If you haven't played Infinity Gene already, or even if you have, it's a worthwhile purchase at $10. If you can get past the short stages, repeating bosses and, for some of you, buying the game again, the superb design, extra modes and inventive use of retro style seen here is well worth the price of admission.
-
It's a great reimagining of the original series, and certainly worth checking out for both fans of the modern "bullet hell" CAVE titles, and for old-school Space Invaders fans as well.
-
Not just the best re-creation of Space Invaders I have played, it is also one of my favourite downloadable titles of 2010. This is an absolute no-brainer recommendation to anyone who played the game or its clones in the '80s, and for anyone who hasn't played it, you will enjoy a very quirky and unusual top-down shooter.
-
This is an excellent update of the classic title.
-
Overall, if you love old-school shooters and feel like you are up for a challenge then I would tell you to download Space Invaders I.G. to your HD gaming system or iPhone of your choice, this is a really awesome game.

Jan 19, 2011Taito has easily produced one of the best downloadables of the holiday season and a worthy expansion to any gamer's digital library.
-
Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is a great evolution for the classic series and one of the best space shooters in recent years.
-
If you're a gamer with an old-school slant, a fervent fan of arcade shooters, or are a youngin' with a hankering for a history lesson (per se), well... look no further.
-
Probably the best Space Invaders update yet, with a dazzling mix of new and old gameplay, graphics and sound.
-
Not as great as Space Invaders Extreme, but a fresh new point of view for a game that looks at its past but know how to evolve.
-
The game evolves from simple, bare bones to a full on shmup with bullets flying every which way, and I think you'll find plenty to both challenge you and keep you coming back.
-
The action moves quickly and the presentation outdoes everything Extreme accomplished last year. Even if you've never heard of the Space Invaders, you owe it to yourself to splice in this Gene.
-
Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is a great evolution for the classic series.
-
Immediate reactions will register on the "what the hell" scale, but with a little time, gamers will have a fluid, evolving experience that's got them on the tips of their thumbs.

Playstation Official Magazine UKDec 25, 2010It's a bit of sensory overload, but definitely worth a look if you fancy yourself an arcade purist. [Issue#51, p.103]
-
What should be retro goodness becomes quite boring.
