    Ok, if you want to play another game like every other please don’t buy it, Death Stranding it’s a different experience, very slow and repeating in the beginning but hours after hours the world, the gameplay, the characters and the story will explode! Death stranding have a really great great story, with great meaning and touching moment, and great actor!     I have a high tolerance for giving games a chance but I couldn't even bring myself to finish this game. Literally all you do is deliver packages. Why the hell do I want to do that in a video game. Boring as all hell.

    Death Stranding has a freaking amazing original story from Hideo Kojima with best soundtrack and memoriable characters . Lore is amazing, graphics is one of the best, but gameplay is so long, repetetive sometimes (not necessarily for everyone) a lot of walking with discovery of the environment, social connection with other players is amazing for example you can see bridges, roads, laddersDeath Stranding has a freaking amazing original story from Hideo Kojima with best soundtrack and memoriable characters .     Теперь одна из любимых игр. Жаль послушал некоторых и проходил только сюжет, краем задевал побочки. Игра оказалась совсем не нудная, но более менее движуха начинается с 3 главы. Так что немного не хватило даже мне. Планировать свои путешествия очень даже интересно. Сто раз подумаешь, что взять с собой, на чем ехать и где лазить.

    I've read comics with more gameplay that this game. Slow, empty and hours and hours without anything to do...

    But, hey, it's Kojima's new game. 10/10

    Death Stranding is a videogame that transcends what a videogame is usually intended to be. I started playing this being very skeptical about it, but I came out of this experience charmed by both the surprisingly satisfying and odd gameplay and the fascinating world and story that Kojima and his team put together.     I had my reservations with the game before playing it, but having this experience with each new play, I not only got into history more, but also wanted to be able to help other people who play it really, a unique experience that, despite endless deliveries, fascinates in every way

    Not a terrible game, It has some good points but its just so boring, i got about halfway through and decided to drop it , at the start the story was intriguing enough to keep me invested but the further I got the constant exposition dumps and unintersting characters forced me to give the rest a skip, I have no intentions of revisiting this

    This game is very controversial. Some mechanics and parts of story are very strange, but it changed me. Hideo is a crazy genius. I'm happy to see guys like Hideo or Naughty Dog creating great stories, not games. I like games like Death Stranding, it makes you think, unlike assassin's creed, call of duty, or spiderman. It's not a game for everyone, it's a game for the elite.

    Great game, sometimes the gameplay can be a but repetitive, but is still enjoyable.
    The story and lore is absolutely amazing, by playing the game you can tell that is done by people who care about it and believed in the project.
    Still not perfect of course, still got some technical issues, but is still a great start for Kojima Production.
    Would totally recommend.

    Ok jokes aside, I would totally expect a lot of people not to like this game due to its slow pace and not-too-exciting gameplay, and because it's such a unique game it was always bound do create some controversy.

    Here's the deal, imo the story, acting and world building are the real stars of the game. How did Kojima come up with this world, story, art and design I have no idea.
    The gameplay is actually very polished and does what it tries to do perfectly. The problem is that what it's trying to do is something that no crazy game developer has ever dared to try before, that is essentially a walking simulator. Now that term is too simplistic, and I'm not using it in a negative way, but traversing environments and obstacles to go from point A to point B is what 90% the gameplay is about. I personally didn't hate it, and I found it fascinating, but yes, it was a dull experience at times. After all, it's tough to create excitement without combat, survival thrill or competitiveness being key parts of a game. Still though, if you're like me and you find yourself completely captivated by Death Stranding's world and its mysteries, you will always have the motivation to keep going through adversities to eventually reach your destination. After all, it's not supposed to be easy or fun for a post apocalyptic delivery guy to get the job done, and this game manages to put the player's in it's protagonist shoes like few others.
    This struggle and loneliness you feel throughout the game is what gives meaning and beauty to the online interactive system where players can help each other without ever meeting in person. When you find a tool or other kind of boost left over by another delivery guy, that's when you're reminded that you're not alone and that humans can pull though when they stick together, which is one of, if not the main moral lesson of the game. This is only one of many examples of what makes Death Stranding one of the most innovative, creative, passionate games ever made.    … Expand

    Bizarre story that I didnt really understand but thoroughly enjoyed. A very different game that is enjoyable but not for everyone. Some moments of tedium are worth forcing through to get to the good stuff towards the end.

