Awfull ai, cops telleport to you when you commit a crime but if you run 100m away from them they totally forget about you, character customisation not what was prommised, very bug as of now, and the graphics are very questionable.

However I am really enjoying the story, It feels like this was made to be a linear game with the focus on story that just had a **** open world slapped onto it,

I played for about 5 hours and I really like it. But the game has big problems on the technical side. I play on PS5 and the game crashes a lot. In addition, there is not a native version, but backward compatibility from PS4 with poor graphic settings.

I recommend waiting for patches and native versions for next generation consoles.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m playing it on ps4 pro, it has so many bugs and blurry in distance and often you should wait around 15 seconds to game render things around you but this game is fantastic despite all that.
Story is amazing and gig(side quests) are even better.dialogue system is amazing although it doesn’t impact the storyline or environment but it’s still so much fun to experience.
I don’t recommend it on ps4 and ps4 pro but i know after some patches and updates it will look amazing to play on next gen consoles.
This game is awesome but we don’t have the right tool to play it on, if you want to feel how incredible it is on next gen just go to badlands on current gen, because it’s the only location that runs smoothly on ps4 and ps4 pro but night city itself is so messed up right now, meanwhile i really enjoy it despite all bugs and problems.
Let’s not insult a developer who intends to push open world gaming to a higher level and encourage them to fix problems with upcoming patches. Show this diligent crew some respect

The game is undercooked. Not bad, but undercooked. The issues with Cyberpunk cannot be ignored. Poor performance, texture pop in, and tons of bugs. It is unfinished. I sincerely hope this all gets fixed. If it does CDPR will have a really great game on their hands, but at the moment this is just inexcusable.

Playing PS4 version on the PS5. When it's not crashing, glitching, refusing to move forward, falling through the ground, etcetera it's pretty good. Needs a bit wider fov and better video options.

Long story short, I really want to play it but restarting every 90 minutes is for the birds. You learn to save as often as you can and it's not too bad. Looking forward to cdpr patching the crap

I had a mixed feeling at the very first glance but after the fix 1.04 it is playable and I am having much fun with it. One should not expect that the latest title will run smoothly on what to say very old hardware. For me, it is fine enough.

The big downfall and disappointment of this game unfortunately is the graphics and optimization. I play on PS5 and have the PS4 version and it has an immense amount of crashing and bugs e.g characters standing in a T-pose while during dialogue or just out in the open world. I also found that lighting and graphical content is very underwhelming even for the next gen consoles. The lighting does not feel optimized and ready for release. The graphics look very grainy and not sharp and smoothed out like they could/should be.

Overall the gameplay and writing is fantastic as a whole but the lighting and graphical content are sub par.

I just can't do it anymore. I play this game on PS5. I've played about 20 hours - mostly side missions. In the past few days the game has crashed to the home screen at least 6 separate times. Once, I tried to play the game and got an error that my console couldn't start it for some reason. Had to delete it off the PS5 and reinstall it to fix that issue.

Through all of this, I persisted to play through the game, because despite the endless parade of bugs, and glitches, at least it ran stable enough to enjoy it on the PS5. But for some reason, today when I started playing, I was driving around the city and I noticed muddy textures on the streets, buildings, etc. It was taking a few seconds for objects to fully load into the world. If I drove too fast, I'd fall through the street because it hadn't yet loaded.

Then, I tried getting through one of the racing side jobs and kept going the wrong way because the waypoint arrows weren't loading on the track fast enough for my vehicle. I got so frustrated I shut the game down and said F this!

I actually love the game, but I refuse to force myself through this marred experience any further. It's like watching a blurry cam bootleg of a movie you were dying to see - sure, you get to find out how the story plays out, but it's a garbled mess. I've decided to put this game on hiatus until they fix the problems on the PS4 version. I might even wait until they release the PS5 version proper.

Buy it on PC, DO NOT BUY ON PS4/PS5, despite CD Projekt Red saying they will allow refunds, sony is saying that a broken game that is unplayable and crashes is not eligible for a refund because it is not "faulty"... I've played a lot games in my day and this is one of the most creative and innovative stories I've ever seen. I wish the romances were a little meatier; they consist of 1) do a few missions for that character 2) flirt 3) have sex 4) basically never talk again until the final mission. A lot of promises that weren't kept and shady marketing practices hurt my final score as well. CD Project Red can do better and releasing the game in its current state is simply unacceptable. I love a lot of the characters and side stories, as well as the interesting things hidden off the beaten path. I only wish that there was more of it. The world is largely empty and shallow in spite of the freedom of movement. This is the least interactive RPG that I have played in years, and many elements are merely fluff and flash. I had 41 crashes the first week, and haven't bothered counting them since... The bugs--oh, man--the bugs... Recent patches have made small improvements, but the fundamental flaws have yet to be touched. Hopefully, we'll see a completed version of CDPR's premature baby at some point, but for now, I'd avoid it like an Anthrax wetnap. This is fairly easy on Playstation if you're late to the party, because Sony removed the digital version until further notice. Still: If you're something of a masochist--or possess a tremendous amount of patience, then there is quite a bit of fun to be had in Night City and The Badlands. Just keep your expectations low.

