    I would whole heartedly recommend buying this complete edition, instead of outdated original. Original was amazing, until this version came out. Now, this is the best version of this game.

    You don´t always need a full remake to make a beloved game feel fresh again. But considering some of the recent remasters on the market, Alan Wake´s rejuvenation looks rather dull - especially on XBOX Series X and PlayStation 5. Anyway, if you´ve never experienced the mysteries of Bright Falls before, your money´s still well spent.

    I bought this game to see what the hype was all about. I was hugley disappointed by this game however. The gameplay consists mainly of walking from point A tobpoint B. I really dont understand all the positive reviews, people gave this game. The bad game design is obvious too me, so i have no idea why someone would like this game.

    Alan Wake Remastered is a million times better than what I thought it would be. In the modern times, many devs usually launch the exact same game with the word remastered at the end (and sometimes it can look worse), but this one is a full-on remaster with better textures, lightning, character models and facial animations. The voices are exactly the same, but that's amazing because itAlan Wake Remastered is a million times better than what I thought it would be.     Beautiful, mysterious, at times even scary game. Would recommend, if you have never played it before.

    I would not recommend this game. The controls are atrocious. The button to aim is the same button for the flashlight which causes the flashlight to run out when you don't need it. Also the dodge controls are very award to use.

    I played Alan Wake for the first time this year, and found the gameplay outdated. The combat system is basically the same throughout the entire game, with a small variety of enemies and upgrades.
    The story is quite good, so are the characters. The dark atmosphere is great, and that what makes this game good, but not excellent.

    In conclusion, Alan Wake Remastered can be considered a great game by a (relatively) small people who loves this genre, but objectively is just a quite good horror survival game.
    I'm sure AW 2 will be far better.    … Expand

    An excellent remaster, but the face of the main character was not finalized where you were when I went through the original part in Steam :(

    Clearly inspired by Max Payne, but without anything that made Max Payne good. The narration is flat or in fact particularly interesting at all, and the combat is absolutely awful.
    The combat is frustrating and awkward, have to shine torches on enemies to weaken them but torch runs out of batteries? You get weapons but they do little damage until enemies are weakened by torch, makes    Clearly inspired by Max Payne, but without anything that made Max Payne good. The narration is flat or in fact particularly interesting at all, and the combat is absolutely awful.

You get weapons but they do little damage until enemies are weakened by torch, makes multiple enemies frustrating and eventually torch batteries and gun ammo runs out, but enemies seem to continue spawning. In chapter 2 I had to take on about 12 enemies at once, but ran out of torch batteries and gun ammo, my stamina ran out so even dodging attacks became impossible. I finally ran to a place with a generator to produce light to give me a safe space, but the enemies were so fast an relentless I couldn't activate the generator. I spent about 4o minutes at that section before deciding to stop playing. Nothing about this game is fun.

    Audio issues: I spent my first half hour of the game constantly tweaking the audio sliders because the cinematics were very quiet despite being max, and the sounds effects and music of the game drowned out the in-game audio, before I gave up and just turned on the subtitles as it was impossible to hear audio correctly.    … Expand

For a long time afterwards I frequently heard about how celebrated it was and how Remedy were brilliant game developers. I was very eager to experience a Remedy game for myself, but unfortunately Quantum Break was an Xbox exclusive that underperformed. Thankfully, Remedy released Control in 2019 and II didn't get the chance to experience Alan Wake when it was first released in 2010. For a long time afterwards I frequently heard about how celebrated it was and how Remedy were brilliant game developers. I was very eager to experience a Remedy game for myself, but unfortunately Quantum Break was an Xbox exclusive that underperformed. Thankfully, Remedy released Control in 2019 and I wholeheartedly enjoyed that game (it was easily one of my top 10 games for that year). When Remedy released the second DLC expansion for Control in 2020 entitled AWE, I was excited to learn that AWE would connect Control with Alan Wake and I would finally have the chance to experience a smidgeon of the overall vibe of Remedy's masterpiece. AWE turned out to be a fantastic cross-over, albeit a little cryptic, but it ultimately delivered what it promised.

    When Remedy announced that it would be releasing a remastered version of Alan Wake this year I was pretty ecstatic to be able to finally play the actual game, and now I can finally share what I think of Remedy's opus.    … Expand

    Одна из моих любимых игр теперь с улучшенной графикой. Разработчики подошли очень ответственно к созданию ремастера. Багов не встречал, а все нарекания можно отнести и к оригиналу (если такие есть)

    That was very fun, and a cool story to live out. Just wasn't sure at anytime what was going on with Alan (was he nuts, was he dead, was he dreaming, etc. etc. etc.), but it was so good that I kept trudging along in the dark to try and figure it out. Amazing....

    This game was a pleasant surprise and it turned out to be far better than I expected (I haven't played the original game). It looks like a horror game but it is far more than that because of its interesting story delivered in a cinematic way, which kept me going until the end.

