    Against all the negative reviews, I purchased this game anyway. I like the Battlefield series, but this one is the worst so far. It really feels like DICE and EA are just phoning it in with this installment. I historically play Battlefield games first for the single-player campaign and then multiplayer.

    This campaign is nearly broken. It is riddled with texture pop-in, assets clipping down straight through the floor and disappearing, and many other graphical glitches. The cutscenes regularly freeze entirely for 10 seconds or so, making me fear that the game has completely crashed. I come to expect these things with PC games, but for a console release from a "AAA" developer and publisher this is inexcusable.

    In addition to the graphical issues, the enemy AI is fundamentally broken. Enemies regularly stand facing away from me and do not even respond when shot, seemingly stuck in their animation. At other times an attacking enemy will for no reason simply stop, turn around and begin running in another direction shooting at imaginary other players who aren't even there.

    Lastly, the "artistic" license that DICE has taken with this "historical" shooter. I have always been very interested in WWII history and have watched nearly every documentary on the time period. It was a turning point in the way the countries of the world see each other, a time of great innovation and technological achievement, and above all else a time when nearly every free person in the world joined in a fight against a true evil. This evil had a name, and a face. The Nazi party, led by Adolph Hitler, nearly destroyed the world. And yet, in this "historical" shooter about world war II, the word "Nazi", the iconography of the Nazi party (i.e. swastikas, eagles, images of "Der Fuhror", etc...) are completely absent from the game, presumably not to trigger anyone who is uncomfortable with those kinds of things. Pandering to this audience does nothing to benefit our society, and censoring history, even in forms of entertainment, for the sake of someone's emotions is just silly.

    Not to mention the "creative" license that gives credit to the sabotage of a German heavy water storage facility to a fictional pair of women, while not even acknowledging the real men who died IN REAL LIFE making sure that Nazi Germany never developed a nuclear weapon.

    With all these issues, the game is by far the most disappointing Battlefield game I have ever played, and based on this experience I will definitely not be purchasing the next installment, if there is one.    … Expand

    I played this game quite a few times with a friend as I wanted a new shooter to replace my usual COD purchase which I did not make due to no campaign and BOP. I was unsure about going anywhere near a game made by EA/DICE after the two terrible efforts with Battlefront. But I need a shooter as Battlefront 2 has been binned and I am getting bored with COD WW2.     I have played Every Battlefield game in the franchise and this would have to be hands down the worst game in the series. Same old Battlefield with only slight cosmetic changes and is a bug haven. Poor old dice struggled for ideas so much they had to use a Battle Royal mode to try and pull them out of the grief. All in all if you want to spend money for a map update and slight changes ifI have played Every Battlefield game in the franchise and this would have to be hands down the worst game in the series. I can look past the SJW stuff if the game is functional and fun, but it just isn't. The game is a chore to play. Since launch, the game has suffered problems in virtually all departments, especially the sound, movement, and in-game visibility. Despite updates to address all these problems, they still persist.

    The game's lack of commercial success coupled with the loss of revenue due to the lack of a premium pass is worrisome for the future of this game and the Battlefield series as a whole. I fear because of these two reasons there will be less incentive on EA/Dice's part to see this game through to its conclusion. It already feels as though they've started to give up on it just months after release by pushing out generic updates that rarely add anything noteworthy, and in some cases even take the game back two steps.

    The maps are some of the most unremarkable I recall in the Battlefield series and they start to feel stale very quickly as a consequence. The only ones that I like are Devastation, Rotterdam and Arras. The others fall between mediocre and outright appalling.

    I reached rank 50 and unlocked pretty much everything I wanted after just 24 hours of playtime. That is not what I consider a good progression system if I ever saw one. Why not add more ranks, more skins, more costumes instead of wasting development time and budget on game modes that nobody plays or cares about, Dice? Better still, add more maps, factions and make this game feel like a WWII game, because it feels nothing of the sort at present. You hardly ever listen to what the fans want, Dice, and that's your biggest problem. The community says they want one thing and you give them the polar opposite. They want the core game fixed, not crappy game modes like squad CQ. Papering over the cracks by adding game modes like this does nothing to address the glaring problems your game has. Fix the important stuff and add the less important stuff later.

    The one positive I can give this game is that I find its gunplay more solid in comparison to a predecessor like BF1, but that isn't enough to save it. It is just too flawed with too many bugs, too many people lying prone with MMGs. Nobody moves around in this game. It is the campiest Battlefield game I have ever played, and Dice is partly to blame for designing their game in a way that encourages camping.

