    All people are doing is whining over the fact that there is no story mode even though nobody ever played story mode in the previous titles. This game isn't even that bad and I still have lots of fun playing online.

    This game is bad, really bad. First of all, there is no campaign. While the BO3 campaign sucked, it was atleast fun when there wasnt a cutscene or dialouge. The fact that this game is sixty dollars is exploding my mind as the guns are unbalanced, there's no campaign, the blackout mode is just a worse version of all the other battle royales, and the zombies is just BO3's but worse.This game is bad, really bad.     Beautiful graphics, but not playable as BO1, BO2 or even BO3.
    Zombie mode is not bad, but also very boring after a couple of games.
    Snipers control and sensivity kinda s****, sorry but not sorry!

    The fact that this game is being sold at full price is ridiculous. There is no campaign in this game so there should be no reason to sell a game like this that is clearly unfinished. Not to mention that this game is being sold at $60 with microtransactions is crazy.     Complete atricious garbage game, i kept getting on sweat tryhard lobbies, due to this broken skill matchmaking, now yes i'm not really good at first person shooter but my god don't make a sbmm like this, literally i think this is another worse call of duty i ever played same goes with bo cold war, and vanguard.

    Short and simple, I've played COD since the first one (2001) and was a huge fan of the first black ops game. We all know this series is going downhill for more than a decade now but after getting CODBO4 for free on ps plus I don't even want this game for free. Not only this is garbage, I've been a fan of activision since River raid on the C64 and Atari.     Wow this is truly a crappy game that I recommend to no one. No single player for some reason. I’m one that loves the single player first & MP second or third (Spec ops probably second & zombies after that). The battle Royal isnt worth the effort it just seems pointless. Save your cash & buy anything else

    I feel angry not for the game, but for the company that products it and sell it. I mean, Treyarch and Activision, do you know something like beta-testing and debugging?    … Expand

    really bad the battle royal part of this game that everyone was excited for was TERRIBLE and the zombies part of the game you have to buy after you buy the game if you don't get the full version but it's terrible no call of duty zombies can be as good as bo3 zombies very big disappointment for this game.

    Game is really buggy and the match making is horrendous. If people though skill based match making in Cold War was bad the match making in this game is even worse. I’m only a level 30 and I am constantly being paired up with people above level 100, who buy every single stupid and ugly micro transactions there is in the game.

    And at least there’s split screen right? You cannot even achieve a constant frame rate of 30 while playing in the split screen mode. And most times there would be huge lag spikes when ever a other player was in your field view, making shooting and aiming impossible.

    There’s so many micro transactions in this game it actually annoys me so much, especially when every player I’ve seen has bought them. They look stupidly goofy as well.

    If I honestly paid full price for this game I would not leave the store I bought it from until they gave me a refund.    … Expand

    This is not even a Call of Duty game, scrapping off the campaign for a Fortnite/Overwatch/R6 copy-paste, the gameplay is awful, the nerf guns are stupid, the graphics look like Super Readers kids TV show, and yet, Zombies is a failure, Fortunately I haven't gotten the chance to play it and I like to keep it that way, Broken piece of filth you call a Call of Duty game. The lack of a campaign is my biggest complaint, as the story for BO3 has no meaning, especially since BO4 is set 20 years after BO2 and 20 before BO3, and the characters from the first 2 games are just dissed and usedI hated this game initially, but overtime, i started to give it more leniency. 2/3rds of the budget for this game was just blown on a Battle Royale that was mediocre at best.     Multiplayer is mixed for me. Specialists are more broken than how they were in BO3. Prophet, Firebreak, Ajax and Torque are meant for people who aren't good at the game, as their weapon mechanics are to benefit newbie players by stunning them, giving them a shield or allowing them to camp. And they're perhaps the most used specialists in the game

    I also really don't like the 150 health system, as it feels like i have to empty a whole clip into someone. It's the reason i use rapid fire on all my weapons, but whoops! Its like with every gun, they just picked the attachments out of a hat and called it a day. People argue its to benefit how the weapon performs, but how fair is it that an AR like the KN57 has Rapid Fire, but not the ICR-7? Or why can't i dual wield the Strife but i can dual wield the Saug 9mm? Or why can't i have a bayonet on the Rampart 17 but it's on the VAPR? It's all unorthodox.

    Also, the battle pass system...let's keep it, please? Oh, but they still need to make up for the crappy BR mode so we'll add supply drops for the 6th time in a row along with COD Points!

    Zombies is where most of my complaints lie.

