    This game is really a masterpiece. The performance of Ellen Page, music, story, art management, director is extraordinary. Many times during the game my eyes filled with tears. These kinds of productions definitely need to proliferate. If possible, the continuation of this game should come.

Me enganchó desde el principio y me ha parecido que tiene una historia mas o menos bien enlazada y sobre todo muy entretenida, con momentos de terror y momentos de felicidad. Haberlo jugado en desorden cronológico ha hecho que mi experiencia sea mucho mejor. Aun así este juego tiene sus carencias como la escasa jugabilidad o la mediocre narrativa deEste juego me ha gustado bastante.     Almost a 10 to me. Spectacular acting from everyone involved especially Ellen Page. Great looking game with a great story too. I’d recommend this game to everyone with a gaming station. Beyond Two Souls is a “hell of a ride.”

    The acting and music are great for obvious reasons (Page, Dafoe, Zimmer). The graphics are fine. The story is adequate. But the whole experience is wrecked by awful control mechanics. Beyond: Two Souls was released two years after Uncharted 3 and Witcher 2, both third-person perspectives with good movement and camera control; how did this pass playtesting?

    Por um motivo imbecil posteriormente corrigido na versão de Playstation 4, Beyond Two Souls aposta em uma narrativa confusa, com memórias cruzadas que não seguem uma lógica específica. Além, por mais que as performances de Ellen Page e Willem Dafoe sejam memoráveis, a história tenta demais ser levada a sério, mas não consegue.

    Porém, os gráficos são completamente espetaculares.

    Mirror's Edge Catalyst is a highly enjoyable action-adventure game featuring fluid parkour mechanics, an engaging story, and stunning visuals. It is a must-play for fans of the genre. but the story wasn't the greatest.

    Beyond: Two Souls is the definition of how you can fail to make an even decent written story (and characters) in a game that has it as its only focus and relevance. I'll make it short cause this product is not worth your time and by saying that this review as well should take the bare minimum so here are ONLY A FEW cons:

    The incoherent way of how Aiden (Jodie's ally in form of a spirit) can and cannot act and the poor impact it has on the story regardless of your choices most of the time

    The failure states, you can't fail ANYTHING in this game which should lead you to a whole different story route UNTIL THE VERY END of the game, embarassing.

    The game overall isn't bad although I think some of the controls and camera angles were annoying at times. In particular the melee qtes were hard to tell what way to go. Someone would be swinging a weapon and you can tell if you duck or attack. Even know you should be able to do both only 1 works. You get a "remixed" version which puts it in chronological order but because this wasn't how it was written it doesn't quite portray it right. And the original would have been better if it was told more in the right order with the odd flash back here and there. 1 thing this game does better then Detroit become human is the combat parts are less linear. You actually are able to wander round a bit more and decide your angle more freely rather then 1 way or no way. I know this is a story based game but it's still nice to have a little bit of freedom every now and then which is something they gave the player here. Strange why they drifted away from that in the next title.… Expand

    Beyond Two Souls is the only game that i would give a 0 to, because with most video games that are made by development teams of more than twenty people, there is at least something to say about the game that is positive. Beyond Two Souls though is as awful as it is pretentious and exploitative.     A non linear bunch of nonsense. David Cage at his worst. Telling it non linear renders most of the choices irrelevant. Making it just on big pile of set pieces, that don't fit together.

    Le jeu est incroyable. L'histoire est géniale, les personnages sont bien écrits (pour la plupart...), le tout pour donner un jeu qui fait vivre de réelles émotions au joueur en lui faisant vivre une aventure unique. Pour moi, ce jeu est une œuvre d'art.

    Plot/Story itself is interesting enough to make you walk through to the end. But then again with Quantic Dream recipe, the execution is bad, story-telling is bad and gameplay is the worst as always. Any way I recommended to anyone who love story-teller games, it's worth playing just wait for sale.