Instead of killing, you're surviving and connecting humanity against the odds. DS requires patience and isn't going to be for everyone, but it's one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.A unique game with a bizarre but touching story.     First of all this was mine first Kojima game i completed, and i loved the story, this game is not a walking simulator like people claim there is more to it, like Resource management, so i am giving this title a 8.0 of 10.

    Death Stranding is a very atmosphere/story focused game and a true hybrid within the gaming world. It delivers a unique experience that can only best be experienced if you have no real expectations going in.
    I like to chill with games and am open to    7/10, but definitely not for all. After giving it some time to fully reflect on what I experienced I will say that I did enjoy this game.
    Death Stranding is a very atmosphere/story focused game and a true hybrid within the gaming world. It delivers a unique experience that can only best be experienced if you have no real expectations going in.
    I like to chill with games and am open to many different genres so I was able to embrace this game and enjoy the virtual hike and journey within its world.

    I think the problem with the way this game has been recieved is mostly by people expecting some kind of action game and instead getting a slow burn simulation game. This is no different from an FPS fan finding puzzle games boring and vice versa.

    The game isnt perfect by any means, mostly hurt by being overly long and ultimately too boring. Improved combat would go far in imporving the excitement.

    Overall if you are looking for a chill game with a strong atmosphere and decent story then the chances are you will like this.    … Expand

    an AMAZING once in a lifetime game. will surely be remembered as a defining game of the ps4 era. a beautiful open world chalk full of things to explore and mules and terrorists to peacefully subdue. Mads and Troy do an excellent job in their roles. possibly the greatest story ever told in gaming. and of course BB is bestest baby.

    Great story, immersive world, wonderful characters, BUT the gameplay is pretty bad. With the repetitiveness of just delivering packages, you would get bored pretty fast and the lack of combat just makes it worst. Often it best that you just run away from the thieves the fact killing them plants bb's.

    Basically it's a walking simulator with a big ass world repeating **** 24/7

    A truly meaningful experience combined with a compelling soundtrack that moved me to seek an understanding of life I didn't realize was in front of me. This game has impacted me in ways I do not yet understand.
    Years from now, this game will still hold a place in my mind, my heart, and in the time spent bridging the world together, one delivery at a time.

    This is obviously one of the most divisive games in recent memory. I’ve seen some say it’s an astounding achievement and others say it’s downright terrible. I fall somewhere in the middle. It’s very pretty to look at and the story is somewhat interesting. The performances are all very well done too. But, that’s where the good things stop. Многие,наверно, сочли бы это за минус, но для меня это плюс, ведь во время прохождения ты можешь анализировать абсолютно всю ситуацию и представлять как бы ТЫ сделал на месте Сэма. К сожалению многие игры сейчас просто ставят тебя перед "Смотри, это-хорошо, а это-плохо. Убивай плохое" Но эта же игра расставляет всё по полочкам, и ты можешь всё как и понять, так и не понять и обидеться на игру. Например я в своё время после прохождения на 100% гуглил какие-то непонятные аспекты сюжета, но как по мне это лишь добавляет шарма игре.… Expand

    The story is bizarre and it explains little at first but still makes no sense even when you do understand it a bit more. The whole thing feels like an incredibly boring take on a metal gear solid. I just find it so very very boring indeed and the story so weird that it holds little interest to me after 15 hours or so trying to like it.

    Death Stranding tem um começo bem lento, mas depois do capítulo 3, o jogo começa a se desenrolar bem mais rápido e faz você se envolver bem mais.

