyed with conversations with NPC's so I was surprised toI felt as though I was a hero and the characters were my friends.     Superb game, how can anyone rate this low? Gorgeous visuals, massive world, loads to see and do etc etc etc This is the first good RPG this generation and hopefully the first of many.

    One of the best games you will ever play… If you put in the work. And when I say work, I mean you have to feel for your character. In most games, your custom character is your avatar, a blank slate that allows you to interact with the world and be either insanely good or maniacally evil.

    This is not the case in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Your character can have depth, doubts, a character arc, and all the things you would expect in a game where you're playing a pre-made hero. This means you need to take the time to pick a class, race, and sex you'll enjoy playing. It took me longer than expected to get a character that I felt comfortable with and looked good in cutscenes but, once I did, the Inquisitor became a living, breathing person in a way no other game like that has done before.

    The reason I lead with this is because without an invested interest in your character, I can see a lot of the big story moments falling flat. I've spoken to multiple people who had played for several hours, trashed it, then went back and took the time to make a character they liked only to ended up loving it. I think the character creator, while very impressive, could certainly do a better job of letting you know how your character will look in the world. It seems like a small thing but you can't image how important it is.

    It is true that the game feels smaller than you'd expect in the early going. The skill tree looks limited and the worlds feel small for a next-fen game. It isn't until a fairly large moment in the story and the selection of a specialty that you truly realize how massive this game is. And I like that. I actually thought for awhile that I had explored most everything and had a fairly powerful character only to realize that I was so so wrong. This feeling fits with your characters place in the world and lets you find a certain level of comfort in the early going before jumping into the madness that is the massive scope of this game.

    In conclusion, this game is fantastic but it doesn't necessarily have the pick-up and playability of a Call of Duty or Shadows of Mordor. But the rewards for patient players are incredible.    … Expand

    As I Always say.Do not believe the 10s and 0s.This is a great8.5 game.Superb story , graphics, soundtrack.Lots of lovely characters .But no game is flawless.Most of the quests are fetch ones and the game is easy.I finished without any trouble on hard.There is a nightmare mode i did not try but hard should be hard and not a breeze

    Best bank for the buck, I already spent 60+ hours on the game, still haven't completed the game. If you are one of the dimwitted that plays only the main quest, you probably hated the game. It's a very solid single player RPG. It provides so much depth from the side quests, side storylines, side objectives, side characters. Most of the negative reviews I have read are bizarre, often more akin too "I don't like to read" and "My PC crashes".

    It's a pretty good game.. But the tatical camera is akward in the ps4 version (it seems that was meant for a pc game) and some history points don't really tie together, as like they were happening in a vacuum.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has you take on the role of "The Inquisitor" and a few other titles, as you build up your inquisition to seal "The Breach" in the sky among other things. This game a beautifully diverse and vast world just waiting for you to explore it. The game also has a fantastic voice acted cast of 9This game has been described as a "watered down Skyrim" but I have to disagree. This game a beautifully diverse and vast world just waiting for you to explore it. The game also has a fantastic voice acted cast of 9 companions, and since this a BioWare game you have the option to romance these people if you wish. And let me tell you, these romance scenes are top-notch. The story is fantastic and as long as you would expect a good RPG to be, at about 80- 100 hours. Also, the dragon battles are incredibly satysfying as they actually require strategy to defeat because of their size and power, and every dragon is different! Some use armor, some don't, some have major weaknesses that other dragons don't have. This game is great but does have some flaws. Some of the side quests are really just fetch quests, making some of the game feel MMO-like, and there really isn't that much armor variety in the game, so you may keep your same armor set for dozens of hours at a time. But the negatives pale in comparison to the great things this game does. I believe this game is a great addition to the Dragon Age series and is rightfully the game of the year!… Expand

