If you haven't played Infinity Gene already, or even if you have, it's a worthwhile purchase at $10. If you can get past the short stages, repeating bosses and, for some of you, buying the game again, the superb design, extra modes and inventive use of retro style seen here is well worth the price of admission.

Overall, if you love old-school shooters and feel like you are up for a challenge then I would tell you to download Space Invaders I.G. to your HD gaming system or iPhone of your choice, this is a really awesome game.
-
The game's standard mode and its endless emphasis on leveling up will keep arcade fiends coming back for more, while its multiple ancillary modes will please those looking for a little diversity in their experience.
-
Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is a great evolution for the classic series.
-
If you don't like Space Invaders or Shoot'Em Ups, this won't change your mind. If, on the other hand, you love the arcade feel of the genre and want those games to offer that persistent feeling of accomplishment more modern games offer, buy this game. You could do much worse for 800 Microsoft Points.

What should be retro goodness becomes quite boring.
