Aug 31, 2011A lot of people out there calling themselves gamers like to cry about there not being enough creativity in the land of game development. Well Ace Team sets out to prove them wrong. They may have only released two games, Rock of Ages and Zeno Clash, but both of these titles try to do bold things with games both in the art style and interesting gameplay developments. In the least give the demo for this one a whirl. Hopefully it'll grown on you as quickly as it grew on us!

Aug 16, 2012At its core, Rock of Ages is a nice little twist on the basic strategy genre.
-
Jun 22, 2012Rock Of Ages is a weird but fun take on the tower defense genre. Its a fast, challenging and intense game that is worth your time and money. If you can get past the difficult controls there is much fun to be had.
-
May 31, 2012It has a lot going for it; first and foremost is that unbelievable innovation and blending of genres. The combination works surprisingly well and the control is fine, even if the physics and collision detection is a little off. The experience as a whole is too erratic.

Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 17, 2012A one-trick pony. [Aug 2012, p.117]
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Jun 29, 2012Still, Rock of Ages is a true original and remains quite amusing despite some awkward moments. [Aug 2012, p.80]
-
Jun 4, 2012It's the kind of game that doesn't try to imitate any single game, and by combining several ideas into one it creates something new and unlike anything before.
-
May 29, 2012Rock of Ages is rock solid, but it requires more to be the true Rock of the Ages.
-
May 29, 2012Overall, the game is definitely fun in short doses. It has a nice style and gameplay, which is a breath of fresh air in today's market. You may also learn a few things about history along the way!
-
May 24, 2012To put the game into perspective, it's like Monty Python got together and said "Let's make a video game."
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaSep 25, 2012If you like Terry Gilliam's work you'll love the art aesthetic here as you romp through art history, visiting historical figures as you go. It's quite funny if you can appreciate its sense of humour, too. [October 2012, p79]
-
Aug 14, 2012The lack of balance between platforming and tower defence coupled with a handful of under-featured game modes and unstable online multiplayer prevent it from being a "must have."
-
Aug 6, 2012An impressively silly mishmash of game styles and historical references that still manages to entertain despite its lack of depth and variety.

Jun 27, 2022A fun little game that you can pop on with your friends. There's nothing too deep here but it's fun enough.