The world mechanic feels vaguely similar to the original Mass Effect in the best possible way. You venture to different regions of a larger world, each strikingly unique. Once you're in a locale, you can do as much or as littleDragon Age: Inquisition feels like Bioware returning to it's roots. It's a compelling RPG with an excellent story that rewards the player for how much they invest. The world mechanic feels vaguely similar to the original Mass Effect in the best possible way. You venture to different regions of a larger world, each strikingly unique. Once you're in a locale, you can do as much or as little as you want. There are minigames to complete, dragons to slay, and a host of tasks and collectibles. I spent over one hundred hours completing every task and scouring the map for every missing item and I still couldn't grab everything before confronting the final arc of the main story. Not that a completionist mentality is needed to attend to the final boss. The main narrative is only a fraction of the game. What the designer have done is bound the side quests to the over arching goal of influence and power for your organization. In doing so, the plethora quests (even the menial fetch quests) seem like part of your hero's journey to station as the Inquisitor. There are plenty of options when creating your hero as in any good RPG from this generation. As the story unfolds you gain new options and customizations to your abilities, to the way you can craft, and even to your home. All are useful, save the castle features which are purely for aesthetic. As you grow, so too do your interactions with your supporting cast. They each are fairly interesting characters with unique motivations. Thankfully, unlike DA2, their stories don't culminate in depressing outcomes. A nice touch is that many of your friends alter their environment as the story progresses. Solas' room is the most striking example. The one concern I had with the story was how heavily it was entrenched in DA2 dlc (which I never played because I'd given up on it after completion of the main game... thrice to see if there were different outcomes). Playing the dlc isn't required to get the point of who your enemy is. Still, based on the previews, I thought Morrigan and the events at the end of DA:O would be the counter to the mage/templar war. Cameos are well placed. The story itself was well came to a fulfilling conclusion and leaves room for the future. There's also a multiplayer that's no where near as complete and compelling as that of Mass Effect 3's. Still, it's easy to sink a few hours into the dungeon crawling without realizing it. You can also pay to get ahead, but I don't think you'd get much for your money and paying doesn't give you a distinct advantage over others. While you may not find too much replayability in the multiplayer, there's plenty of content in the campaign to keep you invested for hundreds of hours. For the first time since Mass Effect 2, I'm begging for DLC.… Expand

    Bioware return to form in this huge epic game its hard to believe its the same people that made Dragon Age 2. The strength this time round is the scale depth of combat if you want it and a far more open and diverse world than ever before. The game gets off to a slowish start but the beauty of this is it just gets better and better the further you go. It has the same, fun leveling up system, nice skill trees, captivating characters that you care for and that cool atmosphere based on choices/answers, everything surrounded by an average and a bit forced plot. The best thing is, in my opinion, the size of the map; it's not a open world game like Skyrim,It's pretty simple, actually. If you enjoyed DA:O and/or DA:2, you'll love this game. It has the same, fun leveling up system, nice skill trees, captivating characters that you care for and that cool atmosphere based on choices/answers, everything surrounded by an average and a bit forced plot. The best thing is, in my opinion, the size of the map; it's not a open world game like Skyrim, in which you can travel anywhere anytime, but there are many locations. In DA:I, you will need to fast travel to get to different places or cities. But once you go somewhere, there are really huge areas for you to explore, maybe the biggest improvement in the series. The game presents nice visual effects, like the sun light or the water movement. The downside is the characters interaction. In the DA:O, you could go to your camp and talk with your party members to change their approval, give them gifts to love or hate you, etc. In this game, I didn't feel the same need, for example, to choose my answers to party members carefully, because the worst thing that could happen is read that they slightly disapprove, disapprove or greatly disapprove. And it stops there. It may change a couple of lines later, but doesn't make a big difference. But the dialog parts are still nice, with the option of being "correct", funny or more brutal, or even more options depending on the dialog. Good sets of customizable weapons and armors based on crafting and resources collecting. You can date most of your crew members, same sex or. Good game lenght as well, with lots of (sometimes silly or repetitive) side quests. I will not review multiplayer, since I've not played it enough yet. Overall, it's a must buy for new/old RPG gamers or... any gamer, actually.… Expand

    I enjoyed this game. The combat's not great, but fun, you can really chose the type of fighting style that suits you. The story is interesting and the voice acting is outstanding. The graphics are crisp and the controls are smooth. Overall, I really liked this game.

    The RPG and possibly the Game of the Year.... The scale and detail in the game are absolutely breathtaking. A must play for anybody who enjoys exploring fully fleshed out fantasy worlds, whether a DA fan or not!

    I do see where a lot of these negative reviews are coming from, but if you liked the first one then you definitely have to give this game a try. I found that it brings back the massive amount of good from the first game and incorporates the few good things that the second one had back in.

