Apr 18, 2017Beautiful pixel art with a cool, retro color scheme, a smart, snappy story, amazing voice acting, & lots of memorable, diverse characters-- just the way I like them. A must-play for aficionados of cyberpunk.
-
Apr 18, 2017Deeply moved
With a good sense of direction design wise, wonderful pixel art, and giving such a retro feel, it takes on the cyberpunk theme fantastically well, but mostly as an aesthetic, with a good soundtrack, and interesting characters it sure is a keeper! -

Apr 18, 2017One of the best adventure games I have ever had the chance to play - a true evolution of the genre while also being a loving homage to the inspirations that preceded it. A soundtrack that I still hum to this day, unforgettable characters, and confident steps forward for representation in games. Highly recommended!

Apr 18, 2017It's really quite cute, I've enjoyed it. The art style is lovely, I love the music, and the characters are enjoyable. I've not finished it yet, but I've spent a few hours so far enjoying a lovely game. I'd truly score it about 7/10, but the brigading is rather poor taste.

Apr 18, 2017a brilliant love letter to the Japanese Point & Click Adventures of the Late 80s and Early 90s. Good sprite work, very amusing dialogue and interesting story.
-
Apr 18, 2017I found this game's art incredibly charming. I love cyberpunk, and a brighter, more fun version of that genre was very refreshing. Great music, charming characters and a cool plot!
-
Apr 18, 2017I don't count many games as among my favorites, but this is definitely one of them. An homage to Kojima's SNATCHER, 2064 is a game about identity. No, not gender identity, but what makes something sapient. It's wrapped up in a good mystery with lots of great characters, music, and humor. I can never interact with a plant in a game the same way again.
-
Apr 18, 2017It's a great game with a great narrative and some super charming characters. Plus the voice acting is quite charming people like Jim Sterling and Dan Ryckert really delivered. Highly recommended
-
Apr 18, 2017A really great game, even for people who usually don't enjoy Point'n'click. Story's really interesting, but it was the character development who stuck the most to me. Soundtrack's aced too.
-
Apr 18, 2017This is a great game. Great cyberpunk graphics, great storyline, a diverse cast and a more-than-underlying political message. I'd give it an 11 if I could.
-
Apr 18, 2017This is an amazing game that captures what is actually good and important about videogames. It's pure fun from start to finish, I don't have any complains about the game really.
-
Apr 18, 2017Ah it's subtle and beautiful piece of storytelling that has important insight into many issues we face today as humans (and beyond). It had a succinct and gorgeous aesthetic that shows the care put into its creation. I haven't played a game with better voice acting and I think that added so much to the balance of humor and heart in the game.

Apr 18, 20172064 ROM is a game about what make humans humans, about politics, about trees, about morality and duality and about you. Don't listen to the bad reviews, this game will give you insight and thoughts about what could happen in the future and what's going on right now around you. I would not spoil you but you can trust me in this one, you will love it
-
Apr 18, 20172064 is by no means a PERFECT game, but I'm of the opinion that such things don't exist, anyway. What it does, it does well: good characters, strong writing, an immersive world, and tons of stuff to look at and explore. It's full of charm and authentically in love with its own premises, and plus, as everyone knows, the soundtrack is bangin'.

Apr 18, 2017I've played this game from start to finish a handful of times and it's definitely one of my favorites in recent memory. It's also the only game I can think of that actually asked me which pronouns to use, which I appreciated as a non-binary person.

Apr 18, 2017A wonderful throwback to classic adventure games/visual novels like Snatcher. Clever writing, awesome music, and an endearing cast of characters populate a world that feels both distant and all too familiar. Worth checking out! : )

Apr 18, 2017Breathes new life into a thoroughly neglected genre. And with a strong emphasis on inclusion! A few gameplay and story pitfalls are easily overlooked when this game is just overflowing with heart and style. It's one of my favorite indie titles of the past 5 years and I will come back to it time and again, no doubt.
-
Apr 18, 2017When nostalgic love letter to the old adventure games on Sega CD goes right. I came in for Snatcher, stayed with unique and captivating story, setting and broad, fun and well written bunch of character and good thrill of mystery. Extra points for very stellar pixel art and groovy tunes. Good stuff!
-
Apr 18, 2017Lush original music, and now some of the best damn voice acting I've heard in a video game in a long time. Get immersed in the story, setting and unique characters, and don't forget to use the headphones on everything!!!
-
Apr 18, 2017This game genuinely surprised me for how incredible of a throwback adventure game it was...there are multiple ways to solve puzzles, the soundtrack and graphics are excellent, I fell in LOVE with the story and characters, and the whole thing just oozed with style and polish. Pretty incredible to have something like this come out in this day and age!
-
Apr 18, 2017Excellent soundtrack and VA in a very interesting storyline with fun characters. Definitely a great throwback to games like Snatcher. Also the fact it has the ire of trolls wanting to regress society to an imaginary ideal makes me like it even more.

Apr 18, 2017Could gush about the game's looks and writing all day but do yourself a favor and just go play the game. Interesting to note that 100% of the user ratings below a 5 never actually played the game or seen a naked woman irl. Wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of these are from the same people. Sad!
-
Apr 18, 2017A brilliant mix between an adventure game and a visual novel. Probably my favourite of this genre since the original Ace Attorney games with smart writing and memorable characters.

