The game was ruined by it's unrealistic controls, and it's gameplay. Everything needs fixed in this game, especially the missions. Timed? No, I just can't go for that. Not recommended at all. Expand

I really don't know where some people get their review facts from. Splinter Cell DA is the SAME as the 360 version. I had no experience of slowdown or stuttering and it plays and looks as good as the Xbox version.

Overall this is a decent game. The stealth in Splinter Cell games has always attracted me to them, but this game is not at all perfect. This version suffers from a lot of slowdown, and the textures aren't quite as good looking as the 360 version, so if you have both consoles, go for the 360 version. Also the online play is rather glitchy, which makes it seem like Ubisoft did a sloppy Overall this is a decent game. Despite the technical issues, this is still a fun game, and should be pleasing to tactical shooter fans. Expand

Argh! The gaming media is dumb enough to drive any PS3 owner to an early grave. IGN gives it a 7.9 and the 360 a 9.0 so everyone is yapping about another bad port for the PS3. Rejoice PS3 owners, they are full of crap. I played both versions and they are practically IDENTICAL. Any issues with clipping and weird glitches were on the 360 version with the added benefit that it would CRASH once in awhile when accessing your wrist computer. Full on game wrecking crash. Aside from that (the PS3 version has yet to crash once) there are no noticeable differences. As for IGN, the articles were written by TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. The guy writing for the 360 LOVES the Splinter Cell franchise... the guy for the PS3 is less of a fan. He complains about bad AI and bad multilayer which are THE SAME in both versions. Most fanboys are too dumb to realize this, and so vocal that I thought I had better point it out. PS3 owners seem to be a little more mature, a little more savvy and thus I'm hoping won't despair and avoid picking up this excellent title. I'm loving playing Splinter Cell, to the extent I have even shelved MotorStorm and Oblivion (for now). Expand

Definitely not as bad as some of the reviews say (if you can find any reviews...lol), but it does have a few occasional "clipping" issues when Sam is cutting cables. As for the alleged framerate issue, there is NO framerate issue (yet another imaginary attack on the PS3, I suppose). But Ubisoft didn't go to great lengths to make it any better than the 360 version (with the exception of some extra online content). And why they changed the online mode I will never know -- Seriously, Ubi, what were you thinking! Expand

Not good. They ruined it. The base missions are all timed which ruins it, the way you have to balance the factions is terrible, and basically boils down to one mission for the goos guys, one for the bad. And why did they get rid of the light meter. Before you had to judge how safe you were in the shadows, now theres a little light and you're eiyjer invisible or not!!

How many games offer moral choices? Double Agent tries this premise and executes it perfectly. I wish more games were like this. The next game in the Splinter Cell series takes another direction. Don't miss an opportunity to play this unique and thrilling game. I played it on the 360 and it's the same game on the PS3. The graphics are just as good as the 360 version. Let me just say, I played the original Splinter Cell and Conviction before this. They were both sooooo much better than this rubbish. Seriously, how do they expect you to find your way around in this game? The 3D maps are useless, and there is no way of telling where you are meant to be going, not even which direction. The 3D maps are useless, and there is no way of telling where you are meant to be going, not even which direction. Stealth is a challenge, I get that. It was that way in the original; but PLEASE. If you're going to make stealth so hard then implement controls that allow for easier shooting. Honestly it's so hard to aim your controller may as well be upside-down. The time limits on the missions are another problem. I completed the assault course in the terrorist base five minutes under the time limit. he objective was to report back to some guy. So I went to find him. He was in a restricted area that I DIED if I went into. So I had to wait five minutes for him to get back to the assault course, and guess what his advice was? "Next time try to be quicker." The game was BUGGED so I could not complete the course ahead of time. This is yet another example of a developer releasing a game before it is finished just because of fan pressure. STOP DOING THIS! Now I am off the play The Last of Us, a FINISHED stealth game. Expand

Interesting presentation of gameplay, atmosphere, tension and a real stealth! It does not turn into a shooting range, this game of skill, strategy, flexibility of thinking and speed of decision-making. Very cool experience, the same "horror on the wings of night" for those who stand in the way. A lot of quality ideas and actions, and works as it should! I regret that long postponed, but could get acquainted with the version for PS3, and immediately it became clear why hitherto I have not heard about this port.. It is very bad, constant drawdown, the frame around 20, graphics close to the PS2 textures.. Probably was really difficult under the new console to create games, but how it passed quality control I will never be clear. I'll try it on PS2, but the game is really so covers that even in this capacity I stuck for a while. Expand

A premiere stealth game, but it has lost some of that old charm that made its predecessors so appealing. [Apr 2007, p.129]

Although I think some glitches and a weak multiplayer mode keeps the title from being an impressive $60 purchase, a solid story, good visuals and awesome gameplay mechanics have me recommending Double Agent to lock-picking fans of the genre.
  3. It's not the easiest game for newcomers to approach (the tutorial's dreadful), but even stealth virgins will see the light after an hour or so in the dark, and probably ought to add another mark to the score. Make ours a double.