    Tem uma jogabilidade muito boa, com diversos elementos realistas, como a questão do peso ou de caminhar sem botas, que machuca o pé. Bem divertido. Poderia somente ter mais confrontos com EPs. Tem uma trilha sonora impecável, é muito gostoso    Death Stranding tem um começo bem lento, mas depois do capítulo 3, o jogo começa a se desenrolar bem mais rápido e faz você se envolver bem mais.

    Tem uma trilha sonora impecável, é muito gostoso fazer uma jornada escutando a trilha do jogo.

    A história é perfeita, acredito que pra mim, a melhor da geração. Quando você entende todo o enredo, o jogo se torna ainda mais incrível. É tão bem fechada que não consigo imaginar uma sequência, já que não tem mais nada pra contar.

Actually, for the first 10 hours, my rating would be 5 at most.. Thanks to quarantine I just beat this game after 62 hours and I guarantee that the last 15 hours will be one of the most original (and perhaps best) video game experiences you willI understand and agree with most of the negative comments here.     Love this game! It has a slow beginning, but once it picks up your hooked! You need to give it about 10 hours and then you can see why it's so addictive, only thing I dislike is how fast enemies respawn.

Atmosphere drops you inside the world you're playing and you feel that fear when these "Things" appear around! You are teleported into brand new post apocalypse world which you haven't seen ever. You collect the story of the world piece by piece and you feel for every character in this game for they all are alive!
    Game contains so many easter eggs that make it even more interesting and beautiful. There is huge amount of secrets and side mission are also impressive. Finishing side missions never was so enjoyable and easy. Also the game was never so rewarding.

    Bought this game day one and dropped it after chapter 1. Picked it up this year and gave it another chance, now I am addicted. This game is not for everyone but is definitely for me. I should've trusted Hideo more before I dropped the game. Cheers to Hideo!

    For everything I liked about the game there was something I hated it even more. There's a fun gameplay loop and interesting progression system and it's also a pretty good looking game. It's interesting to explore and open up new areas and build roads and stuff like that. Would probably give the game at 5 but the fact that Metacritic stepped in and deleted thousands of negative reviews on taking two points off. Because this game is not a 7 out of 10 or 8/10 this is a very controversial game that very few people will enjoy and they should be informed of that.… Expand

The asynchronous multiplayer is perfect for people like me are all about single player games. It adds a nice touch to the world, and it's 98% helpful. Kojima found a way to basically take the rly helpful parts of Dark Souls asynchronous multiplayer, and made it better and without the potential side effect of dealing with mean people.     Que quereis que os diga, a mí me pareció un juego sobresaliente. Aún con todos estos defectos, el juego transmite una sensación de soledad y tristeza magistralmente como nunca había sentido en ningún videojuego. Además, el factor de que el mundo sea tan hóstil y de que todo se pueda ir al garete en cualquier momento (normal, el mundo se ha ido a la mi**da y la lluvia te puede matar!), hace que este sea un juego de sensaciones. Desglosemos, que hay miga:

    - Historia, empieza lenta, pero luego a mí me atrapó. Está muy por encima de la media de películas/series de temática "mundo postapocalíptico", y tiene unos giros y unas idas de pinzas dignas del mismísimo Nolan. El reparto es muy acertado también.

    - Gráficos tocando el techo de esta generación. No veáis como se ponía mi ps4 al correr el juego... Parecía que tenía el microondas en el salón. Escenografía bonita, y al contrario de lo que puede parecer al principio, por tratarse de páramos desolados donde sólo hay rocas y rios, no es para nada monótono. Se siente bastante vivo.

