Jul 21, 2022The english dubbing and the storytelling are amazing, and the game is hilarious

Jun 30, 2022A well written mystery Visual Novel with memorable characters. If you like Spike Chunsoft VNs , or any VN really, you cant go wrong. Its a bit tongue in cheek and stumbles in some parts being awkward, but it adds to its charm. This isnt trying to be a AAA game (thank god). Its great, and so is the sequel so far.

Dec 24, 2021This game is awesome! I felt like a real detective solving the case. The plot is solid, with lots of unexpected twists and turns. There are a few jokes here and there too, so you definitely won't get bored. Though the game was made with Unity, it looks great and performs surprisingly well. Load screens are almost non-existent: usually it takes less than 1 second for a process to complete.

Jul 8, 2021I can't say it's a masterpiece, especially comparing to The Nonary Games. This games lacks gameplay, and also some actions scenes look strange...very strange. But, like always for Spike Chunsoft, the plot just does it.

Apr 29, 2020If you like anything with a good story, you will love it. Don't expect too much about interactivity and somnium scenes, as you will only have to follow predefined paths. But my! It's the fist visual novel I play and what a game !!! Even in movies, I've never seen a scenario which is so deep while still being coherent and understandable. Definitely deserves 10/10

Nov 22, 2020If strange but boring is up your alley, then get this. I couldn't even get very far in the demo because it just wasn't interesting, or fun, Iturned it off com0letely confused as to why it gets rated so high. Nothing was giving me any incentive to carry on.

Feb 17, 2020Good SC-FI story. Not perfect.Better than average level.
There are 5 story line. All of them are good.
Action scenes is horrible. -
Feb 17, 2020Just a great visual interactive novel mystery game all around with fun 3rd person escape the room puzzle types of portions in the game. Definitely recommend.
-
Feb 17, 2020The absolute best characters I have ever seen in a video game along with the greatest story. Not too much gameplay in it, but it completely makes up for it.

Feb 16, 2020Made an account just to try to counter the negative review bomb this game is getting. This game is AMAZING.

Feb 12, 2020Really compelling and brilliantly told murder mystery story. A great intro to Uchikoshi's works with a 10/10 ending
-
Feb 11, 2020I'll keep it short. A great game from the creator of Zero Escape with a nice story and characters. Also it may be a small line but as a gay guy myself I love the positive LGBTQ+ message.

Feb 11, 2020Created an accout just for fighting with bombed reviews.
If you tried this game you will know this new masterpiece which created by Kotaro Uchikoshi is much greater than those poor reviews.
The ending of story was totally shocked me, I can give a full positive just for scenario.

Jan 7, 2022When the story hits some of its high points, AI: The Somnium Files is really good, and feels like the same kind of high 999 gave… but it is largely crippled by just how slow and repetitious it all is. Random slapstick and outright unrealistic scenes draws players out very quickly from the attempt at being a serious plot. It goes nowhere fast, and the whiplash between attempts at humour and serious moments are too ham-fisted. The overall plot could easily be cut by more than half, and the overall experience would be better for it.

Playstation Official Magazine UKOct 22, 2019Superbly voice acted, and with great-looking animation and environments, AI: The Somnium Files is a decadent production giving you one of the best videogame detective mysteries this generation. [Issue#168, p.78]

Oct 17, 2019A murder mystery that is masterfully told to keep your eyes on the screen until the very end. The visuals are lacking when it comes to the environments, but you quickly forget about them when you discover what plot twist is introduced next.
