People who wine about that there is no story mode should just shut it. There is a reason for taking away the story mode because very few people even start it.

Blackout is the best battle-royale experience available today, zombies offers crazy customizable co-op, and multiplayer keeps things grounded for those looking for the classic core.

I haven't had this much fun with a Call of Duty game in a very long time! Everything feels just right, and I'm glad it's more grounded. I didn't think I'd like the whole class ability thing, however after playing it I'm in love with them! There's just something super satisfying about creating choke points with razorwire and barricades as Torque!

    I can't stop playing!

Best COD since black ops 2. gameplay feels smooth and game modes keep you engaged. frankly only neckbeards care about campaign/single player because CoD has always been made for online multiplayer - get good nerds.

I don't necessarily think this game is a 10, I do think it's an 8 or 9. I'm rating it a 10 because there are far too many disingenuous reviewers who haven't played the game and are bitter that it doesn't have a campaign. They're not writing honest reviews and, quite frankly, it's annoying. If you're not gonna buy a game, you can't review it. The removal of an average single-player campaignI don't necessarily think this game is a 10, I do think it's an 8 or 9. I'm rating it a 10 because there are far too many disingenuous reviewers who haven't played the game and are bitter that it doesn't have a campaign. They're not writing honest reviews and, quite frankly, it's annoying. If you're not gonna buy a game, you can't review it. The removal of an average single-player campaign that never stood out as good and is barely touched is not a reason for a 0.

You review based on the quality of what's in front of you. And so far, I find the quality to be incredible. Smooth gameplay. Well-optimized. Blackout is a ton of fun. If you like battle royales and you like the smooth responsiveness of Call of Duty, you will adore Blackout. PUBG and Fortnite are fun games in their own right, but even the most avid of their fans can agree that gunplay is very meh in both games. Not to mention being third-person.

Zombies is fresh and innovative. A new system for perks that removes overpowered crutch perks in favor of less dominant, more balanced perks across the board. Tons of room for player choice and role strategizing. The gameplay loop has evolved to something new. Plenty of people are resistant to change and don't like that. I find that the new loop is improved on the old one, which was getting stale. This is coming from a day one Zombies player and lover.

Multiplayer is the mode I'm least excited about. Mainly just because over the years, Call of Duty has bored me. Black Ops 4 is decently fresh. A collection of maps that is larger than any game in the current console era, that includes remasters of popular maps from previous games. The map count keeps the game fresh for longer, the proven quality of the remasters keeps the entire group afloat.

in the end, this is the most quality Call of Duty game that we've had in well over half a decade, if not longer. As always, there are always tons of people who are more interested in hating on CoD than giving it an honest try. Hell, I'm pretty sure two of the zeros below are from the same person on two accounts, because he typo'd "company" where he meant to say campaign, in both comments.

As much as I would have loved a campaign, I'd prefer a fully polished Multiplayer and Battle Royale Blackout.

These days single player FPS COD campaigns aren't that interesting. BO3 was the last decent campaign. So I wouldn't bother worrying about it too much. It was already heavily advertised as having no campaign, so I don't know why there are so much whiners. But I have to say it's

They should of had at least 2.

Will be giving it a 10 to offset those ridiculous 0s. But I'd would most likely give it a 7.

So many reviews don't make sense to me. I love this new COD so much. The zombie mode keeps getting better and this one just blew my mind. I love the specialists concept which was upgraded and balanced, and also the blackout mode. I'm very satisfied with BO4 and would recommend it.

I haven't played the last few CoDs because i didn't like all the air jumping or wall running. This CoD does completely away with that and adds some good things, thank God. For MP we get some nice modes like Heist and Control... Heist is like Payday but better. It's nice because noob or not, everyone starts with the same thing.

Then there's the battle royale mode called Blackout, which i'll admit it's very challenging but intense as hell. There's added things in this mode like bullet drop off rates, item pickups and backpacks, vehicles, etc. Blackout takes time to understand, but once you do, it's hard to stop playing. I've even met some pretty cool people that actually use the headsets effectively because you really need to coordinate in Blackout.

Then there's Zombies, which offers a lot of little modes within it to suit most players, casual or hardcore. I'll admit I've spent the least amount of time in Zombies, but I hope to get back into it eventually. The only thing I don't like is that most of the trophies for this game are unlocked via Zombies and I would have liked to see more trophies in the other modes.