    I have hardly scratched the surface of everything I could list that I don't like about this game, but I will leave it there. in conclusion, I can't recommend this game as it currently stands. I wish I could but I can't.    … Expand

Maps are not that good, weapons are just ok. TTD is still messed up. As of now i have played BF V for about 100h and I am not going to continue for much longer. It is just not satisfying. On top ofUnfinished, buggy, repetitive and lacking content. As a big BF fan that have played almost all games and spent more time with them that I would like to admit this is the worst BF game so far. Maps are not that good, weapons are just ok.     I was about to buy BFV, as price has dropped by 50 percent and there has been a few patches,
    From what I've read from the 500 USER reviews, this is a pile **** still I have stopped and will never preorder an EA game again and stick to USER ratings well after the game is released. If you want a battlefield game to play you are best going back to a previous entry which will be more or less the same experience but complete and cheaper.

    The single player story sections are ok, if you have played battlefield 1's story then it is basically that but worse and much more forgettable. I wont go into more detail to avoid spoilers.

    4/10- if you are wanting a new battlefield to scratch that itch, buy an old one.    … Expand

Overall though, this game punishes you for playing it. I almost always end up finishing gaming sessions after playing this feeling frustrated and angry at the game (not at other players). That does not happen to me in other games. Battlefield 5 is so broken it is not worth playing. It might be worth playing 6 months from now when they finish the base game. at that time I will play it and may change this review, but right now this game does not work how developers or players want it to work.… Expand

Weapon upgrades have little to no repercussions, causing way too many op builds.Medic is weak with and the smg force medic to be in more risk to revive because of how weak they are.

    The "live service" is very slow and when they do happen, weapons are there for a limited time. Did anyone really complain about how weapons unlocked via challenges that you complete when you can? This system can be even more frustrating especially when the tracker doesn't measure correctly leaving me frustrated when I just got done doing a challenge and THE TRACKER NOT COUNTING IT! Also I know the rest of the factions are coming but it gets boring having to play as only British and the Germans for this long on the same maps. I would honestly like a night version of some of these maps to add variety.

    I did rate this game a 1 at first because it actually functioned but now its just utter trash. There are sniping hackers shooting through walls across the map, interaction buttons are so picky that do more harm than good. The Audio for soldiers are absolutely disgusting (they sound like chickens or car alarms). This is an absolute disgrace to the Battlefield franchise

Кастомизация просто бред, Оружие... я не хочу из этого стрелять, все время ищешь что то лучше, но нету. БФ1 кажется сильно современнее, хотя там первая мировая.     I have over 120 hours poured into this game and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s hot garbage. The team balancing is abysmal, the tanks and planes are extremely over powered, and the lack of support and continuous updates by EA and Dice have been a recipe for disaster. Don’t buy this garbage game. It has the worst balancing I’ve ever seen in an FPS game. The game is full of glitches.

    Coming from someone that has played ALL the Battlefield games up until 4, this along with titles such as (BF 1, BF Hardline) was added to my blacklist of not being a real Battlefield game. Those who are long-time players know what I mean.

    Its frustrating, a meatgrinder. Most of the time you are dead. Bombers are extreme Powerfull. Time to kill is too short. 2 of 8 maps are good. Dice did a very bad Job. Ich would give this **** peace of software back, if i could.

    Haha, what a bad game. Had a good time, would i be a beta tester, but this product is not recommended for normal players. To many bugs and issues with this one.

There is only a small selection of maps that get old very fast, especially the open maps that are dominated by snipers and bombers.

    Then theres the store, which while it doesn't include real money element at the minute (obv to avoid neg reviews by game critics at launch) it is clear that they will be there, and as egregious as expected. With the "cosmetic" items currently available with in-game points taking a stupid amount of time to grind for. I've been playing since early access and have just 7500c which is not enough to buy anything bar some face paint. Especially bad when considering the same in-game credits are used for upgrading/progressing vehicles and weapons. It's pretty obvious that the inclusion of different genders/ethnicities for character customization is nothing more than fuel for the cosmetic store, not some noble steps toward "progressiveness".

    The single player is bad. Intolerable writing, forgettable characters and tone deaf Michael Bay style nonsense, with no grounding in historical events. The premise of "Rich untold stories" is laughable, especially when it becomes apparent that they're just stuffed into future conquest maps with some objectives dotted about, that have been held back for the first free "DLC" I'm sure. There are only 3 missions (one is locked until the 4th) Ai is dumb and its just not fun to play, especially on harder difficulties.

    The list goes on and on...