Apr 18, 2017This game made me feel warm and good deep down. It's a good story, and the tone of the game through and through is just great, it's an excellent science fiction game.
-
Apr 18, 2017One of the greatest games in a generation from one of the most on-target developers. Mesmerizing visuals, exceptional character depth. One in a million!
-
Apr 18, 2017A well executed love letter to adventure games and 90's cyberpunk themes. If those two aesthetics sound good to you you can't do much better than this in 2016.
-
Apr 18, 2017This game is an absolute treat. It has a stellar soundtrack, lovely cyberpunk aesthetic, fascinating story, and endearing, diverse characters. If you're a fan of point and click adventure games, this is the game for you.
-
Apr 18, 2017Oh, where do I start!
This game has been on my radar since like, what, 2014? I was quite excited about it at the time, and it did not disappoint!
Great art direction (love the colors!), great music, also a robot is your friend.
All around a wholesome package for fans of adventure games out there. -
Apr 18, 2017Read Only Memories was a really enjoyable experience, with many cute and memorable characters! I recommend it to anyone who's a fan of interesting sci-fi narratives that aren't all noir-esque or grimdark, especially if you like having lgbt characters that aren't just tragedy-porn. I consider it an 8 or 9 out of 10, but for the purpose of combating garbage review-bombers, I'm giving it a 10.

Apr 19, 2017I really enjoyed the original release, and 2064 only added to my enjoyment of the game. A good classic style point click adventure game. The soundtrack and art for this game fits the cyperpunk theme and made the whole game really memorable.

Apr 18, 2017The game is amazing. Voice acting makes it even more enoyable. Charming environment and really good writing. Don't listen to the alt-right **** Read Only Memories is great and worth playing.
-
Apr 19, 2017Ignore the Gamergaters, this is a lot of fun. Diverse, interesting characters, cute design, GREAT score. Relationships between the main characters drive the plot, this is definitely worth picking up if you enjoyed classic point-and-click adventures. Strongly recommended.
-
Apr 18, 2017This is a delightful little scifi game about having a robot buddy and how much you want to love them for being a cute robot pet but robots aren't pets they're people. Love them, but respect them for who they are.
-
Apr 18, 2017A lovely game with great pixel art and a soundtrack that SLAPS. The world leans toward an aesthetically brighter and bouncier vision of the future than most cyberpunk stories, which is refreshing for this oft explored setting. It's also one of the few games that lets you set custom pronouns for the player character; a little thing that meant a lot to me.
-
Apr 18, 2017Awesome pixel art, cool take on cyberpunk tropes. I was a big fan of Snatcher, and I feel like Read Only Memories did a great job of taking the cooler parts from that game but modernizing them in several key ways. It's nice to see that the point and click adventure games haven't entirely disappeared. More cyberpunk games like this, please.
-
Apr 21, 2017It's a great game that deserves the 10 stars! All the negative votes are just attacking it because it's queer friendly. The music is good, alongside the story, even with the harshest of critics I would give the game a 7.5/10. All the 0's are undeserved and some seem to be from the same user with random/simple usernames.

Apr 18, 2017Oh my Lord, this is one of my favorite games.
- It's heart-wrenching in all the right ways.
- You get super attached to all the characters.
- Incredible voice acting.
- Amazing story.
Honestly I strongly suggest this game if you can get around the pixel graphics and point n' click part of it. (Personally neither of those things bother me, infact i quite like pixel graphics.) -
Apr 18, 2017It makes me sad that these guys got review-brigaded because of the politics on their Twitter account.
For what it's worth, I played this game when it first came out, and I found it to be adorable. Something like a cross between a point and click adventure and a visual noverl, it has amazing stylistic choices and real heart to it. 10 stars! Would play again. -

Apr 24, 20172064: Read Only Memories is fantastic; it features beautiful pixel art supplemented by fantastic music and a colorful cast of characters. Its developers also have wonderful political views. 150 words aren't enough to do this game justice -- it must be played!

Feb 3, 2020I don't really remember exactly when I got this in my Steam library, but I decided to give it a try within the past couple of months and you know, it's not bad! The music's amazing (seriously, check out "Home (not) Sweet Home" if you're curious), the pixel art is really nice, and the story's engaging. At least to me, anyway. Definitely not for everyone, but I had fun with it.

May 21, 2020It’s actually a good game. Excellent voice acting with multiple endings. Reminds me of those 80’s cartoons. It’s a shame idiots have been review bombing this game here. Those complaining about it being "political"... that's the actual plot of the game... you know what a plot is, right?

Jun 12, 2017Bugs aside, I had a killer time with 2064. Although series like Phoenix Wright and Danganronpa have successfully reinvented the Japanese-style adventure game for the 21st century, there's a certain allure to the mysterious world of menu-driven microcomputer adventures of decades past. 2064 not only successfully simulates that feeling, it welcomes players of all backgrounds and orientations with open arms. 2064's future is one that belongs to all of us.
-
Feb 24, 20172064: Read Only Memories presents an interesting, if not predictable, narrative that is propelled by its strong cast of characters and excellent world-building. It’s refreshing to see a developer put so much care into creating a cast as diverse and interesting as this.

Jan 31, 2017I alternated between enjoyment and stretches of indifference. I am genuinely glad, though, that we have this addition to our growing Western library of visual novel hybrids (!).
