With all the extra options available, this is a great title for RTS fans, and castle defense fans as well. It has style, substance, and it had me smiling as soon as I turned it on.

Strategy fans will find their fix here -- just don't expect as deep an experience as a traditional real-time strategy game on PC. Swords & Soldiers is an RTS that feels right at home on a console.
-
For ten dollars, there's really no reason for a fan of real time strategy to pick this one up and experience the experiment in combining tower defense and real time strategy tropes, nor for anyone who's curious about strategy games to turn this one down.
-
If you missed out on this when it launched on WiiWare, or if you have the WiiWare version and want to see how it can be improved, then Swords and Soldiers on PSN is an easy buy.
-
Dec 21, 2010We really felt the lack of a "tower defense" for PlayStation 3, and Swords & Soldiers provides an excellent fix for this gap. Sold at a very affordable price, the game offers three involving, rich and thick single player campaigns, that will keep us busy for a long time, together with an nice multiplayer mode, both locally or online.

Playstation Official Magazine UKDec 25, 2010Addictive, fun, and one of PSN's best strategy games. [Issue#51, p.118]

Oct 22, 2010Indeed, with its comic visuals and light-hearted touches at every step, Swords And Soldiers wants to be this year's Plants vs. Zombies, and damn near succeeds.
-
Swords & Soldiers is an engaging, goofy romp that takes out the complexity of other real-time strategy games but leaves in all the fun.
-
Dec 20, 2010Though the campaign may only take a few hours to beat, there's plenty of content resting within the multiplayer component. Casual RTS fans will appreciate the no-nonsense gameplay, and Move control scheme (which is much more comfortable and efficient than a DS3), though there is also something here for the more hardcore fans of the genre.
-
Though that simplicity can be an asset, in many ways it's the game's greatest weakness as well. The personality will carry you through the campaign, but repeating battles of attrition wear thin too quickly; Ronimo has some great ideas in this little package, even if the end result falls a little short of becoming an RTS classic.
-
In a lot of ways, Swords & Soldiers is like any other satisfying RTS game... just bite-sized.
