    This is easlily the best looking game to come out on any console this past year. It plays a bit like tombraider meets Max Payne. I really enjoyed this game, the story was great, the game play was fun and got better and better as you played through the game. The visual look of the game is absolutely incredible, there are moments in this game where you cannot believe it is a game.     One of the most immersive games I have ever played with an incredibly realistic presentation. As close to a blockbuster hit as you can get. It's the little things that really make this game stand out (e.g. Drake flinches behind cover when shot, clothes get wet in water, etc.). A must buy for any PS3 owner/action-adventure fan.

    This is the first single player game that I've actually played through 4 times in a row for new unlockables that make the game fun. It takes me back to when Perfect dark had time limits set for cheats, but this time its attached to certain limits in killing and collecting hidden treasures.

(You can skip any little cutscene and you are already playing the next level without running into a load screen; Sure you may see textures load after skipping the cut scene but, it makes it a whole lot more fun to play it through.)

    the mechanics of the game feel like a simplified version of Tomb Raider and Prince of Persia, however you aren't sweating each jump to time it correctly or hitting a certain button to perform an action. you just run n' jump. Yes it is that simple, but very fun.

    The [cheats] you gain for your efforts makes the game more fun to play a second time.

    From the very beginning I knew I was going to love this game. Naughty Dog(the makers of my personal favorite game of last generation, Jak 2) have metaphorically hit another one right out of the park. When you realize that the movie you just watched is actually gameplay, you are hooked. GOTY for sure.

    This game is the perfect compliment to your ps3 library. It is by far the best exclusive title on the console. Meshing great graphics, gameplay and story all in one makes this title a must buy for any PS3 owner.

    This game is a diamond in the rough that is the PS3 game lineup. This one actually delivers on what it promised, unlike Heavenly Sword and Lair. Best graphics I have ever seen in a game and as fun as watching a supermodel on a trampoline. BUY THIS GAME because the PS3 is now a contender!

    This game is truly epic. It's one of the best, single-player experience ever, right next to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I seriously recommend this game to anyone who has a PS3 or is thinking of getting one or even if you are not, go get one. This game, you have to play. To the thundering waterfalls and ancient fortresses you adventure through, to the subtle way the fabric of Drake's shirt shifts as he runs, your eyes are in for a visual feast that runs at a constant, smooth framerate even when the action heats up. The extensive motion capture work Naughty Dog used on this title is evident in the way Drake To put it bluntly, this game is beautiful. The extensive motion capture work Naughty Dog used on this title is evident in the way Drake an Co. move and interact with the environment, adding a level of immersion that goes overlooked in most games. However, in their quest to strike a balance between response time and character movement, the developers seem to have missed the mark. Platforming movements aren't seamless and tend to be too rapid to be believable, making things seem sort of canned. Technical elements of the story also stray a little to far from reality, adding to a sort of out-of-place feeling. The story as a whole is pretty solid and fun to play through though, and the time you'll spend having fun greatly outweighs the few discomforts. An excellent game overall.… Expand

    Really great story, graphics, control, and everything else I'm missing. I'm currently in chapter 8 and I'm pretty surprised that critics say that it takes approx. 8 hours cause I'm pretty sure its not gonna happen at the rate I'm having. Def must buy or at least rent if you own the ps3.

    The best PS3 game, period. Phenomenal graphics, awesome gameplay, and a story you wish they'd make into a movie. Uncharted has it all. If you're in the field for a Playstation 3, Drake's fortune should be considered without a doubt, and it will warrant that purchase. This is the game to play this year, it's that simple.

    A great game that has a very cinematic feel to it. While I was lost at some points of the game, it's all worth it for the excellent plot.

    You know, there are some flaws in this. Like the camera angles didn't always agree with me and the gameplay got a little repetitive but when there's a story that's this compelling, it compensates for it. The gameplay, though as I said repetitive, is remarkable. This is fun

    One great adventure game.
    Characters were interesting as well.
    No multiplayer mode, but the adventure sure was one hell of a ride.

    Gameplay wasn't that smooth that was all.
    Great game, 8.5/10.

    I think that Drakes Fortune is an excellent game, and one that has a lot to offer most gamers. There is plenty of problem solving, adventure and "bad guys" to shoot at to make most gamers happy. Overall, I would say this is a "must have" for most gamers' collections!

    Love it. If you agree with the Onion AV club you are a tool! Negative reviews are from people who cannot play video games.
    I like the fact that the control scheme is complete. There are a ton of possible moves and the bonus potential is great. The modifications to the game based on rewards is really nice too. I am looking forward to playing Uncharted 2!

    Love the story, plot, pacing. For its time, my favorite game. I'd say a 10, but things have improved since then so much in its sequels. Either way, you owe it to yourself to checkout the first in the series as it is unique, and harder difficulty in crushing than UC2 and UC3.

