    - mostly copies the wrong stuff from other games like COD

    I'm not the biggest FPS fan, but this game really disappointed me. The graphics and animations are awful. The maps are big and lifeless. Big bland surfaces. The player animations are just horrible. Guns feel crap. I can't believe this is a triple AAA title.

    Bugs are the least of it. Shot spread or bloom or whatever you call it is broke. Many things have been stripped out of the game that were in past titles. Destruction is basic and not what it should be.the game is. A mess

    There are no classes. That's right, you know get Apex legends style specialists with abilities such as turrets, shields etc. For those of you saying so what, change is good. There are no weapons. I mean    Wow. I knew the franchise was in big trouble after Battlefield V but man oh man I didn't think they could mess this one up after they learned what works and what doesn't. Where do I begin?
    There are no classes. That's right, you know get Apex legends style specialists with abilities such as turrets, shields etc. For those of you saying so what, change is good. There are no weapons. I mean there's about 12 but you have to play the game for days to make any meaningful progression. So you are stuck with the base M5 for hours and hours with no alternative. Graphically on ps4, it looks like cyberpunk 2077, a blurry hazey mess, even with motion blur and all the camera tricks turned off. Online performance is good, meaning when you get into a server it is not laggy like bf4 was at launch. The nail in the coffin GAME MODES ARE GONE. There are 3 conquest-based game modes now. To play what everyone who's ever played a battlefield game remembers as battlefield you have to use a gimmicky weird app/ menu on the screen called "Portal". Where you can find player created games which somewhat bring back the formula that worked. Menu upon menus upon menus, disgusting UI, easily the worst UI of any app or video game I have ever played. Gone is the simple customization and now you are met with FORTNITE/ apex style of aesthetic character modification. Want to change the attachment on your guns ? oh you have to do that during the match at the very start or else you will get fragged, your loadouts also RESET every game you play.

    Congratulations dice, your greed ruined your brain child. You had a good thing going, even after BF V I had faith you could return your roots (BFBC1-2, BF3-4) but you had to rush this garbage to market. This is nowhere near the level of polish that a 80 dollar AAA title should have. It seems like there were too many cooks in the kitchen with this one and whoever was in charge of UI needs to be jailed. Bring back classes, bring back classic game modes without the "portal" and allow players to make their own game modes without using a PC. This whole game is a mess, please don't buy this. I bought it on sale for 60 bucks tax in and I feel like I have better off burning my money than contributing the the cancer that is EA Dice.    … Expand

    -teambalance is horrible. its always one side stomping the other to the fullest and my teammates feel like bots. 0 reaction to pings. they never revive anyone. if i had a gun on my head and had to bet my life i would say they arent able to dress themselves in real life. thats how bad they are. dice doesnt really seem to care about these problems. they rather fix xp-lobbies so people have to grind their ass off for weeks to unlock 5 guns. how dare they to get weapons and gear that should be way easier to unlock? that game doesnt feel like "we are not making a campaign to focus on multiplayer". this feels like they tried to make as much money as they can with low costs. i wish we could revive bf3 or bf4. and i dont mean that half-assed portalmode.    … Expand

    Что самое обидное, я полагаю DICE и Electronic Arts намереваются доить эту безрогую козу десятилетие, как Bethesda свой Fallout 76!
    Обидно за серию. Если кто хочет новый и настоящий Battlefield, эту хрень не качайте и вообще не поддерживайте. Иначе ждать нам Battlefield 6 не дождаться!

    This game has no soul to it. The weapon selection is very small, no classes but lame "specialist" that some how fight on both sides. The maps are big sure, but feel empty and no cover. Also so scoreboard, voice chat, leaning. But the two things that make me want to break things are all the loading cut scenes and end game taunts.......wtf

    I cannot stress the disappointment I have with this game. I am never going to preorder another game again, and I really think the refund for a game should be revamped and be more modern. And you got to realize that you pay a LOT of MONEY for a really small game full of problems with errors with lack of things that are in EVERY FPS GAME really weak balanced during the matches sometimes you fight against a lot of vehicles while you side have ZERO vehicles for more than 10 minutes, Bad destruction, few and bad weapons the list goes on and worst. IfThis game is REALLY bad. And you got to realize that you pay a LOT of MONEY for a really small game full of problems with errors with lack of things that are in EVERY FPS GAME really weak balanced during the matches sometimes you fight against a lot of vehicles while you side have ZERO vehicles for more than 10 minutes, Bad destruction, few and bad weapons the list goes on and worst.     This is not battlefield. I'm taking my copy to trade in and get something else.
    Do not believe they will fix this game, the whole thing is a disaster. I'll be going back to battlefield 1 and 4.

