Muchas gracias.

It is one of the big disappointments of the generation.
The story is OK ,not good, but not bad at all, and the gameplay is just an excuse to make a videogame. The game is pretentious in all the senses.

Imagine, we are travelling through all USA from West to East, and near the end when we are on the East they say-Sam, now just go back to the West. Just like that without a reason. No vehicles, no power-legs, nothing at all. Just super boring walking for maybe 4-5 hours or so. Because Kojima wants you to suffer.

    Would you like that?)

What happens when hideo kojima just wants to make films now and comes up with the concept of playing as a postman? You get the same mission 5000 times while you wait for the next interesting story bit. Coming from a fan of mgs I'm not annoyed this feels so different. I'm annoyed it feels like nothing much has replaced those gameplay sections in mgs that made them so interesting

Death Stranding is is the highest budget walking simulator. If menus configuring package by weight on different body parts and pressing L2 or R2 to keep balance randomly or else risk dropping your carefully balanced body weight seems entertaining this game is for you. Unfortunately I don’t think this appeals to many.

Story wise it’s a cool movie concept and the ghosts (BTs) are creepy and well animated. So many famous people with bizarre dialogue that is very lost in translation. Why does a character have to be introduced to his own mother as “here is a character. Your mother, [her first name]”, or “it’s me, [weird character name]” the 100th time they talk to you. It’s as if everything is told to you with awkward dialogue instead of showing you. The plot told to you is vague but if you think about it you can get the general idea and it seems cool for a movie.

Graphics are gorgeous and the online feature where you see ladders and other useful terrain crossing items is a cool idea, for a delivery walking simulator. For a walking game there is very little to explore outside of terrain and delivery points. No secrets or lore to uncover just deliver packages. This is incredibly unacceptable for a walking video game.

And it's the first game I would give a ten out of ten. Yes there are a few flaws but it gets so scaled over by all the good. The flaws I'd say are the unnecessary cutscenes. And the fact we can't just do everything in one screen, like recycling, it's for some reason on another menu. Rather than just an option you can press in the cargo menu. Now I'll say some of the goods to contrary the bad of the game. The environment is super beautiful and super challenging, there isn't a part where you're bored, if I can say so myself, as the environment is an enemy itself. And there are countless of BD territory and MULE territory to spice it up even more. It's super fun all of the challenges and gameplay stuff you'll encounter. There's never a dull moment! But I would say put a higher difficulty than normal, the game was a little easier for me. But it was still fun nonetheless. I would totally recommend this game for anyone! Expand

Except for when sometimes, there is a boss fight. But they aren't very good. There are no mechanics other than "aim and shoot until it is dead." Death Stranding is essentially a walking/amazon delivery simulator. 95% of the game is delivering packages and rest is just cut scenes. The map is big, empty and has lots of repetitive locations. although it tries to be realistic with its idiotic balancing mechanic, you can still drive up almost 90 degree hills with motorcycle without problem that is just stupid.

But lets get to positive stuff.
The Game can still be fun if you have patience. it rewards you for some side delivering with cool equipment throughout the whole story. Some characters are really interesting and story is pretty solid, but predictable near the end. Also after playing the game over 100 hours i didn't see lot of bugs and optimalization is good.

Summary: after finishing the game and getting platinum trophy I never want to play or see this game ever again. I wouldn't recommend this game to everyone, but I believe it will find its right audience.

Death Stranding is game that is made out of good ideas. It is a game that is built on aiming for greatness. It is a game that does many things that many people love. It is a game that deserves recognition for what it tried to do. But it is also a game that people are not obligated to enjoy despite its faults.

Death Stranding has a disconnect between its story and gameplay that it never tries to reconcile. People worship you for delivering 5 pounds of medicine in a mission that took you 3 minutes to deliver. People will admonish you for things that you have no control over. The gameplay never touches the story and the story tries to use the gameplay as a sort of analogy for the setting and the world it takes place in but it forgets to ever do anything that makes sense.

The story telling method they chose to go with is meaning through obfuscation. Rather than give you a story and meaning they give you words that have no inherent meaning and then drip feed the proper interpretation of them to you over the course of the game so that you construct the plot yourself as you go. Chiral chiral chiral chiral, good, bad, voidout, chiral, chiralium, beach, beached things, voidout, chiral, bridges, Sam. You start the game with 2 hours of that before the game even starts trying to try and mean anything.