    3. Parts Where you can possess people with Aiden very cool.
    4. Game has immense mission variety. Get this you go from destroying some punk kids at a party, to being homeless and helping a women give birth, to stealing secrets from other nations, to riding a motorcycle and destroying the police in a town, to destroying people trying to sexually assault her in a bar, to riding a submarine to a underwater base.

    cons
    1. horrendous writing (especially in the party mission i mentioned before Jodie shows the kids her powers and 2 seconds later they want to open gifts. And then they start bullying her and shove her in a closet... I'm like didn't you just see how she has powers (facepalm) also in that same mission Jodie who looks like she's 11 makes out with a 19 year old who literally has facial hair, like mad creepy.
    2. the story is told out of order. Which to be fair if you pay attention you should know what's going on but its just pointless for it to be told out of order. If the missions of her as a child are to boring to be played in order just limit or rewrite them.
    3. Military missions except for the embassy are just terrible and out of place.
    4. Some missions are 5 minutes long others are upwards of a hour.
    5. Romance in this is laughably bad and cringe. to be fair maybe she's so quick to kiss guys because she a hermit but still awkward and cringe
    6. Game is very limited with allowing you to do cool stuff with Aiden
    7. My ending was garbage. Basically she gets rid of Aiden and Starts to miss him and is sad but when she was on the beach with her husband or boyfriend Aiden writes in the sand "Still Here' and i facepalmed.
    8. Game logic is constantly contradicted for ex. Aiden can't go to far away from Jodie because it "hurts' but when the game needs it he literally hovers above the sky to show Jodie her objective. ITs like c'mon bro.

    Conclusion
    Beyond is not a very good game and is significantly worse then Heavy Rain. Its story is mediocre at best and terrible at worst because of its horrible writing and bizarrely being told out of order. The only good thing about the narrative is Jodie. Sure individual missions may be well presented like the homeless section but sadly that whole section is rather irrelevant to the game. And is kind of just filler. Funny i enjoyed the filler more then sections actually relevant to the story.

    I played it on ps now for free. So if you have ps now and you wanna play it you have nothing to loose. But you certainty will not miss out on much if you miss this one.    … Expand

    Beyond is an emotional journey. I remember playing the game on PS3 almost 10 years ago, was really young could not connect to the game concepts, I even remember using Aiden to mess around with people, got them real scared just for the fun of it. 

    Since I recently experienced Detroit become human on PS5, felt like replaying another quantic dream classic, so I got the PS4 version of    Beyond is an emotional journey. I remember playing the game on PS3 almost 10 years ago, was really young could not connect to the game concepts, I even remember using Aiden to mess around with people, got them real scared just for the fun of it. 

    Since I recently experienced Detroit become human on PS5, felt like replaying another quantic dream classic, so I got the PS4 version of Beyond. Not a remastered version, but it has son graphics upgrades that help avoid make the game feel too old. Too bad they could not get it to run at 1080p 60FPS on PS4.

    The experience was great! A solid 10 for me. There are a few things that felt off: in Detroit every combat interaction prompt that you don't get right will lead the scene into a different direction, but in Beyond it's just for the fun of pressing buttons while you watch the cutscenes. There are no consequences for not getting it right, the scene will flow in the same direction regardless of what you do. Also, the game makes you feel as if every choice you make has an impact, showing you a chart with the decisions you made.  But It's for nothing, the story is linear and there is no way for you to change the course of events, so it's all show for nothing. The only thing you can do is choose between life or death at the end. 

    Regardless, the experience was unique for me, so it's still a solid 10.  Quantic dream raised the bar capturing emotions with Mocap and making you feel the characters emotions. Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe have raised the bar regarding what an actor can do to perform the characters in a way that feel human and authentic in a video game.     … Expand

Ellen Page played her role very well, a fine actress who I enjoyed in manyI had a decent time in this follow-up to Heavy Rain, a more expansive broader story with some cinematic thrills spliced in between some truly sluggish story beats, which become more onerous the more times you end up repeating the chapters (assuming you're going for that rare 100% platinum achievement as I did). Ellen Page played her role very well, a fine actress who I enjoyed in many things up to and including her recent much publicised transition to Elliot Page.