    Role-playing games are often hard to perfect. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines role-play as simply to act out a role, or character. That being said, when put in the context of a game, it should involve a balance between action, that being the gameplay, and character, that being able to portray a protagonist one can connect with. Games like Skyrim and Dark Souls have, in many peoples’ eyes, perfected the gameplay aspect. Though they had enticing characters and stories, whether they achieved sympathy from players is debatable. Dragon Age, being a franchise of games that has had polarizing entries, has never really perfected both aforementioned sides in either of its earlier entries. Dragon Age: Origins had great strategic gameplay that was praised for being just that, yet it was criticized for being tedious at times. Dragon Age 2 tried to correct that with its fast-paced action, yet it was panned for being too repetitive – especially for its repetitive environment- and being too “button-mashy” in an attempt to cater to a wider audience. In terms of story and characters, though this being a personal opinion that would definitely find some opposition, Bioware always succeeds to draw the player in, even to a certain extent. Dragon Age: Inquisition is a game that tries hard to atone for the previous entries’ sins, and it does that quiet well through its enticing story, immersive game-play and varied missions.
    A spoiler-free summary of the game would be that it revolves around your character being of customizable race (qunari, human, elf or dwarf) and gender waking up after a, literally, explosive event that only he or she has survived. With a glowing mark on his or her hand, your character slowly takes a place at a top of a newly re-instated faction whose main goal is to bring peace to a land plagued by conflict and civil war, while also trying to save the world from an imposing and glooming evil. Though the story at first glance may seem predictable, it becomes after a few hours and after the first major event twenty hours in that that is far from the truth, and that in actuality you have not even scratched the surface of what the game really is. The characters are so well written, each with a certain and unique personality, past and motives. Ever character seem realistic and alive. These characters have been alive way before the events of this games. Thus it is not hard to connect at a certain level with each and every one of your companions and advisors, or even the non-playable minor characters. Thus, the plot and its elements are as perfect as perfect can get despite some faults here and there.
    The game-play, as stated earlier, is immersive as you explore greatly varied lands, battle a wide range of enemies, and make significant choices. The areas you get to explore, to be simply blunt, are huge. Even the smallest of areas has so many secrets and landmarks to find. Though there is no physical evidence of it, one can say that the size of the game when it comes to land that can be covered is comparable if not bigger than Skyrim. Each area in the game has specialized opponents to face, yes some can be encountered in several areas, but they never feel out of place and native to said areas. Furthermore, each type of enemy should be approached in a certain manner that would be more effective for defeating it, like ice attacks from mages for fire based enemies, or bash attacks from warriors for others. Of course it should be obvious that gameplay varies greatly from the class you’ve chosen, but do not fret as you can experience others by taking control of one of your four out of nine selected companions on missions. There is also a tactical view that involves pausing the game, positioning your party, and creating a well fleshed battle tactic in real-time if one would like to call it that. There is also a great crafting system that allows players to scavenge for resources and create equipment. The equipment is set in terms how much of one kind of said material is needed, as in four leathers, five metallic, and ten other metallic material. The material can be chosen by the player, which thus changes the color and attribute of the crafted armor or weapons. Moving one to choices, the player is always involved when interacting with other characters, and one’s options can have significant outcomes and even the most minute and seemingly irrelevant conversations. This seeps into how missions are carried out, even the most “side-questy” type. You are also allowed to analyze certain situations at the war table, and choose who is most fit to carry out resource and influence bearing missions for you and in what manner. And so, the gameplay all in all falls nothing short of keeping up excitement and inclusivity of the player.
    In conclusion, Bioware has crafted a great RPG that is worth all the time and money that one would put into it, as it is always striving after player satisfaction when it comes to the game-play    … Expand

Dragon age inquisition has you playing as a mage, a rogue, or warrior, you create a group of 4, with the ability to switch between any of them in a battle, and set out to take down the villain. It's what it sounds like you cast spells as a mage, hack and slash as a warrior, and shoot arrows or stealth beat em up as an rogue. The combat itself is actually pretty simple, satisfying and addictive, with new abilities to unlock as you level up. However I felt the combat felt a little to "spammy" the majority of the time. The story was really straightforward, (bad guy wants to take over world, stop him). At least each story mission had an different theme. I also read the loot was random, but to be honest it was a hit or miss, or to put it more bluntly a big meh for me. Open world is huge, with tons of side content that I can see people putting 100+ hours to complete it. However, the majority of the side quests are kitchen sink fillers, and the majority of them felt unrewarding. As you can see, every pro in this games also has a con, and vice versa. To end, I felt this game is in the same league as fallout 4 in terms of rpg's this gen that I've played, but it's nowhere near the elite level rpgs like the witcher or horizon zero dawn in my opinion.     A good story, amazing gameplay, nice graphics, so many builds and quests, this is a remarkable RPG. Bad: No choices, some quests are very boring.

    Great characters & writing. Graphics are decent (thought some occasional flicker). But combat is too easy. Many quests are shallow and repetitive. The dreaded inventory lag makes maintaining your party's gear needlessly painful.

    I got to say that this was the Dragon Age I was more or less expecting. I originally bought it on the PS3, but I fell in love with this game and felt I had to get a PS4 to see the upscaled version. (I had been meaning to by one for a while now, this was just the push that I needed.)