I have nothing against the inclusion of women if it fits history but instead the game molds history to have SJW propaganda crammed in. A spit in the face to the soldiers that actually fought during WW2 from the only company that seems to win “worst company of the year” with ease.

    P.S. they were historically accurate with the ethnicity of the soldiers on both sides but somehow abandon this idea with gender. This doesn’t even count in the fact that the game feels no different than BF 1 from a visual perspective and fails to deliver on gameplay that sadly feels cobbled together.    … Expand

    im gonna be super honest basicaly to play this game super well u have to be rich or sponsored by nvidia and have a 2500 euro computer we are probably more than 5000 having issues with performance we have under 60 fps while we have gtx 1060 1070 1080 and good cpu overall

Fighter air to air action is tedious and incredibly slanted to whomever manages to get behind the enemy, and many other glitches, flaws, idiotic programming choices and poor execution.
    This is clearly an unfinished game of below average quality, as evidenced by current 50% off sale, that was clearly rushed out to publication; 1 out of 10 with single word review of CRAP.    … Expand

Самый главный минус - это баги, они везде. Даже перечислять нет смысла. Купил за 4,5к предзаказ - дебил. Советую подождать полгода, чтобы вышли патчи, дополнения и тд. Пока что бегайте в BF1, BF4 или BattleFront. Сейчас игра говно. Всего доброго!… Expand

Players uncanny ability to find you even when you know they couldn't possibly know you're in a certain spot(hiding to heal, flanking, etc.) Players turning and head shooting you when you're pumping bullets into them. I went to school for CIS(Computer Integrated Systems) and I know there are people out there that are far more advanced in it than I am. Too many coincidences in this game. I will not buy another Battlfield game. The main reason is micromanaging. They are more concerned about being appealing to everyone instead of focusing on the realism of the game and the major playability issues.

    I dont care about the questions of historical accuracy nore am I looking for a true simulator. I do however want a BATTLEFIELD game. I think the mechanics are garbage for a flagship game in a franchise I have loved.

Also, in BF4 you had to be good to be a sniper, understand bullet drops for different guns, in this game they appear to have eliminated bullet drop, sniping is easy, and therefore entire squads are ALL snipers!!!! It feels like an arcade game, not a battlefield game.

    They killed suppression! Suppression is what made the game interesting and prevent fake ass run and gun!

    If you like the game good for you, but if you are a BF player, I suggest waiting to buy the game until they make some critical changes.    … Expand

    Then EA Access came along for £20.

    First game to download with my new 'EA slave pass' - BFV, a whopping 70 gigs, which subsequently needed to be deleted an re-downloaded, when half the menus failed to load, and I was greeted with just black screens most of the time!

    Eventually I jumped into my first few MP games - initial impressions were 'wow', this game looks and sounds amazing! Top marks on that front. Then I realise that owing to me joining the party late, pretty much everyone has much better kit - there were arty strikes, V2 bombs, and all sorts going on!!

    I grind away for match after match, unlocking pointless customizations for my chosen tool of death - wow, I now have a slightly green sight and handle.... erm, woop woop? I get a new pair of GI trousers; I get point to unlock specializations - that appear to have utterly no impact to the weapon whatsoever.

    My player rank over a couple of days in now in double digits, I have unlocked two or three weapons for certain classes, and used in-game currency (that I didn't pay for) to unlock some new support guns - feeling hard done by, as with the exception of one having a bigger belt of ammo - are exactly the same in in-game performance.

    When I finally take stock of the game, I realize, just how little there is too it - 9 MONTHS after release, there are still menus stating "Coming soon" - there's 3 or 4 sights per weapon, no grips, or stock customisations - in a word "limited". I appreciate this isn't BF3 or 4 with all the different points on a weapon to modify - but if Dice/EA are going to spin their narratives on WW2, they could have surly worked more weapon customisations in.

    And the GRIND! I know that these days, EA/Activision/Whoever are making their games in such a way, that purchasing their premium currency becomes the dangling carrot - the rationale they use is that you either spend your free time, or heard earned cash to advance. It just kicks you when you're down, if you're short on time and cannot commit to the grind to unlock the next thing. There seems to have been a huge jump in points needed between player/class/weapon ranks now I'm in double digits on player score.

    The game just feels completely unfinished to me, or at best, an expansion pass to Battlefield 1 - as combining these two titles would probably make one decent game - it's a bit like Hardline.

    As for one of the controversial bits - hearing women screaming in a WW2 battle, just dents what little immersion this game has; it gets to sounding like a drunken hen doo out on the town, and if anything is quite disrespectful to those who fought in the War.