But then the game grows into something amazing. When you get past the intro and you look past the story you find a game that is a piece of art - where players work together to shape and reform the world for the convenience of each other. It allows you to define your experience and engage in a community art project. For a couple chapters.

After a few chapters of this interesting concept the game dumps you into a hellish nightmare in which your movement speed is reduced, vehicles barely work, enemies can't be avoided (and are even more tedious than normal to fight) and the only way to progress is by going out of your way to build zip lines so that you can minimize the amount of time you play the game.

Once the hellscape ends the game dumps you onto exposition lane - a series of 5 chapters which repeat the story to you over and over again, simultaneously summarizing your previous 30 hours of gameplay and force feeding you confusing and nonsensical twists. The game never had anything resembling pacing but in the last 5 chapters all pacing goes out the window completely. The game revels in making you do nothing for a while (literally nothing but walking around an empty environment) because it's trying to convey a message to you about your character that it thinks is more important than player engagement.

When you finally get to the final chapter the game has you spend 15 minutes emotionally investing you before providing you with a 45 minute cutscene that is comprised almost entirely of cutscenes you've already seen before providing the final shocking twist. It is patronizing. DS does not respect your intelligence, it does not respect your time.

DS does not respect what you want in a game and instead prioritizes what it wants to be over what it could be. This is not, in of itself, a bad thing. Games are explorations of art and potential and a game deserves to strive for something meaningful. But being art does not put it above criticism. Many, myself included, will not find the games attempt at meaning worth the time or energy investment that it takes to get to the payoff. If the story had been better, less patronizing? Maybe then it would be worth it.

At its best I felt the game was a 9/10. At its best I wanted to keep playing and do everything. I wanted to explore and to participate in its world.

At its best I felt the game was a 1/10. Not fun, not meaningful, not worth my time or energy. I stopped playing several times with no intention of coming back but I did eventually force my way through it.

DS is a game of high potential dragged down by lame executions and poor design choices. It is a game that I want to influence the world, but it is not a game I will ever play again. It is a game that I think everyone should try but that I would never recommend. It is a game that deserves all the criticism it receives and it is a game that deserves all the love that its fans have for it. Death Stranding is a game that will stay in my head for a very long time, but very little of what I think will be positive.

4/10 - Game of the Year

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like it. I use HzD as a walking simulator and DS starts good, looks gorgeous and sets you up nicely in the story. Then everything goes south. Repetitive cutscenes after every action (even peeing), the same explanations over and over again (via video, audio and text, most of the time not skippable, but pausable, WTF). And then you realize, that everything is pointless. You can't die and even if the BTs get you and you explode, you come back, grab your cargo and everything is fine. When your cargo is a human, you might nearly even destroy it, deliver it as a bloody package and everything is fine. So: Nothing matters in this game. Horrible user interface, repetitive missions, the same cutscene over and over again and every few hours a little movie to bring the main story forward. And there are 10 hours of movie stuff in this game (not counting the mentioned peeing cutscene). What really shines in this game is Decima, the graphics engine. The graphics look fantastic. In 4K HDR on an OLED it generates some of the best looking images I ever saw on the PS4 Pro. Too bad they not only forgot to create a game, but they did this on purpose. Expand

Not only that, but a lot of the physics are really clunky, and the BTs as they're called were interesting for their first reveal, but then they just come off as another addition to the mentioned annoying systems.

This isn't to say that Walking Simulators are boring or bad. The Stanley Parable was really fun and enjoyable, but imagine if that game just suddenly kept throwing objects at you every 10 seconds to stun your vision, or block out it's narrator with a ton of loud noises. That's what Death Stranding does for it's whole Delivering Packages shtick.

The story is pretty eh. I think it lacks any real hooks or OOMPHs to get you involved, other than that it does have some good moments, and the actors are great too, but we gotta talk about the writing for a second. Fragile(one of the main characters) has a lot of the most cheesy and one dimensionally stupid lines i've ever read. "I'm fragile but not that fragile." is something a middle school student would write in their rough draft of a "About me" paper. If you're not one for long winded cutscenes, you'll also want to stay away cause everyone in this game likes to take up a lot of your time.

