Beautiful pixel art with a cool, retro color scheme, a smart, snappy story, amazing voice acting, & lots of memorable, diverse characters-- just the way I like them. A must-play for aficionados of cyberpunk.

    Deeply moved

With a good sense of direction design wise, wonderful pixel art, and giving such a retro feel, it takes on the cyberpunk theme fantastically well, but mostly as an aesthetic, with a good soundtrack, and interesting characters it sure is a keeper!

Fantastically well-written game. There are characters in the game who aren't straight cisgendered nerdboys! If this is a problem for you, probably don't play the game. If, like me, you want charming and excellent queer representation in your lightly transhumanism flavoured cyberpunk, though, definitely give this game a shot.

Extra shout-out to the portrayal of Jess, who I would like to

One of the best adventure games I have ever had the chance to play - a true evolution of the genre while also being a loving homage to the inspirations that preceded it. A soundtrack that I still hum to this day, unforgettable characters, and confident steps forward for representation in games. Highly recommended!

It's really quite cute, I've enjoyed it. The art style is lovely, I love the music, and the characters are enjoyable. I've not finished it yet, but I've spent a few hours so far enjoying a lovely game. I'd truly score it about 7/10, but the brigading is rather poor taste.

What an experience, the game plays like a point 'n' click from the 90s and the aesthetic too reeks of the 90s, the characters are memorable and quirky, the music is brilliant and there are quite a number of endings to have you playing through multiple times, the storytelling is broken up every now and then by puzzles/mini games which is fine, although the last one is considerably difficultWhat an experience, the game plays like a point 'n' click from the 90s and the aesthetic too reeks of the 90s, the characters are memorable and quirky, the music is brilliant and there are quite a number of endings to have you playing through multiple times, the storytelling is broken up every now and then by puzzles/mini games which is fine, although the last one is considerably difficult and may frustrate sum. I found this game's art incredibly charming. I love cyberpunk, and a brighter, more fun version of that genre was very refreshing. Great music, charming characters and a cool plot!

I don't count many games as among my favorites, but this is definitely one of them. An homage to Kojima's SNATCHER, 2064 is a game about identity. No, not gender identity, but what makes something sapient. It's wrapped up in a good mystery with lots of great characters, music, and humor. I can never interact with a plant in a game the same way again.

A really great game, even for people who usually don't enjoy Point'n'click. Story's really interesting, but it was the character development who stuck the most to me. Soundtrack's aced too.

Ah it's subtle and beautiful piece of storytelling that has important insight into many issues we face today as humans (and beyond). It had a succinct and gorgeous aesthetic that shows the care put into its creation. I haven't played a game with better voice acting and I think that added so much to the balance of humor and heart in the game.

2064 ROM is a game about what make humans humans, about politics, about trees, about morality and duality and about you. Don't listen to the bad reviews, this game will give you insight and thoughts about what could happen in the future and what's going on right now around you. I would not spoil you but you can trust me in this one, you will love it

2064 is by no means a PERFECT game, but I'm of the opinion that such things don't exist, anyway. What it does, it does well: good characters, strong writing, an immersive world, and tons of stuff to look at and explore. It's full of charm and authentically in love with its own premises, and plus, as everyone knows, the soundtrack is bangin'.

I've played this game from start to finish a handful of times and it's definitely one of my favorites in recent memory. It's also the only game I can think of that actually asked me which pronouns to use, which I appreciated as a non-binary person.

With clever, sharp dialogue and characterisation that defies expectations and the labourious rhythm of standard video game dialogue and development, 2064: Read Only Memories incorporates both the history of cyberpunk fiction with inspiration from the experiences of the LGBT+ community in the United States to tell a unique story of identity and self-actualization.

Combining this with its bright, cheerful aesthetic and excellent sense of humour that ensures its points are never too heavy handed, 2064: Read Only Memories is one of the best graphic adventure games to be released in the last 15 years.

