    The game is boring, it is a walking simulator, simplistic missions, the game comes down to graphics only, the character has to mix with the various 'packages' he has to deliver, I don't understand this deification of Kojima, dull game without challenges, boring, full of cutscenes and CG ...     Lost my money with this Walk Simulator. Is a big monotony, waste of time, Fedex Simulator.

    Nothing to do, work like a USPS employee, 0% adventure. If you want to walk miles and miles, you should do it in real life, don't waste your time. Only 1 point for the nice try with graphics.

    Creating a “masterpiece" - Let’s say you’re a game developer that’s really frustrated, really angry, disappointed of the whole gaming industry. You’re fed up with the greedy publishers, the big business politics, the spoiled ungrateful gamers, the stuck up gaming media. You want to stick it to the man, you want to stick it to the whole damn gaming world. How would you do it? How would a full triple-A “sticking it”-game, look like?
    Let’s see now… It would have to be boring, if there is something gamers hate it is boring game-play, it has to be too long, over stay any welcome, I mean like 50-60 hours long, filled with repetitive tasks, without variation. The hero, he has to be right out bland, a nobody, doing tedious grunt work, like a garbage man, or… a postman? Yes, that sounds like watching paint dry! A postman delivering parcels, walking for hours and hours to get from A to B, to C to f-n Z! Even the side-missions should be the same damn thing! Yes, that’s great! And when I say walking, I mean walking for half an hour of game-play to deliver ONE package, in a terrain that’s monotonous as hell, tripping over yourself. It must be a chore. The world must be stony, hilly, slippery, wet. And let’s make this guy highly unstable, and since he always carries too much, he will stumble over every rock and cranny. And if he falls to many times (and we make damn sure that he will) the cargo will be destroyed! LOL… No leveling up for him! Sound good, and after like ten hours of this walking, we give him some sort of vehicle, a motorbike, and he’s like, “Yes, finally I can get somewhere”, but not so fast, because, of course, the vehicle will be even more frustrating, it will get stuck, it is clearly not built for this, it will easily overturn destroying the cargo, and when and if the player get the bike going at some speed, we throw in the most generic mud-slime-enemy to F**K it up, to the point where the player actually will consider leaving the bike and rather be walking … Rad! Talking about the enemies, they will have to be boring as well, and too easy to beat, gamers hate that, even the bosses should be bland as H***, repetitive fights, not too much variation, abstract, like the smoke-monster on Lost or something . Hm, I like were this is going! So now we have the worst possible game-play, a boring postman as the hero, a few bland side characters with generic childish names, like, Stone-man, Black tar-man? But… what’s the setup, the story?
    …How about this, a dystopian empty future where this guy, this postman, saves America by delivering mail from cost to cost? You know that kind of naïve patriotism only a foreigner can make up… And then we throw in some quirky symbolic stuff, like other dimensions and stuff, and when we lured the sponsors and the financing in, we’ll make a few thought provoking clips to fire up the gamers, litter cryptic messages on twitter, hire big stars to kick start the hype. The Solid Snake-fan boys will eat that **** it up! They will eat it up and when the game is released they will gladly bend backwards defending the bore by calling it “immersing”, the mumbo-jumbo story by calling it “great art” and the 60 hours of repetition by calling it “challenging”! They will live in this denial for years to come! I will win prices and fame, because no one dares to say - “But the emperor, he is naked!” And just too really write it on the nose, we will make it really obvious, we will force them to weaponize their own p**, s** and blood fighting those generic bosses. We will have them p** and s** on cue, and every time they take a closer look at their hero, he will break the 4th wall, stick his tongue out and give them the finger! And while all this is going on… I will laugh my ass off!

    From the very beginning of the game, all the characters explains things to Sam like he was born yesterday into that world. It doesn't make any sense, but was the only way to explain all the bizarre things of the game to the player. Them continuing explaining things throughout the game, but they’re just pointing out the obvious and not adding anything valuable to the game. Even the plot itself is absolutely tenous, because it’s full of plot holes and inconsistencies.

    Many situations are childish and serious moments [especially dialogues] are such cringe-worthly bad written that I facepalmed myself most of the time. I’m pretty sure it’s nothing to do with the bad English translating, but rather purposely written by master-writer-wannabe-movie-maker Kojima himself.
    Can you imagine there are enemies who have got high/crazy from the 'likes' they got from online :D really; enemies high of Facebook likes. I kinda understand the poorly made metaphora behind it of nowdays people living with the 'likes' and 'shares', but adding it to such context is just… horrible.

    Funny, when watching videos or reading online of fan theories made before launch were those that interested me most. All the fan theories and ideas were MUCH, much more interesting, imaginative and well-thought than anything the game gave us. If the game would’ve been even close of theories, playing the game would’ve been better. Kojima should hire some of those fans!!
    I wonder what he have thought when reading fan theories, maybe realizing how washy his creation was going to be compared to them.
    The writing is actually SO BAD, that even the characters' names are ridiculous and unimaginative that they feel like quickly scraped concept ideas (FRAGILE, MAMA, DEADMAN, DIE-HARDMAN, HEARTMAN, BB, BEACHED THINGS), trying to be something spiritually meaningful, but only what they do is spoiling the player by giving up their true agenda.

