    This game is an absolute masterpiece! I´ve not seen such a creative storytelling in a long time. Yes the gameplay may be slow but that´s exactly the point. You are supposed to feel lonely and helpless sometimes so you actually can appreciate any sign of an other player. I can´t understand all the negative reviews at all.     This game is intertwined with the film. When you watch a cut scene, sometimes you get inspired by the speech of the heroes. The game in my opinion turned out to be ideal

    La banda sonora en mi opinión es la mejor de todos los juegos que he jugado hasta el día de hoy.     Grafica delle ambientazioni impensabile su PS4 (stesso effetto di quando ho giocato a Red dead redemption 2), storia e narrazione a livelli altissimi. Gameplay profondamente diverso dal "solito" ma capace di lasciarti sensazioni uniche. Ogni consegna è soddisfazione e sacrificio. Unica pecca, le animazioni a volte singhiozzano un po' e altre sono troppo veloci.     Es un juego bien hecho falla en algunas cosas pero ningún juego va a ser perfecto si que el tema de caminar es un poco tedioso pero hombre es un "nuevo genero" no se si se pueda llamar asi pero lo que a prometido lo a cumplifo y lo a hecho bien otra cosa que en la historia si que al principio no entiendes nada pero luego es como un bum y nada mas que decir

    O jogo é realmente ÚNICO, te entrega várias emoções diferentes, porém o foco dele que seria entregar variados suprimentos não me agrada muito, não que seja ruim, mas se fosse um jogo de sobrevivência (e somente isso) eu gostaria mais.

    Yes, it's a monotonous game. Yes, somebody will understand the game and the story. But the monotony is part of game. Is it only a delivery game?     In this game you're a deliverer that get a deliver to make from A point to B point. But in your path have many enemy types and you can kill (if is a human enemy, it's a mistake) or make stealth. Some chapters have a high level action and break the game progress. The story is good, but is confused and it will be reveled in the game end.

    Death Stranding is a great game. It's a different game, a creative game that we didn't see in years, escaping from the generic sequence: Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Halo, Forza, Need For Speed, also GTA's clones and many shooter battle royalle clones.    … Expand

    What else to say, decent game, that shows best in you, properly balanced gameplay if you know what to expect and ready to spend 15-20 hours getting inside Kojima head. But beileve me, this game woth every minute you sprnd in it

    The playability is quite good, I must say, but some times, especially when you get into rough terrain, it can be a little frustrating.

    Games are suppose to be experiences that get you out of your world and get you somewhere, making you lose perception of time. And this game is a new experience, and it will get you to lose track of time.
    But not all ways. Sometimes it comes to a point that you just walked for so long, doing the same things, over and over, that it gets boring. So boring that in fact, you'll pop out the cd and will continue to play that game that you never finished because you didn't have the patience to..

I just finished the game and to be honest at the beginning it felt really boring and not very interesting but as the story went along it was very interesting and its safe to say that this game has one of the most confuzing and at the same time amazing story telling. the combat for me was phenomenal the fight with mules shows that you are not a fighter just a delivery guy and that is why you can only do a 3 hit combo. people that are hating about that please have paitence you have so much to see and expirence the fights with higgs especially even the long walking and delivering cargo for me was very epic because of how detiled this game is and how the backaround of the player looks amazing just every aspect of the game seems like its on some another level. The game itself is not for everyone but the gamers that adore kojima and have a little paitence will be hipnotised by this amazing journey and have the best moments in their gaming world. Game worths every penny and it will be a best ps4 game for a long time.… Expand

Вобщем получилось ровно то что ждали, очень необычная и противоречивая игра которая одним кажется шедевром, а другим провалом. Время конечно всех в итоге рассудит. The scope is massive, being able to literally traverse to anywhere you can see. The characters are impactful and each fleshed out with their own stories that bring them together via a commonality of loss and hope.

    Some issues to note are the lack of variety in gameplay and also a lack of intractable characters and NPCs. However, these things don't detract too much from the game itself and can be overlooked depending on your enjoyment of the rest of the game.

    If this is anything to go by, I am looking forward to Hideo Kojima's next work in the future as a free man from liberated creatively from the shackles of his former employer and clearly, his free creativity is boundless and full of potential.    … Expand

    El mejor juego de 2019. Es mucho más adictivo de lo que puede parecer en sus primeras horas de juego. Visualmente espectacular y con un sistema de juego que no se parece a ningún otro. La trama y los personajes son puro Kojima. Un soplo de aire fresco al género de los mundos abiertos.

