    My experiencie make me view this game as a pshysics-based hiking simulator with good concepts but bad integration of them into the game such as a boring/lifeless open-world with an IA Pretty bad and dumb of the few mobs that you are gonna cross (just throw them some blood granades and thats it) the backtracking lacks too. Even so it could had been an interesting experience to play if it wasn't buried by a pretencious and overly convoluted story that tryes so hard but fails so it gets buried in more stuff like a budget of 100M invested in an odissey of cutscenes,indie bands and monster energy drinks to make her look more appealing. But if the basic concepts and plot are superflous that 100M in cutscenes,ost and high quality animations it make it just worse and less appealing.
    This last days some people say that a game doesnt have to be fun to be good. I kinda agree,sometimes you are not playing a game and having "fun" but yet feeling enwrapped by another kind of feelings and emotions strong enough to keep you playing. So to finish this review i'll say that a good game has to be captivating to be good and sadly death stranding it wasnt captivating for me it was the opposite.

    Mailman meets Climbing Mount Everest Simulator. Fun, yet slow and tedious sometimes. Worth playing just for the experience, but very awkward moments in the story sometimes.

    Death stranding could have been a much better game, if not for the monotonous gameplay. The fact that the game actually expects you to slowly walk everywhere with cargo stacked sky high on your back is ridiculous, and disrespectful to your time as a player. I used vehicles anytime the game let me, and its honestly the only reason I was able to finish it. You are constantly getting stuck on everything since the entire world is covered by rocks that you should be able to drive over, but cant. I found myself tiring of the gameplay quickly and only did the main missions, using vehicles to complete them as easily as possible, which worked. There is far too much useless dialogue and small cutscenes, and after a few hours I was skipping everything that was not a main cutscene. The story and main cutscenes are fun, but its pretty dumb overall, and some parts of the game left my mouth agape as I tried to comprehend the stupidity of what I was watching. There are good parts of the story I actually liked, but the game takes far too long actually getting to the good stuff, and ends up info dumping you in cutscenes toward the end. Combat in the game is nothing special and you have pretty much no reason to even waste your time with it. The bosses are all bullet sponges with nothing interesting changing up the fight, I got tired of them and turned the difficulty down to kill them quickly. I thought the boss designs were pretty cool though. I feel as though this game failed to deliver(no pun intended) whatever experience or message it was trying to convey. I just found myself trying to blast through the game in the quickest way possible, ignoring any side activities because I was too annoyed and didnt really care. I give it a 6/10. A game that could have been much more fun, and a story that feels totally up its own butt at times. If the game goes on sale for cheap, grab it as its a somewhat unique experience, but not what I would call a good one.… Expand

    Such a brilliant game, and a lot to unpack overtime. It won’t come together story wise until the latter half of the title but it’s worth it. The gameplay evolves as you progress and the variations in gameplay from combat to traversal are fantastic. Recommend playing on hard. Would probably give it a ten, but there are quite a few janky animations that cost me perfect deliveries. FantasticSuch a brilliant game, and a lot to unpack overtime.     1. Игра долго раскачивается, погружает вас в мир игры, показывает механики, думаю многих это может достать. 2. Такое ощущение что игру делали по ходу набора людей в новую студию, все о той же медленной раскачке. 3. Реально был период когда не понимаешь зачем ты в это играешь, следующая доставка и    Прошёл игру сегодня. Впечатление после прохождения очень положительное.

    4. Потом пройдя где то 60% худо бедно на изучении игры и паре хороших кат сцен разрабов видать торкнуло, ну или штат нормально пополнился и пошло самое что ни на есть мяско, прям как положено, с привязанностью к персонажам, раскрытием сюжета, драматическими моментами и так далее.
    5. Именно за эти 40% ставлю 10-ку, правда там ещё крутая механика игры, физика ну и вот это все НО за атмосферу и итоговое раскрытие сюжета эта игра стоит покупки.
    6. Тем кому не понравилось как по мне просто не въехали или не хотели въезжать ожидаю очередную военную драму от Кодзимы...    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Keep on keeping on! I really enjoyed my time playing the game. The story was very deep and engaging within an extravagant dystopia post apocalyptic setting. Imagine watching a movie and wondering what happens between scenes for the characters, this game “bridges” those moments with a nice dose of reality. Is there a lot of walking around, yeah there is until you are capable of building your own vehicles and then using zip lines. I dont see replay value other than to look for easter eggs but you don’t have to start a new game for that. I believe i missed out on some missions because I didn’t keep up with my mail until later. I would replay just for those as it seems like they have to be completed at specific times and not at the endgame open play.

    I will admit this may take a particular gaming palate for someone to fully appreciate this work of art. Because that is what Kojima has created here.    … Expand

    Is a very monotonous game, it has great music and world detail, but no more. The story is compelling but not enough to compensate for the immense boredom.

    Obviously not for everyone but personally found this game to be quite a masterpiece. I couldn’t put it down until I beat it and even after I’m jumping back in from time to time. The story was just wonderful and moved me the way I was moved by games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn. The world is just so unique and mysterious. A great entry point for me as this is my firstObviously not for everyone but personally found this game to be quite a masterpiece. I couldn’t put it down until I beat it and even after I’m jumping back in from time to time. The story was just wonderful and moved me the way I was moved by games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn. The world is just so unique and mysterious. A great entry point for me as this is my first Hideo Kojima game. Not everyone will like this sort of game, but it’s an experience you really can’t find anywhere else.… Expand

    This is by far one of the most remarkable games ever created. The gameplay loop is very simple and some what repetitive but the feel of it is truly unique. It isnt for everyone... that's for sure. I can see that... like if I was to look at a famous painting. I'd just see.... a painting. But someone who is a fan of art and has followed artists for a while.. start to pick up on eachThis is by far one of the most remarkable games ever created. For me.... that is Death Stranding. Since 2016 I have watched every trailer over and over. I've watched you tubers break down those trailers. The community theorize over and over up until release day. If you watched a film based on a book and loved it... youd probably want to buy the book to fully be immersed in the narrative. The trailers and theories for me are the film. The Game is the book. I can only hope for a VOL. 2. If you are blind to the game... have no idea about any of it.... then you'll probably most likely not fully enjoy it the way I have. It can take about 5-6 hours of a linear approach to really get going. After that.... The world will be yours to explore, alone, but connected. Maybe even to me. :)… Expand

    Porting brings a peace that is not found in most games. The story is interesting, though there were times when it was over simplified and others when things were poorly explained. Overall it was an enjoyable and refreshing gaming experience! Zip lining is the most fun I've had in a game in a while!

    I loved the game, though first couple chapters are bit slow and might turn some people away. It’s a great story when it kicks into high gear.

    Kojima Productions have created a masterpiece. The story is excellent, the characters are fleshed out, the gameplay is great, the world is fully realised, and foreshadowing is everywhere.

    This was one of the most unique, refreshing, and memorable experiences I've ever had, both with the game play and the story. I've completed the game twice now on two different accounts, squeezing as much content out of the game as I could. And I'm still addicted to it. I could go for a third playthrough. Kojima Productions knocked it out of the park. The story for this game really gets u thinking about both the pro's and con's of connecting, disconnecting and reconnecting within society.     I certainly enjoyed this game overall. I love the environment, the game mechanics, the music, the online structure sharing. The game felt challenging and rewarding in an interesting way, getting to your destination was a challenge in itself and felt relieving to see your destination in the distance to a nice song by Low Roar.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. [Issue#299]

    This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