    I loved this game, even on a ps4 the game manages to keep a cool graphics and an exceptional performance, running at 1080p and 60 fps at times, I was expecting a 1080p 30 fps and look there, dice knew how to make a port descending from a ps5 to ps4 game. The multiplayer is amazing, even with smaller maps the war is still huge, the portal mode is super fun and genius, the hazard zone isI loved this game, even on a ps4 the game manages to keep a cool graphics and an exceptional performance, running at 1080p and 60 fps at times, I was expecting a 1080p 30 fps and look there, dice knew how to make a port descending from a ps5 to ps4 game. I only want to play breakthrough but for some reason (maybe a bug) there are no players. If I do get into a game, it is always the same two maps. You also have few choices for guns and vehicles. You can't pick a server to play on unless you do portal, whichI expected a lot from this game, especially for the price. It is so not worth it. Match-making sucks, It is so hard to find a game. I only want to play breakthrough but for some reason (maybe a bug) there are no players. If I do get into a game, it is always the same two maps. You also have few choices for guns and vehicles. You can't pick a server to play on unless you do portal, which for someone in Southeast Asia, you only get 4 servers with good enough ping. I wasted my money on this. Played COD warzone for last 2 years ( not a cod fan) but game play is cool. game is fairly polished, no major bugs. BF on the other hand looks like home studio production. Например, играл я на открытии за медика, все точки были у врага, я реснулся и к тому времени как я добежал до ближайшей для меня точки, ц1, мы уже потеряли сотню, так ещё и меня слил рандомный снайпер с 800 метров. Может в компании играть интереснее, не пробывал, так как ни один мой друг не хочет покупать эту парашу за фул прайс.

    This game is by far one of the greatest disappointments of all time. After the great trailers I was really looking forward to play this game. But after paying 70€ I can say, it wouldn't even be worth playing if it was free. If you want to play a great Battlefield game, go back to Battlefield 4 or Battlefield 1, even maybe Battlefield V.

Or when no one notices an enemy player being stood in the middle of your team due to having the same skins as your squad mates. Also, the end game specialists dialog lines are just out right cringe.

    Barely any guns in the base game, portal has had most of the guns from previous titles taken out (probably to make it seem like bf2042 isn’t shockingly lacking compared to previous instalments).

    Gun unlock system is just a COD clone. Gone are the Battlefield days where if you wanted a specific sniper rifle, so you’d use a sniper class. I personally loved this system. Now you use anything and get everything purely by level in up. Maps are almost too large, it’s a sprinting simulator half the time. Hit registration is poor (you’ll shoot between the targets legs and get hit markers, but shoot them in the elbow and you won’t get a hit) Terrible performance with a 3080TI has now thankfully been patched by nvidia (pre-patch, on lowest settings and FFR on @2k res, I was getting 40-90 fps, post-patch I am now thankfully getting 75-130 in fully maxed out bar ray-tracing, FRR on).

    This is just off the top of my head while taking a poo, I’m sure there is plenty I missed. Gutted about this one as always loved Battlefield, with the exception of Hardline. Even tho bf5 and bf1 weren’t great bf examples, I still enjoyed them lot.    … Expand