    How can you rate this game 0 considering it's powered by one of the best gaming engines of the generation? What about music also 0?

    UPDATE: After 10hrs in the game this is at least 8/10 game.
    UPDATE2: After 20hrs, this is a great game. Kojima weirdness check, cooperation with other people in the game check, long cutscenes check, console is silent even though the graphics are the best I've seen to date check.
    UPDATE3: After 60hrs, didn't finish the game, I started to get bored. The game is great but def not for everybody.
    UPDATE4: I picked the game again, and it was fun. Finished 100% after 110hrs. Final rating 8/10. Great characters, weird story, you can get easily bored with the game. A bit over bombastic Kojima style. He wanted to make the game longer than it should've been.    … Expand

The gameplay largely involves of walking from point A to point B, and just from that alone, i can see why alot ofDeath Stranding is the latest game from Hideo Kojima and its safe to say that its his most divisive game yet. The gameplay largely involves of walking from point A to point B, and just from that alone, i can see why alot of people dont like the game. But even then, i just got attached to the gameplay loop and it actually got pretty addicting, the reason being that its probably because of the risk and reward that the game offers.

    The open world and the traversal kinda reminded me of Breath Of The Wild which is kinda weird seeing that DS's open world is pretty barren compared to BOTW's, but i think thats why i really like it, but i probably wouldnt have liked the open world or hell, the game as a whole as much if it werent for the online system that the game has. In my opinion, this is an online system done really well for a single-player focused game. Its pretty similiar to the online system of Dark Souls but its more akin to Nier: Automata in my opinion, where players can help each other by donating their items for other players or create structures together so everybody can use it. Its actually a pretty good system once you understand how it works.

    Now, since this is a Kojima game, we of course have to talk about the story. From the moment this game was announced back in 2016, the story was what intrigued me the most, and well what do i think of it? Well after years of waiting, In my opinion, the story of Death Stranding is just not as good as Kojima's previous works. Its better than MGS V that's for sure, but when comparing it to Mgs 1, 2, 3, and even 4 to a certain extent, there's just something missing that i'm not really sure what it is. That being said though, i still like the story as a whole when it introduces new and interesting concepts just not when its being overly pretentious at times. Though if you are currently playing the game, i highly suggest you complete it, even if you dont like the gameplay loop and the earlier story segments because the game and the story in particular really gets bettter towards the end and around the 20-ish hour mark is where the story got really interesting in my opinion.

    One last thing i wanna mention in this review is the soundtrack, which is probably the best thing about the game in my opinion besides the visuals. There are some really great moments in the game that i dont wanna spoil that wouldn't have work as good if the music werent there. From the OST's to the songs from Low Roar, it's really awesome and it adds so much to the game's atmosphere.

    So to round up this review, Death Stranding is a game that i really enjoyed even with its faults. The story is great even though its obnoxiously pretentious at times. The gameplay loop, while boring at times, can be pretty addicting thanks to its world design and online system. The visuals are really great and can be mesmerizing even though there's no day-night cycle which is a a shame. And the soundtrack is the best that i've heard all year. I really wanted to gave this game a 9 or hell it could even be a 10 at some point, but there's just quite a few problems holding it back from being a 9 or a 10, which is why i'm giving this an 8. i wanted to give it an 8.5 but unfortunately metacritic doesnt allow decimal review user scores.    … Expand

    A lot of trolls in here, huh. These people probably own an Xbox One. Sad that Metacritic does not have some sort of verification system. Anyway, this game is one of those games that prove video game is an artform. So happy of what they made, the gameplay and especially the story.

    The game does start off with a lot of cutscebes but after a while the gameplay becomes more in depth this is a new and original kind of game. I'm enjoying every but of it but only play it if you like high art although i know that sounds obnoxious    … Expand

    It's not for everyone. The gameplay is about how you're going to manage your inventory to cross the terrains for making your deliveries. The side quests can get tedious at certain points however the story did keep me hooked up for more. If you're open minded to try something new this is the game you've been wanting for.

Amazing OST with amazing acting and sublime graphics.It literally blows my mind, if I'm not playing the game I will be thinking about it. Not many games have the privilege of doing this to me. That translates to 4 out of every 10 player reviewers quit around 10 hours in. And if you look at the user stat score, that number holds true. (stats provided by Sony themselves through trophies earned). This review is coming from someone that's placed 57 hours into this title and I actually have a fairly good handle on the topic at hand.