    Graphics aside (I'll get to that later) the combat is slightly less action orientated than DA2, however    I got to say that this was the Dragon Age I was more or less expecting.     Graphics aside (I'll get to that later) the combat is slightly less action orientated than DA2, however it tends to focus more on steering you on a tactical route, making you think before you jump right in to every fight (at least on hard and nightmare difficulty. Easy not worth mentioning.) This change was welcome, but to be honest I did find the tactical camera a bit needless, aside from pausing combat and scanning the enemies stats.

    I liked most of the side characters and companions (except Cole, he's weird.) Story was enjoyable and for once the split path does give the game a bit diversity (limited, but more than many other games have offered on such a scale.)

    Now for the visuals: Most of the areas a re simply massive. So much space that you get a little intimidated at first. Also the diversity in backdrops is impressive. Makes you wonder why they didn't put this kind of effort into DA2.

    A comparison between the PS3 and PS4 version: Visuals are significantly better on the PS4 (making the PS3 version look ugly by direct comparison.) This is especially noticeable in the backgrounds as they have allot more detail. I also noted the PS3 version is buggier and has longer loading times. Asdie from that the game plays exactly the same.

    Overall:
    It's been a while since I found a game that I immersed myself into like this. I thoroughly injoied this game and hope that this is what we can expect from now on from Bioware.

    Developer Tip:
    If any developer read this, please give the Inquisitor a choice in casual clothes while at the keep. It seems a bit funny that he/she has only one look yet has dozens of different looking armors for each class. Not essential, but would be nice.    … Expand

    It took me 105hrs to complete DA:I GOTY edition with all DLCs done. What a journey!

    Pros: Immersive environments and setting Beautiful landscapes. A number of memorable characters Interesting twists Cool loot and gear Engaging RPG mechanics, leveling up is addictive! Exploration is fun Lore intensive Epic story if you take the time to read all codex entries and pay attention.    It took me 105hrs to complete DA:I GOTY edition with all DLCs done. What a journey!

    Pros:

    Really got attached to the main character and main party members. Classic Bioware at work, brilliant!

    Cons:
    Too many unused squad mates. Would've preferred less party options but well-written and fleshed out characters. I only used Solas, Cassandra, Blackwall, Dorian mainly. Kept hearing about Iron Bull but man he sucks, died too easily.

    Boring and repetitive fetch quests

    Side quests aren't as engaging. General quest design and story/plot mechanics could be improved.

    Too many uninteresting codex entries, which spoil the pace of the game.

    Dated character models, time to upgrade your engine Bioware.

    Boring combat. Either go all action or full RPG, this feels like an over the shoulder Diablo, which some might like to be fair.

    Overpowered too easily.

The characters are phenomenally written, the soundtrack is gorgeous, the landscapes only pale in comparison to the new Mass effect, the combat is simple, but what youd expect from the franchise, and the storytelling is gripping and had me very invested. Now overall ive probably put a good 500 hours into this game, if not more, beating it twice on pc, and then platinuming it on ps4, so id say im pretty qualified to talk about it. The game retains all of the bioware charm, and quirks, but presents you with many new and exciting features, especially like the new ginormous map locations! The graphics are surprisingly pleasant for a transitional era game, and the environments will suck you in until youve discovered every corner of every area! The many many side quests, and inner circle/party member quests will keep you invested in your allies and spending plenty of time questing from beginning to end, and though the dlc's for this game were a bit lackluster in scope compared to DA: Origins, the game really doesnt feel like it needs anything beyond what you have in base. The class system and combat was the same stripped down experience you'd expect from dragon age, but rebalanced and really making each of the 3 classes feel unique and purposeful. The Ai did leave a little to be improved as they have a difficult time making use of more complex classes, but throw an Ai tank or barrier spam mage out and your team will never go down, and besides you should be saving the more fun complex stuff for your character anyway. overall I love this game, and I have to say it is probably in my top 5 favorite games of all time at this point, and i definitely the best entry in the franchise.… Expand

    This can not be anything but a perfect ten. Solid entertaining gameplay, loads to do and I mean loads. But the story is where this game really shines the sheer effort that must've went into creating this gem is astounding. One of the few RPGs that I'm actually willing to explore every nook and cranny.