    Battlefield 5 is the Star Wars version of a Battlefield game - if you are a true fan of the predecessors, avoid this game. OR if your curious, get it second hand for less than £20 or via the EA Access.

    It's a solid 3/10 game for this old BF fan.

    Some credentials out the way:

    Firstly, I'm a huge fan of the Battlefield games - the second (or third) PC game I purchased, was Battlefield 1942 - which I played online via 56k dial up (some BT gaming service iirc) or at LAN parties.

    For 1942, I purchased all the expansion passes, and when the epic fan-made Desert Combat came along, I spent many hours gaming with a slightly improved 1MB/s NTL 'broadband' connection.

    When Battlefield 2 came along - it was (and probably still is) the pinnacle of the series for me, and I spent a huge amount of time on it - but never once earned a Purple Heart, which I was quite proud of - considering my play style is to get right into the action (forget that K/D ratio rubbish!). I purchased the expansions, and played a great deal of fan made conversions - even running a server with a clan for a while.

    I skipped 2142, as I was firmly in the camp that the futuristic setting, had no place in Battlefield :-P I then jumped ship to consoles, and although I missed the first iteration of Battlefield on the 360 - I picked the series up again with Bad Company; whilst a bit of a deviation to what I had been used to - it was a welcome return.

    Bad Company 2 was another pinnacle for me - and to this day, hotly contests the fond memories I have of Battlefield 2 on the PC. Battlefield 3 was also a great addition to the series, and had some utterly stunning single player experienced.

    Battlefield 4 - pretty meh, nothing worth remembering, and Battlefield 1 just felt incomplete - though the SP tank missions were ace!    … Expand

    I respect the EA DICE games. But as a person who bought it 2-3 months ago I was razasherov because in this game there is no balance for example I play level 1 with 80 uraniums and the maps are big and you meet these people about 6 times but the problem is that there are a lot of such levels. plus a lot of bugs and gaps. I sincerely hope that in
    BATTLEFIELD VIit's gonna be all right

    There's a big problem with Battlefield V, and it's not because you can't have fun with the multiplayer. It's because of the sheer lack of content. I also need to bring up the lack of innovation. It just feels more like an expansion rather than it's own game, and a very watered down one at that. On a side note, it also offers the worst, shortest and buggiest singleplayer campaign to date.

    I played on a ps4 pro

    Pros :
    -Visual is stunning(PS4 Pro)
    -Liked the acting and the fact that everything is native language
    -Shooting feels great
    -Audio 5.1 was immersive and well mixed
    -I liked the fact that it's a WWII game that doesn't focus on USSR and USA

    Cons:
    -Nav Mesh issues all around the single player campaign. Ennemies flying over fences and cover
    -When you're about to leave the combat area it's not clear (Level Art) There's a HUD taking the whole screen while you're getting shot at.
    -I've been spot through walls by the AI
    -The first three mission (didn't play the 4th one) have too much Stealth element (IMO) I want to shoot stuff!
    -Infinite loading screen after finishing the Tirailleur chapter
    -The title freezed for about 10 seconds during each cinematic
    -Shooting at invisible collisions with the sniper during the tirailleur chapter(LOTS of them)

    I have family members who have fought in WW2 and i feel you dishonour their legacy by distorting the truth.
    If you had branded the game as an alt universe, I could accept that, but you mix fact with fiction and narrate the story as though its truth. I believe you've insulted your user base. I know the effort it takes to    I felt like giving a 0 because this is an insult to history.

    This game is not to my liking at all. I brought it to give it a go and I’m not surprised I’m let down. Sticking to bf4 yet again for another 2 years. It gives such a distaste for any returning bf player. Also can’t ads with mmg or hmg yet in all the other bf games you can. Every time you deploy bipod your a snipers best friend. Such a stupid mechanic. Here’s to bf6 being modern...This game is not to my liking at all. I brought it to give it a go and I’m not surprised I’m let down.     Has a low TTK combined with very bad player visibility. Makes it worse and even more frustrating than COD. Promotes camping, especially with overpowered MMGs that have the accuracy of a laser.

    Considering how good BF3, BF4 & BF1 were, I thought BFV would be at least decent. It's not. The only fun to be had is Iwo Jima, and for a $60 game, that's pathetic.

    In many ways, Battlefield V feels like a big step backwards for the franchise. The campaign is boring and frustrating, multiplayer is unbalanced, and bugs keep popping up in every mode to ruin the experience. The fortification system is a good shakeup, but the good it brings is tempered by the cumbersome and murky Grand Operations. With some patches, balance changes and bug squashing, BFV could be a fantastic game, but at the moment, this soldier needs to go back to basic training.