    - Banda sonora de 10 y excelentemente escogida (Tardaré en olvidar el momento en el que estás aún asumiendo toda la historia y el maestro Kojima te calza "Death Stranding" de los Chvrches. Balazo al corazón)

    - El gameplay, SÚPER PLANO, pero asombrosamente adictivo! Es simple, no deja de ser un walking simulator con 4 mecánicas extras, pero joder, el aspecto de construir estructuras de manera conjunta con otros jugadores es un acierto mayúsculo. Cuesta parar de jugar, porque siempre hay un puente que terminar, una carretera que construir o una tirolina que levantar (Dios bendiga a las tirolinas)

    Y creo que no me dejo nada. Lo recomiendo? Sí, pero sólo si lo vas a jugar con la mente abierta. Para lo bueno y para lo malo, este juego no se parece a nada de lo que hayas jugado antes, te lo aseguro.
    Simplemente como resumen, para mí, este juego me ha impactado/marcado tanto como en su día lo hizo Half-Life cuando lo jugué por primera vez. Son juegos muy diferentes, pero con sensaciones muy similares (salvando las distancias técnicas en el tiempo, eso sí).

    All those COD & Fortnite Players are funny, those kind of games aren't for you guys. Sorry.

    Edit: After finishing this game, watching some youtube videos in which you can see how many flaws the story has, it isn't that good to me anymore but still an amazing game, because it is unique. Not a 10, but 8-9.

If you can make it to the second area and continue for a bit, you'll get hooked, and greatly rewarded with an emotionally provoking story that relates to our world situation in 2020. Once you have adjusted to the mechanics and have some of the better tools in your possession, it becomes very fun, and the story is just mysterious enough to keep you going. The mechanics are something I haven't seen in any other game, and I feel that the risks attempted in this game need to be applauded for stepping outside the norm. The game is beautiful, but it could be much better if played on PC. There are a few tools I never really found a use for.

    After finishing the game it seems there is probably 20-30 more hours of content to complete, which also reveals more details for some of the main characters. I'd recommend at least getting a used copy and give it a chance. You need to have some patience with this title. It is not for someone that's used to Fortnite/Call of Duty. Death Stranding is not only my GOTY but I feel like it may go down as one of my favorite games of all time. I don't feel the need to write much more because I feel like I'll remember my experience with this game for a very long time.

You start building in ways that makes you think "where would I place this such that it benefits people making this particular route?", you start seeing the game world in a different way "there's a gap there in the network, where players taking that route would not have a rest stop/zipline" and you go there and start making it.

    This game is amazing in so many ways, with lots of creative ideas and a great story. but i found that playing it became a chore and i didn't end up finishing it. I think it could do with being shorter, to be honest. But its a unique game and well worth playing.

For first you understand nothing, but then you get more involved and this world seems to you so real... I really love this game, playing on 5 chapter and even don't know how it will end.     one of the best games that ever has been made its so amazing it has amazing graphics great acting great soundtrack and great story a lot of peopel didnt like the game and i understand why people dont like it but man this game is for me

    I can see why a lot of people don`t like the game. It is not a fast-paced game full of action. It`s a planning game. You`re going on a trip, what do you need to bring, will you take the long walk or try to climb the mountain? I`ve enjoyed it, I mean, I`m not gonna play it again, but I didn`t find it hard to complete the game. The secondary quests are not very interesting in general. ButI can see why a lot of people don`t like the game. It is not a fast-paced game full of action. It`s a planning game. It is a great world, complex, brilliant, with a hell of a story. Kojima is playing with words in this game and it is amazing.

    The story is a real 10 on 10, the game itself is more like a 6-7.
    I think everybody should try it. It`s a mature game, where keeping your mind busy and thinking is the real goal. I found peace playing this game.    … Expand

    Kojima does it once again.

    Death Stranding is... gorgeous. Death Stranding is brave. Death Stranding is an ambitious composition in an era dominated by generic products, produced simply to satisfy and nothing more. Death Stranding on the other hand feels like the grandiose expression of Kojima's culminated experience. It combined beautiful landscapes, nuanced characters, a bold story    Kojima does it once again.

