The game is repetitive. That is the main problem. For the first few hours it's interesting and fun, although you shouldn't expect much from the story. The rotating city mechanic makes the combat scenarios interesting, but that really is the only draw for the game, and after a while it gets repetitive and boring. The characters are super annoying and you will find yourself mashing X to get through cut scenes and on screen dialog. The cut scene graphics (although rare) are nice and so are the character models, but the on screen depiction of the city is blurred and lacks any fine detail, plus the various buildings that make up your weapons are all pretty much different color rectangles. Upgrading your city is fun for the first ten minutes, then you run out of space and just have to keep improving existing structures which only changes their base attributes. Also, you eventually start managing multiple cities, but again, they're all basically the same, with you building the same stuff, fighting the same enemies, and ....yeah... very repetitive. I got the game from GameFly and have enjoyed it the past few days (about 5 hours total) in small 10-30 minute doses (they keep getting progressively shorter). But I wouldn't recommend buying it for full price.

If you are at all interested in tower defense this is a fun game. Although the game is riddled with questionable design choices I have found myself absorbed for hours at a time. Very rare for me. There is always something else to do (upgrade my cities, manage my people, gain experience, etc). Very addictive game play. Is it repetitive? Absolutely. Is there too much meaningless dialogue. If you are at all interested in tower defense this is a fun game. Poorly designed upgrade trees? Indeed. Too easy? Yes. But despite all this I enjoyed it. The game is a relaxing strategy game...no crazy surprises. Just laid back fun. A thing that is becoming rare in today's gaming landscape of AAA showiness. I agree with everything the other reviewer (DanteAlighieri) on here said. The game's no masterpiece. But its unique. If you are at all interested in the concept you will likely enjoy. Buy it (around $10 on amazon right now). Support the developer. And maybe they can make a sequel that fixes all the problems with this game. There is potential to be had here. 8/10 Expand

Irritating dialogue overshadows a unique blend of gameplay elements.

Aegis of Earth has potential, but it fails to deliver an engaging experience. It's not a bad game, but it's a good choice of you've played all the other main tower defense games.

Interesting variation of classic tower defense with a well planned rotation concept.