The idea of vehicles, structures, ladders, and other items left behind players is pretty cool. I wish I could meet other players though, but for what it has, it's pretty nice to know you're not alone in the game.

Overall it's a 3/10. This game is pretty painful to play, and I would definitely recommend a lot of other games than this one. But this review isn't over yet. I wanna go over some of the other things surrounding Death Stranding.

Kojima said that the reason American players don't really like Death Stranding is because we prefer FPS games, and that we're having trouble understanding it. I think this is just a poor perspective to take on the situation, and is just a blatant attempt to dismiss our criticisms because it's actually just a really damn boring game.

3 years after the Kojima-Konami split up, the first game from Hideo Kojima’s new production studio has finally released. While I would classify the game as a third-person action/adventure game, the game’s director classifies it as a new genre called – “Strand”. With some people calling this game a glorified walking simulator and some saying it’s one of the greatest games of all time, where does this game truly lie?

The story starts off with you playing as a delivery man named Sam Porter Bridges, who is played by Norman Reedus. Sam must deliver cargo to sectioned-off regions of a post-apocalyptic United States due to the unknown threats of the supernatural event known as the Death Stranding. Sam is then tasked to connect all of America to a collective network to save everyone. Sam is given a BB unit to help him with this task, a baby in a jar that can detect BT’s, which is just this game's version of ghosts. Honestly, I could spend all day just talking about the beginning of the game and all the terminology but that where Death Stranding story gets a lot of its charm. The story is engaging from beginning to end thanks to creative storytelling and a wonderful cast of actors that bring this world and story to life. The ending is one of the emotional and heartfelt rollercoasters I have witnessed this generation. If you are coming to Death Stranding for its story, you will not be disappointed.

The gameplay is trickier to talk about. Is it a walking simulator? – Yes and No. The first few hours can be sluggish as all you will do is walk packages from one location to another. This may turn some off from the game, but later portions start to pick up the pace. After the 3rd episode in the game, you are able to craft useful structures, signs, weapons, and vehicles that can help you or other players advance in the story. These structures can be given likes so you can see how many people found what you built and how useful it was to them. This sense of community and how you help each other progress is a big part of the game. There are 3rd person shooting segments every now and again, but that's not the primary focus of the game. It’s a game that some people will like and others will not, but despite that, I had fun helping other people reach their goals and encouraging them to see Sam’s journey to the end. There are moments where you will be bored or frustrated, like the beginning of the game or trudging through the snow at slow speeds, but if you’re willing to put in the work and see past some of the games greater flaws, there is fun to be had.

The game is a technical marvel. One of the best looking games on the PS4 by a long shot. The little details help flesh out the world and bring the actors' performances to life. Glitches are few and far between. Players getting stuck to obstacles and other little things rarely happen. The soundtrack is a fantastic mix of original and licensed songs. The Decima engine has come a long way since its first title, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Death Stranding is honestly a hard game to review so I hope most of my thoughts on the game are clear. I think it’s a fantastic experiment when it comes to doing something new with video games. It can be boring at points but one thing that is never lost throughout the experience is the amazing story and how it is worked into what going on in the gameplay. If you’re on the fence about this game, I would wait until it’s on sale before picking it up. It’s hard to fully recommend this game, so you’ll have to come to your own conclusion on if you will like what is offered in Death Stranding. Whether you end up liking Death Stranding or not, it’s still one hell of a rollercoaster with a lot of thought and care put in to it.

    Pros:
    +Fantastic Story
    +Great Soundtrack
    +Top Notch Acting
    +Gameplay Centered On Community

    Cons
    -Very Slow Start
    -Some Frustrating Slow Parts

There is no wonder this game polarizes reviewers. Depending on which aspects you focus on, it is either an amazing experience, or a really disappointing one. Here are the things this game does great:

    - Atmosphere. Walking around in the world and a song comes on that perfectly expresses solitude. No other work/medium has ever hit this so well.
    - Graphics and geology. Really looks like running around in Iceland.
    - Slow paced gameplay can be rewarding if that's your thing.
    - A sense of community that caches you by surprise in a good way.
    - Spectacular visual moments and over all great acting. (See note on negatives)

    Here are the negatives:

    - The story seems like it is made from a word-association game. Strand, Porter, Heartman, Fragile, Higgs, Cliff, etc. They all play a part of the story, somehow tied to whatever proper noun they go by. Maybe if everything is to be interpreted as a metaphor, it could make sense. Still, it falls short, and falls pretty hard.
    - The visual moments are great, but again, it seems like they were put together for the sake of being a cool visual, than it actually making sense. It is enjoyable, the motion capture and acting is really top notch.