Death Stranding on the other hand feels like the grandiose expression of Kojima's culminated experience. It combined beautiful landscapes, nuanced characters, a bold story and an incredible performance by this very famous cast. What it lacks in conventionality it makes up for: with originality.     The graphic, story, acting, details and.... are perfect
    but the game play will be boring after a few hours! just carrying different cargos from one place to another.
    it's a different game! You'll love it or hate it. It's worth playing at least once.

    I went in totally bling, aware there was a controversy surrounding but unaware of the details.
    More than anything, Death Stranding is a unique experience in the age of copy-and-pastes, remasters and remakes. It was a great "postal service" game with a very intriguing story that kept me hooked until the very end.

    There are many areas of the game that could have and should have been patched, but weren't: Physics of cars (it is awful), menu navigation and acessibility. Lack of "Load game" in the death animation (you need to die, ressurrect, wait multiple loding screens, and only then you can click to load the save).
    Despite these flaws, the actual meat of the game, which is delivering and retrieving packages, planning your route, which items to take, is actually quite enjoyable. Once I get the platinum, I will probably never play it again, though.
    Overall, I give an 8 out 10, because despite the many flaws and lack of replayability value, the game is beautiful, well crafted and unique, and we need more of such games.    … Expand

    The most beautiful game on PS4 so far. The soundtrack made by Low Roar mostly settling perfectly in the worlds lore. Story is well written and making you think about it long after you finish the game.
    Although the fighting system is plain and dull, there could be better handcuffs system and reading the stories of preppers are quite boring the better thing was the caseate tapes in MGSV.    The most beautiful game on PS4 so far. The soundtrack made by Low Roar mostly settling perfectly in the worlds lore. Story is well written and making you think about it long after you finish the game.

    Напишу обзор на русском потому что, внимание, русского языка нет на диске! Да, вот с этого "презабавного" факта пожалуй и начну обзор. Игра имеет русскую озвучку, но на диске её нет! Оказывается диски - все разные. Т.е. мало купить игру, нужно смотреть циферки на диске и знать все эти коды чтобы понимать есть ли озвучка или нет. Это что за каменный век вообще?     Дальше. Это не игра, а какая то фигня, простите за мой французский. Вообще я люблю криповые игры, и начало в принципе заманчивое, но поиграв два часа в моей голове был только один вопрос - ЧТО это? Нельзя ни стрелять (да и не в кого), можно только ходить и следить за своим весом. Умирать можно сколько угодно - это ничего не меняет. Борьба с тварями заключается лишь в спаме клавиши Р2 - это типа он воздух задерживает - крайне оригинальный геймплей! Мир выглядит донельзя уныло и однообразно - только трава, да камни. Даже город крайне уныл - никого народу, одинаковые белые здания - тоска. Вода совершенно ненатуральная. Только недавно прошел TLoU2 - поэтому есть с чем сравнивать. Там, честно говоря, этим тоже грешат - или схватка с противником или пустота - никого. Но там хотя бы противники нормальные, да и города живые, а тут в городе два с половиной калеки, да и те в голограммах. Уныло, ужас. Графика - хреновая, воду я уже упоминал.

    Ещё пару слов про геймплей. Игра зачем то заточена под взаимодействие с другими игроками (которых ясное дело в мире не видно). Вот нафига это? По карте раскиданы 100500 грузов которые якобы оставили другие и которые можно другим же передать. Ужасно тупо и неправдоподобно. В результате этот сверхоригинальный геймплей сводится к нажатию Р2 и Л2 чтобы ваш увешанный чемоданами дядька не пропахал носом землю и не разбудил дитя, которое придется потом убаюкивать долго долго качая джойстик. Отвратительно.

    В общем я давно не встречал настолько плохой игры. Я ставил нули некоторым играм, но это явно заслуживает какой то отрицательной оценки. Хотя на ютубе наверное посмотрю - если убрать дебильный геймплей, видеовставки - ничего так, за сюжетом последить интересно. А, да, единственный плюс - это музыка.    … Expand

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. [Issue#299]

    This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
