Jan 3, 2011This is one of those titles which catch a franchise and edulcorate it. It is far from being a perfect game, because it have several errors in the control and ultimately is too easy.
-
It's probably a Wii version ported to PS3, and that's a shame. Playing with Move is pretty crappy, but it's fun nevertheless and a new way to bring the Lord of the Rings franchise to the younger gamer.
-
Play UKDec 24, 2010The Move controls work fairly well...but such a blatant Wii port shouldn't be full price and won't impress serious PS3 gamers. [Issue#199, p.97]

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Dec 21, 2010Simplistic visuals, easy and repetitive combat, recycled story from many games before – Aragorn's Quest's only plus is testing your abilities with the Move control. [Dec 2010]
-
Dec 21, 2010Clearly made for younger gamers, The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest comes with a large number of very simple quests, gaining some thickness only when our character earns all his skills and fights against several enemies at once. The motion detection works well, while the graphics are generally poor.

The Wii version easily gets the nod as the one to get.

Jan 4, 2011This game is one of the few that implements the PlayStation Move controller as it should be, but it's a shame the graphics are poor and the gameplay is extremely simple and repetitive. The concept is cool, but they could have done so much more.
-
Playing cooperatively with a friend as Gandalf can be fun, but many of the quests seem almost pointless and more like mini-games designed to waste time. Low replay value makes it difficult to return to or think of as a "party" game.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKDec 24, 2010The frame rate is embarrassing. [Christmas 2010]
-
Oct 29, 2010Aragorn becames the best character in order to tell the most interesting moments of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, navigating between a childish graphic engine and a very interesing gameplay-style. Consider to by it if you're a die hard or if you're curious to find what's new on this Aragorn's Quest.
