    Magnificent game! Its like watching a movie in the future. To say its beautiful is an understatement! IT is simply out of this world! The emotion, reality and the truth contained within our own possible future is perfectly portrayed. The graphics are simply GORGEOUS especially with a ps4 pro and 4k tv! The actresses and actresses are also sublime and dont even get me started on theirMagnificent game! Its like watching a movie in the future. To say its beautiful is an understatement!     I just finished the "Detroit: Become Human" for PS4.

    I was going to give it a 9, but then I got to the last part of the game and... well, I won't spoil anything but MAN, WHAT A GAME. Story is perfect. Character development is amazing. Everything is just really good. This is a 10/10 for me, no question. I was choking up way too many times back there. Personally, one of the best    I just finished the "Detroit: Become Human" for PS4.

It is set in a genre different from other role playing or adventure games, thoroughly avoids cliche and has the richest and most varied story trees and writing I have yet seen, comparable with the older lovingly crafted text-centricThis game is groundbreaking.     I find it astounding that a game such as this was actually made - concepts go as far back as 2013, meaning that some middle managers fought hard to get this game made, remade, polished and finally released.

    The writing is worthy of a favorite TV series or book - kudos to all involved. I really have no time to play games right now, but I stole every moment I could to further progress. Note that the game has a great narrative structure enabling short sprints of engagement, so it gets my new parent recommendation with a vengeance.    … Expand

Some events will happen each time you play the game. The main direction is always the same.     I rarely give a 10 but this game was good. The graphics were epic with the 4k upgrade, voice acting, mo cap and orchestral score a perfect 10. Also the game was released FINISHED, unlike all the other AAA titles lately. Buy this you get a complete game that is smart and has artistic vision.

    I could knock the game down a point for the occasional, ever so slightly, clunky controls/camera angles. While there's one twist mid through that felt a bit shoehorned in and a tad underdeveloped.. As much as I love similar games Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain, and Until Dawn, Detroit is more expansive, more challenging, more thought provoking, and with a strikingly cinematic eye for detail. The three character arcs are given three distinct visual styles, from the use of color, to the cinematography. Markus' story is epic in scale and scope, with grandiose wide shots and smooth camerawork, Karla's is gritty, dark, and with a more handheld style, while Connor's is cool, sterile, and precise. It's this attention to not only its storytelling, but the way in which they bring these characters to life so thoroughly, that plenty of tension spills over when you are faced with a difficult decision, or accidentally make the wrong one. Every aspect matters, and the flow chart that displays your progress and which pathways you have yet to unlock makes each play a different experience, and I think each play will be as satisfying as the last. This is honestly up there with The Last of Us and the Uncharted series for me. I'm not as much of a hard core gamer as others, but I'll definitely be returning to this one, and I already look forward to playing through it again. This is a landmark video game experience, with incredible and fascinating storytelling and unique, intuitive, gameplay. It's also genuinely terrifying at times, and even hard to stomach. Not just because of the imagery or brilliant atmosphere, but also because of how sucked into it you become, and some of your choices you may regret.     I'll give it a 10 just because it's so impressive and I marvel at these amazing games as they come out these days. This one is pretty much modern art, it's really damn impressive. I think we should reward developers who spend all this time and effort to create something unique, and this is definitely unique. This is game for mature audience who enjoy story driven experience. This game is a digital art and this is what is beautiful about it. i love that some developers take risks and bring us games which i different than 99% games out there.     Amazing game. Do Androids dream of electric sheep, blade runner. If you like these movies/books/games you will love this game. I've never teared up in a game before and I did in this one which prompted my 5 month old golden retriever to run up and bite me in the head.     Detroit: Become Human is a stellar accomplishment in video game storytelling with stellar production values across the board, sharp visually driven direction and top notch acting. It's also the best writing of a Quantic Dream game to date, with a lot less of that awkward 'French to English' overcompensation problem that we saw in previous games. The gameplay is more refined than any previous game in their library too, offering a greater variety of scenarios and types of scenes to interaction with. And these are the strongest lead characters for a QD game as they all have clear goals, motivations, distinct characteristics and memorable moments to make their stories resonate. Major props especially to Connor, who I want to be a real character just to bounce off conversations with! I only had a few minor but not major issues with movement controls now and then, but that's the only thing I had any issues.

