Feb 26, 2011There's a ton of content available, but far too much of it is repetitive. That said, if you enjoy leveling up and questing, then there's 50+ hours of it here.
-
Feb 21, 2011Trinity could have been a marvellous game if not for Omega's trademark gameplay model.
-
Feb 18, 2011Trinity Souls of Zill O'll has some strong combat mechanics and a decent story, but it's not a game for everyone because of the slow pace and overall lack of variety.
-
Feb 13, 2011At the end of the day, Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll actually works and is a competent RPG.
-
Feb 11, 2011Combat is solid and dependable, the RPG elements are functional and decently presented, and there is a good 'just one more mission' addictiveness that'll keep you coming back for more if you let its charms sink in.
-
Feb 9, 2011Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll is not the best game in its genre, but certainly is very appealing to fans of the genre.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Jan 18, 2011For those who don't mind slogging through the story, though, there's plenty of comfortably familiar adventuring in Trinity. [Feb 2011, p.85]
-
May 24, 2011There is no need for three different heroes if all three are playing very similar. You don't have to switch heroes to end the game.
-
Mar 20, 2011Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll doesn't stand out much from the crowd with good reason, as it doesn't do much that we haven't seen before. That said, it features solid gameplay and a pretty long campaign, although more could have been done to enhance the experience.
-
Mar 1, 2011Its clear similarities with Dynasty Warriors prevent Trinity to have its own personality, and although action, magic and worlds of fantasy are well done, the game lacks in innovation.
-
Games Master UKFeb 14, 2011Some nice ideas but the combat isn't solid enough and the game world's too restrictive. [Mar 2011, p.93]
-
Feb 19, 2011There isn't much to do in this lengthy action role-playing game aside from fight, but at least the fast combat will keep you engaged throughout.
-
Feb 14, 2011While not the most original experience, Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll offers plenty of enjoyment with its addictive quests and massive combat sequences.
-
Apr 6, 2011Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll is a japanese-style role-playing game might best be described as the evolution of the hack and slash genre. Like Dynasty Warriors series, it is not a great game but just a fun and addictive product. Part of the reason it works is because it uses elements that have already been successful, although several years ago.
-
Game InformerMar 6, 2011Repetitive quests that require taking down specific enemies or fetching items in areas you'll revisit multiple times over becomes dull quickly. [Mar 2011, p.98]
-
Feb 19, 2011Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll is far from perfect or innovative, but that doesn't means that fans of the genre won't be able to appreciate its fairly good gameplay and its addictive progression system. Hoping that eventually the time of top notch jRPGs will come again, Omega Force's last creation might manage to keep you busy for quite a while.
-
Feb 17, 2011Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll can be summed up in ultimately one word: average. It's nothing you simply must buy.
-
Feb 15, 2011Despite its average production and an obvious lack of ambition, Trinity remains a nice and solid game, one, however, that is closer to a beat'em all like Dynasty Warriors or N3 than to a real action-RPG. Most games of that genre have a tendency to become tedious after some time, and Trinity can be no exception : if you like more subtle and narratively rich games, be warned.
-
Feb 14, 2011It's a valiant effort to focus on a more story driven game rather than the mindless button mashing of the Warriors series, but the game could have used considerably more polish, especially when it comes to presentation.
-
Feb 11, 2011Souls of Zill O'll is overall a good action RPG, combining an interesting storyline with a fun gameplay system. However, it lacks some polish and variety, while the idea of controlling three characters is not fully exploited. At least, the IA does not compromise you and you can trust in their actions, but we would have preferred having a co-op option. Anyway, if you are a fan of the genre and wanna kill hundreds of enemies, you might consider it for buying.
-
Feb 12, 2011A strange mix of Western and Japanese RPG that fails to excite. [Mar 2011, p.88]
-
Play UKFeb 20, 2011Too repetitive and lacking in the kind of depth we look for in an action RPG. [Issue#202, p.92]
-
Mar 11, 2011Omega Force gets some credit for trying to do something different with Trinity: Souls of Z'ill O'll, but the game ultimately winds up being a decidedly average action RPG. It's a lengthy game with lots of combat and decent storyline, but with lots of repetition in combat and in exploration areas, the good cancels out the bad.
-
Feb 24, 2011With a sturdy RPG backbone and combat that's light and inoffensive it'll happily consume your time, though its dearth of imagination and lack of ambition ensures it'll give you little back in return.