    This game is amazing. A solid 9 without pause. The graphics (at least on the PS4 to a 50" Plasma) are stunning. The graphics are awesome, character customization options are plenty, combat mode different of what you are known from other RPGs

    I played the single player mostly on PC but I did play some single player on PS4 and all my multiplayer on PS4. Single player wise it's a great game with a wealth of content, crafting, interesting story, and great visuals. The multiplayer is ok though. Apart from all the bugs it has the multiplayer can be pretty entertaining though very repetitive. Wouldn't recommend getting this just forI played the single player mostly on PC but I did play some single player on PS4 and all my multiplayer on PS4.     Very slow start as most of the good stuff in this game is kinda buried under the massive amounts of generic quests and collectibles, but once you actually get to the good stuff - main story, companions and their quests, exploring varied and beautiful locations and building your inquisition, the game becomes really good. Overall, fantastic RPG, almost 200 hours worth of fun (mostly). 9/10… Expand

    DA:I is a great game if your a fan of the series. I am. I didn't like the 2nd one much- but I played it through. DA:I looks great and is a huge game. However for some reason I didn't get quite as dragged into the story as I did with the first one. But still, a great great game.

    Wonderful RPG full of believable characters.

    If you can forgive its minor shortcomings (graphical glitches) you'll have a great time playing this game.

    The only real complaint I have about this game is the lack of choice in the ending. It's a shame I can't decide how the game ends in a game that greatly revolves around difficult choices.

    I thought Dragon Age Inquisition was a nice bounce back from Dragon Age 2 which I wasn't very fond of. I found they brought back what made me enjoy Dragon Age 1 so much and I really enjoyed the various characters and the individual back story and depth each one had. I clocked in about 120 hours on the first play through as I did a lot of exploring. I still plan on going back and doing aI thought Dragon Age Inquisition was a nice bounce back from Dragon Age 2 which I wasn't very fond of. I found they brought back what made me enjoy Dragon Age 1 so much and I really enjoyed the various characters and the individual back story and depth each one had. I clocked in about 120 hours on the first play through as I did a lot of exploring. I still plan on going back and doing a second play through at some point and I think that says something about the game after putting 120 hours into a single play through. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoyed Dragon Age 1 or enjoy RPG games in general.… Expand

    This game has a very strong foundation for the next title. I did not purchase the game before the patch so my gameplay has been almost flawless. I did have to restart the game once due to the sound cutting out but the restart immediately fixed it.

    Graphics are very good but they got lazy on a few textures here and there.     Technically the game is top notch with great graphics that offers impressive light effects and detailed environments, there's also very few glitches which is impressive for a world this big. In the other hand the loading times are a bit long for my taste, specially when you need to go back to your HQ so much.

    Concerning the gameplay it's clearly closer to Origins, you can pause time anytime and give your instructions, you don't have the ability to parry or dodge (some classes may unlock those but they come with a cooldown like any other class abilities.). It works well and it's easy to learn, but in the end the fights all look alike (except for the bosses) which is a bit boring after 50 hours and hundreds of fights. The RPG mechanics are very well done and you'll encounter everything you expect in a fantasy RPG (alchemy, forge, runes) you even get to do a bit of management as head of the inquisition and of course Bioware trademark you have to deal with your relationships with the rest of your gang.

    About that let's talk about the writing in general the main quest is rather satisfactory and fits very well with the previous games (specially if you enter your choices in the website), it wasn't intense but well written, the same goes for the personal quest of your companions and I think it's important to give so much personality for the PNJ it gives life to the world. But I was very disappointed by the (numerous) side quest you'll encounter in each zone, they're way too simple (in the writing department I mean) and there's clearly no incentive to do them apart for the rewards, like a job in real life, it's not what I want in a videogame. Concerning the length of the game if you want to complete it at 100% you can expect around 80 hours of gameplay which is very good for the genre.

    So in conclusion Dragon Age Inquisition is a solid RPG fairly enjoyable and quite generous in its content but the monotonous fighting and poor writing of the side quests is disappointing and can keep you from enjoying every minute of the game. Advisable for all RPG lovers that have already completed The Witcher 3 (if not it should be your priority).    … Expand

My only issue was the lack of meaningful side quests early on and the area based map, though that was good as the areas all looked different unlike skyrim where the whole map it really similar.     I am not a huge fan of everything of course, the stiflingly simplistic character progression annoys me... As a rogue archer, being totally limited to my bow seems like an unnecessary restriction.

    I understand the design decision, but I don't like it.

    Thankfully the game doesn't lose any points for this because it makes up for this annoying restriction with FUN combat, that can get a bit repetitive once you unlock all your abilities, but still leaves plenty of room for both micromanaging a fight or playing it more like an action game and let the AI run the show.

    The Graphics on the PS4 are stupendous. Obviously PC users will see some better visuals, but I am 100% satisfied by the PS4 performance.

    Some other areas that are annoying is the typical bioware tendency to create SO much conversational dialogue that at times it can be tedious when it is all lumped into a single setting.

