Jun 6, 2016You're not going to find every feature you've ever wanted packed into Dangerous Golf, but what you will find is a title that nails its core gameplay concept. It lies somewhere between precision and randomness – a place where, not accidentally, a charming heart resides.
-
Jul 20, 2016We have reviewed this game after its big patch, and now it's definitely a better experience. Dangerous Golf mixes Burnout's Crash mode with golf, and offers an interesting title ideal to break from more complex games.
-
Aug 2, 2016A better game after the recent major update, especially enjoyable with a friend. Just don't expect any particularly deep gameplay - or that it has anything to do with golf as such.
-
Jun 3, 2016At its best, Dangerous Golf is an addictive and enjoyable game of wanton destruction. Its levels are challenging, and destroying the beautifully-rendered interiors is just plain fun. However, a few flaws are evident in the gameplay that take the edge off the enjoyment, making it just a good game, rather than a great one.
-
Jun 3, 2016It's a real shame that the performance here is subpar, because Dangerous Golf is fantastic fun, whether alone or with friends in the co-op and competitive modes.
-
Jul 13, 2016Too many problems and a lack of interesting ideas make Dangerous Golf a funny little game just for a limited time.
-
Aug 3, 2016Dangerous Golf, despite its constant penchant for flames, is not going to set the world on fire. It's a fun distraction for all you latent destroyers out there, and that's all it really needs to be.
-
Jul 27, 2016Battling against friends both online and through couch co-op is how Dangerous Golf feels like it’s meant to be played and it makes for a great pickup title, ignoring the initial learning curve that is.
-
Jul 22, 2016For a score attack game Dangerous Golf lacks the ingredient to make you want to perfect it.
-
Jun 3, 2016In short sessions, preferably with other players, there’s still plenty of fun to be had in tearing through each level like a bull in a china shop. That said, the longer you play Dangerous Golf, the harder it becomes to overlook the game’s shortcomings. It’s a respectable debut from Three Fields, if one that doesn’t quite live up to its full potential.
-
Jul 28, 2016It's a game with some good ideas and a great pedigree, but also one that never manages to get beyond that stage.
-
Games Master UKAug 21, 2016Frustratingly long load times. [Aug 2016, p.82]
-
Jul 19, 2016Dangerous Golf is a fun combination of sport and puzzling that has an unfortunate number of small faults to it. There’s potential for the future of developer Three Fields here, but this will just be a stepping stone to it rather than a building block.
-
Jun 26, 2016Dangerous Golf is able to entertain for a determined amount of time, that starts when we understand how the sequence of shots work, and ends when we realize that levels are way too similar to each other, and scores are totally random. During these few hours, Dangerous Golf tries to impress and involve the player with explosions and destruction, but it never totally convinces.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaAug 24, 2016Like a demolition job, Dangerous Golf starts off with impressive explosions but clouds of dust soon obscure the chaos. [September 2016, p79]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 17, 2016Dangerous Golf is so desperate for you to have a good time that it keeps heaping new elements onto the premise. A robust "less" would have offered so much "more". [Aug 2016, p.95]
-
Jun 7, 2016A forgettable experience that may bore almost everyone with the controller after 5 minutes of play.
-
Aug 12, 2016It’s unsatisfying and the controls don’t feel good and it just can’t hold up its frame rate.
-
Jun 7, 2016Dangerous Golf is a game you want to love, but it becomes increasingly difficult as you go: the unintuitive controls stop being cute and begin to become an annoyance; the objects you smash, which for a moment inspired joy, become an afterthought.
-
Jun 10, 2016The entire package of Dangerous Golf feels unfinished. Looking past the cool concept, nothing is exciting. The slow camera, the inconsistent controls, and bland mission structure combined with the fact that the game crashed numerous times during my playtime, led to much more frustration than there was enjoyment. The first few holes may have been fun, but Dangerous Golf quickly tumbles into a downward spiral of disappointment.
-
Jun 10, 2016The destruction doesn't have much of a satisfying crunch, exacerbated by the floaty ball controls when you're in peak destruction mode. The load times and egregious re-purposing of assets and areas kill any desire I have to get high scores on holes. And it doesn't even lean into its anachronistic, extreme-sport silliness thanks to its sterile Unreal 4 tech demo aesthetic and character-less "world tour." It's fun for a bit and then exhausts itself completely.
-
Jun 5, 2016While long load times aren't a huge deal in a game like Grand Theft Auto, they absolutely are one when you only get a maximum of about a minute of gameplay from each load. It's a small annoyance that builds to a huge one over time, and it highlights everything else that is wrong with Dangerous Golf.