    Now, make no mistake, this game is a lot of traveling around, walking, transporting goods and equipment. It's also a world builder. Meaning you'll be salvaging materials, collecting items, raiding NPC camps (known as MULEs) to build roads, structures and to advance the game. It is essentially a third person take on sim building only you're in avatar form with some conflicts. (Think Minecraft only with better graphics)

    The story by and large is missed out on the 42% that quit after finishing chapter 2. The story (without spoiling anything) is a perspective commentary on everything that's wrong in social media, society as a whole and the perceived "advancement" of civilization in the digital age. It gives you an honest take on what separates us a country, as a culture and as people in general. So many of these fools expected a fancy gun play, a spiritual successor to Silent Hills or a dark and gritty action/adventure game. And even though I personally didn't follow every press release or watch every trailer, I knew this would be different because I understood the mind the game was coming from.

    Hideo Kojima always prized a non-violent approach to problem solving yet knew that wouldn't sell. That's why in the Metal Gear games you could always go guns blazing, but the games were built prizing non-violent solutions over straight killing. The same things goes with Death Stranding.

    What frustrates the "Western audience" is the fact that every top selling game hits quick gun play, values body counts, and treasures rare loot. That's the model now. And, that's what sells. The stories (as thin as they are) are built around characters people can project themselves into. That's not the case in Death Stranding.

    Let me give you some advice. If the review you're reading ONLY mentions "it's a walking simulator" or "it's nothing but fetch quests." Do yourself a favor and ignore them. Because that's a hot take on the first 10 hours of the game at minimum. If they don't mention bike riding, truck driving or exoskeletons, they didn't play past chapter 2!

    This game has a solid story. Gameplay and battles with MULEs and BTs are fairly fulfilling, and those so called Fetch quests lead to better gear. You're doing yourself a disservice by not playing the game in its entirety. It's not a flawless game. But it is good. I haven't even mentioned how timefall affects the game and structures over the 57 hours I've played! It IS that deep.    … Expand

    Buying Death Stranding was a risk. I’m not one for massive open-world games, I didn’t know what the hell the game was about, and the early divisive reviews made me even more unsure. And yet, the further I got into the game, I realised I was playing something in a way that I’m not sure I’ll ever experience again. The online system is fantastic, the world is photo-realistic and absolutelyBuying Death Stranding was a risk. And yet, the further I got into the game, I realised I was playing something in a way that I’m not sure I’ll ever experience again. The online system is fantastic, the world is photo-realistic and absolutely beautiful (the game reaches its peak visually when you’re up in the snowy mountains), the BT encounters are consistently tense, and as weird as it sounds, the walking is the best part about it. There are cutscenes aplenty to wade through with varying degrees of success (the late game cutscenes, while interesting, are a chore to finish), but you should come to Death Stranding for a wholly satisfying gaming experience that needs to be played to be believed, filled to the brim with a colourful cast of characters (and cameos aplenty from the film world to look out for!) and scenery to die for.… Expand

    I’ve played 11 hours so far and I can say without a doubt this is the most unique gaming experience ever. The story is amazing. And the delivery gameplay is fun especially when you enter a MULE camp and slap all of them up with their own cargo you stole from them. I’m in love!

    The game gives a completely new and incredible experience. Also pleases attention to detail. Designed landscapes, character animation, detail of the world, gameplay. Love the atmosphere and cinematic insertions. Hideo Kojima once again proved to the world that he is a genius!

I have played the first 4 metal gear solid titles and for me, this game has to be funner than Metal Gear Solid 4 which I consider a low point in the series. Death Stranding keeps the bizarre art direction from MGS4 but does not knock you down with it, nor has oddly annoying enemies like MGS4.

    I feel the art direction and design is    I am 20 hours into this game and liking it so far. I have played the first 4 metal gear solid titles and for me, this game has to be funner than Metal Gear Solid 4 which I consider a low point in the series. Death Stranding keeps the bizarre art direction from MGS4 but does not knock you down with it, nor has oddly annoying enemies like MGS4.

    I feel the art direction and design is more focused here in Death Stranding. Themes of death, pollution of the environment, crude oil, and gender roles are here, and expressed in ways that make you think. Also apparently the theme of loneliness is supposed to be here. Or maybe male loneliness and disconnection which is the life experience so far for the protagonist. Speaking of, the acting is very good here, especially Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Léa Seydoux. Some of the supporting acting is good too, notably Margaret Qualley.

    I feel I have to address some of the negative reviewing here as it pertains to the game and those who consume games. Writing a negative review saying you were bored or put off is one thing. However, those that are swarm down-voting the positive reviews alludes to the fact that this game indeed evokes a passionate response for better or worse (and that’s a testament to its quality). I admit I didn’t watch a lot of the trailers but at least one trailer made this game look more action-packed than it is.