    I. Did not. Like. The new perk system. That, along with the create-a-class is just to help out new players, when the previous 4 Treyarch titles had none of that, and it all worked perfectly fine. Half of the new perks are really just filler since they can't sit down and actually come up with something unique, or they couldn't be bothered to bring back older perks that never got a chance (cough Vulture Aid cough Tombstone cough). This was done because "It removes crutch perks". On a technicality, all the perks are crutch because someone depends on Timeslip or Blaze Phase or Stamin-Up. Removing the original perks was a bad move, especially since the Double Tap effect is at it's best when you Pack-A-Punch a weapon 5, count 'em, 5 TIMES....to have it at it's fullest potential.

    Also, the fact you have to pay for a shield, while price rises with each purchase is utterly absurd. A free shield? Nah fam, pay for the damn thing.

    Half the maps are remasters, specifically remasters of Mob of the Dead, Nuketown, Five and Call of the Dead. I understand, some of these maps have a significance in the Aether storyline, but i would still prefer new locations. Chaos is nothing more than a attempt to avoid properly wrapping up the Aether story. I didn't find it interesting at all, despite the maps IX and Ancient Evil being pretty damn good, too good. Voyage of Despair and Dead of the Night didn't have that same consistency when it came to quality, and are hot messes of over complicated features and janky map design.

    The remastered maps stay true to what the original maps had, with some locations on said maps being removed, changed or new ones being added. That didn't justify that it's literally all just re-used assets on a newer engine with no improvement in the quality. At some points, the maps they're re-imagining look better than the re-imagined version.

    The ending for the Aether story did give me a sense of completion, the story is wrapped up. How they executed the ending, i wasn't happy. Playing as the Victis/Tranzit crew on the 4th map remaster with no true final battle just saddens me. Treyarch hyped the ending up to be this final showdown with Dr. Monty and possibly the Shadowman again, except we just got, as i told many before: just another Zombies map.

    BO4 is not the worst COD, but it's definitely the worst Black Ops title. It's an interesting experience to say the least, but i still find myself playing older Black Ops games, specifically BO3 as it's considered the fan favorite.

    If you feel its not worth the money, don't buy it. I just hope Treyarch can see that they need to do better if they want to have another successful title.    … Expand

    My first cod was mw4, and i fell in love with it: interesting company, pleasant gameplay and a lot of guns. And bocw is nothing of these: very short company, disbalanced gameplay (terrible maps and almost zero weapon damage) and a few guns even after season update. I really regret about buying this game (can i call THIS game?) and wasting my time trying to get enjoyment

I did enjoy hiest mode and the hiest dlc though. Specialist are very annoying, and The microtransations systems are some of the most ridiculous systems ever.     This is horrible. There are more cheaters than legit players. This game has ZERO anti cheat technology. Reports are being ignored, Nazi flag emblems also. The gameplay is very unprecise, the classes dont make any difference they just confuse. I am glad I bought it via g2a, because this isnt worth more than 10$.

    The league doesnt work AT ALL. I waited for half an hour - no game found.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me just start off by saying if i had to rate this game out of 10 i would definitely give it a 9. I wouldn't say it is the best Call of Duty Black Ops, because black ops 2 will forever be the best Call of Duty ever. Although black ops 4 is up there, it's just not quite there. I want to start off with the bad things about the game that i don’t like or things that i would change. First I am very disappointed that there is no campaign, that was something I looked forward to in every single call of duty and for it to not be in this one I was a little upset. I am also not a very big fan of the weapons in the game, I prefer the weapons from like black ops 2 and 3 especially the snipers from those games. Other than those small things I do really enjoy the game and I would recommend it to everyone that likes playing video games, and i'm going to tell you why. First thing is I absolutely love the maps in the game, they all have the main spot where all the action is and I love that and think it's great to get a lot of kills. Next thing I want to say is I absolutely love how there is a battle royale mode in the game. I think this is perfect for the game because everyone loves fortnite and want a game like that and they did a great job putting that in the game and making it so fun to play. Another thing I really enjoy about the game is how they have cool reactive camos, and I'm so happy that they added the weapon accessories and the death effects. For the accessories you can win these little things that hang off the side of your gun from the black market and they have all sorts of things to put on there. I think they did a great job with adding the thing where whenever you level up you get a reward, so it is kind of like the battle pass from fortnite and there are some good rewards you can get too. Now there are a couple reasons why i would recommend this game to almost everyone that plays video games, and the first being it's simple and easy to play. My 5 year old sister can pick up the controller and play the game. It's just too easy, I don't understand how some people are bad at the game. All you have to do is point the gun and shoot, not that hard. Another reason I think everyone should get this game is because if you don't like the multiplayer version then you have other options, zombies and the battle royale version. I play zombies almost everyday and let me tell you it is so fun and I could sit there all day and play the game. You could also play local multiplayer which means that you are playing against bots and not real people so that is fun to just mess around and kill a bunch of bots. Overall I think it is a great game and I would recommend it to everyone that likes shooting games. I think it is a great game for all ages.     The reason I gave this game a 3 is just because of the Blackout and Multiplayer! The zombies was phenomenal! Multiplayer broken and p2w. This game was rejected. I’d say just get rid of this game. I would actually love 2018 CoD if it was just zombies. This game is terrible.