    A lot of reviews will point out how it is a very familiar civil rights story, but, while they are not exactly wrong, they are ignoring that ultimately execution is what matters in making a good story. We see these stories all the time and usually they're praised for being bold or daring (especially if it's a 'trendy' topic). Yet somehow this game doesn't merit the same praise because of people's backlash to David Cage and because of topics it didn't discuss that are not even relevant to this story (sorry, but race doesn't really matter much to synthetic lifeforms since they are in themselves their own race). I feel it is intellectually dishonest the way some critics have bashed this game as clumsy for not meeting some imaginary bar by those critics. It can only be judged as what it is and what I personally feel is that it is a new benchmark for cinematic driven games that has lingered with me long after I played it.    … Expand

    I'm playing that on PS5 and I'm impressed. Very realistic faces. Probably the best I've seen in a game. It's impressive it has been developed for PS4. Environment is not that great, but still very good. UI animation and design is superb. Gameplay is something fresh for me.

First of all, it is as much a game as it is a mental experiment, a way to challenge you and your values, your definitions of what life, freedom, God and singularity are. It can be as deeply emotional as it is profound, as it forces you to feel attached to the characters as well as ponder their personal motivations. Its diversity and the choices it offers are also remarkable, much better than those of any Quantic Dream game beforehand, Heavy Rain included. But most of all i was impressed by how the game challenges your perceptions of what's real and what's not, and it does that in a variety of ways, including by using its Main Menu in ways i have never seen before (promoting so-called philosophical surveys, asking you questions, it even goes as far, depending on your choices, as to challenge you to allow the eyecandy android depicted in its menu animations to 'walk free', meaning you will lose her as the 'face of the game', which will be replaced by a (mostly) white image. I loved the way she was implemented, and was really sad to see her go, but it's all about one's values, isn't it? As for the endings, they can be really heart-wrenching as it is really hard (or impossible?) to get the 'good' ones for ALL parties involved, or all 3 main characters - and the fact that they're all wonderfully constructed makes it very hard to decide who you want to sacrifice, especially since the repercussions of your actions are rarely easily apparent in the game. Overall, this was a one of a kind experience and, for me, a complete masterpiece. Well done Quantic Dream, you completely surpassed even my highest expectations!… Expand

Each choice matters and I could almost see the 3 characters have atleast 10 major endings to their story and considering who all live/die along with us adds to to even more probabilities. The good thing is you can go back restart the checkpoints immediately if you regret the outcome of any decision. But there is also a nice way to prevent you from changing the decisions often, some effects in the game is based on decision made very early in the game which cannot be changed now. If you want, you have to do it all over again.

    The game's greatest feature is also its great weakness. With multiple possible story branches and endings, a gamer can never fully see all the outcomes unless you replay it N number of times. I managed to check out some videos in youtube for some alternate paths I didn't take and was amazed that some of the endings were completely different. Loved the game even more after watching those.

This is even better than Heavy Rain, Indigo Prophecy, and Telltale's Walking Dead Season 1. I liked the story and decisions were so fun. I just liked the setting and the characters quite a bit.     I didn't expect to like this game but I was bored 2 days ago and fired it up. Already finished 1 playthrough. Had to keep playing to see what would happen next. Good chance I will play it again at least once to see what I can change in the story. It looks like there A lot of could be a lot of different paths and endings

    Quantic Dream have really outdone themsleves with their newest title. For me they've improved on every aspect of both Heavy Rain and Beyond and created a superior narrative experience for players which is memorable and thought-provoking, each of the 3 main characters are intriguing and have uniquely interesting stories to tell. Quite comfortably my Game of the Year so far.

    Detroit B H has a Great story, best in class digital art, wonderful performance capture with above average storytelling and an excellent soundtrack all of which coalesce into a fantastic interactive story. If you are a fan of the tv show 'Humans' then this is the game for you.

    do not believe the naysayers who say this isn't a game. they know what they are getting and it is meant to be an interactive movie with some gameplay elements so anyone can play the game and enjoy it. these naysayers should just stick to their GoW and dont play this type of game if it is not interesting to them (just like i dont play console racing games cause i dont like them but i do not purposefully go and give a racing game a bad score just because i do not like them)    … Expand

    Simply amazing. Great graphics, deep and adult story where a lot of deep ideas could be found. Finally real story variation with lot of branches. Cage reached completely new level and beats hands down his own games. No doubts one of best games I played. And while I get almost happy endings there is still whole lots unplayed branches or even chapters.