In conclusion, and perhaps a bit spoilery, so don't read on if you mind spoilers: Don't play this game for the story. First impression suggest great potential for profound depth. After completing the game, it's very underwhelming.

It has that classic Hideo Kojima feel to it, of having 80% of the whole game shrouded in mystery as you play it and only then when you reach the end do you piece together little by little what the whole story was about. It's a somewhat complex story with a lot of elements that will feel either unfamiliar or confusing at first, but unless you really invest into the game itself, you may end up knowing less or more than others. Death Stranding very much feels like a movie, and with that being said, I feel the game loses its surprise factor upon completion for the first time.

The game play is where things get tricky, as not everyone is going to be into it, and it's something you will need to invest into to truly enjoy it. Feeling repetitive, tedious, boring, and sometimes lacking, the game play itself really depends on your play style and pacing. Amazon delivery simulator memes aside, there are so many different ways to go from point A to B, and a lot of the enjoyment comes from your own self achievement of how you did it, how fast you did it, and the quality of how you did it. So you may end up liking the game play or hating it, but it doesn't accommodate for the haters at all because you are technically forced to do it to progress the story. Sometimes taking your time and going the long road is faster and way more satisfying than trying to brute force your way through the rough paths just to try and save a couple of minutes, it all comes down to you. Death Stranding also has a cool online system where players help each other out by building structures to create a better world. Even though players can't react with each other physically, you can feel a sense of community within where players are helping each other out to all reach a similar goal. You feel alone in the world but at the same time you aren't. Replay value is there if you genuinely enjoy the game play, but most people will have already accomplished everything that they felt needed to be done and then stay until the story ends. If you happen to invest into the game like I did, you'll find out that there is a lot of additional dialogue in the game that many will miss out simply by rushing through the game. A lot of your "what, who, when, why, and how" questions are more in depth in those email and interview logs, and it may be one of the reasons why you as a first timer might feel the story was too confusing, bad, or lazy.

Honestly though, you can't go wrong with playing this one time through as you have quality actors backing the game like Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Troy Baker, Lea Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, and much more. Not to mention very clean motion capturing and voicing that retains quality of portraying the characters emotions and authenticity. Sound track is one of the best things about Death Stranding and perfectly set as if watching a movie. Even if you don't plan to buy the game, I highly suggest watching a play through of it once, as Hideo Kojima really put a lot of effort into the story, characters, and dialogue. Death Stranding is nothing like any other game and it feels like it's improving the artistic medium as a whole for video games. It's not your standard "kill em all type of game" as Norman Reedus described it. You'll definitely be feeling all kinds of emotions from the start of the journey, till the end.

Game play: The main point is as everyone have already saw, the deliver of different types of cargo from point A to point B. This however is mixed with: environmental hazard, physical and realistic reactions to the terrain that no other AAA has and that apply to both Sam and his enemies. Stealth, gun play and a whole weaponry that goes from boleadora pistol, assault rifles, grenades until missile launchers. All of this you can use or build, together with all this you can use or build, along with shelters of different types, bridges, stairs, climbing anchors, different types of exoskeletons that help improve your performance when moving in different kinds of terrain, thermal patches, gas masks, cars, motorcycles, in short; that the game is giving you new options to overcome the new challenges that it proposes every hour or hour and a half. So to everyone out there saying that the game is all cinematic and no game play well, go and play it (also this is one of Kojima's game with less cinematics that, at least, I remember).

