I am a big fan of Megaman series. 20XX was a disappointment for me. Despite being a new gen game, 20xx does not deliver anything that feels superior to Megaman series, which is a shame really. Animation and graphic is just fine. Character Designs looks ugly though. Story is basically nothing. Game mechanic works like Megamen X. Despite being a new gen game, 20xx does not deliver anything that feels superior to Megaman series, which is a shame really. Animation and graphic is just fine. Character Designs looks ugly though. Story is basically nothing. Game mechanic works like Megamen X. However, you will have only 1 life, if you die, you have to restart from everything. I don't think this system suits the style. For me, it became repetitive real fast. Moreover, the special powers obtained from boss are the same for both characters. Unlike, Megaman X4+ that Zero will get his special power in sword. Boss battles sucks, Sometimes, your size will shrink, it is not good idea at all. bosses designs are bad also, like a child drawing. BGMs are also inferior to Megamen too. The only thing that surpass Megamen is that it has COOP online, so you could play with a friend. Other systems like buying health or equipment are just small gimmicks.

In sum, the game is fun for a short 3-4 hrs time. Nothing here feels beating Megamen X series. For a game that came out not long ago, if you can't beat the games that were release 10-20 years ago. I have nothing to say. For those who are interested in this kind of game, buy Megamen X 1-2 collections first, and if you still urge for more Megamen X, then you may consider this game, but my suggestion is only buy it at very hard sale and don't expect anything good from it.

20XX’s physics are almost a perfect recreation of a certain blue bomber, but the roguelike elements don’t always work as they should. The procedurally generated levels don’t have the same spark as Capcom’s offerings, and its permadeath is an acquired taste.

A fresh take on the Mega Man X formula, 20XX delivers great run-and-gun platforming in a modern context.

In the end, 20XX may not spin a tale warning us humans of a robotic future (or feature robots continuously wondering why they fight), but the gameplay here can't be denied: this is the spiritual Mega Man X sequel you've been waiting for. If that sounds like music to your ears, you owe it to yourself to give the game a try! For everlasting peace!
