    A new well-designed world and contain very interesting mini-stories. Hollywood stars has very good perform. You'll want to finish this game even you don't like it. If you hear Sam's story, you really want to how it is end.

    this game is amazing, a masterpiece in my eyes , BUT if you're looking for a game to just pick up a gun and kill thousand enemies through a cliche storyline...definitely not your game...this game requires some deep thinking and a open mind...you don't like it, its ok...but call it garbage? then i think your parents failed to teach you manner

    Wow, amazing experience!!! The storytaling is amazing, it's so calm, and it is an enjoyment to play this game after a hard day! The songs and sound in this game are one of the best in the industry! Low Roar songs fit into the gameplay very well! The graphics and optimisation are amazing, my ps4 slim makes no noize! There are some small bugs, but they don't make the gameplay worse. So, ifWow, amazing experience!!! The storytaling is amazing, it's so calm, and it is an enjoyment to play this game after a hard day! The songs and sound in this game are one of the best in the industry!     Best atmosphere ever, really creative story and the gameplay is fun if you use the gameplay-mechanics how theyre meant to be - think before you do anything like in real life. If there is an area with thousand of tiny rocks then dont fu**ing use your truck like in the dozens of bad reviews. First make your way barefoot, build streets and then use the truck, man.

    While not exactly what I expected I really loved Death Stranding. The remote cooperation mechanics were fascinating and pretty poignant for current affairs. I found the narrative to be intriguing and the world to be quite rich in depth and intent.     Death Stranding is one of the most unique games I've ever played. The gameplay revolves around the core mechanics of terrain navigation, melee and weapon based combat against human and super-natural enemies, managing your cargo and equipment, and building structures such as roads, generators, shelters from hazardous rain, etc.

    Death Stranding is not a game for those who seek instant    Death Stranding is one of the most unique games I've ever played. The gameplay revolves around the core mechanics of terrain navigation, melee and weapon based combat against human and super-natural enemies, managing your cargo and equipment, and building structures such as roads, generators, shelters from hazardous rain, etc.

    Death Stranding is not a game for those who seek instant gratification and or have low patience. It wants you to stop and smells the roses, immerse yourself in a lonely and desolate, yet beautiful = post-apocalyptic world. The action may take a back seat for the most part, but it is still very satisfying over all. The game is very good at rewarding the player with new equipment at regular intervals to make the harsh natural landscapes easier to overcome.

    The music and sound design is absolutely top notch. The soundtrack being one of the best I've ever heard, setting the tone and invoking emotion perfectly. the graphics are fantastic with smooth fluid and realistic animation. great performance with only the occasional slight frame-rate drop during fights with some of the larger monsters. Excellent performances from the actors. The writing can be great, and sometimes it can be cheesy. But i feel the cheesiness adds a certain charm. They lore of the world of Death Stranding is surprisingly deep and fleshed out and everything in the fictional world seems to have a good logic to it, And many of the gameplay mechanics seamlessly fit into the games lore. There is a slight learning curve to the controls, carrying items and handling Sams balance and weight while carrying cargo.

    The first several hours are very slow and heavy on dialogue. It is necessary to understand the plot, however you have to option to skip all cutscenes if you so wish.

    People play video games to experience what they cannot do that they want to do in real life. This game force you to experience what people do not want to do in real life (boring and repetitive running around with a package). Kojima sensei really need to retire. Graphic is good. But that's all there is. Story feels very artificial.

    Kojima is a complete hack, they were right in firing him. I bought the PS4 Pro bundle with Death Stranding thinking this was gonna be a masterpiece, what a disappointment! At least the PS4 pro looks good, but I wish I could remove the death stranding logo from the front part.

With plot being written like an angsty teens anime fanfiction with lots of plot holes and some political believes of Kojima himself such as totally original "Orange man bad" and characters with the least settle names that anyone could think of, and yes their names do hint their motives. Don't you love when the game treats you like an idiot by giving you away everything you need to know about it but still wants you think it's super complex and sh*t? Mama, Fragile, Dead Man... great names i'm really sure it's fitting... for training bots in a multiplayer game. Any interaction with the characters in a long run is pointless do to the fact we're given away everything we need to know about them at the very start. Gameplay? It's absolutely attriocious, it's basically sandbox game created by someone who never seen a sandbox game and only heard about it from person who hates sandbox games. The whole delivery thing could be an interesting as side mission to earn some extras and not the main theme of the gameplay, people despise that word but it's very accurate represantation of this game. Walking simulator with very little of danger in the game world, reused environment and completly empty world. Sure say it's post-apocaliptic world but than again presence of Monster Energy Drink being so relevant and unaffected literally breaks that illusion. Currently the game is to put it simply forgotten and dead. So much for game of the decade and all of that echo-chamber of worshipping Death Stranding and Kojima.… Expand