Finally, the game has multiple bosses (those that seemed too easy, I think a weak point in the game is the absence of a real challenge regarding the fights, at least in the normal difficulty).
All of the above is presented with a really compelling and original story, marvelous graphics and NO DLC. For all of this reasons I think Death Stranding is one of the best games of the year and one of the best I've played (and I played a lot). Few to no one creator try to sell such a risky proposal and that is something that all gamers should value.

There are moments in this game that truly took my breath away, such as the action based cinematic cutscenes, the incredibly realistic yet isolated world and structures, and the overall photorealistic visuals and unmatched sound design and voice acting. This only made it sting that much more when I realized the gameplay is truly the definition of tedious, dull, and truly uninspired. This game feels like it truly goes out of its way to frustrate and the player with baffling gameplay choices and an overall monotonous and unrewarding premise. This game is nowhere near a 10/10, but it’s also nowhere near a 1/10. There is serious, serious potential here, but it is squandered. I rarely felt positive emotions from this game, I didn’t feel like I was escaping to a universe I couldn’t wait to immerse myself in and find out what happens next. Instead, I couldn’t wait to escape the game. It was a chore. It truly is, carry this cargo to this location, then probably go back, and then do it again. Most games walking and traveling is a tedious chore, only done to get to the next action set piece or story beat. Here, walking and traveling IS the game. Carry as much cargo as you can, as quickly as possible to this location. Ok, let’s do this! Start jogging and you’ll soon fall over and damage your cargo. Get stuck in the rain, your equipment and cargo degrades quickly, so now you’re trying to deliver even faster, only to get blown down a hill by the wind or slip and fall from the wet rain. Then BB starts crying, and you literally have to stand there and rock your PS4 controller back and forth. Keep in mind your equipment and cargo is still being damaged from the rain. BT encounters were not exhilarating, just annoying and again, tedious. That’s the best way I can describe this game: tedious. Mind numbingly dull, monotonous, frustrating, baffling, WTF were they thinking. I’ve never been more disappointed in a game, never before have I seen such incredible and breathtaking potential only to have it squandered on a gameplay structure that focuses solely on inconveniencing the player. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Here is my review:

When you deliver your first package in a new region is when the gameplay is at its best as you explore an empty world and try to connect it. After that its gets repetitive: you can build structures and roads to make the backtracking easier, use other players structures to help yourself travel around, and craft equipment to be able to travel faster, carry more packages, or fight the enemies in the game. I wouldn't necessarily say that the gameplay is fun, it defiantly feels repetitive after a few hours, but it can drag the player in with how time-consuming it is. Fun? No. Addicting. Can be.

There are only a few enemies in the game. BT's, Mules, and Bosses. BT's are scary within the first hour of the game as you try to understand what they are and their methods, but by the middle of the game I literally drive by them on a motorcycle or kill them with grenades made from your own blood. I thought they were supposed to scare me, but when you have the ability to mow down every BT you can have your sights on, or ignore them completely as just they slow you down from delivering your next package they're more of a nuisance than an actual threat. Mules are the same though with the added threat of a void out if you don't burn their bodies if you decide to kill one of them. However, once you kill them they are gone forever. Bosses are fine, I love one of the final boss fights that deal with you fighting one of them by throwing packages at them (some nice self-awareness), and BT boss fights are fun at first but since you can run out of the area to avoid the fight, it makes it feel pointless.

The story is pretty average. The twists and turns are so obvious you will see them several hours ahead of their reveal or call them within first couple hours of the game. Even when the reveals come the game can't help but explain it to you a dozen times over through dialogue just so you get the point instead of letting you figuring it out yourself and letting you come to your own conclusions. The theme revolves around connections, and Kojima likes to use strands as a metaphor - though as I said before he will repeat this metaphor at least 20-30 times throughout the story just so you understand what he's trying to say.

Characters are mostly boring. You really only care for a few characters in the story, and even then they can be a bit annoying. Sam (Who you will only be calling Norman or Daryl) is the main focus of the story and is one of the best parts of the game - though even he has some flaws. When characters are talking there will be a moment of silence where you hope he will say something but he will just stand there like a fool. Fragile and BB are the only ones who you care about, and want to see their stories through till the end. As for the villains, Higgs and Cliff are your baddies: Cliff is the only one you really care about (although he can be annoying with how many boss battles you're going to have with him), and Higgs is all show no substance (though his actor may be the best in the entire game).