    For example - When are you just returning to camp to follow a quest chain and discover all the NPC's have new dialogue this can either be really great if you are in the mood for some down time, or REALLY annoying if you originally only meant to stop in to craft a new weapon or something similarly brief.

    Like most Bioware games, each new area might have a half hour of dialogue waiting for you if you are OCD like me, and don;t like letting new NPC's go without exploring the whole dialogue tree. This can really bog the game down sometimes.

    Conversely, this can be a great thing, because Bioware rarely fails when it comes to writing interesting or engaging dialogue trees or characters.

    Still, Like all bioware Games the dialogue is a big deal, it's not smart to skip it or rush, or you will miss key parts of the story, or the characters personality and even decisions that could effect the game later.

    Overall however these complaints are little more than little nagging annoyances in an otherwise well executed game.

    i do agree with some of the criticism of the game, the combat could be better for people who want a more tactical RPG feel. This is way more Twitchy and FPS, and the tactical turn based element on PS4 is lacking.

    However, I didn't select this game for it to be a tactical turn based old school RPG. I buy Bioware games because they tell amazing stories with engrossing characters and build settings that are deep and immersive.

    say what you want, but Bioware rarely makes a bad game, and even their bad games are typically better than most other companies good ones.

    YES, EA has had some negative influence over them... But they still do best what they have always done best.

    It has most thing other Dragon age had but this time MOAR dragons-killings, luv it.
    Foe people that played previous games , they will see a lot of familiar faces.
    Story was well written, a good fantasy game.

    The gameplay is nice and it feels natural from the first moment.
    You get rolled into combat smoothly and the game builds up at the tempo it should, not too fast, but definetely not too slow either.

    Some parts such as tactical-combat mode, are a bit more challenging at first but as soon as you master them, they become a joy to use.
    These "more difficult" parts of the game can easily be left out if you don't feel like diving into them right away, however they can give you an advantage on the battlefield from time to time.

    Some people below seem to claim that gear and tech-tree don't matter, I've noticed significant changes when modifying both. It's not all "Zomg i'm full epix I 1shot evrithing", but it's very well balanced in my opinion.

    As for the quests and storyline, so far they haven't failed to surprise me. From time to time there's new little sidequests and bonus parts you unlock as you walk yourself through numerous minigames and challenges.
    Once again, they're not too hard (on normal mode) but not too easy either.

    The maps and environment are beautifully built up, and haven't failed to please me.

    The -1 side:
    Sometimes I find it oddly difficult to find out what I'm supposed to do with some of my loot.
    From the 60 slots in my bags there's 30 in use by schematics, plants, and materials.
    So far there hasn't been a push in any direction when it comes to these materials for what I should do with them.

    I think that because of that, people might make the mistake of selling / destroying the lot until they find out they can turn them in at a quartermaster / smith / ...

    (That might be my mistake for skipping over the beginning quests where you learn how to deal with these.
    But those quests aren't obligatory, so it's easy to make the same mistake I did.)

    There's no real boundaries in where you should go either, but when you're a level 4 and run into level 12 elite monsters, I guess you can tell you should turn around and start running. (lol).
    But then again, that's the disadvantage of playing an open-world RPG.

    Also there's a few minor bugs I've run into, (Unless my rogue can teleport in and out of Rocks). But they're not really disturbing the gameplay. If you're stuck, you just switch characters and you pop out sooner or later.

    CONCLUSION:

    I really, really like this game.
    In my personal opinion, without any subjectivity towards Bioware or EA-games, they have done a great job creating this. It's a must-have for every gamer who likes to play a somewhat challenging fantasy game once in a while.

    I've had a lot of "Wow", "Will you look at that" and "OH SH*T THAT BEAR KEEPS CHASING ME" moments while playing, and I don't doubt I'll have a lot more in the future.    … Expand

    This is a very good game. Some of the side quests are dull but every RPG game in history has the same problem. Controls are quirky in bigger battles but still not bad. It is worth the money. Very few games on the PS4 can claim that. Its not perfect but a great game.

    There are many negatives. Tedious missions. Repetitive battles. Jogging around mountains and barren landscapes for long periods of time... didn't they have at least horse and buggy transportation? The battle system is usually boring... easy foes don't need your attention, let AI take care of it... hard battles require you to go into "strategic mode": stop time, tell each of your party members what to do (heal, attack, inflict paralysis or shock, etc.), you heal carefully, avoid the moves of the boss monsters. Actually, some people may consider these two methods of fighting useful and helpful over the final fantasy kind of wait-your-turn to do something for everything from the most trivially weak monster to the grandest boss. For me, it means that 90% of the time, AI handles it.