An unique experience, a wonderful combination of brilliant acting, a moving story and one of the best soundtracks that I've experienced in games. It took me 6 months to beat the game because there were times n which I just wanted to deliver stuff and enjoy the landscapes. Some of those times I was rewarded with a new song, making me feel like Kojima put so much effort to motivate players in every little part of that world. The loneliness plays its part, but the online system served as a remind that there were others trying to help, to improve and rebuild that world.
    Special thanks to Mr. Mikkelsen, he gave life to such a tormented character and his final scene holding the baby and whispering a lullaby made me cry for real.
    A definitive experience on how violence shapes our downfall and how our connections (friends, family) can save us from particular nightmares.

    I'm about 15 hours in, and I will say that this is the only game I have said "trash game" among all the Ps4 games I have played. Good graphics, so far a so-so story, and the worst gameplay and traversal in the world. Would not recommend this game to anyone when there are so many other good games out there    … Expand

    Now that I have completed the story after spending 100 hours in the game in over 2 weeks, here are my scores by category: Gameplay - 10/10 Story - 5/10    I would like to preface my review by saying that I am a very picky gamer.     So, considering the above, it is a pretty good game, even for me. I was hooked right from the beginning by the world, gameplay and social mechanics. I only wish it had a better story and writing. There were some good moments in the story, although they are marred by the overall picture.

    Despite the lackluster story I give this game a 9 for its innovative social mechanics, addictive gameplay, gorgeous visuals and excellent polish.

    I think this game is for people who like logistical challenges and making the world better for others, or just getting a tonnes of likes for that, ha-ha.    … Expand

    Nothing but a masterpiece. A journey like no other. The best game of the generation. Visuals top quality. Story mind blowing. Gameplay addicting as hell. Curiosity of what's coming next keeps up to the hype it creates. Screw the reviews screw the ones specially who gave it low scores just to gain the spotlight. Jus go on this adventure.

    Wow! What a journey. Wasn't for sure how I was going to like this one but it hit the ball out the park for me. The World is breathtaking with some of the best waterfalls I've ever seen in a game. There's a great sense of accomplishment as you figure the best routes to cross rivers and mountains that block your path and that keeps growing as you build roads and bridges as the game goes on.Wow! What a journey. Wasn't for sure how I was going to like this one but it hit the ball out the park for me. The World is breathtaking with some of the best waterfalls I've ever seen in a game. There's a great sense of accomplishment as you figure the best routes to cross rivers and mountains that block your path and that keeps growing as you build roads and bridges as the game goes on. It's definetly man verses wild type of ride. I took great satisfaction in finally reaching the pinnacle of a mountains peak to look back at the amazing world below knowing I could install a zip line to help me next time I cross. There's something to be said at a game that makes you breathe the world in and even put the controller down many times just to enjoy the view and the great music along the way. I never felt bored and thought the game is paced great with amazing cut scenes, new rides, guns, stuff to build, and other mechanics all throughout the journey to learn and master. It's a slow burn a lot like red dead was but damn what a journey through a beautiful world that I think we all will be talking about for years to come. Thanks to Kojima the crew and anyone who's helped me along my journey in this game for that I'm truly grateful and not alone.… Expand

This is the only game I'm able to stop in for no reason, and just watch the landscape. The story is just.. wow. Never seen anything like this before. Only negative experience I have in this game is the vehicle physics. Motorcycles were kinda okay, but the truck.. hell.
    So to the point!
    I don't respect those people's opinion who simply just say: IT'S TRASH or THIS GAME IS A JOKE. That is not a critic, just hate. Either for Hideo Kojima, or they just call something sh*t that's not their taste. If I'm not interested in a game, I simply don't play it instead of hating and crying on it. This is my opinion, game's my GOTY, and probably one of the best games I've ever played. And yeah, downvotes because I gave 10 for the game is common as I see in the user score section.    … Expand

    It's a very divisive game, and the majority of players that come expecting something full of action or a style of gameplay akin to MGS will find this underwhelming or boring. However i feel that the few who connect with this game will find this experience to be completely immersive, intimate and gratifying

    I’m glad to experience this game! Breathtaking! All my basic questions got answered in the first 5-10 hours. The bike is crazy fun! Just take your time and pick up deliveries trust me things get wild ;)

    Played for 4 hours last night, woke up immediately wanting to get started again - if it's a walking sim, it's a pretty damn sexy one with an amazing 'feel', both artistically and in player movement.

