The graphics are not really good. They dont look like current-gen. The game is fun but it definitively need more modes! But I am sure it will get those in the next months, and then the rating can be higher!

What should have been a fun little game is annihilated by the abysmal matchmaking, broken game mechanics, and laggy nightmares. This game is a scourge unto the earth and shouldn't even be added to your library while it's free on Plus.

Disc Jam is a kind of futuristic hybrid of tennis and air hockey that can be played either 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2. The biggest issue is that the controls never really feel comfortable and, even after a good few hours play, trying to return shots and sustain any kind of rally still felt like hard work.

As a free PS+ offering its worth trying out but I don't think Disc Jam is destined to have the longevity of the excellent Rocket League.

A great game if you're not looking to put any skill in a game. A good time waster, but not necessarily the best thing for most gamers. The biggest negative is the quick chat options, with most of them being negative, it really shows how terrible the community is. After many games, not one person hasn't complained, cried, or rage quit.

Disc Jam is a real fun game and has lot of potential.

Unfortunately the net issues and a random lootbox system gives the feeling of an "early access" game

Disc Jam, feels like a glorified demo.
Matchmaking seemingly takes up to an hour or 5 minutes.
2 online game modes, Singles & Doubles.
    Very lackluster.

Great pick up and play game. Really good party game and pretty easy to get a tournament going. The game mode can get a little repetitive but I would imagine they developers would release additional game modes in the future.
Its free this month on PS+ so defo can't complain. I played the Beta and would have been happy to pay for it.

I was apprehensive in getting this game even though it was free with PS+, normally i put it in my account and never touch it again.

However i was intrigued by the game mechanics so i downloaded and gave it a play, and i recommend that you do the same. Firstly the graphics are nice and crisp ( I am playing on a ps4 pro using a 4k HDR TV) i have found no lag or issues with the graphics

Firstly the graphics are nice and crisp ( I am playing on a ps4 pro using a 4k HDR TV) i have found no lag or issues with the graphics or gameplay. The game itself reminds me of a cross between speedball and tennis and it is here where the game could turn into a real gem. running and catching the disc whilst thinking about your next shot all add to a fun bit of game play.

The only negative i have found is a few shots require you to make the use of the analog stick rotation and the game does not seem to pick up this rotation properly leading it to be a bit frustrating,

Overall i would say give this game a go. I have it in my folder pick up and play along with games like paceman and don't starve.

Once tournaments and worldwide ranking systems are in place, this game is going to be a hit. It's seriously some of the most fun I've had in games. Great pick up and play with deceptively deep skill curves. At it's price, it's a no brainer.

An incredibly impressive feat given that it was developed by a two man team. Granted, the duo that makes up High Horse Entertainment certainly have an hefty amount of experience under their belt having worked on some of gaming's biggest triple-A series, but their work here is still admirable nonetheless.

It doesn't take long for Disc Jam to get it's hooks in you. The moment to moment gameplay is fast and exciting. It manages to capture that difficult balance of easy to learn, but difficult to master all the while proving to be fun for people of any skill level. Each of the four playable characters are well-balanced and there are plenty of unlockables to get. It's perfect for competitive play and has the potential to be a party favorite as well.

However, not all is perfect with Disc Jam. It's still got plenty of room to go. As of right now there are only four playable characters and a mere two modes to choose from; singles or doubles. This lack of content at launch is disappointing, but with the promise of more to come the future doesn't look too bleak in this department. The same can't be said for the way matchmaking is handled.

A quick-match option would be MUCH appreciated. Having to cycle between different continents and ping levels in order to find a match isn't exactly ideal. Plus, at this time it doesn't seem like there are too many people playing, but this may just be due to my internet connection so I won't let that effect the score. Another issue is that jumping into another match after having finished one is just as slow. This is in part due to the rematch option. If all players don't agree to one, then you have no choice but to go back to searching from the beginning. Also, if someone doesn't want a rematch, why doesn't the game just automatically take you back to the matchmaking screen? Instead everyone else has to physically leave the match or be left staring at what is essentially just an empty victory/loss screen. A minor inconvenience, but an odd oversight nonetheless.