    Willem Dafoe is also excellent, in fact I'd suggest the performances in general were a step up from Heavy Rain. I would say on balance I still preferred the detective / kidnap story and characters of Heavy Rain a bit more, but I admire how completely different David Cage went with this game with its themes of loss, death, and spirituality compared to what came before, and would come after in Detroit Become Human, another very different story set in the future but some shared themes.

    The game gets a 7 on balance, as I found some of the pacing in this one debatable. The demand for 100% necessitates repeating some chapters that become more and more onerous to the detriment of the game, which I would rate a 5 for if I took those trophies into account which includes an entire re-run of the game in its 'duo' game mode (arghh) but ultimately would recommend to most people to give this game a try.    … Expand

    Atrocious, ambiguous & repetitive quicktime controls aside, the story was pretty engaging; Page & Dafoe's performances were very good. It definitely might be worth multiple playthroughs. Maybe the score will go up if I try a few more times.

    + Makes use of Sixaxis and touchscreen controls.

    - Disjointed plot.

    The production quality (animations, voice acting, etc.) is far better in Beyond than in Heavy Rain which makes for a significant improvement in the playability of this type of game. However, this is overshadowed by a weaker story (too much jumping around and an impetus which is muddled until the later stages of the game) and a far less interesting cast of characters.     This is an absolutely stunning game visually with fantastic acting and story. Even 8 years later this game looks great. I have played this game multiple times. Would HIGHLY recommend if you’re into heavily story driven games (or works of art in the case of this game). Would recommend playing on PC with controller.

    2 things saved the game: the ending, and Ellen page.
    Now lets go in to details. Most of the time i got bored. And its gameplay mechanics is pretty bland and the game's flow doesn't keep you from boredom even its story couldn't save it. This is the first time i didn't quite enjoy a game on a PS5. The graphics is really outdated i guess it can play 720p at best.

    Beyond 2 souls is better and worse than its predecessor even tho its massively overshadowed by it. The acting is superb in comparison to heavy rain with Ellen paige giving a believable performance as jody the sole protagonist this time around allowing greater focus than any of heavy rains characters got. Willem dafoe and assistant stand out as supporting members and the rest are enjoyableBeyond 2 souls is better and worse than its predecessor even tho its massively overshadowed by it. The acting is superb in comparison to heavy rain with Ellen paige giving a believable performance as jody the sole protagonist this time around allowing greater focus than any of heavy rains characters got. Willem dafoe and assistant stand out as supporting members and the rest are enjoyable in there small parts. The story is told in a time line jumping fashion which keeps u guessing but also impacts how little impact your choices have until near the end as choices affect that chapter and not many others. The gameplay is also better with the only failing being the quicktime events without prompts being hard to judge. Aiden adds a lot to the gameplay and the puzzles involving him are the best gameplay sequences over the 2 games imo. There's one really long section about 3/4s through that feels overly long and out of place, even with the fact it leads to an important event after the fact. The story is interesting and enjoyable but the supernatural tale pales in comparison to the murder mystery in heavy rain but that's down to personal preference of genre. Overall I prefer heavy rain slightly but it's worth a playthrough… Expand

I'm going to put it out there and say this is Page's best role, she is honestly amazing in this. The non-linear route doesn't really have that standard story structure, however it's a great way for us to learn about the characters and build up emotional relationships with them. Story choices are a key feature in this and you decisions will impact different aspects of the story. At the end I realised that I had built up relationships with the characters wanting to spend more time with them.

    Don't expect nothing revolutionary with the gameplay as it's your standard quick time event. However, this doesn't really remove anything from the experience as this was the type of gameplay I was expecting. However, sometimes it did get frustrating. The slow motion quick time events in combat got annoying. You have to move the analog stick in the direction of the motion to block or attack. However, it would be hard to pick the direction where there was more than one motion. This often resulted in me getting injured but had an interesting impact on the story. One aspect of the gameplay I really loved was the stealth, I didn't expect gameplay like this. The action sequences did give you that adrenaline rush though, even though it was just quick time events. You know in the back of your mind that one bad move could alter the story and characters.