2021 edit: The game is now mostly stable on a PS4 Pro, but still suffers from low visual fidelity, major hiccups, and technical problems. The most common bugs have been addressed, pointless DLC has been released (free jackets,) and the mediocrity has never been more obvious. If you do decide to play, then I suggest waiting until the PS5 version is released. Otherwise, wait for a deep sale. ($30 or less)

I have just finished my second playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, my first playthrough was on PC at release, and my most recent playthrough on PS5.

Replaying this game on console, in performance mode on my TV felt a bit more immersive however there were some issues straight out of the gate as I couldn't seem to configure my controls to feel snappy and responsive, I also experience frequent crashes, none of these entirely ruined the experience as save points weren't too bad, but it's still quite jarring and frustrating, this shouldn't be happening so many years after release.

As for the game itself, CDPR clearly poured countless hours into creating the world but didn't populate it with enough side-content. There are some great side missions, but the vast majority of them are just boring cut and paste (go here, kill/steal that, leave),

Vehicle handling is frustrating, taking some corners feels like you're driving on ice with how dramatically the car spins out, and there isn't a lot of variety to the vehicles themselves. Most are terrible, once I picked up the Caliban? I didn't need to bother with any other car.

The main story is decent, the voice acting is solid and overall presentation is great. I enjoyed the gunplay and hacking mechanisms, I also enjoyed the fact I didn't have to mess around with stealth, if things go loud you don't fail the mission and run through it guns blazing if you choose.

The item upgrade system is fundamentally flawed, I was at level 47 when I finished the game and did as much side content as I could stomach but I still couldn't fully upgrade my items. If you pick up an EPIC gun early on and upgrade it, it can end up more powerful than if you pick up a legendary later.

Overall I enjoyed my second time around in this game, I expect the new DLC and rebalances will be good, the game is rough around the edges but in no way deserving of the nonsense 0/10 scores below, nor the ridiculous 10/10 scores.

Like fine wine, this will likely age better over time...but holy hell does the gameplay suffer constantly from countless bugs (some of which game-breaking), severe texture pop-in and dramatic framerate drops that plague much of the experience. In-between crashes it's fun action, and a lot of interesting tasks to work on. However, I am thinking it's best to wait until I can get my hands on a PS5, maybe in mid-2021 if I am lucky, before I play this game. Trouble is, I can't stop playing. It is struggling to run well on PS4 Pro, but 75% of the time not too bad.

I will not talk about the bugs, you've read this a hundred times by now. "How's the game though", are you wondering ? It's......ok......not better or worse than the average follow-the-marker-fetch/kill/rescue open world game. It's GTA for the driving, city and scared citizens, it's Fallout/Skyrim for the loot, it's Blade Runner for the atmosphere.

As a HUGE fan of that movie I must say that the city in itself is a marvel of architecture and art design.
I'm having the most fun just driving around and gawking at cool "shots" of the city which remind me of my all-time favorite movie. What does bother me however, is the absence of life. There are people, shootouts between cops and gangs, a couple of types of shops and main/side missions. That is it. There is no special, unpredictable stuff happening without it being marked, there are no mini games or other fun things to do. GTA and The Witcher had a lot of extra and fun things to do, Fallout and The Witcher had these unexpected moments that gave life to their worlds. So far, after 40h, Cyberpunk has none of that. I do like the characters though.
So my score was a seven, two points deducted because of the bugs and glitches, one bonus point added because the city in itself is a sight to behold. Have a good day.

Also, the narrative in this game feels so immature like teenagers wrote it. The choices you make have no real different outcome and graphics look good when you're just standing there taking in the views.

Overall, if you're looking for a game to spend hours in doing pointless quest with a few moments of excitement then I would recommend getting this game on sale. I can't see this game running well on the base PS4 since it was struggling to run on the PS4 Pro. Really disappointing considering the previous works the development team has worked on before.

