Love the artwork and music in this game. As well as the isometric view. Also enjoyed looking for secrets and the exploration. Wonderful indie-gem. Great atmosphere and music. Gameplay and puzzels are well done. Difficulty is not too high. Only downside is you get lost sometimes and it's unclear where to go next (not that important).

Even the Boss fights each have their own story and purpose, you can feel the detail and love that this game has. Expand

    _________
    THE GOOD:

BEAUTIFUL ART: Death's Door music is easy on the ear (if a bit repetitive) and the graphics are gorgeous. Indeed, the game looks so crisp that I feared I was playing one of those mobile darlings that are all style and no substance. I shouldn't have worried.

SOMBER, DARK HUMOR: It's rare to find games where you feel bad for the boss you just killed. Death's Door treats characters with respect: after killing a boss, you attend their funeral. This kind of darkly philosophical humor runs throughout the game.

MEMORABLE CHARACTERS: From the sad story of the Urn Witch to the hilarious owner of the Stranded Sailor's tavern, some of Death's Door darkly funny characters stayed with me after I finished the game.

FUN: The game doesn't overstay its welcome, and its difficulty is set just right. It was fun from start to finish–at least until I reached the endgame.

    ________
    THE BAD:

SHALLOW COMBAT: Combat in Death's Door is fun, but it loses some of its shine once you realize that the fights tend to feel all the same, including boss fights.

WEAK ENDGAME: Granted, you have plenty to do in the endgame–but that "plenty" mostly consists of a gigantic fetch quest that I found extremely boring, even after reaching for a guide. And once I got my final piece of lore as a reward, I found it unnecessary and inconsistent with the game's tone.

DIALOGUES COULD HAVE USED AN EDITOR: In a game that's so carefully polished, it was jarring to see sloppy punctuation in the character's dialogues.

A really good rogue-type game, with beautiful scenery and still a surprisingly great narrative. I was surprised at the depth of emotions this gorgeous game gave.

My complaints are about the freedom of exploring the world which at one point kind of scripted so you need to obtain specific abilities before you can fully explore the next area. The game's enemy design kind of bland as they have the same attack pattern with different looks. Last, the content of the game is way too short. I've finished the game only around 10 hours which combine with post game content and exploring the world.

Overall its worth trying but repetition is not there, at least for me.

Great game! Combat is very attractive, not easy, not super hard. Puzzles are clever and rewarding. This game is very well balanced and joyful.

Artistic and cartoonsih by the looks. You play as a crow! Combat is simple but challenging. Hard but enjoyable. (Hardest in first hour or two) Story is unique and characters are stylish. It is sad that is done by two people! What else to add exept that it is a Masterpiece! ✨️

Not bad at all, great music, good level design and funny gameplay even if not too much complex.

Mias uma bobagem indie que faz os reviewers profissionais irem à loucura. Tudo medíocre. E sempre, claro, com aquela pegada "sou muito arte" que meio que já chega dando carteirada. Não perca seu precioso tempo com esse pão com ovo.

Death’s Door is a fun adventure that offers up some really good exploration and a deliberate, yet fast combat scheme that feels both challenging and rewarding. Going through every nook and cranny of a level never disappoints and progression is handled in such a great way that every play session feels substantial. Fans of the old school Zelda style games should not pass on this one, it’s one that I believe many will enjoy.

Death’s Door is an excellent action-adventure gem, balancing solemnity with laughs and moderate difficulty alongside forgiving mechanics. Its combat is pure and satisfying, and the light-RPG elements make progression enjoyable. What I admired most, though, is how all of these elements work in tandem as Death’s Door offers an adventure that feels fresh. From the exquisite environments and discoverable upgrades/collectibles to the delightful characters, you won’t wanna miss out.