    With my daughter we have been waiting for this game. But today after 20 minutes play we went back to BF4...This game is a huge disappointment. Lot of old and nice features are missing and we can play good TDMs only via Portal which is our favorite part of the old games. When you do spawn, it could be directly in the middle of fire and will be killed almost instantly. The occasional inability to revive or be revived. Another strange feature is using “specialist” instead of the traditional class selection. In the future I’d like to see a TDM introduced as well. As the game can be overwhelming to new users in the larger scale combat modes and much slower paced. In the larger maps you will spend a lot of time time walking long distances to get to objectives because the pre match inability to fill vehicles. Only allowing one player to enter the selected vehicle and dropping the rest of the players on foot. Leaving them to try and find a ride(rare that other player wait and let you in) or walk the entire map to the different objectives. The portal feature is neat. Allowing a nostalgic feel in reliving some of the other BF favorites. Yet again though the lack of weapons, attachments and lack of maps available start to hinder some of this gameplay as well. I would consider myself a Battlefield enthusiast with over 500hrs + logged into BF4 and another 300+ in BF3 not to mention many hours in all the other BF games combined. Overall I’m genuinely disappointed in this game and may unfortunately label this game my least favorite BF game of all time. It’s a huge miss for the community with a game that had/has potential to be another fun Battlefield game. Hopefully this game can pull a 180 with some patches and dlc content. Otherwise this game has officially lost my interest less then 2 days into my experience… Expand

    Graphics are terrible, game play is clunky, tiny selection of guns. Feels like they took all of what made Battlefield great and got rid of it or cut it down. Feels like a cheap knockoff of Battlefield, do not waste your money on this trash.

    Went from EA sub(canceled in December) to buy it cheap(now). Still crashing to desktop(moore then half the time, tbh alot moore). Still maxing 100 fps with best of what you can buy @ 1080p.(consistent) Still a stutter fest when it works. Shoots don't register if there is a lot of players(close by). Not a single improvement for performance    A year later....(just performance)

    so far, my experience with the game has been pleasant, there are some texture bugs, the game is lacking a lot, and the maps are extremely open and there aren't many covers, but overall I've been very happy with it.

Error every time loading the game. Once you load the game finally, you get to watch as each specialist you play as, barely loads in. No hit registration. Barely can revive someone. There's like 6 guns, 2 are good. Everyone ends up using the exact same weapons. Vehicles are op. There's no point to the "specialists" battlefield needs classes. 7 maps. All **** suck. Poorly designed. Large but empty map design. No cover. Barely any destruction. No details 0 effort into making a good map. These **** towers with 1 way to the top?!?!? 10 years ago you could take down the entire building. Now you can't even shoot anyone. I understand that a lot the the problems they can fix with updates. That's not the point. The point is it should have never released in this state. It's so bad they clearly were aware how bad this game is, and refused to fix it. The **** THE HOVERCRAFT. The call in system has ruined battlefield. What ever team has the most vehicles, wins. **** stupid.
    Each vehicle takes like 8 rockets to destroy and it doesn't matter, because of this instant call in system.

    22 weapons?!?!?! I remember battlefield 1, when there was like 20 guns in each class. Remember. Classes. Progression is a joke. Most of the attachments are the exact same stats so there's no point to most of them. The user interface is sad. You can't ping the map? No scoreboard? No zoom on the map. Trying to spawn after dying to a specific zone, and just simply trying to click on b2 is so difficult. Barely no destruction in this game. Yet 10 years ago you could take down skyscrapers. Large towers, destroyed like literally any building you see, you could destroy. Like this **** game. Every single thing about this game is a pathetic excuse of a video game. So disappointing.     It is strange. It almost seems like none of the people who worked on the previous games are still working for this company. It also appears that they lost any info as to how to work with their own game engine. On top of that is is like they have no creative direction regarding the character creation / back story equation.     This is NOT a Battlefield. If this game wasn't developped has a bf , i would be a 5 maybe.
    Even Hardline was better

    The game freezes, lags, the skins are disgusting, there are no cool serious skins such as on the player cards

    Battlefield 2042 adds little in the new department and takes away a lot from the old. Without leaning onto the presupposed Portal community, having in mind the lack of an actual campaign and overall lack of technical stability, you have very little reason to be interested in Battlefield 2042

    If you’re looking to enjoy the next Battlefield title, turn back now. With the next patch not slated to arrive for another month, and the next content update to release some time after that, it’s going to be a while before 2042 can earn the right to be called a true Battlefield game. It’s best to wait until the smoke clears and DICE fixes any major bugs (maybe even wait for it to go on discount) before spending $70 on this game.