I actually think the game is fun, you just have to play it with the right mindset to enjoy it. It's a slower paced game with a heavy narrative focus, and more about the experience than a obvious Shoot Bad Guys Gameplay Loop. The Main gameplay loop is more of anOk, this is getting odd. Even though this game isn't a Mass Appeal Game, I don't understand why they're all giving it a zero. I actually think the game is fun, you just have to play it with the right mindset to enjoy it. It's a slower paced game with a heavy narrative focus, and more about the experience than a obvious Shoot Bad Guys Gameplay Loop. The Main gameplay loop is more of an environmental puzzler where you try to find a way through harsh terrain, and it's quite fun if you enjoy these kind of simulations. It's not a regular walking simulator either, because the walking is actually quite complex at times.

    Anyways, if anyone is reading this, I'm not so sure if many of these reviewers actually even bought and played the game.    … Expand

    I wasn't a fan of Kojima's previous games, but something drew me towards this one. With Death Stranding, you get more of an interesting and somewhat drawn out story, which is facilitated by playing a game. The main gameplay is surprisingly good, sometimes fun, always challenging and very repetitive. Yet it never gets old and I am not 100% sure why, as at its heart, it is a walkingI wasn't a fan of Kojima's previous games, but something drew me towards this one. With Death Stranding, you get more of an interesting and somewhat drawn out story, which is facilitated by playing a game. The main gameplay is surprisingly good, sometimes fun, always challenging and very repetitive. Yet it never gets old and I am not 100% sure why, as at its heart, it is a walking simulator (and the only walking simulator that accurately emulates it perfectly) combined with some unique and innovation game mechanics. It's almost like playing a racing car game and doing 2000 laps around the same track for 40-60 hours. You do the same things for the entire game, but little small nuances make it seem fresh with each mission.

    This is definitely a very unique experience, and those looking for a fast paced game may find it a struggle to keep engaged. It kept me engaged due to the atmosphere of the world, the great selection of music, the uncertainty of what exactly is going on and the unique feel of the game. There is nothing like this and in the current climate of games, where the same crap is recycled over and over again, this stands out as a truly innovative game.

    There are times I was frustrated with the game, some missions require you to walk for 50 mins only to drop off the delivery and be asked to go right back to where you came from and come back here with another delivery. This for me hurt the game already slow pacing and made it frustrating as it was delaying the progress of the game and really felt like pointless padding. Another issue is you can't skip cut scenes, Having to watch the same machine process a package over 100 times gets old after about the third time and some of the cut scenes run close to 1 hour. There is close to 10 hours of story specific cut scenes, which for me was about 5 hours too much. The stretching out of conversations adds nothing to the experience and creates a disconnect as people don't talk like this. There is bad stuff happening and spreading fast, but lest just you as many sentences as we can, to just some so very simple things.

    I didn't find the story mysterious at all, interesting yes, but I picked up on two things very early in the game which turned out to be true. Maybe I was just able, somehow, to see through the over elaborate drawn out story telling methods used, which were meant to hide things but it all seemed pretty obvious to me.

    The sum of all the parts that make Death Stranding are very good. It's by no means a 10/10. The map system should be more usable and have a better zoom feature, the UI at times is not user friendly especially in combat situations and an editor was needed to cut down the over indulgent cue scenes and tell Kojima when enough was well and truly enough.     Very great atmosphere, intriguing story. Gameplay starts out SUPER SLOW, that's why you see all the 0/10s, they couldn't take a very slow start for 3 hours. At about chapter 3 you get all the cool **** and gameplay goes from 5/10 to 10/10.

    My girlfriend is really enjoying it, and I'm enjoying watching her play. Beautiful world, interesting soundtrack, chill gameplay. The story can be a bit hard to follow, but worth getting invested in. The pace reminds me of some of the quantic dream games. Not for everyone, but very neat to others.

    This game is amazing! The low scores are from people who want to bring the hype down. I think this is a solid 9 and with great actors. Kojima choice to bring Lindsay Wagner is really smart and brings back that nostalgia from the 70s. Try it for your self. This is not just a game, it’s an experience.