    Overall, I give it an 8/10. Sure, it's an interesting game, but it takes so damn long to do anything. I'll recommend this game sparingly. Buy it if you like all sorts of quests, lots of traveling around, and not too big of a focus on fighting.    … Expand

Playing on hard I found it crucial to upgrade armor as soon as possible. If I had any complaints it comes down to how much time I spend harvesting materials. Sometimes all I want to do is get into some crazy fights with dragons, which there are in the game and, yes they are awesome and satisfying when you take one of those giant bastards down.     Everything is too schematic ('you picked 1 out of 10 herbs' kind of linearity). Imprevisibility is what makes exploration in other RPGs, like Elder Scrolls, more addicting,

    The scan system in many recent games kills the immersion. At certain point, all you do is press constantly the scan button hoping for the items to pop up. Again, Bethesda games make you actually explore the environments without the need for unnatural tricks.

    Unnecessary complex codex (descriptions, and the related pics, should be more direct and explanatory)

The entire game plays out like an apology letter for DA2 featuring heavy customization and beautiful scenery (This is probably one of the better looking RPG's you'll play) but this beautiful attempt at reconciliation with hardcore RPGrs misses the mark by creating a bloated story that seems a little too fantastic for their 'Dark Fantasy' pitch they've been trying to sell (The characters can seem a little wishy-washy and lacking any sort of edge or opinion that goes against the majority). Still, it's a diamond in the rough and it sets it's hooks into you fairly easy if you're not already predisposed to hating it.

    It's a solid attempt and I don't regret buying it in the slightest. I think a lot of people just hate it on principle because of Bioware's past blunders (Being anti-gg, Dragon Age 2, selling out to EA, ham-fisting *diversity* in their games ). Others just blindly cling to the nostalgia of Dragon Age: Origins and refuse to admit it is anything less than the perfect game. So be wary of some of the user reviews.    … Expand

    Gorgeous graphic, outstanding story and improved combat system (at least in my opinion).
    The only thing that is not working so well in this game is the tactical pause with which (sometimes) is difficult to select an opponent an identify your characters.

So just in case you hadn't guessed it already; Inquisition is miles better than Dragon Age 2. Miles better.

    The graphics and landscapes here are beautiful, the maps are enormous, the world is engaging. It's the type of RPG you just don't want to put down. Gameplay feels fluid though perhaps a tad too simplistic - I much preferred the more varied amount of spells and abilities in DA: Origins. The story and writing is of the same quality you'd expect from Bioware - decent enough to keep you interested but never amazing.

    I was however disappointed with the cast of companion characters in Inquisition. They just felt...bland and uninspired. Certainly a stark contrast to the quality of characterization in the first of the series where I felt a level of attachment to my group and was motivated to max out their loyalty and any companion quests.

    Despite having a number of (small) flaws I found Dragon Age: Inquisition to be an extremely compelling RPG and a positive addition to the series that suitably offsets the disappointment of Dragon Age 2. The biggest appeal and achievement here is the world they have created - the maps are VAST and full of beauty and detail. You WANT to explore and you are rewarded for doing so. Very few titles have such appeal. This is a must-buy for anyone who enjoys the RPG genre.    … Expand

    This game is really fun, it goes really in depth and allows you to make fun conversations, and will make you want to explore. The game really has a lot to offer and will take several hours to complete if you are willing to do the side quests. The game is beautiful, and the characters are filled with personality.

    With this being my first Dragon Age game, the story was a bit hard to follow at times. I actually had to look up what the epilogue was all about because I didn’t understand it.

    Also the lack of options with romantic partners, why not Leliana or especially scout Harding. I could flirt with her (and she certainly liked it) but couldn’t hook up with her? I just found that kind of odd.    … Expand

    Awesome game, put more than 150 hours into this, so much to do, great combat, great characters, great story, I know a lot of people have a lot of hate for bioware nowadays but this to me is proof that they still have what it takes to make an awesome game. Can't wait for the next instalment! Plus the game is huge!

It has all of the same qualities as that transcendent masterpiece. A sprawling open world with gorgeous, immersive environments. A brilliant narrative with fabulously developed characters, the best villain BioWare has written since Jon Irenicus. And mostI would give 11/10 if I could. I have played countless RPGs over almost 2 decades and this is the best RPG since Baldur's Gate 2. It has all of the same qualities as that transcendent masterpiece. A sprawling open world with gorgeous, immersive environments. A brilliant narrative with fabulously developed characters, the best villain BioWare has written since Jon Irenicus. And most importantly, Deep, tactician, fast-paced combat that combines everything I liked about Dragon Age 2 and Origins together. And last but not least, the best soundtrack in gaming since the Neverwinter Nights series.