The story is amazing and the gameplay has a pretty cool mix of 3rd person shooting, platforming and puzzles. The graphics do look great and it still does today, but you'll notice that it's a bit dated after over 3 years. This is a stellar PS3 title andI got this game over a year ago and this game still pretty cool to this day. Naughty Dog has made one of their best games they've made.     I got this game with my PS3 when i brought it and it sat there for a few months gathering dust, Read a few good things online and decided to give it a crack. Well what a suprise i got, the best game i had played at the time. Graphically great with excellent characters and story. Playing this through a third time now.

    Tomb Raider meets Indiana Jones! I like the third person perspective for console games. (PC for first person) I am almost done with this one and have already purchased the second and pre-ordered the third. Graphics are good and action is challenging but not so much that it's frustrating. (I play on easy.) Great adventure game.

    From the opening cinematic you are taken right into the combat methods, and shooting methods, and from there the climbing, running, jumping, aiming, shooting, the environment, everything, crystal clear, running so smoothly. I never thought a game could deliver on such a level.

    If you have a PS3, and you don't have this game, you are just missing out on one of the, if not the best game on the PS3 (maybe aside from Uncharted 2 :P)    … Expand

The story is good, the environments are beautiful and feels alive. And I've never played a game like this, cause the characters are humans, I mean, they feel real, and it's easy to care about them.     The must play action game on the PS3 and of 2007. This is a true action adventure game with amazing cinematics, great graphics, good cover system, intense shoot-outs, fantastic voice acting and an appealing story. However, the story is only up to 7 hours on normal difficulty, on crushing: 10 but there are treasures to collect to keep you busy for a few more days/weeks.

    6 days from release of uncharted 3 and im stuck playing the first two over and over until that amazing day comes, and both uncharted and uncharted 2 are amazing. This game started a series that will sure stay with us for a very long time. A sure contendor for one of the best games ever made!

    3rd Best game this gen (after Uncharted 2 , 3), its Very underrated too! I dont get how some people hate it, if you actually played the game you will know its one of the best adventure games this gen! I recommend it to everyone who like action/adventure games

    Very very very good story. The enviornment is beautiful the voice acting and sound are great and it's just fun to play. Now, the gameplay it self is very...retroish and it can sometimes feel old and at times a bit akward but it'r really hard to fault this game on alot

    Haven't enjoyed an action/adventure game this much in a long time. Since I've played Uncharted, pulp action movies have not been as enjoyable as this game. While the controls are not as tight as some games, this is a great game for someone who only has a few hours a week to enjoy a video game and wants to make the most of their time.

    Drake's Fortune is an awesome game. Set with an awesome story that will have you waiting for the next moment, top notch graphics and gameplay and music that'll make you feel like Indiana Jones. The only problems I have with this game is at some points in the game, the pacing is bad. You find yourself just shooting down hoards of enemies after hoards of enemies.     Started the game, thought lots of adventure but it totally lacked adventure it seemed like its main focus was shooting like all games but overall it did have bits and pieces of adventure and a great storylne making you want to keep playing so you know what will happen next. There are a few niggles I have, mostly owing to enemies being quite invulnerable to bullets and the platforming isn't as controlled as Uncharted 2 and 3, yet these are minor criticisms in the very enjoyable and action-packed game that lets you step intoUncharted DF is a great game that starts off the Uncharted franchise and the story, graphics, controls and voice acting are all amazing. This one holds a place dear in my heart because I loved the spanish setting and forts, with the water and jungle, and the character and climbing was all new to me. I had a ps2 and not a good computer so games like half-life 2, doom 3, and far cry were showing me what I was missing.     An awesome treasure hunting story with a perfect combination of great characters, good gameplay, and interesting puzzles. The pacing is very smooth and you will find some surprises near the end. What else is there to say? It’s a suburb game. Now go play it!

I don't understand ppl talking about to skip this one or that there is too much shooting etc. Drake is fighting with goons of Roman and Eddy Raja so there must be quite a lot of shooting going as-as everybody is racing for that treasure. The puzzles are fun though nothing head breaking. However, this is the first game of Naughty Dog on PS3 franchise so it's sure it ain'tThe game is great. The game is fast, nice, a lot of exploring and shooting as well as platform sections with climbing jumping swinging etc. Plus finding all the treasures is also a nice challenge. Pretty easy to master for the Platinum trophy though 2 or 3 trophies are pretty hardcore :)

    All in All, for me this game is just absolutely great and amazing and I definitely recommend every1 that want to start the adventure with Drake to start from the first game as its just a must have and must finish the game in order to have 100% fun from other 2 parts of Drake's journey. Don't listen to trolls that say that the game is bad. The game is marvellous. Trust me and check it out.     Yet this game isn't without it's flaws. The environments become a bit repetitive at the beginning, but change as you progress. Also, your progression is delayed by difficulty bumps. The thing is that those delays are caused by the AI having a better hand (literally) enemies have the precision of baseball players when it comes to lobbing grenades! I kept on failing because of the damage caused by enemy attacks, a very few shots and you're a goner. I'm not bad at uncharted, but it seemed a bit unfair at some points. I was playing on normal BTW. There are a few other things I should mention about these bumps, but i wouldn't want to spoil anything.