    This game is amazing! So many options and storylines, things that can go very different and open new dialogues and completely new option and people to play with. This game is my favorite together with heavy rain and beyond 2 souls. I had a very good ending :) Only 2 characters died in the end so I was happy overall. But I recommend this game to everyone!

    The story may be generic as a Si-Fi, but the experience is really good.
    All choices do have real impact, more or less, there are more than one ending.
    But there is something I don't like, it's that many story branch depends on your failure, and I guess most player won't really aim at that.

    One of the best interactive movie i've ever seen. Beautiful graphics, sound, music and character animation. Nice sci-fi story like Blade Runner with many endings. Enjoy one of the best PS4 exclusives!

    When I saw the first trailer of Detroit back in 2015 I realised that this game will be the most important reason for me to buy a PS4. Was it a good choice? Definitely. I only wish I could wipe every memory of this game from my brain and experience it again. Both Heavy Rain and Beyond had some problems with plot holes or other minor issues. In case of this game everything feels very polished and decent. Graphics and motion capture are state-of-the-art. I am not able to count how many times this game made my heart beat so fast. Not to mention producing a lot of emotions during gameplay. Music, acting and plot are also a great delight to eyes and ears. The only one tiny thing I'm missing is more philosophical questions about being alive, but except of this Detroit is my personal favourite. 10/10. Thank you Quantic Dream.     David Cage didn't disappointed me this time. After very weak Beyond: Two Souls I was a little scared to see new game made by Quantic Dream. But that was completely unnecessary, because Detroid: Become Human is just Heavy Rain 2. Bigger, better - just fantastic game for all fans of narrative experiences.

    If there wasn't Blade Runner, this might be considered an ultimate Science Fiction game/movie. Still as it is this is as amazing as gaming gets in my book!     I really enjoy the story and characters much more then I already highly expected! The voice acting and motion capture were some of the best I have ever seen in a game.     The way this game was developed, with three stories intertwined together to form a comprehensive narrative, is remarkable. The story in itself is nothing new, but your interaction with it makes it epic!
    I played the entire game a second time and make some different choices. That is when something amazing happened: the story changed radically! Entire scenes and narratives were gone and new ones took shape! I felt like I was playing a different game. I could not believe what I was experiencing!
    Granted, the theme of the game and its type of gameplay is my cup-of-tea, so I was predisposed to like it, but it also means I expected a lot from it. However, what I got was beyond my wildest expectations! I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you like story-driven games where every decisions are meaningful, you’ve got to play Detroit!    … Expand

    I have finished all Quantic Dream's (not David Cage, he is not QD, people should give the studio the credit!) games since Fahrenheit and while I enjoyed them, there was always something lacking or too much but that trend ended with Detroit for me, it checked all the boxes and got the perfect score from me!     I can't believe how much negative reception the game got, I assume it's because David Cage is probably not much of a decent human himself but maybe those reviews should have factored the team behind it and judge the game, not the studio head.

    Let's get to the game:

    First of all, the decisions really mattered and the game really changes based on them; it's also so smooth that you don't realize that you might be off the path. But the amazing point is, it's not just for the sake of having different paths, they actually are all well-crafted!

    The three separate characters really feel like three different games with Kara being my favourite one and Connor and Markus tied at second (ok, I like Connor a bit more, to be honest!), yet somehow the stories come together so well that you can feel the butterfly effect! Unlike Heavy Rain which had very poor voice acting, the acting in Detroit is amazing, I really liked the level of attention and the love the actors had put in! (I recommend watching the behind the scenes clips of the show)

    The music was top notch, great idea to have three different artists for each character, really well-done!

    The graphics are so great and beat games released this year! It's amazing how well it performs on PS4. Granted, you should like the genre: it's not everybody's cup of tea but if you do like Interactive Narratives, this game is hands down the best one ever made.