I like RPGs but I couldn't engange with the atmosphere and characters of this game. Let's talk about the bad things: it crushed 3 times even with the patch (2 times while uploading and 1 by himself when it was uploading a mission and got frozen). I don't like to listen Spanish in every frase, also, I don't like that they put voices in Spanish from South America in the Spanish version and I don't like that if you play the game in Spanish, the diaglogue is in Spanish from South America for all the characters, it just don't fit. Keanu Reeves in the game is a plus, that's for sure, and I think I started to enjoy a bit the game when he appered. I played for more than 14 hours sticking to the main story. Obviously there are bugs and performance issues, those have been covered plenty already. What I want to talk about is whether the game underneath all the jank is a diamond in the rough, or a pig with lipstick.

One thing is for sure, when it works, the game is super immersive. A dense, multi-layered skyline, talk shows about current events in the city that play while you're in elevators, etc etc - it CAN be a very believable cyberpunk world - on the surface.

I'm not really deep into the game enough to comment on the sum-total of the story across the sidequests etc, but the ones I've experienced have so far been very skin-deep - although again, without a 2nd playthrough it's hard to know effect, if any, my choices had on things. For me that's a big problem, as it removes a feeling of agency from me unless I play a huge, often frustratingly slow game for a 2nd time, which I shouldn't have to. What I will say however is that the actual dialogue itself is well written, and surprisingly humane - overall the characters are more hopeful - or at least stoic - than I expected, which adds a nice contrast to all the brutality.

The action is also a big let down. Again, people have talked about why. The issue for me is that both the AI is awful and melee is so OP that, even though there's a super dense set of skill trees for various guns and grenades, you can get by on Normal difficulty but just running around punching people to death.

Same goes for the hacking. It's just a fancy UI with a needlessly complicated skill-tree for what is essentially some very simple debuffs to enemies and a 'distraction' mechanic for poorly designed and janky stealth. All these systems - and no need to really think or interact with any of them.

That kinda sums it all up for me. A needlessly huge environment, a super deep but pointless and bland set of systems, and some sidequests that range from pointless to 'very cool' but no way of knowing if you're more or less completely on rails for them.

All in all, a huge step back in game design compared to the Witcher - and about the other complains you can read the 0/10s....

So after 80+ hours of playing this game I have finally made it to the credits and I gotta say I, as well as many others, overhyped this game.

Let me first put in my positives. I enjoyed the games story and characters for the most part. I looked forward to each interaction with them and had fun interacting with all the many personalities of the game. Progression felt rewarding and I LOVED my hacker build, just the idea of killing enemy npc's by just looking at them felt very satisfying and made it feel more like a cyberpunk game. I thought if I focused on a weapon specialist build it would just feel like Farcry and I have played plenty of that series. The world of Night City was fun to explore and experience with every story mission I was given. I enjoyed crafting stronger weapons and hacks so I could be the best merc in Night city.

Sadly I believe that is where my positives end. The game"s many bugs, glitches, and crashes (of which I had around possibly over 20) pulled me out of the game and made me think this game was not ready for release even with all of its delays. Npc's T posing, hacks not working, items floating in midair, etc. This game needed a few more months in the oven before releasing on console. There was a bug that even caused a reward in a mission to not pop up. So here is a warning: do NOT do the Psycho Killer side job until it is patched, the mission offers you nothing for a reward

Next is the driving. My God, the driving in this game SUCKS! I was able to get better handling vehicles but that was much later in the game and by that time I mostly just fast traveled and walked. I cringed whenever I was given a mission that required me to drive a damn vehicle. Also to add I got annoyed whenever someone messaged me about a "vehicle for sale" and the map becomes littered with icons that look like quest icons but are just vehicle purchase icons.

Next is the gameplay. While I enjoyed my playstyle I have to admit that it was way too repetitive. Almost every gig or sidejob is the same for each area:
Go here and kill a dude
    Go there and steal something
Go to this computer and plant malware or download info
Kill everyone in the area and get the evidence
    Destroy this gang hideout.

The only thing that changed was the gang that ran the area and that was it. And since I am on the topic of Night city areas let me say that for a place that was described to us as "everyone wants to live" a majority of the city is dead. I mean I would go to certain sections and there would not be a single NPC for a few blocks.

And I think this will be the last thing I didn't like about the game. The lifepaths. I don't know what was so special about this life path stuff when my friend hasn't had much of a different experience from his corpo path compared to my nomad path. The only thing that was different was the beginning 10 minutes and a couple lines of dialogue, that's it. The lifepath was pretty much meaningless and has no real effect on the game or it's story.