Dialogue in this game is painful to listen to as everyone talks formally and explains everything that they are saying and what is on their minds which is contrary to the normal person. The dialogue makes it hard to connect with the characters are they feel more like devices for the story instead of actual characters.

I hope Kojima recognizes the flaws with the game instead of claiming about how people don't understand it. Negating criticism doesn't make you a better developer. Taking those criticism and learning from them does.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game does not deserve more than six points. There was a lot of noise around this project, but in reality everything turned out differently.
Expect an exciting action from her is not worth it, although the story itself is pretty good. In general, the game cannot be called a masterpiece and that is why it has a small scale of points.
It is upsetting that something more was expected from this game, but everything turned out the other way around.
Boring locations in the game and gameplay just kill.

Death Stranding is travesty of a game, slow boring , and way to long. This is a love it or hate it kinda of game only thing i liked was the graphics. It gets a 5 out of 10 from me , its deff not for everyone and has no right being voted for game of the year. Stay away from DS

No game can make walking , running and climbing so interesting .Death stranding does it.
Main story is about 50 hours long .
The sound , graphics and the music which comes while walking long stretches of land is amazing
The surprising twist at the end is worth the wait considering how long it is.

I loved it, I do understand many people won't like this style of game but I found it very satisfying to play. If you think you'll like it don't be afraid to give it a try.

A lot of people caviat this game as not for everyone, and that's a bad way to look at anything. This is an utterly unique game and if you let it take you in, it's easily the most immersive experience you will have in a video game. At times the interface and menu's are difficult, but when you realize all their quirks, you come to realize the controls are exactly what they need to be.A lot of people caviat this game as not for everyone, and that's a bad way to look at anything. This is an utterly unique game and if you let it take you in, it's easily the most immersive experience you will have in a video game. At times the interface and menu's are difficult, but when you realize all their quirks, you come to realize the controls are exactly what they need to be. It's a complex and relaxing game most of the time, and it takes a lot as a player to work through, but all it's difficulties and challenges highlight the one thing this game does that no other ever has, and that is theme. The theme in this game is the connections between people, and every design quirk, plot point, and arduous mountain climb all work to emphasize that theme. It's a lonely journey, but the connections you make along the way will give you a sense that it was all worth it. This isn't a game that gratifies you, this is a journey you take that pays itself off immensely in the end. Easily the best crafted ending I've seen in a game.
The most important thing I look at a game is how it stays with you, and will I play it again. I equate it most with another great narrative game whos gameplay was not enjoyable, "The Last of Us" but the difference is, the payoff in this is much more profound. This is a game that you won't ever forget, and eventually will draw you in again. In the Last of us, after the damn super zombies get shivved for the last time, I never wanted to play it again. I remember the Giraffe and the end, but nothing about the play really drew me in for a 2nd run. It's impact is totally on a first go round. This one will compel me to play again long into the future.
Yes, it can be a grind, like almost every game these days, whether it's collecting pointless garbage in any grand theft auto or any monotonous deathmatches in any first person shooter you play online. The difference is the rewards for the grind are truly there in game. These continuous missions build the relationship with each person you meet, and the rewards for maximizing that all make the journey easier. Every improvement is a blessing that you earn with hard work, and by the end you turn it into a fun Disney ride for every travel. But you have to earn it through work and with the connections you build in the game, and with the players whom leave stuff to help you out.
This isn't a game that gratifies you, its a profound amount of work for quite the compelling reward. It's a plot of **** nonsense, that makes total sense and ties together perfectly because every aspect follows one cohesive theme. This is a game for everyone, it's value comes through work, through challenges, and there is utterly nothing else like it nor will there ever be. Most negative critiques I read have complaints that show me the people didn't actually play it, just either watched someone else play it or quit because it doesn't have enough blinking lights and bright colors to satisfy the animal brain.
So go into it with an open mindset, put the weight of the world on your impossibly strong back, and take a journey that will bring you somewhere you will never experience again, and will certainly never forget.

A masterpiece in every way. Unlike 99% of games made today that are recycled from one another. However, I’m not sure how long it takes to complete the story (maybe 50 hours?), so you need to have a lot of patience and time for the payoff.

Expand

Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
