    I played it both on the ps2 and ps3 there is no difference in graphics or visual it is the same game with a few added missions. do not waste the extra for the ps3 keep your ps2 copy.

    This game does a good job on taking on the best movie of all time with its missions and making sure that you still like to watch the cut scenes that develop the story. Taking over businesses gets bring after a while but you can complete favors and hits on other families which makes it a bit better.     This game deserves a much higher score. Especially the PS3 version, since it is the best version of the game, although I feel like it could have been more polished. When it comes to gangster games, this one takes the cake.

    I am a fan of the movies, the Godfather movies are among my favorite movies and this game is really perfect in translating the atmosphere, world and events perfectly into the video game. It is one of the best gangster games I have ever played.

    I play this game on PS2 and I love this game because the graphics were good and sound but I wish that I can play this game on PlayStation 3!

    Anyone who says the PS3 version is no different to the PS2 version is completely wrong. Graphically it is far superior and looks fantastic on a large high def screen. The dynamic weather effects look great, the buildings, character models, vehicles and insides of buildings look lovely (ok not up to the same standard as COD4 or Uncharted but much much better than the PS2, which I think is Anyone who says the PS3 version is no different to the PS2 version is completely wrong. Is it worth upgrading if you have already played the PS2 version? definitely. The combat animations and explosions are absolutely stunning. The audio has been improved big time as well (both music and surround effects). The game is bigger than the original and a tougher challenge. I play this game a lot and like the fact that there are two strategies you can follow e.g. all out combat using the enforcer style or by blackmail and subterfuge using the operator path. A much better game than the Metacritic score and online reviews suggest.… Expand

    This game really shows ow much EA listened to its audience. There are some nice improvements to the gangsters and to the game as a whole. Recommend this for anyone who has not played the game before.

    This is the best gangster game ever made! Remember when they made reviews of Saints Row 3? How much did Saints Row 3 score? How many reviewers later said that they were wrong? OMG how the heck can they rate Godfather 6,9? It should be illegal rating it like that. It really deserves a big golden 10!     I'm close to tossing this game. Every GD time I get into a battle my weapon disappears and while I'm farting around trying to recover it, I get iced. WTF?????????????

    This is a quality game especially if you're a Godfather fan. This was one of the first games i got for the PS3 and is still one of my favorites. Highly recommended.

    Not so much a comment on the particular version (Although 360/PS3 versions are infinitely superior to all others). The game itself is one of the best games ever made. A genuine open world environment with plenty of options. The challenge scale goes up at just the right pace for a challenge without frustrating difficulty spikes (with the possible exception of the faction compounds). Turning enemy stores to your family is immensely enjoyable. The voice acting is brilliant throughout and the driving mechanic is well done for its era. Combat has a good shooting mechanic but it is possible to use un-armed combat effectively. Plenty of choices throughout and a truly amazing soundtrack. I've played the game through to 100% completion three times, 200+ hours and I'm sure I'll do so again.… Expand

    A fantastic game to one of the greatest and most influential films of all time. This game has one of the most compelling stories I have ever played. I love the storytelling and the acting from some of the original actors of the iconic film.

    The sound effects are great. The gameplay is what really makes the game stand out from Grand Theft Auto. SO much to do.     The godfather the don's edition is the holy grail of mafia games, as you play as your own character and climb up the ladder of the family, great gameplay, seems faithful to the amazing story of the movie. a must have for any gangester/mafia fan to play.

    Gameplay is addictive. You take over businesses and rackets. Blow up rival families compounds, bribe police chiefs and fbi agents, take over neighborhoods,etc. Overall Amazing game.

    I have played this game together with my friend and although I had not seen the movies until now, I can confirm that is a cool gangster game that is even worth it today

    Perfectly captures the atmosphere of the movies. PS3 version is the best. Gameplay loop is very satisfying. I was absolutely motivated to 100% the game.

    PS: the game features Marlon Brandon’s final acting performance.

    EA has done a great job of expanding nearly every facet of the game, and even though only a few of these additions change the game in major ways, the overall package is a good deal better. Still, with last-gen visuals, a frustrating city layout and other issues that plagued the original release, it's still far from perfect.

    Even if you already own the game on your PS2, you may want to give it a second try. There is a lot more content here so the game will feel fresh. If you're a fan of the original game and are looking to keep the good times rolling or if you haven't played The Godfather before, The Don's Edition is solid. However, it may not be worth your $59.99, as the graphics are wholly unimproved.

    The best news to come out of all of this is the implementation of the Sixaxis: It's not overbearing or intrusive. For example, it only takes a few small gestures to bump someone against the wall. And that's about as extreme as it gets -- which is the proper way to handle the controls.