    I was going through the news and saw that QD recently formed a new partnership with NetEase so I am not sure if the next QD game would be a loot box riddled mobile game or else, but if this is the last AAA game they made, it ended on a high note!    … Expand

I'm a huge fan of David Cage games and I gotta say that in my opinion, this is one of his best games that will change this genre forever, just like Heavy Rain did back in the day. The game's world is so detailed and believable. The three main characters offer different stories, which come to one at the end. Connor reminded me of Heavy Rain's investigation scenes and offers new mechanics to the genre. Kara has a completely different story tied to her. She breaks her programming and risks her life to protect a little girl named Alice, who is a victim of domestic violence. And finally, we have Markus who is this leader of the Android revolution who also has a heart-breaking story.

    It's rare we get a really great game in this genre and I consider this game a huge milestone and one of the best games that can be considered art ever created. It's also an important topic as this is probably how our would will look like in a few decades. We will face similar problems, just like the characters in Detroit. I applaud David Cage and hope he gets even more budget for his next title. For anybody thinking about picking this game up, I recommend it for 100%, you will be satisfied and consumed by it, you'll struggle to stop playing it as the story is very engaging. If you have friends to play this game with, or if you want to play it alone and focus on the story, it doesn't matter, you will like it, I assure you. It looked amazing, had great storytelling, and unlike those Telltale games actually really had tons of different endings---something like 85 endings. It's pretty devastating to have your character die and not be able to load an old save. You just have to live with the consequences, atI normally just play so-called AAA games, but I picked this up free with Playstation Plus one month.     I really don't tend to like games like this. I did not care for Heavy Rain, and I do not really enjoy playing the Tell Tale games, but this game is freaking outstanding. They nailed it with making a great story with tons of decisions that actually matter, and shape the story. I do want to go back and play it again but it does seem like somewhat of a chore to play through another time.

    Quedé maravillado con la historia y como esta se ramifica en muchas opciones posibles , además la sensación que se vive en cada escena, te hace sentir inmerso en ella, lo cual hizo que no me distrajera de la trama en todo momento, el pero fue la parte extensa donde Marcus debe llegar a Jericho, fue un poco latera, pero bueno... no le puedo dar un 9 por ese detalle a esta obra maestra,

    One of the best games to play with your significant other that does not play video games ever. I do the controlling, and she did made the decisions. Best co-op ever :)

    Hands down the best narrative choice based game to date, with a sleek controller and excellent character and plot. This is a must-have for anyone who owns a ps4!

    One of the Best game I played since the Witcher 3. The story was presented so beautifully that I sometimes forgot that it`s just a game...
    Easily the Best PS4 exclusive for me.

    This game is amazing! The graphics are absolutely insane and the narrative is a improvement over other games of Quantic Dream. Congratulations!

    Overall, the game is an amazing experience.

    The soundtrack is perfect (they used three composers for each character), the graphics are detailed and beautiful and the most amazing thing is the sheer number of choices and interactions.

    And not to forget the game main menu assistant which is an excellent additional feature that gives extra life to the game.

    Ignore most of the "professional" reviews for this, they have never been fair about games by Quantic Dream and they certainly won't start with this one.

    Detroit: Become Human is the cumulation of everything that David Cage has done before.     So ignore the professionals and look at the User Score. And add at least another point to make up for the people giving this a bad rating, just because they are not able to follow or appreciate the story.    … Expand

    Detroit: Become Human delivers a story with a ton of possible choices, and a lot of questions for a player to bear afterward. If you like it when games make you think about them after you play them, this is the game for you. Stunning visuals and music score, make you forget about some weaker points of the game. But all in all, it is an enjoyable experience you should not miss.

    Detroit: Become Human looks and sounds great, and includes key player choices throughout, though it could have benefited greatly from a tighter script. While it’s commendable that Quantic Dream tried to cover hot-button issues in a big-budget video game, it works better when focused on the personal character moments than the bigger themes that don’t dig deep enough to make a meaningful impact.

    Although the narrative is fairly linear, there are enough branching paths over the course of the game to make it feel like your actions matter. That allows Detroit to still be fun even on multiple playthroughs – and for an interactive movie, that’s a rare praise. [Issue#231, p.68]