However, once the wheels began turning more quickly and both the story and gameplay mechanics revealed itself, Death Stranding became the transformative experience I expected from Hideo Kojima. This game is easily the best example of story told and mirrored by the actual gameplay experience. There are plenty of critics of the difficulty or clunkiness- but I found that when a new tool or mechanic was introduced, using them from that point onward instead of writing them off greatly improved my experience (Zip-lines are the first to come to mind, I've seen players not use them at all and the lack of them could easily make some of the latter half of the game far more difficult than it needs to be). The story is surprisingly final and tight for a Kojima affair- I completed it with every question essentially answered. The entire experience left me captivated, and even after completing the main campaign I still found myself deeply committed to the post-game. If you feel like you have the tenacity to let the story and gameplay do their job at their own pace, you'll complete this game feeling satisfied and moved.… Expand

    It's the best game I ever played, you can see how much effort and souls from Hideo Kojima. Yes, the gaming mechanism is delivering packages, but why could this become a problem? if you ever play Euro Truck Sim2 and its multiplayer mode, you will know it's kinda a similar experience, when you drive for the whole night and see the Sunrise at Scandinavia.

If you're someone who aren't willing to play a game for more than 5 hours than please don't buy Death Stranding as you'll either ruin it with negative reviews or clearly not patient enough for a game like this. I can't stress this point enough, since none of the negative reviews mention the storyline then clearly they never made it past the first few hours so its not that unusual for them to be so confused/lost about the game as its the same as stopping Game of Thrones after episode 1 and wrote **** about the whole show...

    Pros:
    Addressing the Critics first, this game should be viewed in 2 aspects and completely separately, the "Cutscenes" which is basically a brilliant made TV show/Film and should only be viewed this way and not as boring and unnecessary bits that causes the player not to "play the game". The storyline itself is incredible unique and Kojima has done an incredible good job in creating a sci-fi world that has never been seen before combining the concepts of Life and Death in a way that has never been explored before in the world of gaming. The actors does an excellent job with portraying the storyline although the cheesy lines can make some scenes really cringy to watch.

    The other aspect is the "Gameplay", where in this game it turns into a supporting aspect of the cut scenes as opposed to the other way round with most games. A lot of people mention this as a "walking/delivery simulator" and while this is true to some extent, people who has this view refuse to look beyond what the game is about. Kojima goes above and try to creates a game that highlights the importance of helping other people out or "connecting" (literally the whole premise of the game). You're awarded likes for creating useful structures in aiding other players and I spent a good chunk of my time actually either building roads or structures to help the players that might potentially use them. It takes the "selfshness" out of gaming and puts in a more selfless kind of game play which i don't think anyone is used to hence the negative feedback. Not to mention the enemies (BT's/Mules) adds an element of difficult and stressfulness to the game play which helps to spice up the gameplay. Plus the people who complained about "inventory management" are retarded, there is literally a button that does it for you automatically.... I think what the critics are getting it confused about is "planning" your actions i.e what items to bring along with you and what is feasible. Again since it's not traditionally seen in games to "plan" what you are doing, it's probably why it got so much hate.

    Cons:
    This game isn't perfect and there are a few really annoying things in the game that put me off.

    I understand the need for world building, but it is a really slow start (about 2 hours of cutscenes when you first start the game) which i guess is what caused all the negative critics as no one is willing to make it past it. But once past the slow start it does make for a incredibly fun game later on (past chapter 3).

    One of my major annoyances of this game is the credits. I think i watched the credits 5 times throughout this game and its completely unskippable. I understand the need to see who worked on this game but when it is literally the actors name and Kojima's name popping up 4 times with only 1 full length credit scene it seems way to excessive and unnecessary. It's like Kojima wants to reinforce the fact that HE made the game constantly... Credits should only be viewed once, MAX twice.

    Difficulty. You literally cannot lose in this game if you have enough blood bags, which is a bit annoying since you then end up fighting really recklessly if you don't have any important cargo. Considering how well you're supposed to plan for the trips the combat doesn't make up for it. But BT's are still fun to dodge.

    It can get a bit too repetitive, but what open world game isn't repetitive? The storyline definitely makes up for this.

    Conclusion:
    This game isn't for everyone. But none of the critics ever mention how great the storyline which shows that none of them ever finished it or ever gave it a proper chance which the story itself is a solid 10/10. The gameplay is quite different to traditional games where there is as much of a focus to help other people as well as do things for yourself. I guess people aren't used to helping out other people or maybe never considered it to be fun to actually be a good person and help other actual real life people.    … Expand

    This game isn't for everyone, it's true, the game is just A LOT of walking, but this game is a so good, the story is rewarding, and the soundtrack is the best I've heard, so I won't say everyone should play this, but if your into games that make you feel, than buy it rn.

    Graphics amazing, collaboration system with anothers players is so cool. Must play.

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