    Aside from that the story feels amazing the easiest way that i can compare how the story make me feel is probably comparing it to movies like Indiana Jones or James Bond 007, is just excellent you have all your elements, the cute girl that you can't wait to kiss at the end, your older extremely likable friend, the bad guy, and an even badder sidekick bad guy. What surprised me about this characters was just... well how important they were for the story at times they even felt more important that Drake himself.
    This is done by an amazing voice acting from everyone it just really adds a really cinematic style to it, having such wonderful voices in a game where the story and the gameplay is just beautiful.
    The only reason why im not rating this game a 10 is just because it can definitely become repetitive at times and the difficulty of the game is pretty unbalanced i mean normal just feels extremely difficult at times, luckily it can be changed at any time without any loading screens in the middle this was an amazing option that strangely enough not so many games till now have incorporated, but...
    In conclusion an amazing voice acting cast, beautiful stunning graphics, and a gorgeous combination of gameplay that so many games before had tried and have failed miserably with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune having so many good things done the right way i can just let this game get a lower score than nine.

And it bothers me how Nate can get shot three times and walk it off, but its a video game so I guess I should stop complaining. The story was really interesting and at the end the story becomes friggin' I Am Legend because there are monsters trying to kill you and which was scary and fun. Overall, it was a great game.… Expand

    I really enjoyed this game back when it came out. It got a lot of criticism for being derivative but I don't think it's much more derivative than many other games. It was a fantastic adventure. The characters, beautiful island jungle setting, and narrative were extremely well done. Especially for the time.     A highly entertaining game for the first two-thirds, let down by extreme repetition and an abrupt upsurge of difficulty during the final laps.

    Easy to see the groundwork being laid for the sublime Last of Us series, though, and I very much look forward to playing the subsequent games in this franchise (Uncharted 2 being the one everyone seems to rave about)!

    Uncharted Drake’s Fortune is a game I could consider calling it a fun platforming action-adventure game that totally feels like a movie inspired by Indiana Jones and it is pretty amazing. No wonder why Naughty Dog decides to make a huge leap after the Jak franchise with this fun action platformer that started it all.

    UC2 is one of my favorite games ever. I played it before I played Uncharted Drake's fortune, so naturally this game was a big setback for me gameplay wise. The story and setting is great as it always is in the Uncharted games. Music is also wonderful. And don't even get me started with the voice acting.

    There is one part in the game that completely changes from an action/adventure game    UC2 is one of my favorite games ever. I played it before I played Uncharted Drake's fortune, so naturally this game was a big setback for me gameplay wise. The story and setting is great as it always is in the Uncharted games. Music is also wonderful. And don't even get me started with the voice acting.

    There is one part in the game that completely changes from an action/adventure game to a horror game. That part was extremely frightening and that is always cool to see. Scary bits in other games than horror games that are actually scarier than most horror games are always great.

    One big minus that I really didn't care for was the blood-splatter that came out of the enemies whenever I hit them with bullets. It was too corny and unrealistic for my taste.    … Expand

    Linear, sure, but story is pleasant to follow and watch (cut-scenes included).
    Game is technically well made and balanced. Controls are simple and feel quite natural. Variety of different situation, actions and places you go makes this game not monotonous.
    I love that trophies are actually not so difficult to get, even though a guide may be needed.

    This is my first ps3 game and my first non-JRPG game. As a kid I was very addicted to JRPG games I refused to play anything else. This game not only broke me out of the JRPG loop, but made me fall in love with action games. This game has great voice acting, great writing and a very good action game that was so realistic and shooting all of the bad guys was a lot of fun as well.     These type of games are not my cup of tea, but it can keep you entertain well enough, if you’re into this you’re gonna love it. The game has a good story that actually I think they can easily make a movie out of it, the twist at the end wasn’t expected at all, it turned the game into a different thing.     As for the gameplay was interesting and fun sometimes, the mechanics suck for a FPS but since the good of the game is not that, it’s ok.    … Expand

    Fantastic game. The controls are tight, gunfights are fun, and exploring is awesome. The mixture of shooting along with adventuring makes the game into something fun to just pick up and play. The story is interesting with good twists so you never feel too comfortable.

    The final sum is far greater than the individual parts. Maybe you don't dig the combat or maybe the pop-in gets you down, but the overall package of an endearing story, outstanding score, great performances and fun gameplay should put this title on the top of your holiday wishlist.

    This game is one of the most immersive gaming experiences I've had this year, and it's definitely a great reason to own a PS3. The mix of platforming and gunplay worked really well and left me craving the next title in the series.

    By starting with a great control and camera system, building on that with excellent combat and a wonderful spin on Ico's platform adventuring, and then topping it off with a decent storyline, Naughty Dog has cooked up one of the most relentlessly entertaining, fat-free games to emerge in ages. Topped off with the most stunning use of the PS3's underused technical prowess yet, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is, for my money, the first must-have PlayStation 3 title.