Campaign was replaced with "Blackout", a battle royale mode which "does it only the way Black Ops can". Blackout was nothing more than Fortnite and PUBG with a Call of Duty skin (and with graphics that would've been bad on a PlayStation 2). Zombies is still the best gamemode (it was the best in BO3 as well), but even then it's a severe downgrade. As much as I enjoy playing maps like "IX" and "Blood of the Dead", it doesn't make up for the outright atrocities of "Voyage of Despair" and "Dead of the Night", and the fact that the final two Aether maps EVER were nothing more than remakes of "Nuketown" and "Call of the Dead" with no CGI cutscenes was insulting to the Zombies community.

    Do not buy this game. Do not even get it when it's free. Treyarch should have to pay YOU to play this trainwreck. It's very clear that the devs gave up on Black Ops 4 very early in its life cycle. And if the devs don't care about the game, then why should us players care about it?    … Expand

We got one new location in the entirety of a year, i hate to compare it to fortnite but at least they consistently kept it fresh to keep the player base playing the game. Zombies where a nice addition though and quest items to get characters was a great addition I really liked and sadly we never got anymore after launch apart from Multiplayer outfits. Some of the new modes where interesting with the best being the small Alcatraz map mode, none though really surprised me so I just stuck to playing the core modes.

    Multiplayer was bad as well. Most of the weapons which came with the new operation where way too overpowered and didn't get the necessary nerf. How can i forget to talk about the god awful specialist and how overpowered some where to others eg. torque was useless while nomad was op. This really ruined the experience and most of the new maps where completely forgettable. Finally the modes in this were fine like the st patricks day mode was fun and so was heist but sadly we didn't get enough new and unique modes but ones we already had in previous games (just like the specialist)

    Zombies.... this breaks my heart how this went from the massive hype of bo3 to this absolute trainwreck. We are introduced to a new crew named the chaos crew which where forgettable with the only real characterization going to scarlett and the other characters, well, you will have to read comics for. Four launch maps was unbelievable, but sadly only one of the maps was the high quality which we expected, this map was IX. Voyage of despair was tedious to play and the two Aether maps where remakes which destroyed their classic maps. Then came the DLC season..... damn this was horrible. Dead of the Night was garbage, too many zombie types and new characters was an insulting punch to the player base. No content for a long time after that, I believe it was for four months. Blackout and Multiplayer getting consistent updates while the zombie playerbase was given nothing but gauntlets which where boring. Finally we get ancient evil its great but its on the Bo4 engine so eh it will be forgotten sadly. Alpha Omega and Tag Der Toten where bad, no CGI intros or outros for the end of 10 years, this was bad, what happened, well probably funding cuts. How are the maps? just like all the other bo4 maps, forgettable. The ending to zombies pissed a lot of people of, it pisses me off but not as much, its the closure we needed, still we wanted a satisfying ending not a shocking ending. Also factions.... we don't talk about that.

    Specialist HQ is one of the most insulting things added, trying to add a campaign story to get you excited for probably the next black ops. Don't get me wrong I like the idea it has but really did we need cutscenes? no we just want to try out the specialist to see what they do. So yeah this was trash.