You might also say a negative is there's no longer a campaign really anymore. Personally, I don't call this a negative because thinking back to all the campaigns in older CoDs, they honestly weren't even that good. Nor will they ever be as good as CoD4:MW campaign. The missions themselves just got stale as the series has grown, so seeing it ditched altogether was no surprise. What might be considered campaign now is quick little stories from the different classes. They pit you against AI and overall it's quite boring, especially if you already played the MP. It's there just to get you familiar with each class, which makes no difference at all if you play Heist or Blackout all day.

The game is a good return to what makes CoD a fun, fast-paced, rootin' tootin' gun shootin' game.

It seems like I just need to add good review to compensate those dummies who dont even own the game.
Blops 4 is well done. The MP on PC is fluid, everything worked straight of the box. Zombies are looking cool, need to dig deeper into them tho and Blackout? Possibly the beste BR game atm.

Disregard pretty much every 0 or 1/10 review that you see. In pretty much every review at 0 or 1 that I see, there is a common theme among them that shouldn't be. Now onto my personal review of the game. It's great! I feel like Call of Duty is finally (getting) back to its roots. Sure it is still based in the future a bit but not like other COD games we have seen. No more exo-skeleton, no more wall running, no more flying or double jumping. We are finally back to boots on the ground action and grit.

Again, we are (getting) back to what the COD franchise used to be and it feels so good! Multiplayer is solid and so far I haven't had any issues.

If you are looking for a Call of Duty that brings you back home and makes you feel good about the game again, pick this one up. I have owned practically every one of them up to this one and can finally say that this game is getting back to its roots as it should.

Again, don't like Battle Royal and want a campaign? Don't buy the game, simple as that. But leaving a review for a game that you did no research on and then purchased and hated, I have no sympathy for you.

Im not sure why this game is getting review bombed. I've been playing cod since cod 2. This is the best the franchise has been in about 7 years.

Blackout is a nice addition to call of duty and will evolve heavily in the next couple years. It feels and controls just as cod multiplayer always has, just on a map around the size of fortnite. Every man for himself, duos, or quads.

Every man for himself, duos, or quads. There will be different events added often. If this even remotely sounds good, give it a shot. Its a lot of fun, but its at its best in duos or quads.

I've briefly played zombies XI map twice. Im not an Easter egg hunter but had a blast figuring out the basics of the map and blowing zombies to bits. Oh and there are 2 other maps included as well with its own standalone progression system from blackout and multiplayer.

Multiplayer feels right again. It feels like where the series should have progressed after bo2 instead of the future setting and movement we got for a while. The best way i can describe how it feels is black ops 2, mixed with some bo3 elements. The maps are some of the best i've experienced in a long time. The killstreaks feel powerful when you earn them....... i'm looking at you ww2....... and the manual healing system adds extra strategy into your gameplay. And it becomes muscle memory real quick.

Honestly don't let the 0 reviews scare you. Its obviously not a 0 by any stretch of the imagination. Although there are some balancing issues in multiplayer and blackout, they will get fixed and forgotten about. If you're a big fan of cod, like i am, l then i think there is a lot to love here. Try it out.

I usually don't write here, but after coming back after a long break from CoD, and playing this for one night, I have to say it's the best the series has been in years. I'd usually give it

It’s not that I can’t respect it — it seems to offer decent value in that it’s essentially three different types of shooter in one package, but aside from the new Blackout mode, I’ve had significantly better experiences from many of its competitors. And honestly, Blackout’s main competition is a free-to-play game. It may be better than Fortnite in my opinion, but sixty dollars better? I’m not entirely convinced about that, and without a decent singleplayer campaign attached, it’s a pretty hard sell for anyone who isn’t already a fan.

Despite its generic title Black Ops IV feels like a fresh start for Call of Duty. The multiplayer and the zombie mode is very much the same as always, but with Blackout, Treyarch takes everything that is good with Player Unknown's Battleground and makes it better.

With no campaign to test your trigger finger, the trio of a safe (albeit polished) battle royale, waning multiplayer, and rotting Zombies make BLOPS4 feel like a relic next to a post-Forsaken Destiny 2. [Issue#156, p.94]