This game was, at best, an above average game with above average gameplay and bugs and glitches that didn't help it. I warn you to just wait for a sale and hope everything gets better with future patches.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. im currently playing on ps4 pro, digital copy of game.
patch 1.04 in place. played around 20 hrs so far, met with teke at cafe in main story.

hardest thing i found is searching for a place to give feedback on the game, to help get bugs fixed. that annoyed me to no end
however, what i have found of the game so far
    good points
story has pulled me in, and the world being built is very contagious. i can see where they have put the tabletop into place ie roll the dice, perk and skill tree etc
graphically looks amazing, and sounds so good.
music and tone is there. NPCs, random convos and background chatter is good. news and adverts are crazy but funny. hovering speech to see if ya miss is a good idea.
gun combat is fun, melee is bit crazy, dying light/dead island style. i can see ppl having a problem with this though.

    bad points
-ok, sometimes a NPC doesnt load/render properly, looks out of place but is quick to go most times.
-car driving is good so far, jackies bike can be a mess at times, other bikes so far seem fine.
-open menu, and back into game, tells me i have broken down items. every time.
    - had a bug with bugbear, if accidently dropped body, it warped to diff locations of buildings. or vanished
    - hacked a camera, and when in normal game, the camera options and normal options on screen, had to go back a few autosaves to fix. (fixed possibly with 1.04 patch)
game closed down a total of 5 times now, which aint great.

all of this though, im still playing it. i am giving it a go, as i do bloody like it. it has a lot of potential, and i think if we had a easy to find bug report location,
( i had to go to CD project red website. if i searched 'cyberpunk 2077 feedbag/bug report', went nowhere ) then i know CDPR will get on it and fix it.
looking at some of the 0 or red reviews, i find none of those helpful, except **** and griping and barely plauisble feedbacks at all.
at ACT 2, game came more alive, seemed to be more ppl in streets and more activities, so i wonder if ppl are going multiple places instead of main story, and nothing has opened up yet.
again, id feedback to block areas off a little, till a certain story mission is open, then act 2 hits, boom everyone there. but cant blame gamers for going off into the world, i tried it myself.

so far, fun to play, bugs dont overly stop play, except when that error occurs ( incidentially, same error and blue screen close happens in COD cold war, spiderman and outer worlds, games i played)
not 100 perc, but not as bad as people are saying it is.
red dead redemption had flying ppl, the witcher 3 had problems to, but then was fixed to epic proportions, the division had ubisoft stop everything for a year to fix
(plus most of ubisofts games including Valhalla) have had its problems.
again, the red reviews are a bit much in my eyes
    hope this helps you all

Just played game trough on ps5. It is a great game but first negative critic

For all people dont play this game yet wait maybe year or whenever they have fully patched this game.

    Negative:
game is very crashy and very buggy. Story and world building is not on the same level as Witcher 3. Feels like too much stuff was cut out from world building it is not as vertical world as people say , and half of pasifica is unreachable no subway system.etc, feels like more than half of the main story was cut out and other stuff and just by watching trailers you can see lots of stuff that is missing, Where is trauma team and psycho squad? at least i did not encounter them except in cut scenes. World kinda looks and feels empty and this makes game less immersive. World size also feels unbalanced compared to difficulty of main storyline not enough story compared world size and side missions. after grinding side missions you can easily be too over powered at the point when you go to final segment of the game. it seems game was designed to be played trough in hurry without really going trough most of the side content. Or most of the main story was just cut out and there was no time to balance side content with main story for me many character arcs started around time just before final segment and those were harder in difficulty than the end segment feels kinda stupid.

    Positive:
Game runs smoothly on ps5 until it crashes suddenly about every 2 hours but no biggie it loads game fairly fast back.. Nightcity and world looks stunning, I loved the storytelling and character arcs and story choices i can make in the game. Gameplay mechanics are fun there is many possibilities for different play styles, and all of those seemed deep enough to dedicate one playthrough. NightCity at its best feels very alive, immersive and real specially at start of the game but after about 15 hours it starts to feel generic.

This game has some same issues that ff15 had except this game is not that bad it actually it is very good but very unfinished and unbalanced and over hyped. Just give CDPR some time and they will fix this mess for sure. It is just shame to see cdpr crash and burn like this they seriously have to fix their internal problems before making next game.

