Legacy of the First Blade's second episode, Shadow Heritage, is a familiar but engaging next chapter of Odyssey.

Shadow Heritage is more Assassin's Creed Odyssey and I'm absolutely going to take it as we wade through an AC-less 2019. The episodic delivery system is a ballsy move that's somewhat paid off, though I wish it took more grounded risks.

"Even with the "fix" for the complaints about the ending, you are still forced down this exact same path anyway. I did everything to be negative to the character I was supposed to woo and yet the story didn't change at all."

AC is a universe, not an RPG where you can do whatever you want. Why even play an AC game if this is your goal? This isn't some mythical Sparta hack and slash; it's part of an expansive universe and the path it "forces you down" is necessary for the series to make actual sense. For what it's worth it's pretty cringe to be playing a "bad guy" play through on a game like this.

Now, onto the DLC. The gameplay is pretty well the same and locations are the same, so I won't touch on that. It makes the map feel more whole and lively. This is where the story gets really good, so much so that it overshadows much of the main storyline. I wont' say how, but this part gets really fun and is a must play for AC lore-heads.

This DLC is fine. Nothing extraordinary, but the story is nice to play through.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Story Arc 1 - Legacy of the First Blade: Episode 2 seems to be in contrast in tone with the rest of the game. ThisAssassin’s Creed Odyssey: Story Arc 1 - Legacy of the First Blade: Episode 2 seems to be in contrast in tone with the rest of the game. This episode is all about developing a relationship, which doesn’t make sense in the grand scheme of Odyssey. The villain of this expansion is interesting, albeit not nearly as interesting as the first. This does a good job of setting up the final expansion of this story arc, with quite the cliffhanger ending. Expand

Who exactly at Ubi thought this was a good idea?
