    No matter how you look at it: Dangerous Driving is a worthy new Burnout game. Okay, maybe the name is different and maybe it all feels a bit cheaper than you are used to. If you accept that though, you will have a great time.

Multiplayer isn't available at launch, but this omission does little to diminish the kinetic exuberance of Dangerous Driving. In a gaming landscape dominated by open-world sandboxes and microtransaction-driven "live services," Dangerous Driving represents a pure racing experience without peer.

    Though Dangerous Driving doesn't quite boast the budget it needs to properly do justice to the notion of bringing classic Burnout kicking and screaming onto contemporary systems, it absolutely does nail the fundamental core of that concept and in doing so provides both a highly enjoyable racer and an evocative blueprint for what developer Three Fields Entertainment will do next.

    From the moment you activate boost for the first time, Dangerous Driving roars to life with a speed and vision that I’ve sorely missed. Dangerous Driving is a good game, one that brings a smile to my face every time I slam a rival into the median. Three Fields has created something special here, and I can’t wait to see how they’ll improve upon it in the future.

    Dangerous Driving is like returning to the very first Burnout: say goodbye to the open world and its awesome graphics, and be ready to embrace the old fashioned events on classic circuits. It retains the variety type of races, the takedowns,... but without the polish that made us fall in love with this arcade formula.

    I had got plenty of enjoyment out of Dangerous Driving. Handling is excellent, the different modes give you plenty of reasons to keep playing, and watching your Takedowns is as addictive as it gets.

Given the small team size, it‘s not surprising that the game sometimes falls apart at the seams under the weight of this ambition. The game‘s often glitchy nature can lead to frustration when wonky collision detection robs you of a hard-earned victory. But the market for Burnout-style arcade racing has undoubtedly been underserved in recent years and thankfully Dangerous Driving’s exhilarating sense of speed and wanton destruction is enough to satiate that appetite.… Full Review »

While this game had some extremely talented people working behind it, you just can't help but thirst for something better - A true big budget Burnout successor. The game play here takes many aspects from the first three burnout games, with its presentation taking huge inspiration from Burnout 3. As a fan of nearly every Burnout video game out there (even the less than stellar ones like Burnout Dominator with a laughable 76 on this site), I can't help but have such mixed feelings about this title.

    One of the most iconic feats of the Burnout series ever since the 2001 original is the fantastic feeling of speed and brutal crashes. While the high octane racing is surely here and a very welcome change to the usual racing sims we've been getting in recent years, other aspects of the game just fall short.
    One of the Burnout series's biggest draws is that even during a crash, the player isn't too disappointed since the spectacle of the wrecks certainly was something to behold. The problem with this game is that the crashes look less impressive than the original Burnout game released nearly 18 years ago on the Playstation 2.

    The truly unimpressive crashes tie well into another issue with the game which is the lackluster graphics. Once again, I understand that this title has a very small development team and budget, but I couldn't help but notice that the graphics themselves were still less impressive than the previously mentioned Burnout from 2001. One of my favorite aspects of the old Burnout games was the incredible graphics running at a silky smooth 60 fps at an increased resolution of 480p (with the exception of the original title). While this game generally runs at a high frame rate without many dips below 60, I couldn't help but be let down by the graphics.

    Overall as a Burnout fan there is plenty to enjoy with Dangerous Driving, but the $30 price tag for what can only be described as an okay indie game just feels like a bit of a rip.