Honestly I expected an edgy futuristic gaming experience but we just ended up with generic quest maps and a not so fleshed out campaign with overused gameplay mechanics, and dumbed down dialogue. The amount of potential this game has is counter weighted with a lot of what is wrong with it. it doesn't feel like it was baked all the way in the oven when it came to writing and direction before they wen't into production. What it looks like is they made a lot of discoveries while they were producing this game, and it shows that they never found an identity for this game. It looks like a last gen game that was ahead of its time, but it came out this week.

Positives: The shooting and guns are the best part.

    Cons:
    1) Bugs Galore, and it crashes around 1 time per hour.
    2) Graphics look outdated even for a PS4 game, it looks very last gen. The NPC's all look like plastic.
    3) Proportions of the environment seem small, I don't know it just doesn't feel like I'm in a huge city most of the time, everything seems small and cartoonish, I imagined being high up and having epic gun fights in dangerous places we could fall. But I'm not overwhelmed in any away from the size of the city. It just feels like the proportions and the movement don't give it justice. It might have been better if the map was smaller and the environment/buildings were bigger and taller.
    4) Nothing cinematic about the story. It's just another open world where NPC's are all standing in one spot and you run up to them to activate story. I'm tired of playing open worlds where you constantly just get phone calls and then you have to go up to an NPC to activate the story. I wish NPCs felt more realistic and behaved as if they were pushing a story onto you, kind of like a mix of cinematic heavy rain elements with action decision making. I would prefer for there to be less NPC interactions and instead more cinematic and choreographed story beats. Think about it, in real life you cant just run up to strangers and talk to them all the time, there should be a moment where random NPC's get hostile at you for constantly talking to them. NPCs need to feel more modern.
    5) Sound and Music seem so bland. I'm reminded of Rage 2 from a lot of the sound queues.
    6) Swords and Knives make squishy sounds and they don't ever make metallic sounds and their animations and combos are basic as hell.
    7) The Driving doesn't have its own identity. They could have spent a lot more time changing how travelling is done, like upgrading parkour abilities, climbing, and more jumping attacks. Metros, trains, and high speed air taxis could have been so much better. Even fast travelling could have been cooler from what they are offering now. I really imagined myself being above ground most of the game.
    8) The world is missing a sense of innocence. What I mean is there is no contrast in the universe and or the characters. There's no relationships that feel authentic nor there is a sense of fragility within the characters. There's nothing sympathetic about anyone in this story, they are all just rough criminals. I would have preferred playing as a cop or a detective with loved ones and something tying him/her down to why we wan't to live and for whom. There is nothing that makes me care about this ticking time bomb, nor does anything in the story make me truly feel like I'm in the future; it honestly feels like a generic story super imposed in a future setting but there's no WOW moment. The dialogue could be less on the surface and more profound.
    9) There is no memorable antagonist or moments that feel like there is a real pending doom or a big story. This game really does feel tied down to generic open world mechanics with a generic quest map and nothing incredible in story. I expected a real epic story but ended up with just a map filled with exclamation marks.
    10) The shooting is the best part of this game but there is missed potential on how we can use technology to defend ourselves. Imagine all types of armors and devices that can block or absorb bullets and deflect robots. Anything futuristic would make this game more of an RPG but it always just goes back to the generics of an FPS. Borderlands 3 has better armors.
    11) The UI is low res, feels like a PC UI, every-time I use the UI it pauses the game and brings you out of the moment, I wish the UI was connected with my character better and it didn't pause the game but instead was a gaming component. The organisation could have been better same thing with the sound design behind it.
    12) I wish I had more abilities in fighting, and more abilities to travel and jump around the buildings. Missed opportunities with the swords and melee combat.

I cannot in good conscience support CDPR's behavior, even if there are good merits within the game. Simple fact is, look at the trailers and look at the finished product; they lied to us, and then they proceeded to sell us a broken, buggy mess.

Still though, there's a good experience in there... somewhere.

The reason I revised the score is because I've now played for 70 hours and (bugs aside) it is actually a pretty good game. Yes, there is a lot of cut content that CDPR lied about, yes there are a lot of half baked ideas, yes many things are shallow or unfinished. Yes the AI is absolute trash (it almost doesn't exist at all. Really bad). But if you can get past all that (and I understand many people won't) then its a great game.

The attention to detail in the content that is there is incredible, far beyond most other games I've played in my 25 years of gaming. The characters are also some of the best of any game, as is the music. The main story is a bit meh (again, feels rushed), but the individual story beats and side stories are fantastic. Hopefully they will flesh it out more in DLC... Also, many complaints about missing missions/unfinished quests are actually not true: you can end a questline without knowing by making the wrong choices. There IS player choice, its just not in your face (no "blah will remember this") and while I wish there was more and more impactful choices, its wrong to say they aren't there. The city is also quite fun to explore. The filler content annoyed me at first, just seemed to water down the good bits, but now on my second playthrough, I'm actually having a blast playing the filler. At the time of writing this, I've played about 90 hours and I'm far from finished.