Breathes new life into a thoroughly neglected genre. And with a strong emphasis on inclusion! A few gameplay and story pitfalls are easily overlooked when this game is just overflowing with heart and style. It's one of my favorite indie titles of the past 5 years and I will come back to it time and again, no doubt.

When nostalgic love letter to the old adventure games on Sega CD goes right. I came in for Snatcher, stayed with unique and captivating story, setting and broad, fun and well written bunch of character and good thrill of mystery. Extra points for very stellar pixel art and groovy tunes. Good stuff!

This game genuinely surprised me for how incredible of a throwback adventure game it was...there are multiple ways to solve puzzles, the soundtrack and graphics are excellent, I fell in LOVE with the story and characters, and the whole thing just oozed with style and polish. Pretty incredible to have something like this come out in this day and age!

Excellent soundtrack and VA in a very interesting storyline with fun characters. Definitely a great throwback to games like Snatcher. Also the fact it has the ire of trolls wanting to regress society to an imaginary ideal makes me like it even more.

I own both the original ROM and got 2064 from a Humble Bundle. If you like Kojima adventure games like Snatcher this game is definitely for you, no further reading is required. Go play the game, you'll enjoy it. If you see a negative review for this game it is highly likely that they just came here because they were told to try and drop the score but some angry kid with an agenda. If you see a negative review for this game it is highly likely that they just came here because they were told to try and drop the score but some angry kid with an agenda. If you don't like adventure games this might not be for you, it's not a perfect game but its very well done, especially given the restraints of the genre.

The game is purposefully a throwback to an older era of adventure games. The pixel art supports this well and reads crisply while having a destinct style of its own. Rarely did I find myself hunting for pixels. The music of this game both fits the style of the games it's inspired by while being a good soundtrack overall. The music is done by artist 2Mellow of Chrono Jigga fame and I would love to see him produce more for video games if this is any merit.

The story is good. Some twists and turns that aren't too predictable though this is a noir cyberpunk and plays to it's tropes. 2064 fixes alot of issues of certain characters being a bit more one dimensional than in the original ROM and is a welcome fix. There is enough going on and enough for you to change for the interactivity to be engaging. Occasional puzzles break things up and have been improved slightly since the original as well. Most of the voice acting is done quite well definitely adds to many already memorable characters.

Honestly the most impressive thing about this game, having realistically depicted and statistically accurate demographics for future San Francisco should not be impressive. This should be the bar that most games strive to meet, not that every story needs to have as much diversity but having a game match real life statistics shouldn't be as difficult as it is. Not everyone in the game is LGBT, but realistically characters that are gay or trans will spend time with people in similar situations. The world feels authentic for what it is going for.

Is this game perfect? No, sometimes you will wander around not knowing what to do and like any adventure game there is a bit of logic you have to dance around when progressing through the game. But for what it aims to do, that is an interesting small dev team's take on a Snatcher style game with good writing for it's LGBT characters, the game succeeds. I look forward to seeing more games like this since gaming can be so broad for different types of games and gamers.

Interesting to note that 100% of the user ratings below a 5 never actually played the game or seen a naked woman irl. Wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of these are from the same people. Sad!

Bugs aside, I had a killer time with 2064. Although series like Phoenix Wright and Danganronpa have successfully reinvented the Japanese-style adventure game for the 21st century, there's a certain allure to the mysterious world of menu-driven microcomputer adventures of decades past. 2064 not only successfully simulates that feeling, it welcomes players of all backgrounds and orientations with open arms. 2064's future is one that belongs to all of us.

2064: Read Only Memories presents an interesting, if not predictable, narrative that is propelled by its strong cast of characters and excellent world-building. It’s refreshing to see a developer put so much care into creating a cast as diverse and interesting as this.

I alternated between enjoyment and stretches of indifference. I am genuinely glad, though, that we have this addition to our growing Western library of visual novel hybrids (!).