While matchmaking in Disc Jam leaves quite a bit to be desired, the gameplay itself makes it worth putting up with. The experience is addicting in that "just one more game" way. It's just so much and so very hard to put down. It nails that accessibility and crazy fun without sacrificing true competitive depth. Plus, it's kind of easy to forgive it's kind of easy to forgive the matchmaking tedium when you consider that something this great and polished came from a two man team.

So without a doubt give this one a shot. It's an absolute blast and the people behind it really put the skills the learned from working on Triple-A juggernauts like Call of Duty and Guitar Hero to good use. It's a fresh, new, and most importantly fun face that has the potential to be a real standout in the multiplayer scene. I hope High Horse Entertainment does deliver those promised additions. It will be really exciting to see how this turns out. Because even now with it's limited offerings, it's still one of the most fun multiplayer experiences I've had in quite some time. Please help the game reach the level of success it deserves, but most importantly give me more people to play against! ;)

Great game that invokes a lot of things about I love about Rocket League. Really easy to play difficult to master. The matchmaking could be better and everything around the base game could use a lot of polish.

It’s fairly impressive considering it was built by a 2 man team, and there’s promises of new maps, modes, and characters in the future…
But right now.. this is really just tennis…
In disc jam you choose one of 4 characters with light customizable options that are unlocked by completing matches and taking your winnings to the prize machine….
You’re looking at about 1 skin or taunt for every 4 wins which isn’t that bad at all…
And the game is actually pretty enjoyable…
As of right now there are 2 competitive modes…
    single and double…
where you can take on one opponent or team up with another to take on another team in what is essentially tennis with a disc.. you slide, catch it, and throw it back…
you can lob it to throw your opponent off which give the disc air time and allows your opponents to charge up for a super throw…
you can also mess with the angles you throw the disc
and in rocket league fashion you’re able to taunt them and get under their skin with quick chat options…
which of course is always my favorite to do…
unfortunately it doesn’t get much deeper than tennis with a disc…
It doesn’t have the thrill of great completive games…
I don’t see it being entertaining for anyone beyond a few hrs
    it’s just sort of alright.
    I give Disc Jam
    a 6/10

I was informed by my friends of a really FREE fun PS+ title called Disc Jam. It took a little getting used too but I had incredible fun and it reminded me of a great old arcade title (which i know now is Windjammers). Pulling off a special move or timing you grab/throw juuuust right is very satisfying (even more so when you pull off 3-4 perfect throws in a row). The fact two guys made this game is remarkable as they nailed the fun factor. It scores above 7 for that fact alone. I would of given it a 9/10 but for two things. Connecting to people for a new game can take waaay too long. I am not sure if it's their API code or if there is just not a lot of people playing at the mo. My second gripe is a small one, there just is not a lot of content in the game right now but I think that will be fixed with time.

Honestly this game has huuuuge potential and even if you are on the fence about getting this game remember its FREE if you have PS+, its only 2GB's so what have you got to lose.

Not only were they completely unready for how big this game would be upon release, but apparently didn't accommodate simple safeguards like people who like to cheat by pulling the Ethernet cord. Honestly I give the game isolated (perse) an 8, maybe even a 9 out of 10, but the the fact that it's a multiplayer focused game and all of the sources of the problems are from multiplayer **** I have to downgrade this game significantly. If, in the future, they patch these problems up I will not hesitate to give this game a 10/10 but it just was released and instead of rushing it they should've secured this bull****.

PS I attempted for hours to post this on the Playstation website or at least contact someone at Playstation about this but ended up circling the website for hours.

Super fun and addictive party game. It is a great concept and I definitely recommend picking it up to play with you and your buddies. The graphics are what you expect in a small Indie game. The match making is bad and currently there is not nearly enough modes. However this game is all about game play and thats were this game truly shines. This is the perfect game to have in your dorm in college.

I would not advise you to buy this game, unless its on a huge discount. Gameplay is excellent, and this game gave me hundreds of super fun hours, but playerbase is really small these days. My score is based on the amount of fun hours this game gave me.