Its also worth pointing out that there is still more content here than most games (ignoring the big competitors like red dead 2) and the quality of "most" of the (non-filler) content that's here is top notch. Its just overshadowed by many many shallow, half assed or downright cut features and the CDPR exec's lies. And the bugs. Oh god the bugs.

So in summary: its a good game, with lots of cut content. CDPR hyped it up with features that don't exist (they lied, you could say) and that's not acceptable. Its also a buggy mess which is not acceptable. But beyond all of that, there is some really great content that few other games have.

MY RECOMMENDATION: If you can ignore the bugs and shortcomings, play it, its great! But for most people, I recommend waiting a few months and seeing if the bugs get fixed and what (if any) extra content they add or cut content makes it back. Its a good game, but most people should wait.

    Original review:
I'll start with the good and work to the bad:

The good: story, characters, atmosphere and overall world are great. The writing is very good.

The neutral: most gameplay is decent. Not amazing, but not bad. Eg shooting is ok, driving is ok, etc. Nothing mind blowing, but not bad. Personally, I'm not a fan of first person shooting with RPG-damage numbers. I hate when I shoot someone in the head point blank and they don't die because it only did 200 damage instead of 300. If I shoot you in the head, I expect you to die. For this kind of game, I greatly prefer third person games. I don't mind first person, but I would have preferred third person.

Now for the bad and oh boy its bad: The game is a buggy mess. Seriously, not fit for purpose. It should never have passed certification. It crashes, it glitches, it freezes, it has rendering problems, audio problems. Lots and lots of problems. Overall, besides some crashes (approx. one every 5 hours) it hasn't been "game breaking", but it is annoying. Very very annoying.
And the graphics. Oh my **** god, how did they think this is passable? When the game scales its resolution down, eg when driving, it looks much worse than GTA5 (a 7 year old game!), its super low resolution, super grainy. Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Detroit, Red Dead 2 -- all of these games look far, far better.

Its a good game that should never have been released for current gen consoles and needs another year of development to fix bugs. Shame on CDPR for thinking they could get away with releasing this mess.

Having played the PS4 version on the PS5 with a much stable framerate of 60fps, bugs and glitches are not only visual, but can also block your progress in secondary missions. Flying items, empty streets, and extremely dumb NPCs are some of the things you will find in this version of the game.

However, the biggest problem is that the game keeps crashing at least one time every 2h aprox., regardless of the situation you are in. I have experienced crashes in the city centre, in the Badlands, in the menus, or even in the middle of a main story mission, to the point where I have stoped playing, since I fear that this constant crashing might even affect the console.

The only reason I am giving this game a 5/10 is because it is still 'playable' in PS5 (stay away of the game if don't have a next-gen console or a high-end PC), and because the game underneath the problems is truly great, although simply unplayable right now.

As far as the game itself is concerned it is basically Grand Theft Auto meets Blade Runner with a 1st person perspective. One might also say that Cyberpunk 2077 is to The Witcher 3 as Fallout is to the Elder Scrolls. While the world looks amazing when running / driving around, unfortunately that is where the innovation ends. There is nothing in this game that has not been seen & done before ad nauseum. Huge world with tons of characters, items & quests, but it is essentially the same quests & content over & over. Drive from A to B, kill everyone (Rambo or stealth - doesn't matter), grab an item, make a phone call or send a message, get paid. Loot the same weapons & junk items, get over-encumbered, break down, sell, or upgrade the same weapons, rinse, repeat. The driving is simply awful, worse than Grand Theft Auto IV; motorcycles drive better than cars, some cars go faster than others, they all handle like boats. Same characters having the same endless, but thankfully skippable, conversations that will put you to sleep. For all the hype surrounding this game it is nothing special, just another open world game, and a $25-$30 game at that, hardly worth buying a next-gen console for.

That is all just the of the iceberg as far as bugs go. The amount of bugs and crashing in this game stretch far beyond what I've outlined but the biggest issue is that I've spent almost as much time on my PS5 home-page as I have in game.

The good here is that the story is good enough that I want to continue regardless of all of it.

The crashing and bugs on the current patch (1.06) drag what would be a promising and gorgeous game to a 5/10.