    All the broken promises, laziness and greedy tactics is what destroyed what could of been a return to form but sadly this continues the spiral down for the call of duty franchise. Maybe we get a call of duty every two years to polish the games and never get a disaster like bo4 again.    … Expand

With 100 players and a boundary closing in on players which makes the game a little more intense. Even though PUBG did this before people still ignored that. A new battle royal and a tier list influenced game creators. So games started having these tier lists and battle royals included. And you may be wondering, what does this have to do with COD. Well the people who played the game is obvious. When I heard that Black Ops had a battle royal like Fortnite's, I was exited. I bought the game then when I opened it up, it was somewhat good. It was decent for a few days until I found out that there was no story mode. And i was mortified dammit! A COD game with no story mode............ God did what! And apparently there was a story mode, but it was a tutorial merged with the story. And that made it even worse. The cutsences were short, and when I mean short, it was like 10 seconds long. Maybe even shorter. The gameplay wasn't even part of the story. Actually should i even try to call it some sort of story. If they just put it as a tutorial and not show any resemblance of a story, and just showed all the characters backstories, I would give this game a 5. For my standards anything a 5 or over is good game and rating. The tutorial made the game bad, not horrible but just bad.… Expand

    Не забываем про просадки ФПС. ПРОСАДКИ КАРЛ! На картах 5 на 5 метров с убогой графикой!!! Правда рояль более стабилен...

    Про абсолютную пустоту контента на старте я вообще молчу. Оружия мало. Кастомизация бомжатская. Уже почти месяц прошел с релиза, а они даже черный рынок не прикрутили. Про отсутствие сюжетки ничего говорить не буду, она меня мало интересует в колде.

    Просто удивительно, что отказавшись от сюжетки, Трейарк выпустили такое лютое говно. При этом цена как за качественный ААА проект. Но пока что им и не пахнет. С батлой примерно такая же картина...

    И еще один минус: по сути эта игра - ремастер старых мультиплеерных режимов. Это печально. Одни и те же карты столетней давности - это уже совсем халтура.

    В итоге ставлю тройку только изза наличия рояля. Он хоть немного скрашивает картину.

    While Blackout is good, I am in love with the MP. It is so buttery smooth, and we finally have some deviation from the 3 lane map formula that started to drive me insane in the later CODs. Heist and Control are two excellent new game types which keep it fresh as well. Its not perfect, but it's finally done something to make itself different from previous titles. A lot of the reviews mention the lack of campaign, I will get far more value out of Blackout than I would have from a campaign, so I see it as a fair trade.    … Expand

    DLC weapons are too unbalanced. Gambling plays a huge part on getting a good weapon. Pay-to-Win.

    Treyarch has outdone themselves. This game has made me lose faith in the COD series entirely. They’ve completely turned this once great franchise into a micro transaction money grab to the fullest extreme, and it shows. Will they be back? Will they disappear forever? Nobody knows. All of these extra multiplayer modes (nuketown, sticks and stones, etc.) and blackout modes just need to stay in the game 100% of the time. Also, there are guns that you can ONLY get by paying real money. The kicker? They’re THE BEST GUNS IN THE GAME. Black ops 4 is a complete pay to win mess, and treyarch and activision are complacent in this garbage. Save your money, do NOT buy this game. I wish I hadn’t bought a digital copy, I could’ve at least traded it in for the 2 bucks the game is actually worth.… Expand

    Stock 2 and annihilator break competitive. Treyarch refuses to remove GA'd weapons and abilities out of competitive. Pubs have so many OP weapons and attachments it's unplayable. Treyarch doesn't care about competitive multiplayer at all.

There are several issues I have with this video game, one of them being the micro-transaction system. Currently, you either have to grind for approximately 60 days to get all of the "content" that is in this title, or spend an absurd amount of money. For example, if you like a particular camouflage that is behind supply drops, you have to get it for every single gun in the game. That's just ridiculous! Also, the time to kill in multi-player, at least in core game modes, is much too long on most weapons, other than snipers and specialist weapons. Who thought that was a good idea? Lastly, the removal of single-player was absolutely stupid. Some people, including myself, love campaigns in Call of Duty. Why did Blackout, which is my least favorite mode in the entirety of the game, get the okay to just shove a great concept out the window? I'm not saying this is the absolute worst CoD that has been made, but it's damn close.… Expand

    Pay to win dlc weapons are to broken and it is way too boring playing the non dlc content besides the only way to get most of the dlc weapons is in supply drops

    It’s not that I can’t respect it — it seems to offer decent value in that it’s essentially three different types of shooter in one package, but aside from the new Blackout mode, I’ve had significantly better experiences from many of its competitors. And honestly, Blackout’s main competition is a free-to-play game. It may be better than Fortnite in my opinion, but sixty dollars better? I’m not entirely convinced about that, and without a decent singleplayer campaign attached, it’s a pretty hard sell for anyone who isn’t already a fan.

    Despite its generic title Black Ops IV feels like a fresh start for Call of Duty. The multiplayer and the zombie mode is very much the same as always, but with Blackout, Treyarch takes everything that is good with Player Unknown's Battleground and makes it better.
