While I greatly enjoyed Control and The Foundation was solid, it feels like Remedy didn’t have any gas left in the tank for AWE. It’s visually boring, it’s irritating to play, and the connections to Alan Wake are laughably thin — the entirety of it could have been summed up in 90-second cinematic trailer. If this content had been available when I was going through Control the first time, I probably wouldn’t have objected. But now, a year later? It’s far too little, far too late.

Control: AWE sold me Remedy when Alan Wake was shown in the trailer. And although the DLC reveals its story little, it almost does not affectControl: AWE sold me Remedy when Alan Wake was shown in the trailer. And although the DLC reveals its story little, it almost does not affect the main plot of Control in any way, it gives pleasant feelings of the relationship of 2 episodes of the combined common story. Control: AWE was created to heat interest, before the release of Alan Wake 2, you should not expect something unique from it. This is perhaps the most personal DLC I have seen, which is focused on a narrow circle of players - fans of Remedy and Alan Wake. For players not familiar with the original DLC, I would not recommend. Full Review »

Control is one of my absolute favorite games in my 25 years history of gaming. And with that expansion they made it even better. good horror movies. The connection to the Alan Wake story is AWEsome and doesnt reveal too much but feeds you constantly. It is very different from the first dlc and combines the strenghts of the original game with some great new ideas. the atmosphere is tense and authentic and just soaks you in. i really hope that remedy will change their minds and make a third dlc. if not i hope to see at least a alan wake sequel and control 2 on PS5.
