This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As I mentioned in my base-game review, the naval combat in Odyssey is super fun. Not realistic, not deep, just pure fun, and sometimes (most of the times actually) it's what makes a game enjoyable. The new flamethrower ability for your ship was a great addition, even if it's sole one.

Also, for me the quests in taking down the Tempest's forces was a nice touch. The investigation, taking down her operations (really went for a full assassin playstyle here, as Darius suggested), the twist at the end, really nice.

I want to get into the final part, and maybe the most controversial, the actual story and ending of this game. I give my full respect to Ubisoft for giving a heterosexual-only outcome of this story. Considering the whole politically correctness/wokeness present in AAA western games, this may be the last "of its kind" (where only a heterosexual option remains). It's an RPG, but it's Kassandra's story, you only *influence* her actions, but not directly control them through your choices. She has a story, a destiny, a bloodline to secure and (maybe) a sexual preference. For me, this romance & Kass and Natakas having a kid was great and added more depth.

Yes, it has it flaws. Character development (an issue present in the base game as well) is far from good, Natakas may not be the best partner for Kassandra (but I sense a double-standard here from most critics) but my rating still stands, because it is one of the last good old-school games when it comes to views: an attractive female character, an heterosexual relationship. As I've heard from a friend, maybe by playing as Alexios feels even more realistic.

Shadow Heritage is slightly more fun to play than Hunted was, but some weird narrative decisions undo a lot of the character progression from the main campaign and totally expose the illusion of player choice.

With this second episode, The Legacy of the First Blade knifes all the roleplay Ubisoft spent dozens of hours to build in a three-hour short and highly questionable story. Even the great battleships and a brand new weapon will not save Assassin's Creed Odyssey from this wrongly twisted cliffhanger that might disappoint most adventurers out there.
