Jan 11, 2016While the core mechanics remain functionally the same, that (even more) exotic setting and (lesser known) time period, brilliant environment design and brief, but effective, narrative all combine to make something that offers just that little bit more.

Jan 12, 2016Assassin's Creed: Chronicles - India is a product that's better than China. The developers are experimenting with their game and as a result Arbaaz's adventures are more interesting that Shao Jun's story. It's not as good as the almost perfect Mark of the Ninja but you can clearly see a step in the right direction. If you liked the previous game you'll be happy with the new Chronicles.
-
Jan 11, 2016Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India improves almost everything from the first chapter, expanding the gameplay and making the experience more compelling.
-
Jan 16, 2016It's basically Chronicles: China with a new skin. A solid sequel to a solid 2D platformer.
-
Jan 21, 2016For the most part, I enjoyed my time with AC: India and look forward to the final entry in the Chronicles Trilogy, AC: Russia.
-
Jan 11, 2016Assassin's Creed Chronicles India is a 2.5D platformer adventure game in a league of its own. You can't compare it with its larger brother, but the low price guarantees good value for money, with challenging sections and replayability.
-
Jan 11, 2016It's a step further from its predecessor, as it adds a bit of replay value to the formula. On the other hand, the main gameplay issues are still there.
-
Jan 11, 2016It steals elements from the classic Prince of Persia games. AC India requires some patience and its focus on stealth and platforming gives it an old school charm that diminishes its technical flaws.
-
Feb 2, 2016It's a decent way to spend some time in-between the bigger releases, though Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India is ultimately too superficial to make a lasting impression. A promising setting ultimately isn't enough to keep this 2D platformer interesting.
-
Jan 19, 2016Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India makes some vast improvements over its predecessor in terms of style and gameplay while providing challenging 2D puzzles, but still lacks an engaging narrative.
-
Jan 16, 2016Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India is a good 2.5D stealth game that reminds us the classic Prince of Persia, unfortunately its bad combat system and linear levels result on a experience far from perfection. This spin-off will be enjoyed by the fans of the series but for the rest of players maybe will be a little boring and repetitive.
-
Jan 14, 2016I enjoyed Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India, but it wasn't different enough from China to suggest that playing both is a necessity. If Russia is similarly indistinct, I'd have to recommend players simply pick the country that interests them the most.
-
Jan 12, 2016Gameplay-wise it's better than Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India, but it's also very similar. If you like stealth-based games, this could be an interesting option.
-
Jan 12, 2016India is a new entry in the platformer and stealth themed Chronicles series, and as its first iteration it mixes a lot of nice gameplay elements with interesting results.
-
Jan 11, 2016Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India is a good experience, but is everything rather than perfect. It's cheap, and it's fun, but the control system is not reactive and the gameplay should be more fluid.
-
Jan 11, 2016The lands of the Taj Mahal have charm. It's great to climb this complex of palaces, busy streets, gardens and bazaars.
-
Jan 11, 2016A simple and effective game, but missing some new features and variety.
-
Jan 18, 2016The absolute beauty of the painting-like art style also helped.
-
CD-ActionMar 30, 2016Instead of building on ACC: China’s formula, Climax Studios delivered more of the same, just more annoying. [03/2016, p.66]
-
Jan 19, 2016Despite being a side-show from the annual attractions, it’s still business as usual. Standard stealth with a null story amidst an interesting and unventured historical period. Like me, that last part may be enough to entice. Just don’t expect the former to feel as novel.
-
Jan 14, 2016A perfect example of "woulda, coulda, shoulda." There are so many highlights glinting out from this pile of mediocrity; if only the developers could've tied them all together, then we'd be treated to a more vivid and consistent display.
-
Games Master UKMar 19, 2016Wastes the potential of its predecessor with its wonky difficulty curve and frequent frustrations. [March 2016, p.78]
-
Play UKFeb 24, 2016Sumptuous visuals disguise a somewhat lacking and repetitive game. [Issue#266, p.66]
-
Feb 9, 2016If you weren’t won over by AC Chronicles: China, AC Chronicles: India probably won’t change your mind. But if you want a game with some solid stealth gameplay and a sizeable smattering of timed, platforming bits, you probably won’t be too disappointed (the low price of admission also helps).
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaFeb 2, 2016Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India does little to curry favour from fans left unimpressed by the last game. [February 2015, p72]
-
Feb 2, 2016Assassin's Creed Chronicles India offers a pleasant 2D stealth-action game, but never manages to go much further.
-
Jan 31, 2016This game does exactly what its predecessor did, which is not a lot of fun. The key character is too over the top and it makes us feel even more strongly about the Assassin's Creed franchises need of being renewed.
-
Jan 26, 2016By remaining focused and paring down the extra content, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India is a stealth game through and through.
-
Jan 22, 2016Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India looks authentic, but has lackluster audio; the story just doesn't compare to previous Creed games; the gameplay has its moments but not enough of them; and, well, China was just more of a bad-ass example, and didn't make you pace yourself through tedious segments. It leaves me wondering just where the final chapter of the Chronicles saga, Russia, will end up when it debuts in a few weeks.
-
Jan 16, 2016It's a stylish game with fun platforming, smooth combat and mostly good stealthy bits - and a definite improvement on its underwhelming predecessor.
-
Jan 15, 2016If you’re a big fan of Assassin’s Creed, or enjoyed ACC: China, then you can pick this up without hesitation. It’s more of the same gameplay-wise, but completely different story and setting-wise.
-
Jan 13, 2016Visually interesting and competently made for the most part, but the novelty of a 2D Assassin’s Creed is already beginning to wear off.
-
Jan 11, 2016Ubisoft definitely took a leap of faith with creating the Chronicles series, one that unfortunately didn’t land them safely in a haystack.
-
Jan 11, 2016Either way, ACC: India manages to keep the stealth gameplay fun, while the open combat still leaves room for improvement.
-
Jan 19, 2016Assassin's Creed Chronicles India should have improved China's ideas and China's gameplay. But there's nothing really new in this second installment. The game is nothing better, nothing prettier and it still carries some very irritating problems.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKMar 7, 2016Even an elephant chase can't save this from incoherent mediocrity. [March 2016, p.94]
-
GameTrailersJan 21, 2016Stiflingly boring.
-
Jan 20, 2016Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India is a game that should have everything going for it with its great visuals and setting, established world and an interesting protagonist. Instead we're left with an average game with a bland narration that's frustrating to control and play. It's truly such a shame.
-
Jan 11, 2016Periods of fun stealth play aren't enough to rescue the second entry in the Chronicles saga from being a forgettable, average platformer.
-
Jan 11, 2016The beautiful landscapes of India and a promising sense of movement aren't enough to save Chronicles India from hamstrung combat and tedious stealth. Close, but missed the ledge.
-
Jan 11, 2016The dialogue is dull, the art style doesn't look good at all, and the game just doesn't have much appeal. It's certainly not bad, it's just so bang average that you'll have seen it all before.
