I really wanted to like 2064 and had high hopes after seeing some of the trailers. Sadly, the ads for the game are more enjoyable than the game itself!

The characters (to the extent they are developed) are very two dimensional.

I would skip this game and save your money.

Did anyone really try when they made this? Overall you can understand there was an idea, but after playing it is obvious that at some point everyone just quit caring.

I didn't find the game enjoyable.
It was slow-paced, the characters were not entertaining and the story was bland.
Not really a game for me, and I've enjoyed literal walking simulators like Esther and Firewatch.

I usually support Indy projects. But this game is very bad. It is just very boring and has no game play what so ever. Don't waste your time or money on this awful game. Avoid!

Having heard about how groundbreaking and refreshing this game was, I was incredibly excited to see that it was coming to the PS4.
I eagerly downloaded it on the day of release and took my time with it.

It was beyond dull. The first 30 minutes I kept telling myself "It's a slow build up, keep with it, it'll get better" and... then I reached the end of the game (after a few hours, obviously) and honestly.... I felt like I wasted my time.

The entire game is incredibly slow and, honestly, comes off as a little preachy.
I am fully in support of rights and such for every type of person. I do not judge, and think everyone should live as they want.
However, the plot and character development was legitimately obnoxious. At times I was convinced they'd ripped off the script of a Saturday morning cartoon PSA about identity politics...

And don't get me started on the sound. The "voice acting" (I use quotations, as I feel it would do a disservice to people who put effort into their work) is atrocious. At points it sounded like they got the same woman to voice 5 different people, each with a slightly different vocal tone.

Overall, honestly, it was just bland and forgettable. I have had more engagement and enjoyment from a choose-your-own-adventure game written by amateurs.
Maybe this game was trying to appeal to those who have very strong political views, so maybe that's where I went wrong.

On a side note, I'd like to give a shout out to the developers for going on Twitter and literally begging for good scores because their review section was "raided".
I thought it was photoshoppped, or they'd been hacked, but nope. They actually did that.
This is not a cool business practice. A game should not get a positive score because of something outside of the game.
I'd like to think they'll grow up and learn from this, but they won't.
Roll on their next poorly-voice-acted barely-game!

Looked interesting from the preview, horrible game when purchased. Can't wait for the refund systems like Steam has to hit PS4 and XboxOne. Would have instantly refunded this waste of disc space.

I guess they figured if they made it CyberPunk it would be KEWL and people would overlook their nonsensical world view they try to slam down your throat at every opportunity.

I hope their parents have room to have them move back in once this game falls flat on its face.

Uninspired design in terms of both gameplay and characters. Glitches galore. With so many great games out there to play I honestly can't find a redeeming quality for this... There's no real pull or aspect that sets it above the rest. Don't waste your time.

Bad game. graphics are horrible. You can not understand what is going on. Its just a bunch of pixels. Controls are bad and projectiles kill u although they do not hit you. Terrible experience with this game. Its indie and its supposed to be inspired by 90s games but all it does is it takes the bugs of games from the 90s and combines them all in an overall bad game. Avoid at all cost.

Gameplay feels very outdated and unstable, crashed multiply times.
There's a lot better out there, the day after I finished the game I realized that I really don't have any memories about the story....and that says a lot.
Honestly simply not worth the time or money.

I was hoping for the throwback feelgood game shown in the trailers but it was honestly weak in every aspect. Huge disappointment and likely a historical tale of how not to promote a game pretending to be entertaining.

Trailers looked decent, game was very lacking in gameplay. Artstyle is okey i guess? If it where released a couple of years ago when the whole "pixel" look wasnt a fad then it might have been somewhat original. Now it just drowns in a sea of uninspired Unity games garbage.

This is a terrible game and quite possibly the worst I have ever played. Everything is bad about it. It's extremely boring and the graphics are absolutely garbage. The story is a mess. I wouldn't recommend this "game" to anyone. I want a refund for wasting hours of my life playing this piece of garbage.

A game that tries to tug at your nostalgic heart strings, but fails. The game might've been fun in the 90s, when there was not very many games to choose from, but has little to offer today. Uneventful and not very engaging.

There's no other way to put it - just an awful game. Horrible controls and gameplay feels lacking. Safe bet just to skip this and save the money. Most I would pay for this is maybe $1.99 and even then, you can find better games for that price.

This is a game that clearly cares more about messaging than gameplay or user experience. I have to assume that 'all their friends' thought it was great, and wonder if there was anything beyond a minimal QA process. It doesn't perform well, leaves the user feeling empty. Cyberpunk should be fresh and dazzling; this game is neither. Pedestrian retread.

Unfortunately, I feel like this game was meant to be made as a statement rather than an actual piece of enjoyable media.

It is very regrettable that the developers decided to use this media as a platform to browbeat viewers with their political viewpoints, but as most people can well see, their supporters feel the same way about anyone who disagrees with them. The music is passable,

The music is passable, the graphics are mediocre, and the story is very much up its own ass. The developers should be ashamed for using politics as a means for monetary gain, they are worse than the strawmen they point to in the game or on their Twitter.

If you see a high score they are being paid. This game is terrible. The story if full of political messages hidden behind what appears to be a sub par story game. Sub-par is being generous. To play this game is to waste part of your life. I never felt like I wasted time playing a game until this title. Be warned. This game is not a game but a political agenda that is masked as a game.

Completely uninspired garbage. As other people have mentioned, for a story driven game, the story is utterly lacking. To the developers: I would not have even come here to rate this game, I don't use metacritic, but after seeing you blame the review score on "alt right trolls", I had to chime in. In fact, after reading some of the 10/10 reviews, it appears that the only positive reactions you have gotten are based on your political leanings rather than gameplay elements.

If you want to sit through a few hours of PBS Kids style feel good **** this is the game for you. If you want decent gameplay and a substantive, intelligent storyline, please don't purchase this game.

Did I mention boring characters? The worst is your robot assistant, with which you'll interact the most. He's annoying - there is one puzzle near the beginning where I kid you not, he explains it twice as long as solving that actual puzzle takes. Every other character is stupid or snarky (especially women of color). While playing, I longed for old communist cartoons I watched when growing up in Poland. They were less preachy than this game. And had better graphics.

At the price tag of $19,99 it's not advisable to buy this game, mostly due to the very low level of challenge and paper-thin story.

Repetitive and boring, bad attempt at retro. NOT worth full price at 19.99. If you have to have it, wait until it's deeply discounted, or better yet skip it and buy ANYTHING else. Salt and Sanctuary is cheaper and far better. Frankly burning a 20 dollar bill is more fun than this excuse for a game. Avoid.

I like retro games but I don't like how this looks, The pixel art is bad, there is no separation between the foreground and the background, it's too busy and not obvious about what things are. It's also only pixilated, it's not actually consistent with a retro look. Example, the color pallets are huge and draw from colors only available on high bit modern systems. Why have giant pixels that look 8-16 bit then use large color pallets? The high quality voice audio mixed in with 8 bit digital effects is grating. I really don't like this **** of art styles. Expand

Bugs aside, I had a killer time with 2064. Although series like Phoenix Wright and Danganronpa have successfully reinvented the Japanese-style adventure game for the 21st century, there's a certain allure to the mysterious world of menu-driven microcomputer adventures of decades past. 2064 not only successfully simulates that feeling, it welcomes players of all backgrounds and orientations with open arms. 2064's future is one that belongs to all of us.

2064: Read Only Memories presents an interesting, if not predictable, narrative that is propelled by its strong cast of characters and excellent world-building. It’s refreshing to see a developer put so much care into creating a cast as diverse and interesting as this.