    However, more likely the negative reviewing is an extension of “gamergate” and there are sub-hints in the game why this might be. For one, how Norman Reedus is portrayed is almost sexually objectified. There are a lot of scenes of him near-nude and in positions which accentuate the contours of his body. Also the fact that he cares for a baby and actively enjoys it in the game likely makes him appealing for women. Also the fact that there few women characters that are scantily-clad in this game. Gone are characters like “Quiet” from MGS5. However, I think Lea Seydoux is extremely attractive and does not need to constantly show skin to see it.

    So-called “man-babies” who like bullets, explosions, and objectified women are likely a large base of the negative reviewers and swarm-down voters of the positive reviews. I don’t think its actually going to shout down those including myself who are enjoying this game.    … Expand

While I think most who experience the story in full would be quite moved by it, it is unlikely that those who cannot bear the monotonous gameplay will see it through. The themes of loneliness together with the importance of cooperation make a well balanced experience in guiding Sam through his grueling journey in this post apocalyptic America. This game, as with all of Kojima's games, serve as a message, or warning, as well as a dramatic cinematic piece. At times you will feel serenity as you reach the peak of a snowy mountain, at others you will be bored, and just wishing you're at your destination already while stumbling over jagged rocks. It is a very subjective experience in terms of whether you are willing to endure the hardships in front of you.… Expand

    Personally I am really enjoying Death Stranding. I do understand that it is not to everybody's style, however the ability to help other people out who you do not even meet appeals to me. The story is well told and has a fantastic cast of actors in it.

If you like games like Splintires, Flight Simulator, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Observation then this is for you.     Game vicia. Você não quer parar de jogar até desvendar toda a história e sabe quando você vai conseguir isso? Só no final do game você consegue entender sem entender ao mesmo tempo, isso mesmo. Jogo é incrível.
    Jogo peca em alguns detalhes, principal na física.

    I do not do this kind of thing usually and my English might not be the best.

    But this game is breathtaking, I have not played an open world like this ever in my life, and lord knows I love open world games, but this one is just unique. I am no game designer so I'll try to make this to best of my capacity.     The in game mechanics are brilliant and most are quite original, the fact that walking up a mountain with 100kg of cargo is challenging is a facet of open world I had never seen.
    The mechanics with the Bts are fabulous and incredibly entertaining, the smules I have not gotten to try them out too much because they can indeed be quite challenging. The shooting and fighting is exactly what you can expect from a kojima led game.

    The sound design of the game is fabulous, I got nothing more or less to say about it.

    The story is brilliant, and the end is one of the most rewarding ending scenes I have ever had in any game out there, I have not been gaming for too long but 20 years I have been playing games since I found my fathers Sega and was playing the Macdonald platform games, and to be fair from that day up to now I have never ever jumped aboard a strong feel train as I have at the end of this game.

    This game is not for everyone, so if you are reading this hoping to learn more and i you should or not buy it I'll make it simple.

    Do you play games that are slow and where patience is key? Then this could very well be for you the universe is incredibly large, there is no dead space because your character interacts with all environments.

    Are you more of a fast paced gamer who would rather play CoD, Fortnite or GTA? Then do not get this game you will be disappointed, I enjoy both slow and fast paced and this was a complete blast of joy.

    The cast is mostly amazing, script is a bit rough at points but nothing too bad.

    It was just the best 50 hours I have ever spent on a first play through of a game.    … Expand

    I’m about 15 hours into the game. I’m at the start of chapter four. The story is intriguing and dramatic. The gameplay won’t pull every gamer in. I found myself wanting to help others by building helpful routes to complete missions. I think this game is out to teach us that alone we struggle but together we progress. It’s a very cool game... just be patient with it.

    If you are a fan of Ico, Shadow of The Colossus.... if you are a fan of the beautiful, realistic open world of Red Dead Redemption, and the sci fi mechanics of Horizon Zero Dawn, then you will love this game. Do not believe the negative reviews, they probably dont have a PS4. This is a slow paced game, with great music, beautiful graphics and a very engaging story and characters.     Поставлю общую 9, сюжет просто великолепен - 10, интрига с первых трейлеров до финальных титров, геймплей довольно оригинальны местами увлекательный, но не тот, что заставит тебя играть в эту игру снова и снова через годы - 8, саундтрек, катсцены на высочайшем уровне - 10.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
