Finally destiny unleashes its true potential without the restractions of activision. This is the destiny at its best.

I kinda expected the servers to get hate even though every game gets with problem when MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WANNA PLAY. But anyway I finished the storyline and this isn’t just good. This is a different Destiny. The story build up is steady and builds up pretty damn well. I can’t spoil anything or ill have too press that spoiler button. The new gameplay feels much better and the story finally is building up to the bigger story that the destiny universe holds. To those saying the story sucks, I want to say that the story of this year is too large to be told in one campaign. This story will span the entirety of this year and probably for the rest of destiny 2

I didn't have enough time to finish campaign of shadowkeep Just think it's unfair rate game because it has some issues on the launch day in a few first hours

    Moon is amazing, Eris too
I wish I could continue my journey soon
    And Remember guardian moon's haunted

This Expansion has revitalized my interest in the Destiny franchise and it should be given a shot by anyone who loves this genre of game.

The new setting is really quite excellent and storywise there are some elements here that are quite fascinating. I'm roughly 6 hours in and still playing through the new story missions. I think it would have been nice to introduce a new enemy type and new public events but overall it's really fantastic.

The biggest complaint I have is that I didn't get my season pass but it seems like an issue affecting a lot of people so I'm sure Bungie are working to address this and i'll get it pretty soon.
Overall it's highly recommended for destiny fans :).

edit: after checking the bungie help page it seems that some people are receiving silver instead of season passes. I have exactly the required amount of silver to buy the season pass so I guess that's what happened to me :). If you're experiencing season pass issues check to see if you have any silver :).

The Story is a big step forward for the franchise, as well as all the QoL fixes and rebalanced sandbox. This season looks to be a very good one.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Shadowkeep is a fantastic expansion for both new and old Guardians. It takes Destiny's already amazing RPG mechanics and expands them 10 fold to create an experience that is exciting to come back to week after week.
Whilst the story is alittle contrived the overall narrative of a plot line that evolves throughout the year is very intriguing just like Forsaken's Dreaming City which has some of the best world building and narrative in a video game. The new gear is great to use with some standout examples such as the Deathbringer Rocket Launcher and the Vex Offensive series of weapons that have a great Black Garden look to them along side feeling like a weapon that was actually forged there.
Shadowkeep however does have some major flaws, the first being the painfully slow light level grind which is shock to the system for veteran players like me who are more used to Forsaken and Rise Of Iron's leveling systems. The artifact is also to blame for this as it ironically inflates the player's light level which can make getting gear to be of level very frustrating at times but should not be an issue after 650 when pinnacle activities will be the main source of leveling.
The main story whilst interesting for fans of Eris and the story of the moon from Destiny 1 will be confusing for Destiny 2 Vanilla and Forsaken newcomers who may not care about her plight and story but that is the issue we don't get to catch up with too much and know what she was up to during The Red War and The Curse Of The Dreaming City which is a shame because Eris is one of the most intriguing characters in the series. Also the cliffhanger at the end of the story was handled poorly which again is a shame because it was building up to a great revelation that is cut off far too soon.
Overall though I still think both veterans and New Light players should give Shadowkeep a shot as it feels more in line with a Destiny 1 expansion rather than a Destiny 2 expansion which may or may not be a bad thing depending on your viewpoint.

Earth's Moon was my favorite location in Destiny 1 and I am happy we get to return their. This is the first time I've really enjoyed Destiny 2 as much as I did the first game. There is so much to do in this game. The story is short but that is to be expected and Bungie said themselves that this is only the starting point. The new Vex Offensive game mode is really fun. Awesome new weapons through that and through the moon. The finishers are a really fun addition to the gameplay. I can't wait to get to the raid which I've heard is really fun. The new nightmare hunt thing is cool. There's so many ways to earn gear now. Almost every major NPC has a weekly quest and now there's weekly quests through gamemodes and locations as well. The season pass unlocks are really awesome as well. Much more gratifying than just an engram. I have gotten some really fun stuff from that. The Seasonal Artifact is great as well. It unlocks some great abilities like the Anti-Barrier rounds which let you shoot through shields. Overall I am having a blast with this expansion and I can't wait for what's next! Expand

I can't help thinking that many user reviews here were written by people who don't actually comment on the quality of the expansion itself, but instead want to vent about more general issues with the game (like "Destiny 2 is too similar to Destiny 1!").

As a regular D2 player, and after a month (give or take) of playing Shadowkeep, I'd call the expansion rock solid. The new campaign is pretty good (although I wouldn't call it amazing) – I love the atmosphere, but the mechanics/gameplay is largely "more of the same".

However, in the bigger context of what Shadowkeep adds to Destiny 2 in total (new Armor mechanics, new events, and so on), I'd say they pretty much nailed it.

Reviewing this as everything Destiny 2 has to offer. It is and has been my favourite game for many years and I have spent days on end playing this game like a religion. I admit this game is not for everyone but if you have ever seen any gameplay and thought it looks cool... hop in! it's FREE. Then, see if you are in for the long haul and invest some money. Shadowkeep is an underrated expansion for Destiny 2 that definitely needs more attention than what it actually is.

Bungie’s new DLC falls flat due to its rehashed Moon setting, yet there are still moments of brilliance here. The season pass price is hard to justify, but the free-to-play main game gives us hope. [Issue#169, p.94]

A good expansions that shines in its most difficult activities, but that does not offer enough content to keep the community engaged for a very long time. The new path taken by Bungie is very promising, though.