However, there are still major niggles that need to address for it to be 'playable'. Well tbh, I really love the game and didn't care much on the bugs. Here are some of the things that I will touch upon:

I am playing this on PS4 slim and will be touching on about the graphics. I'm playing on 2 different TVs at 2 different times; 1 is 1080p and another is UHD 4K HDR. If you play on a PS4 console, the 4K TV looks awesome (if you enabled the HDR option) and the 1080p looks like crap. Currently, the game is on 1.06 version in my PS4 and there are still some areas that caused the framerate to jinx the game and crash. I do have several crashes at first but after the newest update, not that much. I realized that if you went to an area with a lot of objects that interacts behind the environment. It starts to get buggy and the framerate fluctuates erratically. If you don't like the graphics, then disable the first 2 settings under graphics: Film grain and Dynamic Resolution Scaling.

The intellect of the AI for the NPCs and enemies are not that great and reactive. Really need to have a definite overhaul in this area to be competitive with other studios. People keep comparing with other open world games like GTA, Watch Dogs and RDR with Cyberpunk 2077. I could agree that more or less there are pros and cons. Cops don't give chase but drones could just destroy you in one shot when you trying to drive away. Enemies just...ogle themselves and stay in their own cover. There was few times I shot one guy and another 5 tripped over the dead body. lol, somewhat I believe the interactions of these figures can be better. Traffics, hijack, real-time timing, I believe that the perception of people having these expectations, completely destroys the enjoyment in experiencing Cyberpunk 2077. To every creation to its own. Stop comparing and experience the story properly.

I'm giving this game a 6 because I believed that there's something missing that requires immediate rectification. I hope CD Projeckt Red take this as a valuable lesson and do not rush the development of the game. Don't over hyped the game when it is not doable. So should you get this game on PS4? I suggest you wait awhile to get all the update patches in 2021. But, if you are so curios on the story line and, get the game. I recommend.

The performance trouble and the bugs are really immersion breaking. Every few minutes something happened that reminded me I was playing a game and not actually a smuggling nomad mercenary. But I must say that the ps4 version is very badly optimized: in closed spaces the graphics are fine but when you leave the apartment you realize that you are playing a ps3 level game since if you move away from an object at 50 meters it disappears. There are tons of graphic glyphs like disappearing npc and characters walking through the walls and freezing animations. After that the NPCs are few and the vehicles as well (this point gives a lot of night city atmosphere) but when you start hitting a group of NPCs the frame rate goes from 30 and drops down to 2 fps. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. While I admit the game does have issues and needs to be fixed, as someone who has played 25 hours of this game on the ps4 I absolutely love it.

Yea there is issues but those aside I love the Story, the Characters, the FPS and the side quests, I love night city and just how gorgeous it looks especially at night. I love the customization of the main character and able to full change anything about your character like adding new eyes for different skills or new arms. The crafting is pretty basic but I enjoy it and the skill tree again is basic but I like it.

Only reason it gets a 3/5 is because the game does need to be fixed, also the world isn't as interactive as I would have liked. Yeah theres buying cars but theres no "games" in the world. Nothing like Gwent that's for sure. In a game like this you except to have some side activities like pool, bowling, fishing, whatever so its not just a matter of jumping from mission to mission. I sort of expect CDPR to put that in the Free DLC coming but that should have been apart of the game overall, not an added feature.

Overall I do like the game and it runs fairly good on my ps4 but even I admit the game needs to be patched

I waited a looong time to play Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4.
Yes, it's a bit glitchy still... most likely when you arrive at a destination too quickly.
Simply chill out a few moments, everything loads, then you're good-to-go. The game notwithstanding is great! (easily a 9 without the glitches n' problems). So many choices, so many paths to take. Great immersion. Great story. Loved V (male),

An excellent game released too soon... with a failed release and flawed execution.
Look past the warts, accept it for what it is, and enjoy a fun game.

As someone who platinumed the game in 105 hours (would've been 90 if not for having to redo things due to crashes and glitches that required a new game). As someone who platinumed the game in 105 hours (would've been 90 if not for having to redo things due to crashes and glitches that required a new game). While this is unquestionably the buggiest game I ever played (plagued with so many game breaking and immersion ruining bugs), the underlying game is still not very satisfying.

    Story:
The first act of the game is jarring because life paths don't work. No matter the choice, corpo, nomad, and streetkid will have you get a 3 minute cutscene and time jump that gets you to the same story within 20 minutes of gameplay, which was probably a whole act that was cut. The only differences due to life paths are some minor expositionary dialogue that have no effect on any thing and can be skipped.