    The visuals looked great on the PS4, I'm unsure what they looked like on the 3 but obviously not as good. Each location you visit looks really good and highly detailed, adding to the immersion and realism. There were a few lighting glitches but you'd really need to have a sharp eye to catch them.

    I believe Hans Zimmer did the soundtrack and it was as beautiful as the visuals. The music perfectly captured the emotion, even making me tear up at a point in the story. When there was action there is music to match the scene, heightening the immersion even more.

    This is a must play game, and with it receiving a PC port you have no excuse not to. If you're looking for something fast-paced every second then this probably isn't for you. However if you're looking for a game with an amazing story, characters, visuals and music, this IS for you.    … Expand

    Played this on ps3 near the games launch date and was very excited to play it again. After 5 years the game still holds up very well graphically and in storytelling. I was again moved by jodie's rough and trying journey. The game has well developed characters, a great plot, and awesome soundtrack.     The only thing I can fault the game for is gameplay. Quick-time events can be confusing when you have to dodge or attack enemies with Jodie. Also interacting with objects is a bit awkward in regards to the controls.

    Besides the funky gameplay everything else the game has to offer is great! If you decide to play Beyond: Two Souls, which I hope you do, you'll get your enjoyment from the narrative aspect of the game.    … Expand

    Maybe it is one of the best game I ever played! I love it and I will play it again because you can understand more about the story if your choices will be different.

Go into this expecting a playable movie with a plot depending on player choices, not a video game. However there is some cool sequences that include moving the environment (as Aiden). A key part of this game is the dichotomy between Jodie and Aiden, Jodie being the character you control and the rest of the characters see, and Aiden the spirit that Jodie only sees. A fun aspect of this game is the switching between the two and helping Jodie in her problems she faces. All in all this experience is similar to a TellTale game with high quality graphics and more cinematic moments.

    Recommended if you like : TellTale Games “The Walking Dead”, Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, Life is Strange.

    Do not play this for- Fast paced gameplay, challenging gameplay, a quick story for one session.

    Glitch level- pretty high, I experienced some sort of camera or facial animation glitch once every hour playing it, none were game breaking just kind of goofy glitches that can take away from the moment in game.

    It's been 7 years and I have finally touched that masterpiece. After playing RDR2 or Witcher III , I didn't think anything could make me so touched with the story. Yes , there are some problems with repetitive gameplay and poor game design, however the story just takes in on the BEYOND level!

    Improved graphics I appriciate that I do not think I would play it if it was not for this version.
    I love the ability of taking your own choices that lead into different endings.
    There was some complex things in the story but generally I liked it.
    Something to keep in mind the camera angles were not the best.
    Over all this game was a good experience.

    I think this video game is interesting, especially for the beautiful and emotional story. In term of gameplay, it suffers like Heavy Rain. I would call this game more an immersive movie than a video game. I still had a good time with this game and the story is memorable.

Simplemente magnífico, en lo personal jugué el juego por allá del 2017 y lo volví a jugar en PS4, es toda una experiencia, sin embargo los controles son un poco extraños teniendo en cuenta que jodie se limita a no correr cuando se vuelve aburrido solo caminar y caminar, además de que el manejo de la cámara con el joestick derecho es un tanto incómodo aveces, pero esto seria el único problema que le encontre.
    El juego es magnífico tiene una historia deprimente, desesperanzadora en ocasiones, y llena de acción, la historia es no lineal, es decir se completa con diferentes fragmentos de la vida de jodie que ayudan a entender porque está vinculada con una entidad y como fue su niñez etc, de todos modos el juego da la opción de jugarlo cronológicamente.
    Las decisiones pueden influir poco o realmente mucho a lo largo de la trama y para más explícito en el final.    … Expand

    Beyond: Two Souls would've fared a lot better if it had even more visual detail, other control options and extra content to make it more like a director's cut. As it stands, though, it's a great conversion of a pretty good Quantic Dream development, mind its storytelling issues and quick-time event gameplay. Plus, it won't kill your wallet being priced for only $30. That's something even invisible deities can appreciate.
