Deformers has some rough edges to put up with, but none of them are reason enough to avoid the game completely. Though it may not have the staying power to tussle with stronger multiplayer offerings, at the core of Deformers is a strong multiplayer experience with a great mix of simple basics and potential for the once-in-a-blue-moon moments that define multiplayer games.

De-formers is a funny brawler game that let you choose a squishy blob to fight in different arenas.

We would be thrilled if Deformers were an 15$ game in early access, but its price doesn't match its content, and it doesn't feel like a final release. There seems to be a lot of content planned, so keep an eye on it because the foundations are really good and the game is fun, but it's hard to recommend at launch.

Deformers provides some off-the-wall fun with an oddball cast of kooky characters. However, with such a limited selection of available content, you'll be better off waiting for an updated version to arrive before starting your roly-poly combat career.

Deformers has serious problems with his servers. The consequence is a bad experience with his several failures after a long time for finding matches. The best thing of the game is his beauty and funny artistic design.

Frustrated as I was during a few Form Ball matches, I was still invested and focused on them, and prancing through a few opponents to pop the ball into an empty goal is an incredibly satisfying feeling. So is smashing into another Form and sending their soon to be carcass miles into the air will never get old, but these moments are exceptions to the rule. Deformers has a broken and inconsistent core, and I can’t fathom how any future patch or update can change that.

Despite the amount of cool and interesting features this game has, the game isn’t enjoyable, and it never wants to work properly. Deformers is pretty interesting in concept and really changes up the arena-based shooter genre with quirky graphics and unique gameplay elements. But the game is mostly broken, and all of the players have pretty much already abandoned ship. For a thirty dollar game, I couldn’t ever recommend giving it a go. It’s a waste of time and money, to put it quite simply. If the bugs were cleaned up and the game was free to play, I could see Deformers standing on its own as a pretty decent game. Perhaps if they also added some additional content or single player modes, it could hold a bit more value, but I don’t think it could save the game. Ultimately, considering the number of currently active players and lack of initiative to fix the game by the developers, I think the damage has already been done. There is simply no reason to buy this game, period.

The concept in itself is fine, but De-Formers never turns a promising idea into a worthwhile experience. Shame.

The price is ridiculous for a broken game with server issues that haven't been fixed weeks after launch. Local split screen is also a broken mess with black boxes consuming screen space. The always online aspect means you'll be disconnected even playing locally. So many reasons to avoid this mess. Full Review »