The story itself is a good cyberpunk story, but there is no emotional connection to any character because of the time jump and you are left wondering "who even is that guy/girl?" and when major things happen to characters and are intended to leave you with emotions but end up being either unintentionally funny or shallow.

The second act creates a sense of urgency that breaks immersion in the side content because the main jobs should canonically be of utmost priority. This is one of the biggest problems of witcher 3 and they made it worse somehow.

The third act of the game is basically one long mission, and the only one where choices matter (so much for an RPG, but they stopped marketing it as such a few months back anyway so no surprise). You can literally do all the endings in 4 hours if you make the right save. Same thing for side jobs. There are probably 1 or 2 jobs that affect other ones in a major way, and none that affect the overall narrative. Keanu (Johnny) is decent but some of the lines fall flat. The plot also revolves around him in a big way, and I can't help but feel like once they got him on board for DLC or something they redid the whole game to capitalize on his popularity. Shame. The story is really short though. 13 hours ish if you ignore everything else (which is fine since it has little to no bearing on the main quests outcome except for one ending).

The gameplay is varied and you have a decent customization option sets but it's broken in that it gets ridiculously easy even on the hardest difficulty if you do certain things.

Side content is overall fun (side jobs) but the 'gigs' are just copy pasted fetch/kill/rescue stuff you can farm xp and stuff. Disappointing.

The game will never be patched to quality. You can remove the bugs (and try) but the underlying game is nothing to be proud about.

i believe that its a good project, but it`s needed to be polished as soon as possible. In my opinion, the workable on PS4 is acceptable. I have PS4 SLIM last revision. There is some bugs, but is`s not critical.
I have concerns only about optimization and resolution. its acceptable to play on PS4, but around the V`s home and in City Center - FPS is unstable.

But underneath this is an extremely memorable cast of characters (with a special menyion to Keanu Reeve's performance as Johnny Silverhand), a breathtaking world (from a distance), fun driving mechanics & a stellar story. I myself finished my playthrough with my first ever bad ending across any game & felt more empathy & heartbreak than in any game ever before.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the epitome of 'Half-Baked'.

The history and gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 it's really good, u can it on your ps4, but.. Have in mind that you'll have to wait some seconds before enter a new area. I think this will be one 100% solved in the next patch's, 'cause when the game was released this was very, very worst.

If you have a PS4 or PS4 Pro, don't get it. If you have a PS5, go for it. It runs well and haven't noticed any issues on PS5. Avoid playing on last-gen. Regardless, it's still a CDPR game with beautiful visuals, an interesting location and a concise story featuring Keanu Reeves. But DO NOT go in expecting another masterpiece like The Witcher 3.

Mixed experience with this game. The strengths of this game are the open-world experience with great character development, missions, and choices which offer replayability. Unfortunately, the constant bugs and crashes, even on next gen hardware detail this experience. Would recommend playing this on either pc or waiting until a true next gen version later in 2021.

My initial score after launch? 0/10

Disappointing performance. Didn’t take to the lies. Deinstalled the game. I reinstalled it after patch 1.05 Running better. My hardware PS4 PRO with external SSD. Visuals appear better. Most of the vaseline is gone. Still far away from what was advertised on high end PCs. But enjoyable. Way less bugs. One can see the vision of Night City.

Visuals appear better. Most of the vaseline is gone. Still far away from what was advertised on high end PCs. But enjoyable. Way less bugs.

One can see the vision of Night City. Great architecture of the city. Very engaging quests. Great immersion. I can sense how much effort was put in to create the quest gameplay.

Strong contrast to other undercooked parts of the game though.
The whole inventory menu feels lackluster. No subway just teleport points! Guess it wasn’t ready at launch.
The driving is weird. Could have used an autopilot to target location. Or a more advanced GPS guiding system.

I can see what CDPR has aimed for. BEST RPG, BEST GRAPHICS, BEST IMMERSION.
In order to achieve this it needed to be worked on a bit longer.
One can see the vision of night city. But the gameplay does not deliver.
One can see the immersion of main story quests and some side quests, but all other systems feel undercooked and do not deliver.

Can’t forgive the deception and the lies though.
CDPR should have scrapped the last gen versions alltogether. THIS IS A NEXT GEN GAME!

My admiration to the DEVELOPERS. My middle finger to the management. They wanted to make all the money! Shame!

Otherwise, appart from the occasional bug it crashes once per hour. Not great but serviceable.

Beyond all the bugs and performance issues... it is just a mediocre game that does not deliver....sadly!

I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