    The character that I hate the most is Sam himself (SAM PORTER BRIDGES) *ugh—sigh, pun intented*, Norman's acting job is very much like in The Walking Dead; one dimensional without any facial expressions, grunting most of the time and having no strong personality. This suites his role in TWD. Maybe the reason Kojima wanted him was the fact he liked Norman in the series, but poorly understood copying the exact same role (including the motorcycle, hairstyle and overall appearance) to DS simply doesn’t work. He seemingly wanted to use Norman’s fame and flair, rather than bothering to write him a good new role. Feels as they're Kojima’s personally favourite Hollywood actors, rather than perfectly fitting into the game. This gives another stamp on Kojima’s forehead that he is not very good upcoming film maker, when he doesn’t understand how writing a role and finding a perfect actor for it works. I’m pretty sure some non-famous never-heard new actors would’ve made much better job and that actually would’ve give DS more personal look.

    Gameplay-wise the game is poor and lacking, as well. All the balancing things with carrying the stuff was just dull and getting on my nerves rather quickly. Carrying packages from place to place, sneaking past those BTs and if they got me, I ended up to some underworld and I had to kill a boss to get myself back—now thinking of—to the actual hell of continuing the torture of endless walking simulation. All the bosses in the game were a way too easy, even in the maximum difficultiness (HARD).
    It’s so exasperating that the game has some interesting and peculiar aspects, but have bad execution. I can say there were good ideas/thoughts but being 'game-changing title in video game industry' it's not.

    The good things about DS is how beautiful it is visually. Sadly, most of the areas are vast and empty.

    The reason of over-marketing and using famous actors, is perhaps to cover all the lacking things. Kojima propably knew this game is trash and wanted to market it like No Man’s Sky with lying to the audience. Well, if DS follows the same route, then in 2 years it propably have actual good content in it. But, if you must "experience" this garbage, then just watch walkthrough videos on Youtube.

    It became very clear all those good reviews were bought from big outlets, truly sad and desperate move from Sony/Kojima. If he so badly wants to 'connect the world' and 'people stay connected' [as he keeps obsessively repeating over and over again in his social media] then maybe he should start to walk across the globe with a 'strand in his hands' and try to 'connect people' (again, whatever that even means? [thinking of Human Centipede]) and see how much fun is that to do.

    Like Kojima said, his studio is going to do movies from now on… well, maybe that is the best move since if the games are this bad from him he should quit being game developer. At least he got good starting money for his future movies :) good luck with that.

    The only redeeming quality of this game is the visuals. It is stunning, perhaps the best looking game of this generation. But that doesn’t save it from the slow, repetitive and boring gameplay that had me hoping, for the first time ever, that this would be a really, really short game, so I didn’t have to give up before completing it, but I just had to.     Kojima delivered great games like Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders. This game, however, is disappointing with poor gameplay, horrendous voice acting, and a cringe worthy story line. I expected more from the developer that gave us Metal Gear Solid. The game feels as if it was cheaply thrown together. As a hardcore, pro gamer, this game is simply not fun.

Hideo Kojima wants you to watch endless videos of self-important trash and during tens of hours of gameplay doing just menial job - dragging the packages in Amazon like delivery business over the wasteland. To prolong the chore, he throws in as many obnoxiousThe story is a convoluted mess as if eight year old aspiring author wrote it, the gameplay extremely repetitive and tedious. Hideo Kojima wants you to watch endless videos of self-important trash and during tens of hours of gameplay doing just menial job - dragging the packages in Amazon like delivery business over the wasteland. To prolong the chore, he throws in as many obnoxious obstacles as possible like balancing with the trigger buttons during walking. For all that he pats you on the back for "connecting America" (that looks like Island) again and shows you several credits with his name.     dearth stranding es en el mejor un mal intento de ser único, en el peor es un muy mal juego de acción, mas allá de lo que el juego pretenda, en la practica no hace bien ninguna el combate es insulso y sin sentido, no logra crear un sentido de peligro, la historia es contada horriblemente, tiene demasiadas cinemáticas, la misión de protagonista carece de enfoque, la mayoría de las cosasdearth stranding es en el mejor un mal intento de ser único, en el peor es un muy mal juego de acción, mas allá de lo que el juego pretenda, en la practica no hace bien ninguna el combate es insulso y sin sentido, no logra crear un sentido de peligro, la historia es contada horriblemente, tiene demasiadas cinemáticas, la misión de protagonista carece de enfoque, la mayoría de las cosas parecen alguna clase de broma lo que dificulta tomarse en serio la historia de fondo, la misiones de entrega están hechas para que sean lo mas tediosas posible, los aditamentos que se te proporcionan ninguno son necesarios,en fin tiene muchos puntos flacos pero el mas grande es que las diversas mecánicas no terminan de funcionar bien juntas, no hay sinergia.     Es un juego bastante mal ejecutado , su gameplay es bastante monótono y aburrido siempre cargando paquetes de un lado a otro , no se logra empatizar con absolutamente ningún personaje , las mecánicas totalmente desperdiciadas ya que los combates se pueden evitar en un 99 % de las veces , si bien logra conectar con las personas indirectamente pero no es original o innovadora como se decía ,Es un juego bastante mal ejecutado , su gameplay es bastante monótono y aburrido siempre cargando paquetes de un lado a otro , no se logra empatizar con absolutamente ningún personaje , las mecánicas totalmente desperdiciadas ya que los combates se pueden evitar en un 99 % de las veces , si bien logra conectar con las personas indirectamente pero no es original o innovadora como se decía , lo único bueno es el apartado gráfico y su banda sonora que más que todo parece un spotify del creador del juego , juego que presumía ser bastante innovador y solo se queda con esa idea.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