    Partiendo de la base de que es el remaster de un juego que de hace tiempo sabemos que es muy bueno, no le he encontrado nada que me vuele la cabeza o me sorprenda conociendo ya el original. Es obvio que visualmente se ve mejor, pero tampoco es la repanocha. El propio juego en sí es muy entretenido, la premisa en la que se basa y el desarrollo que se hace durante el mismo de toda la trama,Partiendo de la base de que es el remaster de un juego que de hace tiempo sabemos que es muy bueno, no le he encontrado nada que me vuele la cabeza o me sorprenda conociendo ya el original. Es obvio que visualmente se ve mejor, pero tampoco es la repanocha. El propio juego en sí es muy entretenido, la premisa en la que se basa y el desarrollo que se hace durante el mismo de toda la trama, la manera de contarla (siendo que yo no soy muy fan de los narradores) y demás es muy original y diferente.
    El doblaje es un punto positivisimo, al menos en la versión en castellano.
    El juego es un imprescindible, tienes que jugarlo al menos una vez si te gusta esta industria y disfrutas de los videojuegos. A pesar de darle un 8, se encontraría a mitad de camino del 9, pues es un gran juego pero como remaster la verdad que simplemente es un lavado flojo de cara y poco más.    … Expand

O jogo é incrível, joguei no Xbox 360 inclusive tenho em mídia física, joguei no Xbox One também, passeia anos admirando esse jogo, pra mim sempre foi um dos melhores jogos de todos os tempos, a história sempre foi perfeita, as DLC que tem pra implementar mais o jogo, e dar aquela atenção pra concluir o arco, quando fiquei sabendo que irá ter o Remaster, fui e fiz a pré venda na hora no meu playstation 4, Microsoft sempre cagou para os teus jogos, deixava de lado os ótimos jogos que tinha, mas Sam Lake reviveu com esse ótimo Remaster, agradeço a ele por trazer esse jogo para todos que nunca jogaram, o jogo tá ótimo.… Expand

    As a huge fan of the legendary Sam Lake, I highly regretted not playing Alan Wake on my Xbox360 when I had the chance... thankfully this remaster granted me the chance to experience such lovely game. Everything is beautifully designed;gameplay,narration,audio design,etc. Highly recommend.

    Great game with amazing atmosphere and aesthetic. This game really encapsulates a Twin Peaks/Ozark vibe that really sells Brightfalls to be an actual place. Gameplay is fun and the story is intriguing but has a lacklustre ending. Characters are fun and likeable, each possessing a camp charm. DLC is intresting and nice bit of extra content.

    A few nitpicks I have is that Alan's stamina is    Great game with amazing atmosphere and aesthetic.     A few nitpicks I have is that Alan's stamina is fairly annoying as running for 5 seconds results in about 10/15 seconds of resting which also results in making the dodge mechanic useless. Igniting a Flare sends the camera into a disorientating 360 degree when surrounded by enemies, which is cool initially but gets tedious quite quickly.

    Nitpicks aside, this game is definitely worth a go for it's unique story and gameplay.    … Expand

    This is basically same, what Resident Evil 4 did with Ultimate HD Edition. No ghosting effect anymore, better textures, better draw distance, improved cutscenes, better foliage. Absolutely the best version of this game from now on.

    Gioco discreto. Trama interessante, ma gameplay piuttosto ripetitivo. Combattimenti poco vari, nemici praticamente tutti uguali. E purtroppo... Non fa paura, come dovrebbe un videogame horror. Un punto in più perchè ai tempi dell'uscita sicuramente aveva un impatto migliore.

It's amazing game, but both previous versions were pretty outdated and this game deserved remaster more than anything. This remaster has Better ground textures, better textures on literally everything, better lighting, better draw distance, better vegetation, better cutscenes (still not perfect, but it's 2010 game, what do you expect?), no ghosting effect anymore.     Thank you Remedy for bringing back Alan Wake!!! One of the last video game developers, who actually are trying to innovate/do something different. Extreme hype for Alan Wake 2!

    Alan Wake is fine but it feels like it could've been so much more. The gameplay is good in short bursts but the levels are so bloated that I get annoyed when I'm forced to do more useless things before the chapter ends. The movement is bad and the dialogue between the characters is also really grating. I like the stuff with the darkness and the manuscript pages but I never got hooked onAlan Wake is fine but it feels like it could've been so much more.     Jogo aceitável, história confusa mas nada que uma pesquisada não resolva, mas, tem muitos problemas de performance, principalmente no último capítulo, tinha momentos de travamentos, tela azul (principalmente nas dlcs) e quando não travava ficava 10 fps por alguns segundos, deviam ter trabalhado mais nisso.

    Alan Wake Remastered is basically the same game that came out in 2010 with its pros and cons remaining intact. If you're a fan or want more context as to what Control's AWE DLC was all about, it might be worthwhile. Otherwise, it's best saved for an on-sale pickup.
