    DOOM 3 is the ideal choice for virtual reality and its environments have never felt so vivid. The game remains an old school shooter, however the main campaign and the two expansions will give you a great reason to dust off your Aim controller. This adaptation is not perfect, but we should count our blessings.

    Assuming the player has an Aim controller this could be the definitive way to experience the story and world of DOOM 3 out of all of the ports and versions. The minute-to-minute gameplay is satisfying and punchy accentuated by the player being face first in the action and horror. Highly recommended to horror lovers who are in search of an action-oriented VR experience.

    What was already a good game proves to work excellently as a VR adventure. Grab plenty of ammo, plenty of armour, and don’t wear anything that’ll stain. [Issue#1, p.83]

    This classic horror experience turns out to be even more immersive - and intense - in virtual reality. Beware though, at times the image quality can be rather blurry.

    Overall, this game may lack the polish to make it a hallmark VR experience, but it excels where it matters most: blasting demons. Playing Doom 3 in VR is a real hoot.

    Revised for VR with stunning ghost train effects this slightly aged classic pumps some fresh blood through its steel veins. Doom 3 VR makes a good party game with splatter and jump scare galore although a halfway convincing story or witty ideas are still missing. On your trip to hell and back again you won't need them anyway.

    Doom 3 is still a great horror experience, and the new HUD and controls are perfect for VR. But it´s been more than 15 years since the game was originally released, and some elements feel outdated.

    There are many things that this adaptation could have done better, but, overall, it gives us a good opportunity to rediscover this game in VR.

    It may not push what VR delivery to the max, but Doom 3: VR Edition certainly provides a unique way to re-experience a fondly regarded game. Just be sure to tune the experience properly, or you’ll be heading for discomfort city.

    Despite looking its age, Doom 3 VR Edition adds a heavy layer of immersion on what was already a decent shooter. Scary, eerie and thrilling moments litter each of the games section's and they are all amplified in virtual reality. The shooting is tactile and enjoyable, just make sure you sit down and if possible, get yourself an Aim controller as It makes the game so much more immersive and hopefully avoids any motion sickness issues.

    Doom 3: VR Edition is a good port, but it’s also a 2004 PC shooter that’s been adapted to VR, and there’s really only so much you can do with that. If you’re okay with an experience that ignores most of what we’ve learned about modern VR game design, and you have an Aim Controller, it’s a reasonable way to spend a few demon-destroying hours. But there are better VR shooters — and there are better ways to play Doom 3.

    I was disappointed they used the " BFG Edition" of Doom 3 for VR..The origional 2006 version is far superior and would have been better forI was disappointed they used the " BFG Edition" of Doom 3 for VR..The origional 2006 version is far superior and would have been better for VR..Doom 3 on release was a horror Masterpeice, but then they went in and turned it into a generic shooter after the " gamez journos" complained.. Even though the game sold well the journos didn't like all the dark and having to switch between gun and flashlight.. So now everything is bright, your never vulnerable and the lighting that use to lead you in gone, so it's easy to get lost..
    The controls were also better in Doom VFR and the guns were not so high and in your face.
    All that being said, it's cool AF to be in the Doom Marz facility in VR..