    The gameplay appeals to all gamers. You can play casually in normal or easy without the need for much planning or pouring over skill trees. Or you can bring it to the epic level of party-based combat that I haven't seen since Throne of Bhaal. Turn on all the trials, put the slider on "Nightmare" and you will have epic fights that will end brutally for you unless you plan a great party comp from hours of pouring over the many skill trees and brilliant crafting system (the best I have ever seen in a video-game) that will give you the edge you need to overcome the great difficulty this game can have.

    Still the most beautiful game world ever, it's artistry rivals Dark Souls and the texture detail is far beyond The Witcher 3.

    Probably the most underrated video-game of this generation, this is one of the very, very best experiences there is. And the best RPG of this generation, with Dark Souls 3 being the only close 2nd.    … Expand

    Really liked it! Good story, good characters, the gameplay was fun albeit a bit repetitive/harder difficulty just takes longer, beautiful environments. Also, you can get really immersed if you want to take the time to actually read the codex entries you find + war table missions! Actually some interesting/fun side stories

    good game, it was my first dragon age game, and my second bioware I have played, I like the cc and all the conversation options that is in it, for me (IMO) a good RPG player game, is where you can make your one story, and choose how you would like the game goes, but still not full sandboxs games.

    So yeah a good game would recommended if you can get it cheep.

    The combat is fun and dragon fights are so cool (looking at you skyrim with its bad dragon fights) The story and characters and great, it has some of the greatest quests ever like Wicked eyes wicked hearts.     Story side of the game is very good. How power in society is attained and then corrupted or lost. Characters felt like people with their own views and motivations. First play trough you could not predict events and how they would transpire, with your input or lack of it.

Dragons were awesome too, but they were just beasts roaming the land on specific spots in the world. I liked the way weapons and armour were modifiable. However what i missed the most was the variety of skills, it felt like they made it so because console players would into be able to fit many of them on their interface. Playing on pc, of course the skills looked amazing, but they got old really soon. I know hardcore people would use only a few of them anyway for best optimisation, but i felt that for a world this big there were not enough ways to kill enemies differently. And the side quests did not help. Too much of same felt repetitive really fast.    … Expand

    Cons:
    x Relatively bland overarching story
    x Weak main villain
    x Siding with the mages can be frustratingly slow and drawn out
    x Minor but consistent bugs, including but not limited to: camera, combat, AI, dialogue, crafting, fast travel
    x First area (Hinterlands) filled with mindbogglingly boring tasks

    Middle of the road:
    x Some companion questlines feel unsatisfying to complete
    x Camera angles are sometimes awkward
    x Animation bugs in conversations (not consistent)

    Final rating: 8/10
    Dragon Age Inquisition is a great game, filled with deep lore, interesting characters and fun, exhilarating combat, mixed in with great exploration and vast, beautiful environments. It is only held back from being a "masterpiece" by consistent minor bugs during combat, traversal and dialogue, to give a few examples, bland overarching plot and main villain, and inconsistent quality in terms of major story decisions. I will still wholeheartedly recommend the game for DA fans, or RPG fans in general. Just a caveat, the game isn't exactly new player friendly, but there are numerous guides, tutorials and lore collections on the internet to get you set up, so it's not a big issue.    … Expand

    Good dialogs, incredible lore, nice characters, all characters have expressions, the have one or two bugs but these thinks happens, anyway is one of the best RPG's in the last years.

    Dragon Age is by far my favorite RPG franchise. Inquisition, while definitely far from perfect, is probably my favorite installment in the franchise itself. It's lacking the more in-depth tactical AI settings that the earlier titles had, but the technical hiccups are more than made up for in the vibrant and engaging setting it crafts.     Yes, this is not the first Dragon Age, but it’s still interesting to observe the continuation of the history of some characters. HERE A lot of primitives, BUT everything could be worse. All fans should definitely go through it.

    Dragon Age has the most complex stories and lore. The best part, it links all up since Dragon Age: Origins, every character has their roles and they turned out differently in each choices and consequences. Dragon Age Keep is a brilliant concept! Replayability is quite high as well because different heroes chosen based on race will have different beginnings and back story. The politics are real & I especially enjoy the dialogues even though it is long. Choices are consequential and most times are not shallow clear-cut moral choices.    … Expand

    Better 8. Big drawback for me, game is without czech subtitles. Huge game with a lot of dialogues, good gameplay with epic music. Story not bad, characters are good (for me best Morrigan, Iron Bull).
