The game is nowhere near the previous installment, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy. The overall game design is too messy, poorly built stages/platforms and doesn’t have any old-school platformer vibe that we used to play.

Crash 4 isn’t so challenging at all, make the game child play. Pixar-ish cutscenes are boring, not seemly and not unique. There are tons of differences between this one

There are tons of differences between this one and Crash Bandicoot 1 remake. The powerups are also make the gameplay even easier and the core gameplay life span is too short.

Crash Bandicoot 4 could’ve been way better than this after it’s glorious resurrection in 2017. But in this form, it’s just another copy of it’s old unsuccessful entries.

Better stick with Super Mario Galaxy HD, a game that offering hella fun experience even after a decade.

Dont be fool this isnt a Crash 3 follow up, but rather is a TfB project, nothing bad with that as gameplay wise they try to come as close as possible, but while playing such things stood out as the jumping being very floaty and how many similar mechanics they incorporated from the RnC series; wall jump (understandable), grinding (they really use this one a ton), slowing time (a la Future)Dont be fool this isnt a Crash 3 follow up, but rather is a TfB project, nothing bad with that as gameplay wise they try to come as close as possible, but while playing such things stood out as the jumping being very floaty and how many similar mechanics they incorporated from the RnC series; wall jump (understandable), grinding (they really use this one a ton), slowing time (a la Future) and gravitating to the roof amd floor (nexus). Also they focused more on collectibles, which many who enjoy doing this will have their hands full, personally im with the group that preffer just collecting crates (simpler yet effective). And Before focunsing on visuals and story, the bosses in this game are rather uninspiring, they most just use machines or contraptions (while Brio was nearly felt the same as C1 but slower and more boring). No i want to focus on my previous statement, why does it feel like more like TfB Crash project than a follow up for Warped? The answer comes in Visually and Story telling. The characters visually look and feel from a Skylanders game not Warped, with unnecessary redesigns where shapes and frames are completely change (example Coco n N.Gin, and Crash's weird neck dilemma), and this is something that completely stands out and i see many reviewers not pointing this out. And the story, with the exception of the intro, nothing else is mention or reference from Warped. Crash hasnt had a chance (with the exception of Twinsanity) to tell a fleshed out story ala Jak, Sly or Ratchet, but here he gets his chance and was lackluster. We have the premise of the multiple rift opening that Uka did (this being his last appearance on the story, and only mentioned once after this), from there on the story develops, and while some interactions with the masks are nice, most of this felt out of a fan fiction with many callbacks to previous games, dull characters interactions that one would day dream of, the complete focus on exaggerated expressions (i understand TfB wanted to focus on this, but they went full with this, it felt like they wanted to achieve every model expression for each character sheet got checked), the overly use multiverse concept thats been beaten to death and use as a free pass for stuff like Tawna's new design (she's from a different universe, which is just an excuse to show off their take on the character, lime they've done with almost the entire cast), the incorporations of meme that only the fanbase will recognize (i understand that their take on the story was one to be seen with a lack of seriousness, but adding the woah meme...that was the lamest thing done in this franchise, just embarrassing.), and the portrayal of characters (Cortex being a goof lile for 95% of the game, Dingodile's uninspiring inclusion in the story and becoming one of the group, Brio working with Cortex again with no explination whatsoever) . All in all, im glad Crash is back, but dont let you're nostalgia and hype blind you, despite this being billed as a Crash 3 follow up (which one would not recognize unless you read the summary or see the 4 in the cover), cause visually this is inspired on Crash of the Titans and Skylanders. It’s impossible to describe how great it feels to have Crash Bandicoot back on the big screen - it feels like a real return to form from the original games. The game is severely difficult, but that’s part of the fun for me at least. I cannot stress to everyone that this game is worth every penny and more, especially if you love a good challenging platformer.

The variety in levels design is amazing. Every level has its own character. The difficulty is a little bit unbalanced but it's still enjoyable after all.

Same old crash. Horrible controls. I'm more frustrated playing this game then leaving it in my youth. Another jump and another miss the ledge by a millimetre and die.

Best Crash game yet. A big step up technically. Although linear in design it suits perfectly the game style . 60fps on Pro. Silky movement. Variety. Lots of levels..great audio and solid gameplay. Far out performed my expectations. Gameplay nods towards Donkey Kong Country.

The level designs are to good , it also contains a lot of skin which you can earn by completing levels and earning gems , hopefully, there is no microtranslation in game , which means you can unlock skins by playing through the game , and the best part is that this time , we can play as tawna and dingodile and neo cortex , you can also have a new experiment with N.VERTED mode after you beat the game , story is fun and the flashback levels which combine with a nostalgic soundtracks is great , the control is also good and the game is challenging a lot . There is really no weak point in game Expand

The story could have been better but I wouldn't say it's lacking when taking the original trilogy into consideration. Crash was never known for it's amazing storytelling but rather its difficult yet fun gameplay which this game does wonderfully. It's also one of the few games I can think of with a skin system that doesn't have any **** microtransactions tacked on (and from how it looks, would be hard to add on later like they did for the CTR remake)

With all that being said, if you've played the original trilogy and have been looking for a new game to scratch that itch, this game will do just that. For anyone new to the series, I would say this is a competent game on its own (Though I would recommend playing the original trilogy first to see if you'd like the kind of gameplay Crash has to offer)

I think both new and old players will love this game and I'm giving it 9/10. I wish they would have had more levels where you could play as the new characters though, seems like a waste to introduce them and then only have a few levels where you can play as them. I also wish the game was a little longer and the bosses were more challenging, the game took me like 5 hours to beat and I only struggled with the final boss. Expand

Love the Crash series but this game controls like **** have clipped through the ground so many times and the controls just do not respond consistently. If you want your Crash Bandicoot fix play the N-Sane Trilogy or Nitro Fueled and skip this **** bomb. Only giving it a 4 for graphics and sound

Toys for Bob's game is a welcome addition to the original trilogy, although you will hardly remember its levels or music. Crash Bandicoot 4 is two steps below the amazing Super Mario Odyssey and Yoshi’s Crafted World.

I honestly did not expect such a stellar game. Crash Bandicoot 4 is breathtakingly beautiful, features an amazing soundtrack full of references to the original trilogy, offers tons of content, and thrilled me to bits with its brilliant level design. What’s more, it stayed true to its gameplay roots, while introducing loads of great new mechanics. For me it’s the game of the year. I salute you, Toys For Bob! [12/2020, p.58]

Crash Bandicoot 4 is a worthy addition to the Crash legacy. It captures the spirit, fun, and challenge of the original games, and adds a lot more that genuinely makes the experience even better rather than simply padding out the gameplay. The game is certainly challenging and the levels could probably use a few more checkpoints, but the number in the game is truer to the spirit of the originals than modern gaming standards. A little perseverance will get you through the game, but it’s going to take a little work if you want to be a Crash completionist. Overall it’s a great platform game that perfectly blends the old and the new into a fun new experience.
